Muammer was our waiter for the day and the customer service was amazing, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were down Colchester tonight for my father’s birthday. We went for some beers in the high street and followed the most beautiful smell. That’s where we come across this gaff. What’s place! The food was unreal and the Efes was ice cold. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone and everyone

Food was terrible the service was so bad when I went to the bar the bar man which his name was Ömer even told me to get out and it was my sons 22nd birthday and they were so ungrateful and they charged me so much money for 4people I paid £746.58

The waiter dropped the yoghurt sauce and it went everywhere and I mean everywhere. Even on the walls.

Too expensive, 120 pounds for a platter full of rice and some bones on the top , the environment and the service though is great

I really don't know where these good reviews are coming from. The prices are high. The portions are getting smaller every year I went. The food was so salty we could barely stomach it 😩 . Needs to be sorted .

Awful, AWFUL, shameful, terrible scammers... I'm originally Turc, this place it could be whatever but nothing related to Turkish gastronomy... Just a single dish and bottle of water, he charged me 2£ for the tea which is complementary in ALL Turkish restaurants, and the bill was 27£, even in downtown London it would not cost that... The bread was just heated by microwave, so hard after some instants... I have even vomited from such disgusting scammers 😵‍💫🤮

Our 2nd visit to Mirra and it didn't disappoint! Absolutely amazing staff, the best service and food is just out of this world! Great traditional atmosphere. Spontaneous visit last night to a restaurant we have never been to. Food was really delicious the atmosphere was great with a full house for a normal Wednesday ( which tells it's own story) and Brendan ensured the service was impeccable. He was super lovely and efficient. We will be back!!!

Overpriced, overrated and disappointing experience. Came here last week for my daughter's 21st. We found the service to be unfriendly and unattentive, many waiters standing around doing nothing, when we left nobody opened the door or wished us goodbye. The food to be reasonable, however i paid £25 for the Mirra special and my lamb was very chewy. My daughters pornstar cocktail was £12 and was sickly sweet and unpleasant to drink. Our bill was a lot higher than we were expecting. W thought it was very overpriced and overated.

I had a takeaway so can only speak for that, but what a good choice this place was! When I went to pick up my food, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, held the door open, smiled, had a little chat and it was a very nice experience. The food itself was awesome! I love my Persian food and this was top notch. The livers were divine, very nice flavour and not irony at all. The lentil soup was also great, loads of dried mint and herbs that made it very flavourful yet not too oily. The bread portion was huge to mop it up as well, which made the whole thing very filling and worth the price. I also had couscous and cacik, both classics and both very nice once again. This place is great, and hopefully I’ll be back to experience the food even fresher and in person!

Was there last Saturday evening. Lively atmosphere for all sorts of groups. The open plan kitchen created more theatre. Above all the food was outstanding. But you need to book.

We had the weekday lunch menu which offered great value. It's a fixed price menu for starter and main course but there is still a wide choice of dishes. The food was well cooked, well presented and very tasty. Our particular favourite was the sigara borek. We also felt the wine list offered some good value options. Service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant has a nice ambience.

Visited on Friday lunch time for the Special 2 Course Lunch Deal, great value for money, and delicious food, top notch service. Highly recommended.

Good food and good flavours in a lively restaurant with attentive staff and a good atmosphere , pity about one very loud drunk man who was a pain and should have been told to leave as there was a 10 year olds birthday party there and his language wasn't the best but he wasn't which is why it only got 4 stars , pity really

We enjoyed the calamari as it was done just right. The decor was nice and staff was attentive . We were looked after well by Ilios . It was a hot summer day and we were able to eat alfresco style as they had the big doors open .

I've eaten in a lot of restaurants Mirra has got to be one of, if not THE, most friendly! We'd never been there before but were greeted and treated like old friends, they were all just so amazing!!! We often opt for Turkish when we're away because as a vegetarian I know that there will be a large and interesting selection of vegetarian options: Mirra definitely doesn't disapoint on this one. My wife and I had a selection of half a dozen items from the small plates and appetizers section of the menu, and for us that was just about the right amount of food. We had a couple of aubergine options, some halloumi, some feta parcels.... It was all fantastic. With a combination of food and service like that, you really can't go wrong

Great Turkish Restaurant. Stylish decor, immaculately clean. Service was professional, polite and very accommodating. (Special mention for our waiter Mummer ) Only restaurant we’ve ever been to twice in one day. Lunch and dinner.

Food was really good but the restaurant was filthy, bits of oily food left on the chairs which has left a stain on my top that won't come out. Toilets had no toilet paper in (most of it was on the floor) the staff were so unwelcoming and two of them squared up to each other in the middle of the restaurant and had to be separated by other members of staff, which was really awkward. We tried to raise all of this when we paid the bill but the waiter wasn't interested and couldn't wait to get away from us (or at least that's how it felt).

We came in after my sisters graduation and what a vibe! The party continued! The staff went above and beyond in welcoming us, they were so kind and a lot of fun, they had us up dancing to celebrate and brought my sister and the other graduates a surprise desert out. The food was lovely, with a large choice on the menu and the drinks were incredible with attention to detail in presentation. Would recommend and can’t wait to visit again

We were here for my 'significant' birthday. The staff went to such a lot of trouble to make us all feel welcome. They played birthday music as my cake came out and the waiter even made me a paper rose. The food was delicious as always.

Visited for a late lunch, we were greeted by Ozzy on arrival and immediately seated. We were served at our pace, not hurried nor did we have to wait. Our food was impeccable and served at the correct heat. We will be visiting this establishment again when in town.

Amazing food! The best Turkish Restaurant I’ve seen in the UK so far. The food, stuff and the restaurant itself is phenomenal.

We went for my dad’s birthday and had a really enjoyable experience! All the waiters were really lovely and helpful the minute you walked in! They brought out a cake and had a dance for my dad’s birthday and we were all crying of laughter! Definitely a birthday to remember. Food was pretty good aswell, will definitely come back!

Rude waitor who would not bring bread & Homous unless we ordered the mains although we have already had drinks ( were going to pay obviously). We were all doctors from NHS and it was weird for him to say that he won't bring anything till we order mains. Food wasn't good either and too pricey.

the best Turkish food I've had in England. Imam bayildi perfect. Succulent squid in the lightest of crispy batters. Borek delicious as was the cacik. Family run restaurant - Turkish not Cypriot. Friendly ambience. Wish I lived nearer so I could have it as my local eaterie.

Would not recommend. Gives you leftover beer of other customers by refilling the bottles. Saw it myself. Bartender was refilling the bottles.
