Absolutely lovely chips, really well cooked. Battered sausage and mushy peas were great too. Recommended!

Fish n chips are Excelent , nice crispy NOT fatty batter , chips just right , large portions , quick service freshly cooked , also cook chickem chicken breast portions burgers kebabs coujons , lovely selection , visit 2 x a month travel 15 miles to get there , never disappointed ,recomend to everyone

1st time trying this fish and chip shop, up from Durham on holiday, I rang the order in went and picked up, couldn't believe the size of the fish!!!!!! It was cooked to perfection even tho it still had skin on it was so tasty and flakey, chips where really nice proper chippy chips, would definitely recommend if your in the area and fantastic value for money 👌

Ordered 4 meals Combination kebab - chips Chicken nuggets - chips Savaloy - chips Cod - chips- onion rings Genuinely delicious food. I've been living here for 3 years and have never visited this restaurant. After exhausting all of the local take aways for a reputable kebab I've been rather let down by them all, however this place have nailed it. The chicken was deliciously moist the donner had a more authentic flavour (for western Donner) than anywhere else around March, it genuinely tasted like kebabs I had in my younger years before people stopped caring about their produce. Fish was crispy on the outer and moist within, chips were great too. Overall super place and I'd highly recommend. The only downside is its cash payment only and there arent any nearby chash points within walking distance, but that can easily be overlooked for the food quality, bring a score and you'll be fine. Absolutely banging, 10/10. I shall definitely return.

Good portion of chips, tasty fish would prefer the skin off, but overall excellent service and value.

Firstly must say could not believe... No MENU / PRICE LIST on display in shop. UNBELIEVABLE. We had to ask the price of all items. Very embarrassing with a full shop of people as they were probably thinking we were on a tight budget, not the case just like to know what I'm paying for. With regards to the food chips were earthy tasting and not cleaned/ peeled well. Lots of black bits and eyes, very large fish but greasy and cooking oil with very strong aftertaste.(heavy on batter light on fish) Just got feeling they were more interested in the profit not the quality. Would not bother with a return visit when fish is £9.30. 👎

food has changed here , they don't care if the fish is crispy or soggy rubbish give it a miss if I was you went to petrou brothers chatteris was much better quality and was actually cheaper

Every time I use the chippy the prices go up. £10.50 is a rip of for what you get. Small amount of fish and loads of batter. Will not be using again

Fish and Chips .... Doddington We were staying at a campsite about a 5minute driveaway. I imagine lots of visitors to the site get the same recommendation we did. Our first comment is that, parking nearby many F&C places can be tricky; here it's all on street and plenty of it on a wide stretch of road in a quiet village. Don't let the outside appearance of the place influence your decision to buy here, or not. It did baffle us as to why they haven't 'tidied' it up a bit. A local told me (whilst I was waiting for my freshly cooked food) that the system put in place during past lockdown periods has been kept to and the locals like it a lot ... they ring their order through and get given a time to collect. I could see a lot of cooked food waiting collection. We always ask for our fish batter to be very well done ... almost making it look 'over'done. As I ordered I asked for this. One chap was cooking and one serving up, with a lady taking orders and money (it's a cash only place). Both guys said to me "all that in the cabinet is cooked well done"; I looked ... it wasn't what I call well-done and so I said so and asked for an 'even more well-done' piece to be cooked. If looks could have killed .... reluctantly (it was obvious) another piece was cooked freshly for us. One guy clearly not happy, the other having accepted the request. The food we had (chips, scampi and cod) were all as we wanted them. Absolutely no issue with the food, all cooked fresh to order. No issue with the price, it was pretty much the same as we find it across the country ... Scampi and Chips, Cod and Chips + 1 x mushy peas @ £21.80 It's a popular shop locally, I found the food good and the price average. It's tough to give a '5-star' review to a Fish & Chip shop, there are so many of them and everywhere that it's really hard for any of them to stand out. We travel the country all the time and visit far too many ... this was a good choice, good food and fairly priced (in today's world). Next time at the campsite would we drive further than this place to get F&C ... probably not and nor should you. Well ... not unless we receive a stunning recommendation from a local, or ... an invitation from another F&C takeaway to sample their offering for the price of a review because they believe they are better! (rolling around laughing, smiley face, !)

We sadly don't live locally but diverted on our way home because we needed tea and we'll let's just say we'll worth the diversion and we'll be eating there again, the chip's are perfectly golden the sausage in batter was yummy and for once the pie wasn't microwaved like some chip shops do definitely worth 5 stars and more the staff were polite and not treating you like a number but an actual person Ps portions are BIG hehe

If you are near Doddington then you have to try this fantastic fish & chip shop. The fish & chips are great and you get a really good portion.

Best chip shop in surrounding areas. Reliable and great food. The fish and chicken is to die for and donner meat doesn't taste cheap. Very busy at peak times so call ahead with your order.

The times I have been here and this is one of the best if not the best fish and chips I have ever tasted and if I could more higher marks I would and I will completely agree with others who given this place 5 stars and given them excellent reviews too . Hopefully I will be back in the near distant future of totally fantastic fish and chips and the staff are friendly too .

Stopped for lunch whilst walking the dog from nearby campsite. The cod and chips were excellent, very fresh, not greasy and perfect. The staff were very friendly and brought water out for the dog. Highly recommended. We are back in May and a return visit will certainly take place (plaice)......

Positives: Chips were absolutely lovely. Nice and crispy, not greasy at all. Service was relatively quick too. Negatives: The cod couldn't have been any greasier, absolutely dripping with oil and the battered sausage was hands down the most disgusting sausage I've ever had. Obviously they used the same batter that was used on the fish as it was so fishy and the sausage was mushy. Yuk!

We are staying at a nearby Caravan Park (Fields End Water) and decided to have a ‘chippy tea’. Great S&K pie for me, and fish cakes for my wife. Chips freshly cooked and some of the best we’ve had. Coming back next year so will defo be having more ‘chippy teas’.

Driven past many times and always impressed by the numbers of customers. Today we sampled it for the first time at half past noon. No soggy precooked food on racks, freshly cooked for us in 10 minutes 2 meals, chicken fillet burger, regular sized fish and large portion of chips. My preferenc for fish is middle cut but only tail served. However the wide part of the large tail was thick and flaky like a middle cut. Very good. The chicken fillet was top quality and served with the option of salad and sauce (we had mayo) Lots of good quality chips.

Just moved nearby and only been to this Fish bar once so far but very happy not only with the great really well cooked food but the great welcome from the staff. Highly recommend.

We are staying at a local caravan site, and popped in for fish and chips, the fish was really fresh and the chips were really lovely and there was some scraps as well, i like my food, and this was a large portion excellent value and quality will definitely be using again, verygood value for money... Horrible dried up pie . Not fit for human consumption. Would not return . Also insisted on cash payment which was suprising in view of the current pandemic

The fish and chips are great, infact so are the burgers aswell. When I walk past the smell makes me want to go in, so I have to be very good and tell myself that I have already had some this week. Friendly staff, always make you feel welcome.

Have driven past a number of times when visiting my granddad who lived nearby and it never looked that inviting and was never when it was open or I was in the market for fish and chips Was visiting my parents this Thursday lunchtime so thought I would try it out Parked up at midday and there was a queue, great sign i thought. When it was turn to go in I placed my large order and they said I was not allowed to leave without mushy peas and curry sauce, which along with a large bottle of Pepsi , was thrown in for free. What a nice gesture but not as nice as the the perfectly fried fish and chips which is not cooked in regular oil as too damn tasty. If I ever fancy fish and chips within a 30 miles radius of Doddington there is now only one choice for me. Also have to mention the two men who served me as they were beyond nice and we had a lovely chat. What a little gem Enjoy
