Great local pub run by proper caring landlords. Decent range of food choices from small to full plate options. Regular changing selection of real ales a bonus.

Superb meal on their Steak night. Service, food excellent in a warm, cosy pub setting. With carpet and curtains it was easy to talk and hear each other, which was an added bonus.

Cosy town pub with friendly staff. Has guest real ales which change regularly. Good lunch menu and also specials evening such as Thursday steak night and Friday fish & chips.

Great traditional local with a fantastic atmosphere.

There for friends birthday very nice meal.

What a nice change to see a place with life, food on most days, advisable booking for the steak nights, the Sunday lunch was fully booked after 1pm but managed to find a place a bit earlier and it came before. The ale was a green king ipa. Which was OK and no complaints, which makes a change from me. A carpark to the rear worth a look again.

I stopped here for lunch on a cycle ride from London to York and I was so glad I did. Great little pub that refueled me completely - nice food and well kept Guinness. But the highlight was how friendly the barmaid was. Sorry I didn't catch her name but she was great; full of banter and I was made to feel very welcome.

Popped in for lunch, fantastic attentive service throughout. Lovely food sweet chilli kebabs and hand cut chips!

Mar-2022: Dropped by late one Saturday afternoon at the end of a long walk in the cold and drizzle. Surprisingly busy - difficult to find a seat for 4 people. Felt warm and cosy, like a good local should.

Had the Sunday roast, was lovely, can't fault it, and the staff where amazing, so busy yet still remained happy and polite, one waitress very kindly took the time to take some group photos of us, would definatley recommend

It's my first visit, and definitely we'll be coming back, we had the roast and it was very big, very tasty and very good priced 😁. Is a nice pub, dog, kids and baby friendly. Car park at the rear is a bonus. I highly recommend.

Great local, a short walk from St Neots town centre (but a much longer walk from the station!). Well kept beer, friendly staff and customer/s. Gets very busy on "Steak Night (Thursday)" so booking is almost essential.

Food was fine, service not good due to lack of staff but the waitresses were pleasant.

Lovely traditional pub with inside and outside seating. I went for lunch with work colleagues and the sandwiches, baguettes and omelette we had were excellent and very good value for money. A special mention for the chips which were really crispy on the outside and light and fluffy in the middle, as they should be. Loads of tempting specials on the board like steak and ale pie and sausage and mash, so I think I might be going back next time I'm in the area.

Just been to lunch with some friends and I opted for the lamb shank in minted gravy. Beautifully tender lamb fell off the bone, individual dish of fresh vegetables and new potatoes. Friendly cheerful waitress ? Toni?. Home cooking and local butcher for meat. We’ll be back 🥳 Shirley

We have had a weekly lunch with friends at the BM for almost 2 years. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are unfailingly polite, friendly and welcoming. We have no hesitation in recommending the Barley Mow to you all!

This is a bit of a strange review, as we didn't sample the drinks or food. But the lovely lady that dealt with us deserves a mention, as she went out of her way to help us. We wanted to eat out last night at the last minute and booked a table at the pub.When we arrived, we were welcomed warmly and shown to our table. A lady came to take our drinks order, and I asked for the menu. She then said that they didn't do food on Saturday evenings at that time. We obviously looked devastated, and she spent the next fifteen minutes phoning or looking up local pubs and restaurants trying to find somewhere for us to go. No luck, so we left and managed to find a restaurant in Bedford on our way home. I didn't catch this lady's name, but she really touched us with how much she tried to help us, which she really didn't need to. So thank you, whoever you are!! You are a credit to the hospitality industry!

Remember the Spinal Tap film where the amp went up to 11? Well this review should go up to 6! 16 of us descended on the pub. OK so we'd already phoned ahead yesterday with food orders but still, a 6 pm booking with everyone finished their main course by 6:30 showed an incredible organisation on behalf of both the serving and kitchen staff. And it continued like that, mains cleared away quickly, desserts well organised, drinks delivered in a trice. It really was impressive service, and with a smile. Lovely friendly and helpful barstaff.Oh I haven't mentioned the food, I don't think there was a single complaint from 16 not easily pleased folks. Large portions of well cooked and presented decent pub grub at great prices. We were so impressed we made a point of asking the manager to come over so we're could personally thank her. Not sure I've ever felt the need to do that before.Beers were good too, but then again the pub is in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide so no real surprise.Probably no real surprise either that I would say HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Aside from having some classic pub food and a couple of drinks, all at a very fair price I might add, the customer service we received at Barley Mow was very genial and pleasant. We were able to chat with the friendly staff who all followed COVID-19 measures put in place to a man. It was very well adhered to.The egg mayo baguette – which was very mayo-y! – cost 6 GBP which also included sweet potato fries and a twenty-five per cent discount on top! All in all, this was a good visit. A lovely, classic pub and bar.

Called in on spec on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly greeting and seated straight away. Fairly basic menu and food, but appeared to be giving good attention to Covid precautions. Food was well cooked and the service was good

We booked a Sunday dinner whilst staying at the camping and caravan site. The staff were all extremely friendly, making us very welcome. The roasts, were the best we've had in a long time! Very generous portions with plenty of fresh vegetables. The roast potatoes were absolutely delicious. We look forward to a return visit! I must also add covid regulations were of high standard.

Three of us had lunch day before yesterday; great food, large portions, reasonable prices. All the staff were very friendly. Pub has a lovely atmosphere and will be going back.

This was the first time we had visited this pub, it was recommended by an acquaintance.Two of the party were in there 80s, the father in-law celebrating his 89th birthday,we were seated straight away and drinks ordered.Service was first class, the menu was varied enough to satisfy everyone in the group.The food was delicious and portions were huge and enough to keep us all happy.Definitely a place we hope to return to often.

Yesterday we met brother and sister in law for a Sunday lunch meal... Right from the outset, nicely seated, not crowded although busy, great beers and wine, attentive service and timely ordering... The food was served hot and very tasty... again non intrusive but attentive friendly service.. Standard roasted were great as was the fish dishes and standard pub fare.. Crowned off with a VERY reasonable bill, all I can say is highly recommended and we will return!

Visited for steak night. Absolutely amazed at how good the steak was and the chips were incredible. Great atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

Called in today for a small lunch and I asked the waitress if we could share the soup and sandwich deal as I only wanted a couple of sandwiches. This wasn’t a problem and what we got was delicious!! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the flowers outside were amazing!!

The staff had allocated an area inside or out weather permitting ! We had a fabulous day celebrating they allowed me to store the cake away for a surprise ... rainbow cheesecake ! Fantastic day ❤️

A great 'local' pub at the bottom of Crosshall Road near the Riverside Park. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is very good, with special weekly 'steak' and 'fish' nights (booking advised - these are very popular! - 01480 474435) and a good lunchtime menu of hot and cold meals. There is always a good range of well-cellared beers, including carefully selected guest ales. There is a car park and garden seating area, with really nice flowers and hanging baskets.
