The Filling Station in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

I’ve not been here for about 10 years and it was lovely to see that some of the staff remains. All staff are super lovely. The foods was just as good as it was back then. I had the chicken Washington granary bap and a pot of peppermint tea. The side salad that came with the bap had a lovely dressing on it which was just right. I’ve been to places where they drown the salad in the dressing! The pot of tea was enough to do 2.5 cups and it’s a treat to have a proper china cup and saucer. Don’t ever change the way you do things here.

did the food for my daughters wedding reception. delivered the food to the reception and set it all out .was a fantastic selection including vegetarian options. food was plenty . any one that's not been in the filing station should go in their and i bet you will return .staff are very friendly and welcoming and food is superb

We had the the most delightful jacket potato and a caramel shortbread to follow was absolutely sublime. The staff were great, very friendly especially mellissa who went out of her way to help us. Will definitely be coming back on our next trip to kings Lynn

Great place to eat very good food and service will be back again

Love the food here and the service is good, the prices have gone up a bit recently especially for eating in! That’s the only downside. Interior is super cute.

Looked nice but was overcooked no very nice to eat

I went here yesterday after reading great reviews and was not disappointed. My mum and me are Coeliac and explained this to them. They where very helpful and accommodated us easily even though was rush hour in there. The staff are lovely and friendly. We had a lovely pot of tea there and the food was delicious. I had a brie, cranberry and bacon on gluten free bread not toasted and was delicious. I did get food envy and my mother's chilli on jacket as was amazing! All come with side salad and dressing. Lovely local business not expensive and great for lunch. I will come back on my next visit to King's Lynn.

Rubber sausages and weak tea seems poor value for money Ishame really how they can't be bothered to get the little things right.

All the ladies here are lovely, friendly and welcoming. Service is great with food to match. Hog roast rolls are always a win for me. Well worth a visit

Baked potato cheese and beans best in town

Been here a couple of times on our way for w break and called again Friday 17th may 2024. great menu and good prices. Excellant food and drinks. we sat outside in the sun but had to sort out a seagull. Service was very customer focussed.

The filling station team catered for my wedding reception with a wonderful (and generous!) buffet. Food was delivered on time and everything was delicious, would highly recommend.

Quick lunch stop whilst shopping. Hadn’t been here for years. Wasn’t a particularly positive experience back then but reading recent reviews, thought I’d give this place another go. Polite and friendly staff, taken to a table quickly and the ordering process explained. The most Weird, not very pleasant chicken in the chicken tikka roll I ordered. Definitely didn’t have the texture of fresh chopped chicken. This was served with a small basic side salad containing sad looking limp cucumber curls. The food I was served seemed poor quality, really disappointing considering the price charged. Also to mention, the chairs were really grubby. Given my experience here I wouldn’t return.

Excellent cafe and cake shop. Freshly baked every day. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Wide choice of lunchtime snacks and cakes.

Had lunch at The Filling Station Saturday...busy as it always is. Greeted by a lovely pleasant lady and shown to our table! Food came and was excellent, well presented and delicious! Been here some time ago and again Saturday 24th Feb 2025. Queued for ages last time but this time straight in. Great menu. food was delivered quickly and was lovely and price was ok

I have been going to the filling station for many years, the services is always fantastic, the food is varied and caters for all food types, I have had the hot roast, the serving was plentiful, so much I couldn’t eat it all, they let me take it away with me, I also had a latte which was the best in town! Such an asset to the town, would definitely recommend, and will be visiting again very soon!

Apart from the awful flamingo decor the food wasn’t great. I had a hog roast which consisted of more apple sauce than either hog or roll. My partner had the same. Her son had a cheese sandwich which had little cheese and the cheese was flavourless however the rolls were good and coffee was good.

Very nice cafeteria in the centre of kings Lynn seemed very popular as we had to wait to get a table , had a very nice jacket potato which was very tasty , would recommend to locals and to visitors as well , staff very friendly as well

Absolutely delicious! The Filling Station Cafe: I have been to the Filling Station very many times over the last 5 years that I have lived in King's Lynn. The premises; facilities, staff and food throughout that time have been consistently superb. The high quality of the food/beverages never changes. Always superb. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients and all meals prepared and cooked on the premises, makes for a lovely experience these days when we live in world full of coffee shop chains offering mass produced pre packaged foods. The staff are cheerful, professional, helpful and friendly - the staff don't change either which for me speaks volumes about how they feel at work too - there is always a calm yet cheery atmosphere in the Filling Station. The value for money is excellent. Afternoon Tea: In addition I chose the Filling Station for the Catering for my 60th Birthday 'Afternoon Tea' delivered to a local village hall and for 30 people. It was absolutely superb. Delicious finger sandwiches (5 different fillings); home made individual mini quiches, cheese scones with various toppings & sausage rolls. This was all followed by a special request for variety of lemon cookies, Viennese fingers; millionaire slices and flap jacks alongside plain scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. This was all delivered to a venue some 10 miles away and was absolutely superb! Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented! The quality was magnificent and it was superb value for money. I would highly recommend the Filling Station for it's consistently superb quality; beautiful café; wonderful staff; equally excellent catering service and value for money.

Good menu choice, order at the counter and staff deliver to the table, food was tasty and great value.

The staff here are absolutely fantastic! And the sandwiches on offer are incredible, I come from over an hour away just for their chicken Washington - they really do fill the sandwiches, the bread is so delicious, and it is served with a lovely salad with an amazing dressing, very good value for money. I cannot say how lovely the staff are here!

Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast well looked after, and great value.

We were staying in King`s Lynn for 2 nights and decided to have breakfast here. Unfortunately for us and rather stupidly for them they do not have their opening hours displayed in the window. We arrived at 9.10 for breakfast on our first morning and it wasn`t open. We could see staff inside so waited and was told we don`t open until 9.30. Having timed tickets for Sandringham we went elsewhere. tThe following day we arrived at 9.30 under an umbrella in the pouring rain. It wasn`t open AGAIN, after 5 minutes a lady came to the door and said we will be a few minutes until we open. My husband asked if we could come in and wait. The answer was "No". According to her they are not allowed to open until they are ready!!! What an appalling attitude turning customers away for the sake of a few minutes when it`s pouring. They only serve breakfast until 11.30 so you think they could open on time. Ordinarily a café that serves breakfast would open at 9am at the latest and most open 8.30. I presume they are making a profit but they won`t if they treat visitors to King`s Lynn like that.

Always visit this friendly cafe when in the area. The staff are very happy and accommodating, food has always been really nice (had breakfast and lunch here) will need to try their delicious looking cakes sometime 😉

I have been using this cafe for years and I feel it’s time to give credit where it’s due. I have NEVER had a bad meal, poor service or feel robbed. The venue is immaculate, staff happy and friendly, not just to customers but amongst themselves. You can see the food being prepared and cakes are made on the premises. Portions are generous and excellent quality food. I have eaten in and used their take away service, both are top notch. If I could give it 10 stars I would! Thank you for many a lovely meal, and many more to come.

Nice, cosy place with tasty food. We didnt realise they close at 3.30pm so we sat and chatted well beyond the closing time and lovely ladies didnt rush or tell us to leave, they patiently waited. Thank you

Recommended by a helpful local lady, we were not disappointed. Staff so very friendly, food so varied, delicious, copious and well priced. The quirky decor was stunning....several photos sent to family members, who are now encouraged to visit. Gluten, lactose, vegetarian requirements all met with no fuss whatsoever. We felt welcome, visible and valued. King's Lynn, you have a real gem of a cafe!

Their cheese toasties are amazing great flavoured cheese and the dressing on the side salad compliments it so well and if you get the chance try their cake omg you'll not regret it it's the best I've have and I've had M&S and it beats that hands down

This little cafe is awesome. I sometimes come here so I can get a coronation chicken sandwich and I'm never disappointed. The deserts are good to.

Best short bread I've had hands down

I've been here a few times now and have never been disappointed really fantastic food nice warm and cosy interior and really friendly staff!

We visited again today and chose the Christmas special. We were not disappointed with our sandwiches on granary bread. Turkey, sage and onion stuffing, pork sausage and cranberry sauce. A huge sandwich! Highly recommended!

Breakfast was served on cold plates so the food soon lost its heat. If the sausages are from Priors as they claim, then Priors need to up their game

Visited here for lunch on Saturday 12th November 2022. Previously visited about 2 years ago. was busy and had to queue for about 20minutes but well worth it. The menu has lots and lots of choice. Drinks arrived quickly followed by our sandwiches and baguettes. The bread and fillings are top quality and fairly priced. Customer service from all staff was 1st class. Would certainly go again when in the area.

We went in today and both decided to have the small breakfast at £5, with a coffee each too, and paid £15.50 for the lot. Excellent value with a sausage, bacon, fried egg, baked beans, tomato and a slice of toast with butter. Couldn’t fault it, and easily as good as breakfast in places where they charge twice the price.

Good food, decent portions, locally sourced meats, selection of home baked quiche, cakes etcetera too. Eat in or takeout. Sandwiches, Baguettes, Panini, salad boxes and baked potatoes and more.

Quality place to eat. All fresh and wholesome ingredients, it makes such a change to go to a place such as this rather than the unhealthy burger restaurants that King's Lynn has in abundance.

I come here when I am working in town. They do a really good granary sandwich. I normally get Tuna and Coleslaw or egg and cress. The bread is lovely and thick, the butter is very nice, and they certainly give you enough filling, which really makes the sandwich worth eating. If you are in King's Lynn and need a sandwich, try this place. They are busy for a reason. Takeaway is normally quick to serve too.

Firstly I remember the original filling station which was superb. Found the Decor with the screens to loud and bright and enclosed think these need removing now to make the place get the natural light back through. I don’t like to complain in the premises as other customers here and it might put them off. Food was beautiful only complaint on that was sausages were nicely flavoured but very bitty and a bit dry. Beans were warm I like mine red hot. Butter was few and far between four tiny lumps only covered two half’s of toast. Orange juice was very cheap and coffee was terrible I think that’s the worst coffee I have ever had it was just hot water with a touch of coffee I could see bottom of cup. I wouldn’t mind paying more for a Decent orange juice and a strong coffee I understand there is competition but this cafe is perfect for a quick stop and I will be back The staff are excellent

Always excellent . Quality home cooked food , lots of choice . Always clean and tidy . Staff really nice and friendly and helpful ! I was going to order individual sandwiches, scones and drinks but the lovely lady behind the till advised me to get afternoon tea instead as it worked out pretty much the same price but we got an extra slice of cake - we took it home and they kindly provided a bag and paper plate . Prompt efficient service no fuss and they seemed to have a really good system operating . Lots of staff . Lots of food in and out of the kitchen area , very organised . Great to see .

Wow fantastic food. I had the hot beef, caramelised onions and horseradish on granary bread, not the white bab. Perfect. My boyfriend had the brie, grape and walnuts on granary bread.He said that it was the best ever.We also shared a bakewell cake. This was so good we didn't have time to photograph it! We highly recommend this place. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy. So good we have returned and it was still amazing. Thankyou

Looked all around Kings Lynn for a spot that had vegetarian/vegan food and that didn't sell pre-made sandwiches. This was a welcome sight for my hungry girlfriend and I. Really nice and quick service

I love this place. Coming to back to Lynn often to take my mum out we often walk the square and end up here and I have never been disappointed. It may only be small but my mum who has a large walker always manages the customers are pleasant the staff are lovely and the peanut butter slices are to die for. You also get a decent cuppa. So if its a quick lunch on the go or a nice sit down in the warm give it a go, jacket potatoes sandwiches rolls and I nice well dressed side salad but make sure you leave me a peanut butter slice many delicious cakes etc available. I went in here for the first time today as it looked so inviting from the outside. The staff were extremely friendly. I only had a simple meal, a cheese baked potato, I was cooked perfectly and the salad that accompanied it was very fresh and well presented. Their hot chocolate was just right too. The decor was bright and cheerful too with decorated screens between the tables.

Cannot thank you enough for the grazing table you created for our party lastnight. Absolutely amazing quality and presentation!! Everyone commented on how beautiful it was and that they hadn't seen anything like it! You're amazing 🙂 thank you so, so much! Would recommend these guys for any function!!

We visited The Filling Station for coffee and cake while we were on a staycation to Norfolk at the end of September. The cakes were to die for and the coffee good too!! Fab decor & really friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too!! Highly recommended...

Can I highly recommend this lovely cafe in kings lyn town centre. The food is proper food good portion sizes and a great selection. The staff are great. However if you do go around lunch time it gets busy as they also do a takeaway...

Absolutely amazing the food was so delicious and well presented

Had a baguette and dessert here when we popped to Kings Lynn over the weekend. What I will say is if you're thinking of having one each, you could definitely split one between two. The Millionaires Slice and Peanut Butter Slice were huuuge but really tasty. The baguette was fresh and definitely not stingy on the filling, which is good considering the name 😂 If you find yourself in town and want a bite to eat, this is a safe bet! Service was really friendly too.

We came to Kings Lynn for a visit. I am always very keen to go independent when visiting places and having coffee. We arrived as they were putting their chairs outside, they said our dog could sit outside, brought her some water and they pushed...

Looks can be deceiving. Went here based on Google reviews. A wide selection of sandwiches, baguettes, and paninis made to order. Plenty of filling and side salad. I opted for the Greek salad. Was astounded by the size and quality. Why 4* and not 5*? Not a great place if you're coming for a coffee. Drinkable, but definitely not a coffee shop. Friendly service. Recommended.

Very generous potions, I had the ploughmans salad, my partner had the greek salad, wonderful freshly made food full of flavour. Great service, the staff are courteous and professional, a credit to the establishment.

Called in today to have a pot of tea for two. Had a piece of cake between us. Delicious cake (they are all made on the premises according to the notice), and the slices are generous. Prices are reasonable too. We will return.

Used their outside catering as well for a funeral,which was excellent, would highly recommend the service was brilliant.Have eaten in the cafe which was just as good.

Busy so a short wait for food but everything was nicely made and fresh. Good well filled paninis with a decent side salad and dressing. The coffee was a bit of a let down too. The takeaway menu is very large and prominent which lures...
