Oyster Court Sports Bar & Brasserie in Southend-on-Sea

We felt welcome as soon as we entered. The manager was really respectful and offered to keep the kitchen open for our order. The food was very tasty and filled me and my family in minuits. We will continue to come here.

This is a great place to eat and drink having one of the best pints of Amstel I’ve ever had! Really nice food, some of the nicest guys working there ever! Friendly and chatty! I when in there with my wife and two daughters and being a sports bar I didn’t feel out of place! Very welcoming! You get all ages in there, we wasn’t rushed and took our time went home with a smile on all our faces! Good food and drink and a good price what more can you ask for!

We were visiting Southend on Sea and found this great place last night. Food plentiful, good value and tasty. Staff were very friendful. Would definitely return when we next visit Southend.

We come to this bar for a drink after being turned away at the door of Wetherspoons because a family member aged 34 didn’t have ID. We are so glad we did because it was nothing but brilliant service! They close the kitchen at a certain time but after we had explained we was meant to go for dinner but couldn’t get a taxi and couldn’t get into Wetherspoons the lovely manager Karen offered to open the kitchen and make us some lovely pizzas. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Definitely worth a visit and we will be returning!

Fantastic little gem tucked just off the high street with lovely food and friendly staff. On a wet and windy day the kitchen had closed but the lovely manager, Karen, opened it back up to feed us some lovely pizzas! What tasty treats! Would recommend this place to anyone.

We have been frequenting this bar since it first opened in 2016 & have always been completely satisfied. It's a great place just off Southend high street opposite The Royals Shopping Centre. It is classed as a sports bar & as such shows all sporting events including football, rugby, tennis, F1 etc. but it's more than this. It's a family friendly establishment welcoming all age groups & is a good place to meet up with both family & friends in a safe, pleasant & welcoming environment. The food is really good too offering a varied brasserie style menu with a selection of items such as burgers, pizzas, pasta, light bites, ciabattas, jacket potatoes, nachos, salads, fish etc. & also offering children's meals. They have a good selection of wines, beers, spirits & soft drinks too. All the staff are polite & friendly overseen by the general manager Karen who keeps it all together. For major sporting events there's usually a security presence for that feeling of added security & in our experience the staff have always acted in a professional manner. Thank you to all, we remain frequent flyers!

My friend during the penalty shootout got kicked out for swiping beer cups which was fair enough but the way the manager stood up in his face not keeping her 2m distance was disgusting and very unprofessional. Me and my other friend proceeded to stay in the pub and watch the end of the shoot out. The larger bouncer then come up to us again breaking the social distancing guidelines and removing my friend by aggressively putting him in a headlock bearing in mind my friend provided no physical threat or menace to him at all. I wouldn’t return to this pub if it was the last one on the planet due to the rudeness of the waiting staff and aggressiveness of the bouncers.

4 day visit to Southend, standard bars along the seafront are fairly tired to be honest…. Found this gem tucked away up a side street of the main town centre road. Clean tidy place and the beer was cold and fresh. Staff switched on, we didn’t eat but the food coming out looked nice and fresh with good size portions. Chef did pop out and had a chat which was nice. Went a couple of times during our visit. If you want a decent pint in clean surroundings, give it a go

Away with Grandchildren. Grandson has autism which affects what he will eat.The staff let us bring his food and plates it up for him so we could all eat together with no issues. Thank you to all the staff. Family friendly bar .Highly recommend.

Really missing this place in lockdown as were regulars with my family before lockdown and during COVID restrictions last year they worked really hard to continue providing a great service in a COVID safe environment. Food is always excellent and staff brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait to return for a lovely Sunday lunch with the family when lockdown is finally over!

Often come down here to watch the rugby, plenty of screens and good views. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Food is excellent. Can't beat the chicken & bacon calzone washed down with a Maltsmiths or two. Covid-19 protocols are sensible and well organised.

Despite all the Covid restrictions and limitations, Oyster Court have really worked out how to provide great service In a Covid safe way. Food here is always fantastic as is the service from staff and Manager.

The OC has always been Somewhere you can trust the cleanliness but since covid even more so. They are doing everything right Fairplay to them to keep working with masks all day they go above and beyond to accommodate people, food good, Sunday roast superb, beer is good one of the few places I trust to come to during this pandemic keep up the good work and thank you for all you do xx

So yeah , sports bar which was a godsend as i wanted to watch the football , such a lovely vibe & friendly staff.Food is outstanding, i had the Cheesy garlic pizza to start which was amazing followed by the Special club sandwich , which literally mademe want to cry over how good it was , i wish i could of had that for mylunch every day definitely be backTry it yourself

Visiting Oyster Court with a friend we decided to try their Sunday roast. The choice was really good including 2 vegetarian options and they cater for a vegan roast too. My choice was the roast beef and my friend decided on the nut roast. They both came with a good selection of fresh vegetables and Yorkshire pudding your Gran would be proud of. We were so full we sadly couldn't manage a dessert. We will be going back to try the other options and hopefully have room for a dessert!

My steak was delicious and dont know anywhere else where food is so nice and great value. Atmosphere great, staff friendly- thanks Karen for attending to our our groups requests. Already booked for some return visits. A real gem just off the High Street, dont be put off by it being a Sports bar. Social distancing and covid guidelines very well maintained.

We ordered steak which was overcooked and the fish cakes which were frozen. Very underwhelmed and would have complained had we had a check back that everything was ok. The waitress cleared our plates and I said the steak was over cooked ( she could see my husband left most of it) to which she did nothing about. Will not be returning anytime soon. Poor food. Poor service from start to finish.

After visiting Southend for years found this hidden little gem, lovely clean spacious restaurant with lovely beer garden out the back. Only popped in for a drink but after such a welcome from all the staff we booked a table to go back for dinner! So glad we did, food was amazing! From Steak to burgers and salads it was all delicious and huge portions! It will defo be one we visit on our yearly trips to Southend! A great find! 100% reccomend!

We found this hidden gem while walking into town if it wasn’t for the sign on the Main Street we would have missed it And that would of been a shame as we would have missed out on some absolutely fantastic food. It’s also the best and well organized restaurant we’ve been in since the lockdown was lifted. The staff were friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The club sandwich was absolutely amazing .

This pub is down a small side street off the main shopping centre. It was raining so I stopped in and had a couple of pints. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. Meals were being served and there were many diners, as I had eaten elsewhere I did notpartake but I would go back to give it a try

Had a wonderful lunch here today! Eaten here many times and never disappointed! My partner went for a jacket....large, full of toppings and a lovely fresh salad! I tried the sausage and colcannon mash fri the specials board (for st Patrick’s day ) and it was all delightful!And wonderful service from Mark behind the bar....always a pleasure to see his face

My partner and I popped in last Sunday evening. I was a little reluctant to go as it was described as a 'sports bar'. They had a few large screens showing a football match, but the volume wasn't up and the other customers didn't shout out at the game, so the sports side of the brasserie didn't impact on our evening at all. We had the lamb roast off the specials board. Everything about it was absolutely delicious! I didn't think I was going to be able to eat it all as they were generous portions, but it was too good to leave! I was also really pleased that a whole jug of gravy was brought over, additional to the gravy that had already been put over our dinners. I can honestly say it was the best roast I had ever had!

Karen and her team catered for our works Christmas party for 25 people in December. We had the £25.95 three course Xmas Menu, the food was excellent, quality and portion size. Everyone enjoyed it, a brilliant night was had by all. The service from the staff was exceptional. Highly recommend Oyster Court Sports Bar.Thank you all at Oyster Court

Wow! After a recommendation from others, some friends and I chose to have our Christmas Meal and Jolly Up at the Oyster Court Sports Bar in Southend and what a perfect venue for a great night out! Us girls aren’t that sporty to be fair, but if we were, (the men were though, so everyone was a winner!) there were enough screens to catch any major sporting event and still enjoy an evening out.! The Christmas Meal was outstanding in every way .. so compliments to the chef/chefs for excellent presentation, quantity and quality of the food, brought to our table by polite, friendly, attentive waiting staff, and the Manageress Karen was 100% on the ball with checking everything was more than satisfactory throughout the evening... 10 out of 10 to all at the Oyster Court for a fabulous evening... we will return and we will recommend. 12 of us visited Oyster Court on the 20th December 2019 for a family and friends Christmas meal. We had a brilliant evening. The food was exceptional, we all had the Christmas menu at £25.95 for three courses and we were all very impressed with the quality but also the quantity. The service was amazing, staff couldn’t have been better. We did not have to wait for anything. I would highly recommend Oyster Court and it won’t be long before we go back again. Thank you Karen and all the staff at Oyster Court for a great night.

Never even knew this place existed until we stumbled upon it looking for another place which no longer existed! Popped in for a drink and now really want to go back for food! The bar was well stocked and they had quite a few gins, as well as cider on tap.The drinks prices were reasonable and, when nosing at one of the food menus, I found the food prices looked excellent! Besides the steak, there was nothing over £10. We sat in the courtyard which was clean and well spaced out. I was pleased to see that smokers are kept separate from others wanting to sit outside (usually sitting outside means sitting in a cloud of smog!)I'm sure to be back for food sometime soon!

Came in on my way somewhere else. Was quite enough but looks really clean.Had the oyster burger which was very good, but I have a thing against skinny chips which came with it.Nice beer, loads of screens but I think it's more of a restaurant than a sports bar. That been said, it's 3pm, but I can't imagine that it would be a great place to watch games, even if there are plenty of screens.

This place has lots of screens for all sport to watch. It has a nice beer garden with a wall around to stop the wind. The food here is good and service is very good.

Had a family meal after spending the day in the nearby theme park. This is off the main drag but worth finding. We had 2 pizzas, fajitas and a club sandwich. All were delicious and freshly made. They also do burgers, pasta and salad dishes. Will definitely pop back when in the area. Good price for food and sport on the large screen TV's.

9 of us ate here on Saturday night. Food was brilliant and very good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. It would be a 5 but I’m not keen on TVs in restaurants.

I had a very enjoyable evening recently at a quiz night arranged at this bar. What a great place it is ! So warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and efficient.

This was my first time visiting this venue. The location was perfect as the car park is just in front and free after 6!!! The venue was light and airy and was greeted with polite bar staff and accommodating management .

What a great find. Appearances can be deceptive. Fantastic pub, staff were very friendly and the pub itself was spotlessly clean with the cleanest toilets I think I've ever seen. Well worth a visit if you're in Southend and fancy a bite to eat

They don’t usually serve roast dinners in summer but as we’d made our booking a while ago, they did one for us - which was nice.

Popped into the oyster court for sunday lunch with a friend , had the mushroom Wellington roast dinner, one of the best veggie meals I’ve ever had, the tarragon sauce is amazing. My friend had the beef this time which she enjoyed but thinks the chicken she had last time was even better, perfect roasties with healthy side dish of veg, love this place x

We went there for a meal before a night out clubbing and would highly recommend this place for the atmosphere, great food, prompt and friendly service and very reasonable too.

I recently went here in the afternoon. it looked a bit different from the last time I was there, it doesn't look or feel at all like a 'sports bar'. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes waiting, no sign of any bar staff, so I left. When I've been in the past service has been a bit slow. I won't be back.

As a group of us we use the Oyster Court a lot and they are always made very welcome. Yesterday we went for Sunday lunch for the first time and it was really good - four of us had chicken, three beef and two lamb and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Highly recommend the Oyster Court for Sunday lunch so glad they’ve started doing this because they really do a good job of it I’ve tried both veggie roast options the mushroom Wellington and the nutroast love them both tough to choose between the two though the mushroom Wellington tarragon sauce is extra special. The meat options were very much enjoyed too, the. Oyster Court is now one of the best places to go for Sunday lunch and it’s really good value too see you again soon

Popped in for a couple of drinks and a light meal before the rugby. Bar, drinks and layout are great, lots of great screens to watch sports.

I've had the pleasure of visiting this establishment several times and I love it every time! It's very affordable, the service is great, and the roast dinner is fantastic! I 100% recommend the roast chicken dinner for 2! So much delicious food! You simply must go and try it! And, if you like a good bit of banter, Karen is your woman!

Came in for lunch, really fancied the veg roast but only had the nut roast option, which is fab btw, but have had the mushroom Wellington before which is amazing, the young lady went and asked the chef if they had any, well, just for us they made it, absolutely gorgeous, 10/10 and this is the score every time we come here

I've been visiting Oyster Court on and off since it opened, and really can't recommend it enough. It's spotless. The staff are great, and they have the best Guinness in Southend. Add to that some great wines, and that's most of the battle won already!

Myself and my best friend, eat here often, we have sampled many things on the menu and have had no reason to complain. Food always piping hot and tables clean and tidy. Great Waitresses and bar staff. Neither of us are overly interested in Sports but are never bothered with those that are there to watch a game etc. Would highly reccommend.

Another slightly off the beaten track bar that is a pleasure to visit when in Southend. Manager ensures everyone is treated with respect and service is top notch. Televisions on all walls but are not overpowering if you want to try to ignore them. Nachos starter was very tasty and a very generous helping. Fish and chips were nicely cooked and all in all it was a pleasure to eat and drink here. Worth another visit to try the pizzas!

Great place to chill, inside or out nice little beer garden! Perfect place for a meal the food is great, loving the pizzas (yum)!! Plus you can watch sports!!

Ive been going here since it first opened & i can tell you now its a great place to meet friends, good food, great staff & a safe place to be ,compared to other bars in town.

This place is a great find just up from the pier. Food was lovely and Karen the manageress is a great character who runs a tight ship. Great beer garden and sports are on all day but it’s not a noisy place quite the opposite, well worth a visit.

We have been to Oysters twice for dinner. To we need more to write? We should because it was really great two times! One evening we had fish - the catch of the day. Very well and nice prepared and very very delicious. The second evening we enjoyed their Ultimate Oyster Burger - another very good choice.

Our family (2 adults and 2 children age 7 & 5) have eaten dinner here in August 2018 during our vacation in the UK. At first glance the Oyster Court looks like a relatively normal pub, maybe a bit nicer than the average. We found the place to be very family friendly with attentive staff who were picking up on the mood of our kids. Our kids had Sausage, Chips and Beans as well as Chicken Nuggets and Chips. My wife had the Vegetarian Lasagne and I had the Oyster Court Burger. We added a Waffle Stack and Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert. These were large enough to share between the four of us and the staff provided additional spoons and bowls for the kids to make sharing easier. All in all a very pleasant dinner in a nice and family friendly atmosphere.

The Oyster court was a very friendly place with good priced food and a a great small dish snack type menu. I only tried the Pizza Bread and the wings which were very good and well priced too.Well worth a visit.

Not been here for about a year but still had a lovely time. Food really nice although I'd prefer no sweetcorn on my prawn salad. I prefer it in the cob. Guy who served us at the bar was lovely and really friendly. Would defo go back. The pizzas are really nice. Thank-you oyster court for a great mid week evening.

As my parents came with their dog it wasn’t easy to find a place to had lunch. We saw this one, and honestly it was perfect, the manageress or waitress and the waiter were super nice, and friendly. she even offered water for the dog and the fish and chips delicious, the terrace is very pretty with the flowers and quiet. Too bad I'm living far away.

We are a primary school group who use this place regularly for our end of terms meals. Menu is fantastic plenty of choices at fabulous prices. They cater extremely well for a lot of us making sure each tables food comes out at once so people are not sitting there waiting. Cooked lovely and comes out hot. Service is great without being annoying and has a fab atmosphere. Very good indeed.

Love this bar/restaurant. Good food at good prices. Great atmosphere, but the staff are amazing. Friendly and helpful. Manager Karen definitely works hard at making sure that customers are happy and comfortable and isn't afraid to tackle unruly customers...but done swiftly, politely and effectively. A really good place for families. Value for money is assured.

Had a quick bite to eat here before seeing a band .The food was very well presented and at a good standard . The staff were very helpful and polite. Will visit this place again 👍👍👍

Went here for lunch today and ordered a burger with fries. I must say this meal was not nice at all, a very thin burger dry and overcooked, a bap not even toasted and undercooked white fries!

We arranged to meet here with friends to watch the England v Tunisia game. That morning I phoned to confirm game was being shown & if food would be available. Karen confirmed both and said she would hold two tables for us. The bar was busy but not too many people in where it was uncomfortable. The food was great as always and the service excellent Karen really looked after us. We had a Great night, Great atmosphere. Good value , one of the best bars in Southend.Thankyou Karen & your team .

Love this place at lunchtime quiet with comfortable seating and a varied menu. We all had a different meal and I had one of their daily specials. Large helpings. We all enjoyed our food. Quick service and a very attentive and humourous waiter. All very comfortable, good food. great service and a nice place to meet up with friends.

Great sports bar/ restaurant. Food was excellent value for money with great service. Venue would be ideal for watching the World Cup.

The food is good and the staff very friendly. We have a quiz there now on a Monday afternoon and the staff turn down the music for us - nothing is too much trouble.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat whilst on a day visit to Southend. We are no spring chickens and a sports bar was an unlikely venue for us to pick however, we were tired and our feet were aching so we decided to go for it! We were made to feel very welcome by the Manageress (Karen) and her Staff, the atmosphere was very good as was the food. We don't go to Southend very often but when we do we always have a meal at The Oyster Bar. This was our fourth visit.

No complaints with the food. Found the manager very abrupt and one of the waitresses very unwelcoming which was a shame. The gentlemen was very welcoming and lovely. Was made to feel very out of place by the other staff. The price of alcohol is a lot higher than the food price wise. But food great, decor lovely, just a shame about the manager. Heard her say to another customer “pipe the f*** down” which was massively unprofessional in my eyes. Whether he was being loud or not. But still deserves 4* as the food was enjoyable.

We went as a party of four for a birthday and had a great time.

My family and I booked a table at the bar as we were unable to get tickets for the FA Cup semi-final and we wanted to watch the game together, whilst having lunch.

The manager today was very rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there at all! We witnessed her being rude to a number of different customers. Not the attitude you would expect. All other staff were very friendly, so was ashamed the manager let the team down.

Have been with my husband several times and today we took friends. We all had a 3 course meal and it was lovely.

This place for Sunday Lunch is an absolute hidden Gem. Went with my Mum. Had the Roast Chicken. It can up like a mini carvery for a two and was unbelievable good and at £16.95 the price in phemomenal. You have got to try this on a Sunday.

Really enjoyed a family lunch here on St Patrick's day, the place was packed but got seated straight away, plenty of waiting staff, really good service, nice atmosphere, friendly rugby crowd, good food and good value too. I understand they had a band on that night sorry I missed that, well done oyster court, looking forward to more events and theme nights at this bar

Perfect place for a Christmas party. The food was great, as was the service. The friendly staff ensured that even after finishing our food, drinks were bought to the table regularly. I would highly recommend Oyster Court.

Wanted somewhere to eat as the prices for food at my hotel were 'silly prices'.

Went for Sunday lunch with 5 oap friends great food presented to the table piping hot mains and sweets and the staff looked after brilliantly.
