Great venue and staff attentive. We had a close family wake here with private area, and space for the children to play outside.

Just popped in for a quick drink. Did not stay long. Staff friendly

We don't know the area but fell upon this lovely pub and went in for some lunch. AMAZING home cooked food, portions are good, staff are friendly and its resonably priced. Would definately recommend.

The Barley Mow is exactly how I imagine the perfect village pub to be. The welcome you get on arrival is warm and friendly. The beer is to die for. Best pint in town by a country mile. That’s Greene King Abbot Ale served in tip top condition. Perfection in a pint! Then there is the food. We were in for Thursday Steak Night. The steaks are cooked exactly to your requirements. All are of the highest quality. The chips and veg are excellent and there is plenty of them. The mushroom sauce we had perfectly complemented the meal. All home made and super tasty. Must mention the lovely staff. We were served by Leah, Connie and Rachel. What a team! They couldn’t do enough for us. So helpful. So friendly. And they actually talk to you and have a bit of a laugh. Such a refreshing attitude. The pub is warm and cosy. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful.We will be returning some time very soon. Highly recommended.

What a lovely friendly Pub, we went with friends and had Sunday Dinner. Explant food and plenty of it, the same with the puddings, we shell defiantly go there again, and we have told other friends about this lovely friendly Pub, and there food.

Superb meal on their Steak night. Service, food excellent in a warm, cosy pub setting. With carpet and curtains it was easy to talk and hear each other, which was an added bonus.

What a nice change to see a place with life, food on most days, advisable booking for the steak nights, the Sunday lunch was fully booked after 1pm but managed to find a place a bit earlier and it came before. The ale was a green king ipa. Which was OK and no complaints, which makes a change from me. A carpark to the rear worth a look again.

This is probably the most friendly pub we have ever been in, the staff were absolutely delightful. The food was very reasonable and of good quality, steak night was excellent as was the Sunday roast. I doubt we will ever come back to St Neots, however the staff at the Barley Mow would be the one reason to return. Made out holiday x

Such a fantastic pub / diner. Had lunch today , a group of 6 celebrating a friends 70th birthday. The food was excellent at very reasonable prices. A great menu with additional specials on the black board. The service here is out of this world. Great staff who go way beyond the extra mile .Thank you from the lunch bunch!!!

Had an excellent lunch today at very reasonable prices. Two of us had the Lamb shanks with vegetables and new potatoes, and the other had baked salmon from the day's specials. Service was friendly and efficient, the portions were generous and the food delicious. The baked salmon was I think £10.95 and the Lamb shanks £11.95 The wine choice was perhaps a little limited but adequate. A good choice of beer was available. Well worth the visit.

Been going to the Barley for years - yesterday we had steak pie for lunch - it was terrific and great value for money in these inflationary days. Its a great spot for lunch and the Thursday steak night is not to be missed (but do book in advance) Karen, the landlady has been there for about 15 years now (I think) and is always cheery with a warm welcome for all. Her special power is in choosing staff. Like Karen herself, all her staff are hard-working, cheerful and very efficient. Ten out of ten all round

On a trip to 'That London' took the scenic route down the A1, never been to St.Neots but planned to have lunch in the vicinity, the town centre was a little busy, it being Jubilee Weekend, the first pub out of the town, heading back to the A1, is this one and what a nice place !! a nice selection of real ales, an excellent lunch menu, it helped that it was a sunny day because the outside seating area is good too, so we used it !! The staff were helpful & friendly, the food was tasty (the plates were hot (one of my wife's pet hates is hot food on cold plates, so that was good too)

You can be sure of a warm welcome at the Barley Mow. The food is excellent and the service first class and personal. Comprehensive choice on the menu and there is also a good specials board every day.

I stopped here for lunch on a cycle ride from London to York and I was so glad I did. Great little pub that refueled me completely - nice food and well kept Guinness. But the highlight was how friendly the barmaid was. Sorry I didn't catch her name but she was great; full of banter and I was made to feel very welcome.

6 of us had a fabulous St Patricks day evening. We all chose steaks which were all perfectly cooked. Karen’s hand cooked chips are always off the chart amazing. Friendly staff(especially Toni 😉), fabulous food and great value make this the best pub in the area by far. Had a great Sunday roast dinner today at this amazingly friendly pub. Food is fantastic, service is equally superb and pricing is all round reasonable. BUT...what sets this place apart is the Great welcome to one and all and the continued excellent friendly service from all the staff. A very friendly and welcoming place.

Had the Sunday roast, was lovely, can't fault it, and the staff where amazing, so busy yet still remained happy and polite, one waitress very kindly took the time to take some group photos of us, would definatley recommend

Mar-2022: Dropped by late one Saturday afternoon at the end of a long walk in the cold and drizzle. Surprisingly busy - difficult to find a seat for 4 people. Felt warm and cosy, like a good local should.

It's my first visit, and definitely we'll be coming back, we had the roast and it was very big, very tasty and very good priced 😁. Is a nice pub, dog, kids and baby friendly. Car park at the rear is a bonus. I highly recommend.

Great local, a short walk from St Neots town centre (but a much longer walk from the station!). Well kept beer, friendly staff and customer/s. Gets very busy on "Steak Night (Thursday)" so booking is almost essential.

Food was fine, service not good due to lack of staff but the waitresses were pleasant.

Lovely traditional pub with inside and outside seating. I went for lunch with work colleagues and the sandwiches, baguettes and omelette we had were excellent and very good value for money. A special mention for the chips which were really crispy on the outside and light and fluffy in the middle, as they should be. Loads of tempting specials on the board like steak and ale pie and sausage and mash, so I think I might be going back next time I'm in the area.

We have had a weekly lunch with friends at the BM for almost 2 years. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are unfailingly polite, friendly and welcoming. We have no hesitation in recommending the Barley Mow to you all!

This is a bit of a strange review, as we didn't sample the drinks or food. But the lovely lady that dealt with us deserves a mention, as she went out of her way to help us. We wanted to eat out last night at the last minute and booked a table at the pub. When we arrived, we were welcomed warmly and shown to our table. A lady came to take our drinks order, and I asked for the menu. She then said that they didn't do food on Saturday evenings at that time. We obviously looked devastated, and she spent the next fifteen minutes phoning or looking up local pubs and restaurants trying to find somewhere for us to go. No luck, so we left and managed to find a restaurant in Bedford on our way home. I didn't catch this lady's name, but she really touched us with how much she tried to help us, which she really didn't need to. So thank you, whoever you are!! You are a credit to the hospitality industry!

Remember the Spinal Tap film where the amp went up to 11? Well this review should go up to 6! 16 of us descended on the pub. OK so we'd already phoned ahead yesterday with food orders but still, a 6 pm booking with everyone finished their main course by 6:30 showed an incredible organisation on behalf of both the serving and kitchen staff. And it continued like that, mains cleared away quickly, desserts well organised, drinks delivered in a trice. It really was impressive service, and with a smile. Lovely friendly and helpful barstaff.Oh I haven't mentioned the food, I don't think there was a single complaint from 16 not easily pleased folks. Large portions of well cooked and presented decent pub grub at great prices. We were so impressed we made a point of asking the manager to come over so we're could personally thank her. Not sure I've ever felt the need to do that before.Beers were good too, but then again the pub is in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide so no real surprise.Probably no real surprise either that I would say HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Aside from having some classic pub food and a couple of drinks, all at a very fair price I might add, the customer service we received at Barley Mow was very genial and pleasant. We were able to chat with the friendly staff who all followed COVID-19 measures put in place to a man. It was very well adhered to.The egg mayo baguette – which was very mayo-y! – cost 6 GBP which also included sweet potato fries and a twenty-five per cent discount on top! All in all, this was a good visit. A lovely, classic pub and bar.

Called in on spec on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly greeting and seated straight away. Fairly basic menu and food, but appeared to be giving good attention to Covid precautions. Food was well cooked and the service was good
