Never again. Food is good, but staff, including the manager, make your experience the worst ever. Asking for a large latte I was answered “if you want a large coffee go to Costa” (then I learned this was the manager). They have a 1.5 hour stay policy, which is understandable, but the approach from the waitress was absolutely terrible. After having our breakfast and still enjoying our second round of coffee they come to tell us if we’re ready for the bill as we need to leave. They don’t even allow you time to figure out how to split the bill, they start cleaning the table without even allowing you to finish what you still have. Absolutely ridiculous place

Lovely restaurant, the service was great and I would say the prices were very affordable with 2 courses at £28.90, with steak included. I was very impressed with the quality and the cost of this was very reasonable. The restaurant is small, but the quality of the food was excellent and the steak was delicious.

This cheerful pub gave us a warm welcome on a cold and windy December night. It was very busy, but service was brisk. The menu has lots of nice choices, I went for steak, stout and Bingham blue cheese pie. It was obviously a handmade pie with nice short pastry. The filling was okay but I couldn’t taste the blue cheese. A lovely meal, with good service.

We chose La Sirena having been before, for a pre Christmas family meal. The food was a bit slow coming but hey plenty of time to catch up with family over drinks. When it did arrive the food as always, superb and plentiful. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating. I would recommend this eaterie for lunch and dinner.

A total of 5 of us booked for Sunday lunch and were accommodated in a private dining room, which itself was very pleasant. However, of the 3 scotch eggs ordered, only 2 were available. The roast chicken was not available at all. That apart, the most frustrating element concerned the pannacotta desserts. Two were ordered and both were deemed to be of strange taste and texture, and were left largely uneaten. The waitress was told this and she went to confer. When she came back she said that she had tasted them and thought they were fine, and indeed the chef had reportedly told her that that was how they were. 'As an gesture of goodwill' she deducted the cost of 1 from the bill. The bill came to over £250, additionally 2 of our party were staying at the hotel and furthermore an absent family member had bought a bottle of champagne separately for us to enjoy with the meal. All that, and they could only reduce the bill by £9.50! To my mind a more appropriate thing to do would be to have offered an alternative dessert or deducted the cost of both, rather than the waitress just telling us her opinion.

We visited today, and it was literally like stepping back in time. We haven't been here for years and in past times the scene of so many family celebrations. We went with best friends and it was the greatest start to our Christmas. The staff were so friendly, the food was glorious and the service amazing. We will be back.
