21Jun2024 Great little cafe, serving the basic traditional English meals and all-day-breakfasts. Cafe benefits from a large south-facing window, so lots of light. The window also faces one of the pedestrian thoroughfares of Stevenage New Town, so lots of opportunities for people-watching, and a respite place from the bustle of the central square and the Westgate centre. Right next to the indoor market and Lenny's Fish shop, so perfectly placed for a cheeky cappuccino while shopping for food.

Love this restaurant. Very friendly welcome. Great service and wonderful food. Can’t be faulted in any way and our first choice when eating out in the area. Thoroughly recommended. This time we went for the tea party in aid of charity and were delighted to support a worthy cause.

I have had breakfast here twice now. It’s a great prospect and the food is excellent. All portion preferences catered for, the mega is what it says and would feed two! Great value! The queue is a bit of a pain but they do serve fast and delicious coffees! Worth a visit

My first time back for 6 years when Carorline still used to serve the "Naughty breakfast" in their old premises across the road. Now replaced by 3 others which includes the "Large breakfast "which is a feast. Consistent quality over three visits in a fortnight & a lovely warm welcome every time. Worth a trip all the way from Africa.

I would have given this place a rating in the negatives but giving 1 as needed to write a review. The food is absolutely awful. My husband ordered one of the loaded dogs and I wish we had taken a video of how it was … inedible slop. I ordered a lamb dish which again was inedible the flavour was sweet and mostly just tasted of cinnamon taking over the entire dish When the plates were taken it was evident that we had barely touched our food but there were no questions from the wait staff. I could tell from their expression that they had picked up on it. My drink which was a large Malbec tasted astringent and stale Disappointing beyond belief. I’d always thought this place was one to visit as we passed it for several years. I would say nice cosy pub but eat at your peril (that’s if you like good food) Anyways

A day out in Harwich meant we stumbled across The Samuel Pepys Bar. How lucky we were. A warm welcome and some cracking food to enjoy. Haddock and Chips was very good indeed and the cheesecake had the two Cs (cream and crunch) lovely. Had an accident with a spilt pint but no drama as it was dealt with efficiently and professionally, excellent stuff. Would we return. Absolutely, thanks for a lovely afternoon
