The best restaurants in East of England

I've probably eaten here >30 times in the last 3 years, always great quality, big portions and a reasonable price.. book in advance as they are routinely at capacity by about 1pm or 6.30pm...

Good food and a pleasant atmosphere with service to match. Would recommend this intimate restaurant for a good night out at reasonable cost.

Haddock fresh and cooked perfectly in excellent batter. Chips light gold, crisp and fluffy. Mushy peas good. Ordered a quick ad hoc meal and enjoyed a feast.

We came in on short notice for a family meal. The staff were extremely accommodating and Martessa was able to ensure any modifications to the menu were done perfectly. Also thanks to the chef who cooked it all to perfection.

A wonderful pub with great staff and food. I would highly recommend this pub, just as a friend recommended it to us.

We turned up scruffy after a local judo event and late too, we were very underdressed lol The staff were amazing and the food was fantastic too. I wish I had have taken some pictures, as the food wasn't just brilliant flavours but really well presented. Thanks again to all the super attentive staff, you were amazing.

Allesandra was one of, if not THE best waitress we have ever had. She has been incredibly attentive, and kind.

I had a New York steak, my wife the carpaccio and moules mariniere and some beers and wine. The food was delicious and the portions generous, the atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent - very attentive and polite. We were lucky to have a nice view over the river too. Would recommend this place if you like steaks

Really good find on a Wednesday night. The man with a beard who served us was down to earth and very friendly. The bread and butter starter served two of us and the mains was tasty and good portion. Got given a freebie too which was nice. Bar area upstsirs looked cool.

We stayed for my partners 30th birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special even put a birthday card in the room which was a nice touch. The spa was excellent and food was delicious. Breakfast was included which was nice. Disliked - Live music at the bar was fantastic but the £8 price for a pint (Menabrea being £8.60 for a pint of lager) resulted in an almost empty bar. It's a real shame, if they had priced the drink a bit lower I think the bar would have been a really busy and lively atmosphere. And as a result people would probably spend more! At 9:30pm it was only us and another couple. We stayed for one drink as it was over to £20 for a pint and a 250ml glass of wine. Simply could justify paying those prices.

Went here for a breakfast no salt or pepper or any thing on tables paid £9 for a breakfast no tea or coffee inc was very basic food and not much of it. I have had many breakfast.s all over and this was the worst so far

Have been a number of times for lunch/dinner over the last few years. Consistently good service, great selection and good value. Friendly staff, too. Sunday veg roasts are a delight; cauli cheese sublime. Twix cheesecake last Sunday was amazing.

What a place. Very busy subsequently slow service. Watch the chefs cook, lovely experience oh boy can they cook. Wish I lived nearer to use more often . Great meal

Best food in Luton. Falafel is very delicius.

Great place to come with friends. bar tenders super friendly especially Max, and drinks are a good price. Pizza is delicious.
