The Smokehouse in Great Yarmouth

Absolutely stunning food. We had the burger with rib meat, and the burger with brisket (no food photos because we ate it). Can't fault the service. Only staying locally for a week, but will definitely return before we leave. Update: Returned today Had a BBQ blowout, and a rack of ribs. Need a fork truck to be removed from the building. Banging food, faultless. Photos from this trip. Brewski is a bonus too, not a bad lager at all.

Very disappointing again!! 2nd time I've came and decided to give it ago again. Had chicken wings.. they were very boring, pink near the bone and dry on the outside like they have been either deep fried or re heated!! Sauce on side was ok ish. Onion rings came with 2 pots of sauce, both pots had a thick skin on the top!! Both warm so weren't cold from the fridge!! Paid £60 for 3 meals. Also..241 was mentioned on the bill but advertised or mentioned by the staff. Won't be returning sadly.

Popped in after I’ve heard such good things from friends who had been, highly recommended place if you like the BBQ American dining. Really quirky place, clearly have spent a lot of money the get the place to the standard it is, a lot of wall art, nice furnishings etc. I will definitely be returning when I’m next this way. Service was really nice as well especially the waitress we had, we were a big table for 13 but all the food pretty much came out together and no one had any complaints.

Amelia looked after us and was quick, attentive with no request too much for her. The food was very nice and portion size well worth the money. The combination of background music, attentive staff and tasty food made our visit well worthwhile

Very disappointed, came all the way from Surrey to try this out whilst on holiday and it really let us down. We ordered steak for a main witch we asked for medium well and it came out so burnt it wasn’t eatable. We also ordered chicken wings that came out with blood in them so shocking could have give us food poisoning if we didn’t notice. Manager was also rude when trying to resolve. Overall will not be coming back and do not recommend

I very rarely write reviews, however this experience warrants it. Having decided to take a long weekend away, my partner and I drove past this place and thought ‘Hm, why not?’ From start to finish the service was incredible. No faults there. I had the ribs, my partner had the sirloin. I cannot even describe how good the food was. We sat in silence the whole time due to just enjoying the food. If I could be super critical, the only think I would change is that the sweet potato fries weren’t crispy enough for my liking, but that is being very very critical! Absolutely immense food, melt in your mouth meat, great portions, decent price point. Definitely recommend a milkshake!! Thanks so much. Wish we lived closer as this would become our go to date night!

Lovely food , good service but can be very slow at time. Some of the waitresses have spoken badly about each other and made drama in front of me whilst im trying to have a nice meal, and I do not feel this is very professional. It gets very busy most days, so booking is highly recommended. And the car parking is very limited. But apart from the negatives, I do go back as the food is so nice.

Food was excellent, service was good, although when it came to the desserts, things were slightly wrong, one of our group asked for ice cream and custard, but only got custard, I asked for cream and cold fudge cake, but got ice cream and warm cake, not too bad that we felt the need to mention it, don't think it was the fault of the server either as she repeated back what we'd asked for, and it was right. We went on a Saturday, so really busy and quite loud, I would say essential to book as it's very popular, we were given a time slot of 6.45pm til 8.30pm and we were finished in that time, but didn't feel rushed. Would definitely go again.

First time visiting here tonight, really good food and exceptional service. Was served by a lovely waitress called lottie, she put up with our humour and was really down to earth. Her service along with the food made the night very funny and overall had a good time.

Food wasn’t as good as expected, have heard lots of things about this place, didn’t fully live up my expectations. Pork belly burnt ends weren’t cooked well at all, and the Texas tostadas were very small for the price overall good flavour though, fried onion were a little over salted but still nice and the chips and sauces were great. Milkshake was really good too; overall not a bad experience just not as good as the hype and the pork was disappointing considering it’s a smoke house.

Great night out. Live music food food and lots of great bikes

Went to great Yarmouth for a little break with my family. Came across this place and quickly became out favourite place to eat. Real smoked meat that tastes heavenly. Staff are very helpful and very friendly . Decor is cozy and in keeping with smokehouse theme. Make sure you book though as it is very popular. Highly recommend.

Excellent food Excellent staff. Branwen went the extra mile by phoning a member of staff who coming into work bring so.e milk and margarine which we had forgotten to bring with us to where we were staying.

Great dinner for various celebrations or just a nice evening. Lots to choose from for meat lovers. Kids happy too.

Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff

18 booked in short notice on saturday, thank you. All the food was lush no complaints and was very suprised with how quick from order to delivering to the table all at once not staggered. Plenty of door seating a small park if you have kids. Smiling staff as you walk in to greet you and seat you and very helpful all the staff were nice.

We recently visited and were really impressed with the service — our server had a fantastic attitude and a genuine "can-do" approach that made us feel welcome and looked after. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations, especially considering the price. We spent over £100 for two people, and the value just wasn’t there. The ribs were dry and lacked flavour aside from heavy smokiness, and while the burgers were decent, they too felt a bit bland. Overall, the mains and starters were underwhelming, and the portion sizes were quite small for the price that was expected. The highlight of the meal was definitely the desserts. Both the brownie and cheesecake were delicious and felt more in line with what we expected for the price. Great service, but sadly, the food didn’t justify the cost. !

Lovely food American restaurant

Have used several times. Service and food has deteriorated each time we go. This will certainly be the last. Previous visit was spoiled by poor service from start to finish. Whilst eating the main we ended up having to listen to the staff moaning about customers taking too long to eat and leave. If they came over and served quicker this would certainly help rather than standing chatting amongst each other. This time we were greeted by a young host who took us to a table. She chucked the menu down and said she will return with the kids menu. Never returned and decided to go speak with someone she knew on a different table. Wasn’t very busy but took 15 minutes to be seen for drinks. Still no kids menu and had to ask again. Steak was dry and not cooked to what we requested. Wrong sides given and portions have definitely shrunk. I’d recommend removing the American flags soon and swapping for the little chef logo.

We visited this place for my husbands birthday after being recommended by a friend. On entering it’s a really nice American diner type vibe. We were greeted after 5mins then seated at a booth which was nice. What wasn’t nice was your staff!!! Appalled by their childish behaviour. It wasn’t warm where we were sitting, I suffer from illnesses which make me susceptible to feeling cold very easily. Your staff found it hilarious that I was sitting with my coat on. One in particular, didn’t get her name, very young looking, dark hair, black T-shirt scrunched up and grey leggings ( very professional NOT!!) This girl and another were whispering and giggling and then proceeded to turn the air conditioning on. As I said the place wasn’t warm and this was done out of pure pettiness. A couple behind us even commented on how cold the place had turned. I was then approached by an older lady who was laughing and said “ u feeling the cold?” Then walked away smirking. I’m absolutely disgusted by this. I ordered a burger and chips, and smashed patty my backside!! It looked like something straight out the birdseye factory. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old cold oil. Needless to say there was no way I was taking a bite of the burger, the place was freezing to the point I left my family to have their food and I walked out of your restaurant and into my car for some heat. Family said food was average. But your staff are petty and disgusting. I visited last month so this isn’t an angry review. I gave it stars purely for the decor. Would NEVER visit here again. The whole outside which looks like a dumping ground stank of utter grease.

Burnt burger, greasy chips.. and staff act like kids wouldn't be returning

Definitely gone down hill.. ribs were tough, the burger was black and over cooked, chips are soaked in oil still makes you wanna be sick eating them.. service tool along time and it wasn't busy the staff too worried about talking and joking around with each other at the bar. I would not recommend sorry

We dropped in on a Tuesday evening thinking it would be quiet and no need to book a table. We where wrong. It was nicely full but thankfully the amazing staff got us in. The food was a bit of wait but I don't mind waiting when it was a good as we got. The staff really took care of us and we'd be happy to go again, but we will deffo book next time

First time visit to this establishment, great atmosphere and the wait staff were attentive. Food was decent sized portions, the other patrons seemed to be also having a good time. Will visit again in the summer time hopefully with a car show. If they do an outdoor cookout.

We come here twice a year when visiting. The food us always plentiful and cooked to perfection. The only downside on our latest visit was the lack of parking.

The place was heaving, food was good but it let's itself down by adding a 7.5% service charge and VAT. Nowhere did I see this before the bill arrived. We'd paid a fiver each up front and it didn't matter how we calculated the bill we couldn't arrive at their figure. Overcharged! What a shame.

Great tasting meat. Even when we were nearly an hour late for our booking they accommodated us with no troubles. The collection of American cars make for a great conversation.

Not sure where to begin with this, not one to normally do reviews but felt the need to share this terrible experience. 9 of us came here for an 18th birthday and was just clearly to much for both the front of house and kitchen staff on a Wednesday night. Our problems that we faced with this establishment ranged from cold food for all 9 people that took 45 minutes to arrive, to rude staff who quote “didn’t like to argue” but continued to argue with us stating after we received new food that was hot that we were wrong and “all there awards show how good they are” now I like to think a place with good food and good service shouldn’t need to point out the award but should let everything do the talking. After sharing our dissatisfaction with the staff and the manager we were ignored and all staff displayed child like behaviour which was a complete shock. Overall not at all happy with both services and food and believe the situation was dealt with poorly and unprofessionally. I hope anyone who dares visit either has a better experience or is up for an argument.

Wasn't impressed with my brisket of beef was full of fat and husbands steak was cold when received

We visited the smokehouse on Monday for my mums birthday and the food was lovely. Unfortunately the waitress was not very helpful. We had children with us and asked about the milkshakes and if they had bits in(kids are fussy) she told us they didn’t but when it came was full of them. We ordered a coke and Coke Zero and when they arrived she didn’t know which was which and when we asked if she could find out she told us the bar was too busy and she couldn’t. While trying to order food she stopped us and said sorry my manager is screaming down my ear and turned her radio off. It just felt unprofessional and made us worry about if we would receive the correct food. We asked about the magician as he had said he would pop over to our table and she complained she just got in her way. My parents have been a few times and never had this kind of service, just disappointing as it was a birthday treat and didn’t leave the best impression.

Having now visited twice. It appears that they are unable to cope when busy. We were told that their would be long delays for food so therefore advised not to order starters separate. The good was nice and no complaints other than we asked for something to not be on plate as allergic and yet the plate still arrived with it on. Service was ok. The waitress was sweet but struggling with the number of tables she had to cover. It took a while before we could order a drink. Our drinks arrived incorrect and we were missing food.

Great food, staff and atmosphere.

1st time here and it was amazing, the food was excellent the service was good and the waitresses Were brilliant , which we tipped well. My only tiny little comment is my food could have been warmer, or even if the plates had been warm would have solved the issue . I did mention this and it was sorted very quickly. Hence the 5 star rating. Thank you guys we had a fabulous evening and will be returning.

Visited this American styled BBQ steakhouse on a Saturday 29.03.2025 evening having phoned to book a table late in the afternoon. Staff met us at reception on arrival and showed us to a table . We ordered a couple of drinks and then came the only minor issue, albeit very minor. We ordered a beer and a gin with mixer and only got the beer and mixer. This issue was soon resolved, food order was taken and starters of spicy strips arrived with BBQ sauce. got to say these did not last long. Mains arrived and these were superb, sirloin steak cooked to perfection and 30oz mixed grill again perfectly cooked. Everything on the plates was delicious although eyes bigger than the belly. Could not finish but was able to take a doggy bag (for the dog) honestly. Atmosphere was friendly and meal came to £95. would recommend to anyone.

Visited here last night and was thoroughly impressed! Ordered the strawberry cheesecake milkshake and I must admit I had reservations about how good this would be, I suspected this may only be actually be a strawberry milkshake and no cheesecake as most restaurants don't make milkshakes that well and charge so much for them, but when it arrived and I tasted it, I was blown away by how amazing it was!!! It was so thick and creamy, had biscuit pieces in and really tasted like strawberry cheesecake so I think they do genuinely put cheesecake in it. Was very pleased with that. Then the mains came out and the ribs were absolutely excellent, really soft and had a lovely flavour. Excellent portion size too, a full rack of ribs with fries, 3 onion rings, corn cob and coleslaw for £22 which was excellent value! Great service from the staff and loved the inside and outside décor of American themed cars and other pieces. A really great ending to our mini holiday!

Came here on my own this time as was working in the area and I always come here with family when we on holiday at the local haven site every year. Once again the food did not disappoint. The service with a smile, the food was delicious, I don't usually like food on the bone but I liked the sound of the bbq ribs starter so I gave it a try. It was amazing. The meat just fell apart off the bone and it tasted amazing. Watch out KFC there's a new finger licking good place and it's the smokehouse! Then I opted for the smokehouse sliders. 3 mini burgers - chicken, beef & bbq pulled pork with French fries. The portion on this was huge. I finished the burgers and the fries were piled up. All piping hot. Couldn't finish the plate of fries as there were so many. Everything tasted great! All washed down with a homemade biscoff milkshake Recommended to book in advance as it is that popular. I did my booking online and no issues. Car park is a little on the small side and due to its popularity. It gets full quickly. Had to park around the corner (free) Will return again.

What a great place. We're in the area for a holiday and came across the Smokehouse so decided to get dinner there and I'm glad we did. The staff were super friendly, the food was fantastic and the restaurant was so cool. Would definitely recommend.

Second visit, food was fantastic and service friendly. Also really appreciate that most of the tables with loud kids were in a different room which kept the atmosphere in the main restaurant pleasant.

Had a lovely evening at this restaurant even though I ate to much 30 oz t bone was amazing and a challenge to finish it, but I did and the wife dinner was just as good lovely environment and lovely staff especially our waiter who name was alfie from essex just like us lol

After waiting a while to be able to get over to Ormesby to visit this restaurant, I wasn't disappointed. The BBQ selection is both quality and quantity. Really enjoyed it and if you like BBQ so will you, I'm sure.

Very busy and yet still managed to get us a table. The staff were polite and friendly and very helpful. Parking can be an issue, we parked a little down the road but no more than 3 minutes away. My partner is Coeliac, they catered for her very well. There was a mishap with the order it arrived with onion rings. The waitress went into the kitchen to ensure a fresh plate was made. Food was great and plenty of it. Definitely recommend and will return

Quite disappointing really. One of the servers was stomping round on her phone taking personal calls. The food was dry. My cocktail took 20 minutes to arrive and was tiny, and not frozen at all (I’d ordered a frozen daiquiri!). We’d been wanting to come for a while but won’t be hurrying back.

Absolutely amazing smokehouse. Would hugely recommend. The food is amazing. Even found something for my fussy eater, and both my children cleared their plates! Excellent food as always. Had the 20oz rump steak and it was a very good quality bit of meat. Decent service and good atmosphere. Good value for money considering the size of the steak. Car park isn't great though and difficult to get a spot if busy.

Biker point of view: Great location in the summer, lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the sun with a drink, slushies if u aren't feeling a beer and a food van with quick and tasty burgers if your not staying for long and using the onsite restaurant and can enjoy live music on specified days. The bar staff tend to you quickly even at busy times. Most importantly they massively accommodate for lots of bikers. The majority of the outdoor space turns into a spot where motorbikes can be parked up allowing everyone to go around and have a look. Highly recommend if you ride a motorbike or have an interest in seeing them.

I've eaten in many places but this is up there as 1 of the best...a lovely location,staff were so friendly&happy..the food was so well priced for the large portions that were received...I had a Philly cheese&steak burger&chips but the burger was massive..too big to pick up...but tasted so good&nice tasting ales on offer aswell...good that there located close to where I live so will defo be returning soon!!

This place is fantastic. From the second we walked in we were greeted by such welcoming staff to take us to our seats. The atmosphere is great. Really busy place which is always a good sign. The food is incredible. The waitress was so knowledgeable about all the food and even explained the whole process of how they smoke all the meats. In the summer they have bands and BBQ outside. BEST VENUE EVER

The Smoke house is what you would expect, american diner with great food on the Menu and a great atmosphere. The staff are excellent and very friendly, The food is superb and there is plenty of it, the milkshakes are excellent and I would go there just for them. Plenty of parking and the Monday-Thursday buy one get one free on burgers and hotdogs is great. Highly recommend a visit.

We come here regularly and are never disappointed with the food... we are slowly working our way through the menu! The portion sizes are just right and the fries and coleslaw delicious. Our server last night, Brittany, was very friendly and attentive despite it being a busy half term evening. We can't wait to come back again soon.

Quite a disappointing experience. Everything started off great, we arrived and were seated and dealt with by wonderful staff. Allergy information was clearly explained, and the food we ordered arrived quickly. Once the food arrived, it went downhill. On some older photographs, the burgers have are lovely looking brioche buns, but they have been changed out for what appear to be cheap, stodgy buns which were pretty flat. The burger itself was dry and virtually tasteless also. My partner had the beef brisket which was dry. Neither of us finished our meals. At the end of the meal, the server quickly took our still half full plates without asking how the meal was, when she returned to ask if we wanted dessert, this is when I made our complaints known. After this, she apologised and went to get me the bill, put it on the table. No price adjustments were made considering we didn't enjoy the meal, or even finish it and I had made the server aware of this. I went up to the counter to see what could be done and was met with a combative manager who didn't listen to what I had to say, they then stomped off and got me another manager who was far more understanding. I explained the issues to them, to which they listened and we came to an agreement in the end. I was genuinely disappointed, I wanted to really enjoy my meal here, I've seen the great reviews and always wanted to try it, drove 45 minutes to the establishment and was unfortunately dissatisfied.

Super early evening meal , with loads of different 2 4 1 burgers. Very polite and helpful staff.

We came for the food and were blown away by the decor. Everywhere you look there's something else to see. Service and food were absolutely spot on. We will definitely be back.

Service is great food not burgers very very dry it came out very quickly I think it was pre cooked as very dry and the meat in my burger looked liked it been thrown in no cheese put in the burgers and there change there rolls to bread rolls not burger rolls we came in January food was so much better. It looks like there trying to safe money. But the food is expensive for what u get .

I cannot fault this place in any way it is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. It is nice to see the staff so relaxed and happy and very attentive. I love the coleslaw!

not wheelchair friendly such a shame

Have eaten many times here and would rate it 5 stars every time. This time however was so different. Burgers dry and overcooked, brisket over cooked and hard , burger buns are now just a bread roll will oil rubbed on the top. Service was also very slow . When I pointed this out to our waiter his response was "we have changed meat supplier, yes bread rolls are now used and there is a trainee chef. I really like the restaurant and will return but not until changes are made . Yes I know it was buy one get one , but I still need to enjoy it . I see there are a few reviews now saying similar things. Let's hope this is taken on board and changes are made. I do hope to see you again soon .

Booking was very difficult for told I needed to a pay deposit in 7 days then got called every day asking for one then when going to pay told me they had given my time away so had to go later. Table wasn’t ready for when we arrived and was still dirty when we sat down. Food wait was over 40 minutes when turned up burgers were burnt! Usually a very good place to eat but for a birthday meal this evening was very let down

Always good food and the staff are always friendly and happy to help me and my wife visit very regularly just been again on Sunday for my birthday I usually have the triple bypass burger or ribs I went for the ribs on my birthday it’s a 45 minute drive but well worth it and we enjoy the bike nights in the summer on Thursdays

The only thing I have left to remember from my last visit was 12 hours of being violently sick 🤒 I was served a shandy but the lager was floating on top of the lemonade, querying this I was told to mix it , food was ok but not the best , burger was really dry , serving staff weren’t the brightest of sparks but despite that we had a good catch up As we were left alone for so long ,
