The best restaurants in East of England

Always found it good in the past, but last few visits, service has been terrible. The staff just ignore you, don't come give you a menu, let alone take an order. Last time we got up and left. What's happened?

We had our Wedding at Priory House September 2023. It was an amazing day. We had started the planning with the wedding coordinator back in June 2023. Jackie and her team were amazing. Our ceremony took place in the Jacobean room which was perfectly decorated to match our colour theme. While we enjoyed taking photos out in the Priory gardens they turned this lovely little room into a flawless cosy setting to have our afternoon tea. The food was delicious, prepared and served with the utmost care, catering for the dietary needs of some of ours guests. We've given them Five stars, but they deserve a million.

Ordered the beef and chicken mix kebab with fries and salad included everything was tasty, free sauces come with it would rather had pots the everything soaked in chilli and BBQ sauce that is just a small gripe would definitely come back and this was my 1st visit chicken was moist as beef kebab was too, fries ok but salad was amazing especially the raw onion combined with fries and meat.

We went for a meal for my Fiancé’s birthday last Tuesday 13th May and had the most incredible food experience that we’ve had here in beautiful Norfolk. Having lived here for 6 years after moving from Wales we’ve always tried different establishments. Everything was so delicious and all the flavours from our starters to our mains were amazing. So well presented and cleverly created. We are so lucky to have this gem on our doorstep. Thankyou to all staff involved in the kitchen & front of house. Excellent job 😊

I am writing this review on behalf of my 81 year old father (Mr Miles) He and my mother stayed here for 2 nights. He would like to say everything was 5 stars especially the service provided by Sue, Charlotte and Ashley. They were so helpful and friendly. Thank you so match for assisting them so well.

For a set price you get three exceptional courses. The price we paid was £49.50 per person. The host Peter is a warm friendly person. Ideal for front of house. His wife is the chef. After an appariteth we were shown to our table. My wife and I both had prawns as the starter. They were huge and very meaty. Next we had chateaux briand for two. The meat was excellent. Finally my wife had two sweets from the sweet trolley both excellent. I had crumbly stilton and biscuits.My wife liked white wine and I prefer red, so Peter opened a bottle of each and we only paid for the amount we had drunk. A nice touch.On the down side the restaurant is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Also as it is very popular, when full it is quiet noisy but don't let that put you off a fabulous restaurant.

The old punch bowl is the place to be at the week days and weekends, the selection of gins is a huge success. They offer great food at a reasonable price and worth your money, the team behind the bar are always helpful. They have a very good sized garden to enjoy a beer in the sun.

Best curry house for miles. Foods really good and the service from Jay’s team is spot on. Five star rating all round and will deffo be returning.

This is one of our current locals. Drinks are quite reasonably priced for the time. There is a fish and chip shop next door where you can purchase good food. They have pop-up food stalls on a regular basis from outlets like the bucket list. Look out for others. I believe they are on a Tuesday and possibly other days.
