We'd been to Danbury Lakes and found the closest pub to go have some lunch.
So we were introduced to The Bell and wow I'm so pleased we were.
Let by Daniel who's lovely and had a choice of seats as a walking club who had booked table were not walking sure to the heat. 32C
We were both made welcome and seated with a fan. Complementary water at the bar was nice.
The menu is quite extensive and the food we chose was well worth it.
I had the Sausage Melt and my wife had a Cheese/Onion baguette.
Both come with salad and chips, and they were very filling.
Such a nice place to eat with great food, friendly staff who made us very welcome.
Just to note this is a dog friendly pub, with facilities for the larger dogs like Greyhounds too. So to follow this up, we are looking to have a lunch with friends with our dogs, when the weather is less crazy.
Just enjoyed a fabulous RAF reunion at the Queens Head, Foulsham. I can’t complement the staff and food enough. Thank you so much for the great effort you put in to make our evening so special. All the staff were superb.
What a little gem of a place.Table of 4 booked for their friday set lunch.Very good choices and are they were able to cater for my dietary requirements. Top that with a very friendly greeting and pleasant staff made it a day to remember and will go again.
Four of us came for valentines dinner this evening and I’d just like to say thank you to the staff and chefs for such a lovely dinner and service. We were so well looked after and felt so special. The restaurant decorated so lovely and I was even more blown away when our bill arrived with a single stem rose for each lady. I felt so spoilt, what a lovely touch! The restaurant was so busy which speaks volumes for the place but also a hats off to the staff for juggling so many people and serving the yummiest food in such a relaxed pace. All the staff were so welcoming and well mannered from start to finish.
Thank you for your service this evening, here’s a little love for you all with such a positive review!
We felt welcome as soon as we entered. The manager was really respectful and offered to keep the kitchen open for our order. The food was very tasty and filled me and my family in minuits. We will continue to come here.
Been coming here for years but now has new owners. I wish them well but it’s been modernised and has lost its old seaside charm. Fewer seats inside for cooler days, no displays of quick food to eat. For me it’s just lost its appeal. I’m sad.
New menu, new staff, absolutely delicious. While waiting for food to arrive were given mini canapes, very nice. Waiter Daniel extremely pleasant and very good at his job.
Sadly our experience did not match most reviews ! Totally overpriced!!-some dishes showed effort but missed the mark ! Total lack of interest when trying to explain our disappointment
I love the potting shed and go there often for a lunchtime treat, but will struggle to return. I dont know what has happened as the ladies serving are normally lovely and the food amazing. The wait for our food yesterday was an agonising 45 minutes with not an ounce of being bothered or a hint of apology from staff.
I let them know we were there as required and after about 15 minutes of waiting for our order to be taken i went in to remind them we were there and asked for our order to be taken, explaining i was in my lunch break. A lovely man duly came out to take our order. It took another 30 minutes for our order to arrive, by which time we just wanted to get up and walk out, we were starving and really fed up waiting. It wasn’t busy.
We are used to a lovely looking plate of food with a bit of salad and crisps with the sandwich, but when our lunch turned iup it was disappointing. The cheese and onion toastie sat lonely with its bit of green salad on the plate and truly not worth the £9.50 cost. It was nice, but not value for money. Especially after we waited 45 minutes for it without any recognition of the wait. I waited again to pay for an experience i hadn’t enjoyed which added to my frustration.
I politely ask the man serving about the wait, i really wanted to have a big moan but held it in. He absolutely didn’t care less saying people had turned at at the same time ( it was not busy at all) and didnt bat an eyelid when he took my £35 for 3 sandwiches a latter and 2 glasses if apple juice. It really hurt handing over the money.
