We keep coming to Poppy's for the freshly made, simple and tasty lunches. Always consistent, and delicious cakes too, but I have to avoid the plentiful Club sandwiches or Ploughman's if I'm intent on finishing with some Lemon Drizzle- those dishes fill me up! Book a table if you're wanting to eat during traditional lunchtimes- it gets busy! Super friendly staff and owner make our visits a treat- especially today on my birthday- free carrot cake! Thank you Penny!

This is now called Monty's as has recently changed hands and the food is appalling now! Previously had good experience with previous owners and that was why we chose to go here. Ordered a BLT and when I had taken a few bites of the sandwich I discovered that half of it never had bacon in it! What bacon was in it was cold and not at all good. Came with 8 crisps and the tiniest bit of salad garnish. My friends tuna melt sandwich was unappetising, with barely any cheese melted in the sandwich. We had two iced coffees and with two sandwiches out bill total was over £27!!! The lady next to us sent back her sandwich as it had barely any filling covering the panini and even after that she returned it and left without food as it looked about the same. Will not return here as its seems that a simple making a decent sandwich is beyond them and prices a complete rip off!!

We had a fantastic experience during our business lunch! There were 10 of us, and the atmosphere was perfect for a productive meeting with great company. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the mixed grill, pizza, and delicious starters – all of which were excellent. Mert, the manager, did a great job recommending dishes to suit everyone’s preferences. The wine selection was lovely, and it complemented the meal perfectly. The customer service was top-notch; the staff was attentive and ensured everything went smoothly. I only wish I had tried this place sooner! We will definitely be back.

My husband and I had looked at reviews for "Best Fish Restaurant" before we came down to Ware from North London on Wednesday. This restaurant and another, "The Albion", had been level pegging, but the pub was derelict and the "Sea Tree" was hard to find being slightly off the main High Street, and not looking too much like a restaurant because it is also a take-away. Thankfully it was open and the proprietor was a delightful character who made us feel welcome. We shared an eat-in meal of plaice and chips washed down with "draught beer" shandies. The fish itself was of the highest quality encased in the most perfect light crispy batter served with accompanying dips of sour cream and mushy peas. We will definitely be eating at "The Sea Tree" whenever we visit in future; just wish it was nearer.

Wonderful historic sailing boat with very friendly crew & informative captain giving us interesting facts about the boat & the river as we were sailing but with plenty of silence in between so we could relax & take in the beautiful scenery in peaceful contemplation! The lunch was delicious & good quality with wine & soft drinks . I totally recommend this 3 hour round trip to enjoy the beautiful Suffolk countryside on the river . Big thank you to the crew & I look forward to our next river cruise with you in the future

7 of us friends had a lovely lunch here on Tuesday 9 April. The food was delicious with a good choice of dishes. Layla, our waitress, enhanced our experience and is a real asset. She was quick and friendly, took time to answer our questions about the dishes and made sure we were happy. We noticed that she dealt with the other customers with the same energy and attention, no mean feat as the café was very busy but she managed all her tables very well.

Booked 2/4 weeks earlier for 90th birthday treat 5 people eating. Fully booked on day so should have been prepared for numbers eating. Not vegetarian friendly. Food not particularly organised. I have not eaten meat or fish for over 30 yrs. Fish & Chip meal no tartare sauce, no peas but broccoli which I thought a somewhat bizarre alternative fish looked overcooked when arrived. I ordered Mushroom Keiv from my menu, one of the reasons venue booked. Plate arrive full of orange coloured food. I told waitress not what I ordered. Given an apology, & told wrong menu on table, walked away . My Sunday lunch was priced at (£19.00). My meat alternative was a very soft looking Baked Sweet Potato with added sweet honey & veg. Baked Potato cheese/salad £6 -9.00) in a cafe. I told it was honey roasted, it wasn't the skin was flaccid & obviously just baked. Other veg :- half a large orange carrot, a piece of parsnip 2 sm. halves of potato slightly roasted, a small floret of broccoli & some tasteless gravy I was extremely disappointed & having tried a bit of 'roasted potato sent the meal away. The meat eaters had decided to order me a Yorkshire pudding they ate this & thought gravy tasted of carrot. I ended up finishing off a side of Cauliflower Cheese which had arrived 'volcanic hot', my 39 yr daughters term' & overcooked, B4 she disappeatred the waitress had eventually offered to get me something else but by then everyone else was 'tucking I'm & I'd lost my appetite. I have never been served such a terrible meal - and would have been happy to have paid more & been served something more than a baked tuber with veg.

Well what do we say, we eat here about once a week, and never have a bad meal. The people who serve you are always friendly, and tidy. Tables are always nice and clean, lunch time you get a bite size menu as well as main menu, and, they generally have a couple of specials on the board. Best book a table before you go there, or you might find they are full and cannot get you in, and you might find yourself sat next to a pop star as we once did!!
