It was my daughter's, soft launch tonight in this bar. The name of the bar will change to Amario's What a lovely looking place 💗 That's a buffet and it was fantastic plus the chef was cool 😎 It will be going for a new make over!!

Shocked! We were charged £50 for four Bailey's. We thought the guy was joking. Went over the road, £18 for four. Won’t be going in Isla’s again.

My friend and I popped in here for a cocktail mid September. The barman seemed clueless on how to make drinks, so we sat at a table while he tried to find bottles etc. The atmosphere made us feel uncomfortable, we realised everyone else in the bar was friends with the owner, as at least 3 people sitting at tables just got up and went behind the bar. I’m not saying it’s wrong to have your friends at your own bar, but if you have a struggling barman then take control and don’t just ignore the obvious struggle. I went up to the till to pay as I knew they weren’t going to come over to us, the barman asked why we weren’t having another drink as we’d asked to take the menu to our table. I was honest and said it took too long for the first drink and the atmosphere wasn’t great, he then preceded to be extremely honest and tell me he was 3 hours late for work and wasn’t supposed to be on the bar etc! He then joked and asked for £50 for the 2 drinks! Bad timing mate

Trying to find a venue doing bottomless brunch in Essex on a specific Saturday in October was an absolute pain. Fortunately, Islas Bar in Westcliff pencilled one in. Great! A sing a long bingo brunch. We paid £40 each, which I think is a very reasonable price. The average is probably £45-60. We had a member of our party with dietary needs, who was also alcohol free. We were assured that the prosecco/rum punch could be swapped out for alcohol free. As soon as we got there, a bottle of prosecco was waiting on the table, which is great; love that as opposed to waiting for staff to come and top you up. When the bottle was empty, we asked for more, and it was provided, except towards the end, when we asked with plenty of time left but it didn't come and we had to remind them a couple of times. With regards to the food, we had some wedges and dips, and then a platter. They considered my friends dietary needs which was great. However other tables were getting nachos. We asked about these, we were told 'of course' but they never arrived. One table appeared to have burgers and onion rings too, but overall we were left disappointed by volume of food, particularly as we were drinking a lot. The food quality however was very good. At the end, a gentleman who we had not dealt with up until that point approached one of the party for payment. We advised we had already payed. He then came back and gave my friend who wasn't drinking, a bill for the mocktails. We advised we had agreed to soft drinks prior, and she had paid the same as us. He suggested that he was doing her a favour letting it pass, and that next time she would be better off ordering from a menu, but this option had not been suggested to us, which was disappointed. We felt the bingo element got a bit lost, but the music was great and it was a great vibe, hence the mixed review. Would I return? Probably- the pictures and reviews of roasts look great. I will put our brunch experience down to them perhaps needing more staff (they did have a big party in who were occupying a lot of time) and I think there needs to be a little bit more clarity in what food you get for your money, and alternative options, as although a good price for a bottomless, I would prefer more food when heavily drinking.

I have been Isla previously for a Roast, I went with my 2 little girls and friend and I couldn’t wait to go back. The food was absolutely unreal and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My daughters loved it as much as we did! So I went back with my boyfriend and children and the food was spot on again, lots of choices for drinks too. So clean in there and spacious. It is honestly one of the best places myself and boyfriend have been for a roast and we are always eating out! Will be back plenty more times for food and definitely a night out there! Xx

Loved every bit of my time there. The owner was very respectful. His hospitality toward me was awesome. The bar staff were amazing.

Wow!! Food was amazing! Highly recommend the Sunday roast too! Asked for extras, nothing was a problem! Desert was gorgeous! Couldn’t rate it enough. I will be back. Save me the cooking haha

Presentation of the food was fabulous, it tasted great and it was really filling. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We loved the music

Thought I would pop in for a drink, not a meal, but left after a few minutes. It was just before 1pm and there were no other customers. When I walked in there was no one behind the bar but the owner/manager/server was standing by the front door. No greeting or communication of any sort but she proceeded to take a personal phone call on her mobile and just sat down. Completely ignored me so I walked past her and left. As a 70 year old male I am guessing that I am not the clientele that they seek.

Came for a friends birthday brunch and they really looked after us! Defo recommend

Had a tapas lunch here and it was unreal Food and so much for your money! Lovely fredindly staff and welcoming, reasonably priced too - 3 tapas dishes, 2 cokes & coffee came to £33. I've booked again for a bottomless brunch !! Great bar/resturant x

Great family atmosphere Delicious meals A restaurant worth recommending

We visited Islas on Saturday for lunch with our family. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome, especially the lady with dark hair I believe her name was Adrienne. The food was out of this world! I never expected it to be so amazing, so tasty and presented perfectly.

Would highly recommend visiting Islas bar. The food was amazing and very good for value. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Will be going again soon
