The Perfect Chef in Colchester

Very clean place with friendly staff. A few chips to eat while you're waiting for the food is a great touch. I had fish and chips, good sized portions. Both chips and fish were a little over greasy for my preference compared to others I've had. Cash only.

What can I say about this place other than it was perfect. The minute I walked into the place we were dealt with by happy very clean looking staff in a very clean environment. We were given a complimentary bag of chips while we waited for our food and they were lovely. When we got home and ate our take away we were not disappointed. Top notch food with lots of flavour and cooked to perfection.

Chicken tikka kebab is now only available in one size large for £10.50 very nice but too big. Prefer smaller kebab and chips. Why take the size option away let customer choose.

I've had takeaway from perfect chef loads of time. Now the food is now over priced and starting go down hill. Looks like greed is setting in. No longer my 1st choice in Colchester.

Perfect Chef is a great take away, selling kebabs, burgers, pizzas and fish and chips. They have kids meal offers for the small people and meal deals available. Food is always spot on and they will add salad / sauce as requested (always chilli and garlic for us!) As an added bonus when you go to pick up an order they give you a mini portion of paprika salted chips while you wait. On last few trips the kids also got a free lollipop which they were very happy about! A highly recommended take away!

Had a first take out from here Friday night. Real nice shop, decor looks great! Combo kebab was nice and kids enjoyed burgers. Portions pretty decent too! Curry sauce was a bit of a let down though :( will be back again no dout.

Visited for the first time today and I can't speak any higher of this establishment. Friendly staff and superb food, the chips are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, the batter on my fish was nice and crispy and the portions are very generous. They even gave me a few chips to eat while I was waiting for my order to be cooked. 3 years after posting my review and I stand by everything I said. I've ordered from here several times over the last 3 years and every time the food has been delicious! The portions are generous and very reasonably priced, there are so many options on the menu that you're sure to find something you like the sound of. This is one of the best chip shops in Colchester!

Has a good reputation in the area. Only tried the fish and chips twice as just moved into the area but it has a varied menu which attracts many customers , especially on a Friday night. Manager and staff very customer orientated.

Popped in on a saturday evening and it was very busy, which is always good to see. Got home and the food was really nice, portions were huge, I did not need large everything 😂 medium for me next time 👍🏻

I am local but usually dont use local chip shops as we call them. This takaway is clearly making an effort as I visited this outlet twice within two weeks and the tender remembered that I like my chips open to stay crispy and half with salt and vinegar so I can share with my wife as we differ in how we like our food. They make a lovely youglotu too! They could do with smiling more but the food is good and the place is so clean. Try it you will be happy.

I ordered just a chicken salad and the salad was so disgusting, not fresh at all, almost like it had sat there all day. The lettuce was wilted and gross. Very disappointed. I will not be ordering from here ever again!

You can call and order to collect, the food is really good not had anything I didn't enjoy. Customer service is great all the staff are really friendly. You may have to queue as its popular.

I ordered fish and chips and 2 kebabs on a pre order ready for 15 mins later. Arrived and paid. Waited over 30 additional minutes, to then be told my food was on top of the counter, I asked if it had been there all the time I was waiting and was it still hot/fresh...got a muttered response while he unwrapped my food and put his sweaty hands on it to feel if it is was still warm before wrapping it back up. Got home, unwrapped the food and not edible, chips reheated today many times and soggy, fish was thick with grease and luke warm. Chicken kebabs cold and slopped together in a container. Called to advice shop of this and they said fine for a refund if I came back in. Went to the shop straight away and they refused to give me my money back only new food! Why would I want to eat there after that experience, I will never eat here again - , they are unhygienic, handling cash and touching food at same time, no social distancing, too interested in taking cash (why no card payments!) rather than hygiene. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN IMPERFECT CHEF !

The perfect chef , they sure are lovely food,we ordered several different items all fresh and hot , doing a great job amid the chaos of this virus , ordered via phone for collection lovey lady on phone , given order number shop is adhering to social distancing, to ensure they are still able to support the local community we have used both collection and their new delivery services, could not ask for a better customer services very friendly and able to sort my allergy issues , would highly recommend this company for all take away and delivery service keep up the good work

Best kebab in Colchester by far had kebabs when I lived in London and in Tottenham. None of this greasy meat fresh salad n fresh meat had the 10 pound double wrap with homemade garlic yogurt sauce 10/10 banging bit of grub from boss man well recommended

The worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life. Chips looked and tasted like they had been cooked in black oil. The fish was absolutely terrible and plastic tasting and the curry sauce was congealed. avoid

Truly the best Shish kebab and chips in Essex! Great atmosphere, a very clean and modern business with friendly and approachable, positive attitude employees. Credit to the business! The selection on freshly made food is amazing. The chips are dusted with cinnamon and taste mouth watering. The standards of sourcing the meats are of very high, I would say London Restaurants Quality. Fantastic customer service, and food preparation is second to none. Take away packed into sustainable paper brown bags and the sauces are delightful. Competitively priced and good value. High Recommended.... I LOVE the Food!!

The 15" pizza are very fairly priced and they offer buy one get one half price (at the time I wrote this) so it was two 15" for £16.50... much cheaper than dominoes!!! They do all your other usual stuff including kebabs which look very nice. It's local ... It's cheap... And it gets **** from me

I have to agree with everyone they are very polite and welcoming. We liked the food and didn't have to wait that long for it to be cooked either and they gave us some chips to nibble on whilst we waited which my littlest loved. I'll be back to try the tikka kebab I've heard good things about!

Such lovely staff so very helpful and also very polite nothing is too much trouble. Food is great with large portions and always very hot usually cooked while you wait. A small parking area but is not normally a problem.

Just ok, not great. Kebabs not good value for the price (pretty small, not much filling). Had heard good things about this place but was very disappointed.
