Lovely pub, always made welcome. Great staff.

Recently moved to the village and couldn't love this pub more. Live music and parties in the summer, warm welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. Tried burger night this evening and our family were so impressed. The effort for weddings, parties and events doesn't go unnoticed

I am giving a bad review because of the landlady… (I think she is anyway) One warm afternoon on the way home from work me and my wife decided to stop at the George for a couple of cold drinks and went and sat by the river we had been there for about five minutes when the landlord came over and introduced himself to me and my wife and he seemed a pleasant guy telling us about all the functions he does on different days and his special hand made burgers which he seemed quite proud of which he told me he makes himself.so i asked him if they are spicy because I don’t like spicy food and he assured me that they are certainly were not spicy.So on another day we decided to stop again and try his burger and went and sat out the front of the pub but they were so so spicy that I had to drink my drink and my wife’s orange drink and it was still burning the spice levels was ridiculous she is herself is vegetarian so she obviously didn’t have the burgers..But I just put it down to a bad experience and left it at that.But several weeks later one rather hot afternoon we decided to stop again for a couple of cold drinks..we bought the drinks and went and sat outside the front of the pub and the chair I sat on collapsed the leg just folded resulting in my ripping my arm on the wall and me putting my back out so the barmaid came out she was perfectly fine and I said it’s okay please don’t worry about it then the landlord came out and he was okay as well and he then examined the other few chairs and decided they were were all about to fail and said I will replace them all so still no problems then the landlady the (Dragon) came out and by stealth she tried blaming me by saying people should not keep moving the chairs yes you read that right you shouldn’t move the chairs (I Am a 16 stone man so normal for a male) had she had not made this derogatory comment this review would not have happened

Wonderful rural pub. Always feel welcome, even though I only spend a few quid. Landlord Brian is a nice person and his homemade burgers on a Friday are out of this world.

Friendly local pub that really feels like the heart of this small community. Burger night on a Friday is phenomenal. Full English breakfasts available on weekends. Good rotation of guest ales on tap. Tea & coffee available on request. Both front and rear bar are dog friendly. Often have a bouncy castle in the summer months.

Lovely little pub, warm & cosy inside & made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in.

We just had our wedding reception here, The buffet was amazing, the pub was decorated beautifully, Landlord and Landlady are fantastic people, friendly people great atmosphere! Highly recommend for events! All of our guests complimented the food and atmosphere. Thank you Brian & Emma for making our day so special ❤️

Everything a great British pub should be. Didn't eat but the drinks were well mixed, staff were lovely and the vibe is traditional 👌

We stopped here for a night in our camper on a whim. It's possibly the friendliest pub I've ever visited. There was a few locals in as it was just a Tuesday night, about all of them at some point acknowledged us or started a conversation about the area etc. The landlord was also super helpful telling us where we could order food from, where to go for walks and of a coffee stall outside the front of the pub in the morning (Kiwi coffee, also amazing and reasonably priced). There was a good selection of drinks and the barman clearly had some passion for cocktails. The pub was also really well decorated for Halloween which was really cool. We felt very welcome and would recommend to our friends and return again if we're in the area.

Stayed here for an overnight stop over in our Motorhome. Landlord couldn't do enough for you. You can order a Takeaway and eat it in the pub and the Breakfast was 10 out of 10! Friendly atmosphere will defernately stay again!

Fantastic breakfast and extremely good value including tea or coffee plus toast too. Could be an excellent place for an early motorcycle run out or classic car neetup.

Excellent pint of Grainstore Ale. We also had their ploughman’s and it was absolutely delicious. The bread rolls were of excellent quality and really tasty. The ploughman’s was served on a slate and there wasn’t a morsel of food left afterwards. They also hold event nights there and we will be back for sure 😊

Lovely place - Brian and Emma are lovely - they really try and they are are there for their customers - I like that - very nice and warm and if you wanna play darts they have a rad dart board - wicked and awesome - plus each holiday they make special

We visited as we were staying at a campsite 5 miles away and found it on Google. Lovely little pub and the landlord and locals were very welcoming. They have a lovely outdoor area and they had a fish and chips van turn up (Tuesday eve). We sat in the new outdoor indoor conservatory at the back. Will definitely be back when we are back in the area.

Visited the area to meet with family & we were welcomed into this pub by the landlord & locals on a busy, sunny Friday evening. Real ales for hubby & range of wines on offer for me. Only burgers on offer when we visited, but that didn’t matter at all as they were fabulous & fresh burgers at that. Plenty of outside seating, bouncy castle & play equipment for youngsters. Would definitely return again, can really recommend a visit!

Great landlord, great locals, great pub

We were very fortunate to have had the first serving of the first Sunday roast from the new tenants at this gem of a pub. The choice was simple, chicken or beef. One of each was promptly served up. Beautiful. The beef cooked to perfection. The chicken tender and flavoursome. Both meals served already plated with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, broccoli and a wonderful leek and bacon gratin. We normally prefer a serve yourself carvery but with the portion control that is applied at The George, we can only strongly suggest you take a doggy bag. Portions are generous. Coupled to the range of well kept beers and a warm and welcoming attitude both from staff and regulars you risk missing out if you don't stop and take a look. Weekend mornings there is a wholesome breakfast on offer. Booking in advance is essential. For a casual evening out try the cheese and meats platter. Its a great sharing platter suitable for 2 or more people. We do not live in the village but these tenants deserve to succeed for the effort they put in to every aspect of their offering.

Lovely cosy pub recently re opened under new ownership by the river in Ramsey Forty Foot. Good selection of drinks, nice beer garden and breakfast served at weekends. Along with themed days and the promise of more to come. Hopefully a bar menu soon!New owners are going the extra mile!

Great pub in Ramsey Forty Foot. It has new owners and they have done a great job decorating, has a very cozy feel. They have a few guest beers and just started doing breakfasts and pub lunches. Large beer garden with benches. Will be going back!

Fun filled night caveners were brilliant

We have passed the George Inn many times on our wayward travels. I'm delighted to finally have the opportunity to stop there for lunch. We were treated to great home cooked food made on the premises. The service was good and a we received a very warm welcome. Be advised, the menu is not extensive however, more than adequate for lunch. Overall, a very positive experience.

Big place, some outdoor seating. Quiet the day we went in which was a bank holiday. Parking out the back

Stayed overnight in campervan,friendly, bar &drinks good,no food being served and no contact phone number or e mail so couldn't find out anything before we got there.noisy road so awake very early.a lovely friendly village pub!

This pub looks tired from the outside,but don't go by this.They have a chalkboard outside advertising lunchtime deals.Once inside there is a large log fire in a bar that again could do with a makeover but is very homely.The food was excellent with a reasonable menu that at lunchtime is extremely good value for money.The beer was well kept and food wholesome.Will certainly be revisiting with a good welcome made from the staff.

This potentially could be my new local. Called in on a Thursday night (steak night). Had two well cooked steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. The staff were very friendly and the landlord (and chef) came to check everything was OK. Small local pub, friendly and welcoming, no frills but that's how I like my pubs!

We went here as the new manager used to be the chef at The Windmill in Somersham (our favourite local pub) and the food was always excellent. We had a sunday roast and was not dissapointed. Looking forward to returning soon as we had a sneaky peek at the menu and it looks great. They've given the pub a lick of paint, some nice local pictures are on the walls and there is a relaxed atmosphere with young and old punters. Overall we were pleased with our meal and at £8.50 we felt it was good value for money.
