Tillys in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

I visited this cafe today for the first time.The staff were very friendly.There was plenty of choices for a lunchtime menu and also reasonably priced for Burnham Market.The drinks we ordered came out fairly swiftly and the food not long behind.Nicely presented and tasty.Its obviously very popular and we will definitely return again soon

The service was great, the prices were very reasonable and the location is cute. The food was ok but we didn’t leave racing about it. It was acceptable without being great. This is a purely personal opinion and my own experience, but I have very high standards as someone who is highly proficient in the kitchen. Others may well have had the same dishes and be completely satisfied. Overall a decent experience but as there are a number of other cafes in the village we will be trying them first next time to compare. This cafe was recommended by some locals, has a good reputation and we would be happy to return and try different dishes.

Friendly and fun place to drop into whilst in Burnham. Always a friendly welcome from staff. Good quality food and excellent selection of cakes. Good value for money.

Gorgeous coffee and homebaued cakes and goods were delicious. Has a courtyard with seating in the sunshine! Lovely little coffee break!

I went in for a takeaway bacon baguette, tea and a piece of carrot cake. Everything was lovely. I will definitely try a mega breakfast when I have the time to sit down and enjoy it. At only £8 it’s a really reasonable price. It’s so nice to go somewhere and business are not trying to rip you off, (especially in Burnham Market)😬very friendly owners, a really lovely little cafe,

This is a nice little courtyard cafe and we called for lunch. We both had coronation chicken sandwiches. I’m coeliac, so mine was gluten free. Although we both enjoyed the sandwiches, and the portions were generous, I was very ill shortly afterwards. So, if you are coeliac or have sensitivity to gluten, I’d avoid eating here. Otherwise - enjoy!

Stopped here for a late breakfast. We had a "Mega breakfast" & it was delicious, one of the best I have had. At £8 it is a bargain. Definitely worth a visit.

Good tasty food at a good price and friendly welcome . Let us park Our bikes outside and the owner was super friendly and filled up our water bottles. Great stop on the rebellion way.

My favourite cafe, set in a beautiful courtyard. I can only drink decaff coffee and their special own blend is the best I've ever had. The staff are lovely and the cakes are yummy I had a smoked salmon baguette yesterday, it was really tasty and generous. I can say hand on heart I'll definitely be returning!

Heard so much about Burnham Market and thought we’d visit whilst staying in Wells. But this was the worst experience ever. Boiled milky coffee that was meant to pass as a latte and dried up raspberry and almond cake. I left most of both. I would normally complain but felt there would be a stony silence if I did, given the clientele seemed mostly locals. So paid and got out quickly.

Staying in the area and visited for afternoon tea to celebrate my Birthday. Organised by my husband from home. Very friendly and helpful and included some delicious cupcakes in the tea. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to me and it was such a nice experience! Thank-you

We have been visiting Tillys for many years and it's our favourite cafe. In fact, I can genuinely say we plan day trips to North Norfolk specifically to visit Tillys for their delicious prawn with lime and chilli mayo sandwiches! Whether eating in or taking away, the standard of food is always excellent. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, I'd award them a 10 star rating if I could!

Friendly and Jolly staff who made us very welcome. Sandwiches were really well presented with fresh local bread, the choice of cakes made it near on impossible to choose so we had a selection to go. Well worth a visit a least a couple of times whilst in the area you'll not be disappointed.

Do not visit late afternoon unless you don’t mind the floor being swept around you !! Surely if the closing time is 4pm clearing up should be done after then, not when customers are still eating/drinking.

Food was cold had to ask for it to be reheated then it was over cooked. Toast was burnt and staff were rude. Not a place i would re visit

I went to Tilly's last year and as soon as I could I headed back there again. We had a lovely welcome and decided to sit outside. My friend had a cold drink and a gooey piece of flapjack. I was a little more hungry, I had a well filled ham sandwich and a sausage roll to share with the dog. Also had an oat milk latte. Both were lovely. The owner came out to meet my dog and remembered her from last year. He always carries dog treats in his apron. We'd definitely go back again.

Called in this morning while visiting Burnham Market. We got a table down the steps, next to us was a man sat with his dog, the dog was very smelly so much so we couldn’t drink our coffee, the man who served us petted the dog which. didn’t think was very hygienic .The cafe just looked messy, items all piled up on a long bench, the old cracked and broken floor looked like it needed a good old scrub with soap and water… all in all a grubby place and then the smelly dog…not for us I’m afraid, left our coffee and left the building as fast as possible.

Tilly’s is a quaint little place, perfect for a quiet afternoon tea, and I enjoyed relaxing with my hubby. The selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones was perfect, delicious and all home made. The staff were friendly and we felt very welcome. Thank you 😊

We went into this cafe while staying in burnham market and was very well looked after and so was our mini dachshund Albert.what lovely kind people they all were,they were extremely busy but took the time to talk to us for a few minutes and the gentleman that took our order was just lovely,isn’t it nice to be nice,we continued to use this cafe most days for lunch and all the food we had was delicious and fresh and not overpriced.we will come and see you again soon and Thankyou so much for your overwhelming customer service.

Lovely little place! Visited as a family of 7 plus pooch, the staff were so accommodating to us and extremely friendly! Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast we had was very yummy! What more can you ask for!

Six friends five minutes from the “end of service for breakfast”. No problem to the people serving. Service was amazing. Food arrived promptly and the baguette was so fresh. The dog enjoyed getting a treat from owner. Very reasonably priced for the location as well. The tea was proper builders tea from a tea pot.....

1st ever visit to this lovely cafe. Situated in the centre of the village serves a varied selection of meals,snacks,cakes and drinks even during the current Covid restrictions. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food,2 x jacket potatoes was so very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble and I highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for lovely food and pleasant experience.

went to Tillys Cafe a couple of weeks ago whilst visiting Norfolk quite small but we didn't have to queue, staff couldnt have been more friendly and food was delicious, we all had the breakfastcakes were delicious and iced coffee also very nice definitely worth a visit

One of the best cafes we have been in. We had a short wait outside as it was full when we arrived. It only has a small number of tables, but definitely worth the wait. COVID procedures very good with track and trace, hand sanitizer on the tables and adequate distance between tables. The service was excellent and the chocolate billionaire and honeycombe tiffin cake were both amazing. We will be back very soon!

Excellent. Wide choice on menu. Great sandwiches and piping hot lunchtime snacks. Cream teas, big cakes teas etc and really friendly staff. Could not fault it, great value as the prices are very reasonable. Used it twice and will do so again...

We go to Tilly's every year when we are on holiday. Before COVID we use to call in any time during lunch time, always given a table and seat, served quickly and efficiently. Again we called at lunch time 12.20pm we only had a two minute wait when diners left, sanitized table then completed track & trace form, then we experienced the service we have always had. In the next 30 mins the customers ( both take away and seated) arrived in a constant flow everyone accepting the regime we are all following.Jacket potatoes, chocolate fudge cake and caramel milkshakes could not be faulted, very reasonably priced.

We received a very warm welcome as we came in from the rain and enjoyed lovely lattes and cake. There are lots of fresh cakes, brownies and biscuits to choose from so anyone with a sweet tooth will be pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a visit when in Burnham Market.

Tilly's is a Burnham Market staple. Friendly staff, cheap prices and amazing jacket potatoes, especially their coronation chicken! The staff even accommodate my unusual request of baked beans as well! It is also possible to ring up in advance to order a takeaway. I hope everyone keeps supporting local during Covid-19.

This place just gets better and better! They have made changes to the seating arrangements to cope with the new COVID requirements but the the choice and quality of the food is still top class. All cooked from fresh and definitely recommend the jacket potato and chilli tails! Friendly service from lovely Norfolk hosts.

Went mid afternoon, not expecting much to be left and had an amazing lunch. The toasted sandwiches using Italian bread folded were like delicious calzones. The ham was beautiful and thick. The baguettes and fillings were fresh and delicious. Jacket potato had proper crispy jacket and very generous filling. Very well priced too.Small place, that also does takeout.

Great, welcoming cafe! I enjoyed a fish finger sandwich and Diet Coke which only came to £5 (great value for Burnham Market!) The staff were very attentive and friendly, too. Thank you! We will visit again!

This is such a sweet place and very fairly priced. Simple, but perfect lunch options. There was an amazing array of tray bakes and cakes.

We had a lovely time in this cafe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is good quality and generous. We had a crayfish baguette between us and then had two delicious cakes with excellent cappuccinos.

This is very good for snacks during the day we have been here lots of times. It is small but very good it does get full at lunch times. If you need a small meal this is place to go.

Hmmm. I suppose you’d say quaint, but it’s also pretty grubby and unloved. We struggled to open the door as the catch was stuck. There was an overwhelming smell of a dirty cooker that’s been heated up. The sort that makes your eyes sting.The lady that served us was pleasant enough and the drinks we had were fine.Rest of the cafe was dingy. Cushion covers and curtains very dirty. Cobwebs and dust easy to find. The outside loo was pretty awful too and our tea pot spout was chipped!The owners/staff obviously think it’s wonderful and nothing needs doing, as during our time there 2 out of the 3 of them sat chatting without a care in the world. We didn’t sample the food, which I’m sure would’ve likely been ok, but the hygiene and housekeeping standards were well below what we would deem as acceptable.

Having walked past Tilly’s Cafe for many years we went in on Saturday. What a find. Wonderful service, great quality (even the gluten free sandwich which can often be hit and miss!) and all served with a smile! We will definitely be going back when next in Burnham Market!

A lovely little cafe in Burnham Market and the gentleman who runs it is always a pleasure. I would definitely recommend you nip in for a brew and cake at minimum!

Excellent lunch. I had a tea for one and crayfish tails and lime & chilli mayo on malted bread and a few crisps.I bought the same to go and a selection of cakes! Coffee and walnut, chocolate, zucchini and lime and 2 cheese scones (not all for me). All lovely and worth a visit!

Lovely service great lunch time food. Two adults and a 4 year old! Jacket potatoes were huge and tasty! I had the flat bread and will definitely return.

On visiting the charming village of Burnham Market, we noticed the "We are dog friendly" sign in the window of this small cafe and bakery and decided to try Tilly's for a spot of lunch. The staff were welcoming and friendly, offering biscuits to the dogs, while we looked at the menu. Good selection of lunchtime or teatime fare and the food when served proved excellent. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a coffee and bacon sandwich. Coffee acceptable, bacon sandwich good. Yet to try all the competition in Burnham, so can’t say if there’s better here...

Classic cafe style, small and charming. Lovely couple runs it. We had salmon and scrambled eggs. In the middle of the village. Definitely worth stopping in, saying hello and grabbing a bite to eat.

Went in Tilly’s yesterday for cake & tea . Cakes were ok , staff lovely . You could see kitchen which looked untidy .

We often take our holiday in Norfolk and always plan a stop here for lunch. The rarebit is amazing but all of the food is excellent quality and the service is very effciebnt and friendly. A lovely relaxing lunch. The cafe also serve excellent take away ice creams!

Visited Tilly’s last week whilst on holiday in Brancaster. The cafe was busy when we entered however there was one empty table of 4 in the corner which we sat at even though the previous diners dirty crockery was still on the table. I stacked everything up to one side and we started to have a look at the menus on the table.

We had been to Tilleys the year before and had a very nice lunch so we decided to return. We weren’t disappointed. My husband had a jacket potato with tuna and a side salad. He enjoyed this and there was certainly no lack of tuna. I had the egg mayonnaise sandwich as I enjoyed it so much the year before and it was as good as ever. The only thing we weren’t happy with was seeing a drinks can put into a clean glass for someone else. This isn’t very hygienic. Having said that we would most certainly go back if we were in the area.

Yes, we were back again and it always provides great food and service, the bacon baguettes are freshly made with meaty and flavoursome bacon. Coffee is hot and served how you want it, it’s just one of those real gems which never fails to deliver and as for the dog, well she knows where it’s best for a treat. We called in here for afternoon tea whilst visiting Burnham. A nice choice of fresh cakes and sandwiches and a wonderful pot of tea! The staff were extremely friendly and the prices very reasonable. It’s also dog friendly.

As an allergy sufferer, I was so pleased to have found this delightful cafe which was welcoming and happy to help with my dietary requirements. The food was delicious and great portions. I highly recommend this place and will be coming here again.

What a lovely cafe! Dog and coeliac friendly. Gluten free options aplenty. My non coeliac partner also enjoyed his "normal" baguette. Moreover the service was pleasant and friendly. My little dog was given a couple of dog biscuits so he enjoyed his experience too. We have never been to Norfolk before so this cafe gave a really good impression. Burnham Market is a charming village too.

Simple fare, well cooked and presented with friendly service. Extremely good value. Dog friendly, children friendly, people friendly! Efficient, but all food freshly prepared so not fast food. Small so fills us fast late morning/lunch times.

You may note from my previous reviews of Tillys that I am already a big fan. We generally have breakfast with tea/coffee. However as a treat to our friend we decided to venture into afternoon tea. We have taken afternoon tea very seriously over the years and even abroad make every effort to sample local varieties. Anyway, Tillys didn't disappoint. The table was well laid out with goodies. I must confess it beat us and we had to take a goodie bag home. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a bit of afternoon tea! But I recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Well done Ann and Kev and the girls particularly Meg.

Though small, this little coffee shop has delicious delights and excellent coffee! There are tables inside as well as in the front of the shop. Relax and enjoy the local atmosphere.

This lively dog friendly cafe in the middle of Burnham market is ideal. We had the full English breakfast which was hearty and tasty with toast and a cuppa all for the price. Our son had a cheese burger which also looked delicious.

Visited on a very chilly Saturday, had delicious local ham sandwich and lovely coffee. Was tempted by coffee cake which was labelled recommend, one of the best coffee cakes I’ve had. The filling shouted- coffee, it was lovely. The service was friendly and efficient too.

I have been going to Tillys for many years now. I reviewed it in 2013 and if anything it has got better. We would all prefer a good cup of coffee or tea and a cake, in a typical well run tea room. It is run by 2 of the nicest people who will take time to talk to you. The staff are lovely. It has an unrivalled charm and is definitely a destination point for us, even though we live on South Coast, we look forward to our visits which we do as often as we can. It is well worth the trip, we just love it. May it never change to join the ghastly empty so called "Boutique" cafes etc.

My husband and I had a fabulous full breakfast here. £7 including a hot drink so amazing value. Was very cosy and warm just what you want on a cold day. Very friendly and welcoming.

Found this place when walking around Burnham Market as we wanted a family lunch. Menu was varied and staff very friendly.

Stopped here twice this week for coffee and cake on our weeks break staying in Thornham. Sat outside in the sunshine, coffee stayed lovely and hot and so many gluten free options for snacks.

We were recommended a trip to Burnham Market and were left bemused. It's a lovely place but most of the shops and eateries cater to a certain clientele. We fancied a straightforward snack and brew and got that at Tilly's. We had coffee, tea and a sandwich. Staff weren't the warmest and looked bored - they were either reading a magazine or playing on their mobile - so we didn't bother with a cake but bought one elsewhere. Dog friendly which was great for us. Seating can be a bit tight so bear this in mind if you have a large dog with you. Clean outside toilet.

Delightful to find a normal priced eatery in Burnham Market. The food is simple, honest and tasty! The best coronation chicken sandwich and cake I've had in a long time! Owners are friendly, hard-working and deserve to reap the rewards from this honest establishment.

This is an oasis of normality in an area of incoming people. Simple, straight forward and tasty. In Burnham there are a number of sophisticated eateries, but we always return here. This is a proper friendly cafe. Dog friendly and simple but well worth a visit. We love it.

Always visit here when in the area for coffee and cakes. Owners have always been polite and friendly but especially so today. I asked if I could buy a lead in the town for my dog and within five minutes of asking they had gone out and replaced the one I had lost on a nearby beach with another one. The coffee and breakfast was as always lovely. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality and will certainly call in again when in Norfolk.

We’ve been to Burnham Market a few times over the years but never been here. What a little gem of a place. Possibly the best pea soup I have had and served with lovely warm bread. A great cosy little haven on a wet November lunchtime. Really friendly staff and not at all pretentious (which I have to say a few Burnham establishments can be.....). Definitely recommend.

Not sure what the fuss is about Burnham Market - I'd stick to the coast myself. However this is a lovely little cafe with great cakes and plenty of other food on offer. Felt a bit out of place as we didn't have a dog (or two) and wasn't sure if it was compulsory. (I do like dogs just haven't got one). Had apple and caramel pie and tea - all lovely. Staff very helpful in making tables available for everyone.

Yes it's a cafe but sometimes that's all you need and here it's worth a visit. Good food, good selection , good service and good value.

Went to Tilly’s Cafe for a late lunch. Very small. Friendly. Very reasonable prices. I chose a Tasco – a soft Italian bread stuffed with a choice. I chose Ham and cheese. Just £4.50 with lovely salad. Husband chose a beef and veg pastie just £2.20! Coffees, Americano and Capachino.

Took my daughter shopping in Burnham Market. Had breakfast at Tillys - my daughter chose chocolate cake which came with a lit candle. Nice touch. Always a pleasure to eat here.

My husband and I had a very nice lunch here in this lovely little cafe. It was very reasonable and friendly and dogs are welcome too! U had a Tilly Tasca which is a gorgeous fragrant Italian bread folded over cheese and a topping which also came with a delicious salad. My husband had burger and fries which he said was very nice. The cakes looked amazing but we were too full sadly. We will return another day.

We came for lunch but decided to go for the afternoon tea option. For £10 we got sandwiches /cake and tea. I asked for more sandwiches and less cake and the manager was more than willing to tweak the menu to suit us. . My daughter had been here earlier in the week and said she had had the best gluten free sandwich ever,!

We love going to Tillys, it's such a friendly place. The food is always fresh and beautifully presented. Today I had the Norfolk Rarebit and salad, I think the salad here is the best I have ever had, really fresh items and a lovely dressing. The atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly, Staff are friendly and welcoming. The prices are good and real value for money. Don't miss out on this little gem.

Stopped here for breakfast before travelling home. The food was beautiful and was very reasonably priced! Everyone emptied their plates. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Would come back again in a heartbeat. They also offer a picnic service which we will try next time we come back!
