Amazing fish and chips, great service too! A right little gem.

Really disappointed yet again and it's not the first time we've been disappointed. Few selections not available today. You're right beside the sea FFS. And I seriously doubt the chef knows how to cook chicken as it's always bloody well overdone. Best part?? The olives. Not somewhere I'll be returning again. And before you retaliate, I'm quite a professional cook so don't bother.

Excellently cooked and perfectly presented food - and plenty of it! Great choices of food, nestled in between all the fish & chip restaurants. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff! Will definitely visit on our next trip to Great Yarmouth.

I had a really nice gluten free fish & chip dinner here today. In fact, one of the first questions asked was if anybody had food allergies. A nice sized piece of haddock, really tasty batter and a good portion of chips for £15. The curry sauce had a really good twang to it. A good 80's soundtrack playing gently in the background and dog friendly too. If there had been a rainbow, this was the pot of gold at the end!

When it comes to eating out, I would not usually opt for Fish and chips, however this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was of a good quality and the portion sizes were generous.

Excellent Gluten Free Fish and Chips. Stuff were very accommodating to request, made a customer salad so it would not have onions.

Excellent service and quality. Friendly staff and to top it all off they offer gluten free option for fish and chips that nobody else offers. I would recommend to anyone with Coeliacs. Don't bother asking at other outlets because you will waste your time.

Visited twice lovely food clean and very good service

Day trip on holiday. Had to have fish & chips on the beach. With added curry sauce of course. These were the nicest chips and meaty, fluffy fish we could have eaten. Too many chips for me had to throw 50%. Should have just had a cone. Recommend.

Food was good. And alot of it. Value for money

We used the takeaway, not the restaurant. They were quick to take our order, however, exceptionally slow to fulfill it, which was made even more frustrating by the fact that the food was barely warm, let alone hot. Not worth the money.

Fresh cod, really tasty. Chicken is halal. Food is cooked separately for dietary requirements. Don't bother doing anywhere else with requests. Mocktail could have been better but 2 for £8 is decent. The ladies there are nice and helpful.

Fish is cooked to order, super fresh and tasty! We loved that they served halal chicken and the fish was cooked separately to the other fried foods without alcohol in the batter! Also the chips were spot on! Cannot fault it!

Ate in for an early dinner, large battered fish was nice enough but the chips were dry and half the amount of portions being given out to others - more like a small ! Given the disappointment & high price I'll go to Brittania fish bar next time

Had the gluten free fish and chips which were amazing, they tasted exactly like normal and I was thrilled to find a gluten free option so close to the sea! Staff were kind and let us sit outside too, thankyou!

Love this place. Been back year after year for about seven years now, whenever we visit Great Yarmouth. Fantastic food, perfect location and lovely staff.

What a shame ! The food was great, and large portions were all very tasty, but the server with black hair, no uniform, and white newbalance trainers on was disgustingly rude. I have never faced service like it slatting stuff on our table rushing us. Dirty looks very very bad service I would understand if we had offender her or even spoke to her but we hadn't. Another massive let down for this place is they allowed dogs inside which is just disgusting and unhygienic as one dog jump up at our table and scare our kids. This is a massive no no for me also the "cook" on the pass screaming orders when the other cook is right behind him is totally unnecessary. I would love to return here for food, but the dogs and the disgusting server have put me of ever returning

We had a lovely family lunch here today, service was fantastic very friendly staff, prompt service and the food was amazing, large portions and very good value, we will definitely return on our next visit and highly recommend to all, family friendly lovely open space, thank you to you all

Nice little place this. Staff were really friendly, the dog was welcome. Food was excellent, Decent menu, the fish platter is good. Definitely worth popping in. Prices were good. They serve alcohol too.

Got takeaway fish and chips from here. Great quality food and staff were quick to take the order, had a little wait as this place is very busy. They also had some Halal options on their menu too. I would recommend.

Had haddock and chips was great crispy fish, the sauce was great lage easy to open sauce packets, not those tricky ones that have nuthing in. Over all great chippy wold go back

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time!

Had lunch yesterday 4 people great food and proper 🍟 and e en great toilets

Asked for a Cheese burger no salad and was served a raw cheese burger, I sent it back to then get served a over cooked Burger with no cheese, I went to the hatch and was just shouted at by the chef, called me names to rude to post on here and swearing at me in front of my Daughter. The 3rd burger came full of salad and was foul. £14 for a burger that went in the bin. All the chef was interested in was to be abusive and rude.

Didn't have high expectations but how wrong was I. Food is cooked beautifully and really tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. Menu is varied and they have a kids menu.

I orderd gluten free fish and chips along with my childrens order which wasn't gluten free. Having celiac disease I have to be careful as cross contamination can make me ill been here many times never been an issues after paying 38 pound for fish chips ons to be gluten free and chips on own 3 cans of drink I saw two sets open on counter already asked for them wrapped I asked which one was gluten free with some hesitation she pointed to one the girls on counter need training as that wasn't gluten free my reaction was so bad my blood pressure went so low I was took to a&e put on drip as I was that ill I became very dehydrated I suggest in future if you want gluten free air with caution as these places offer gluten free but don't seem to understand why people are chips also was very greasy staff moaning I will never go back gone down hill big time

Excellent food, real home made chips.

I don't say this lightly, but the fish and chips with the mushy peas were the best I've ever had. Fast service even when it was busy. Staff was friendly and well trained. Was a great experience! Top rated got a 5 star from me

Lovely fish & chips, lovely service & lovely atmosphere. Fish was extremely fresh & delivered with alacrity; daughter ordered onion rings which were crisp and fresh.

Very poor sized portions for the price in my opinion. I spent £30 on an adult fish and chips, kids fish and chips and a Peri peri burger and chips. Picture was an adult medium cod and medium chips. Apologies to the kind ladies at the till/counter for putting you in a difficult position when I complained to the manager. Food tasted nice but poor value for money in my opinion.

Fresh fish was delicious and portions very large. A bit pricey with a large place at £20 but the best have ever eaten.

This is place is a gem! They serve halal chicken and use vegetable oil for the fish. Plenty of seating inside, great service and food was very tasty. £20 for large fish and chips, £15 for medium.

Don't order the surf and turf the gravy is too thick chicken is dry and just as chewable as gum. rice is microwaved and precooked. Butter garlic sauce is good 👍🏼. Only two prawns that are cut in half to look like four. coleslaw is terrible and it fills you up before you even get close to the actual meal. don't think of even coming here 20 pounds is a scam

We went today with complicated mix of needing gluten free and having our dog with us. Both were not a problem at all for the restaurant. Their service was lovely, the food was amazing, gluten free onion rings were a highlight! Very much a big step up from your average chippy. Thanks for a lovely evening and meal!

Best cod and chips I've tasted, fresh cut chips, not frozen, fresh fish, not frozen, cooked to perfection, beautiful crispy batter, regards to the chef, would highly recommend.

I recently visited the establishment and ordered fish and chips, sausage and chips, and fish bites with curry sauce. Despite the absence of other customers, I experienced a lengthy wait before being served. Upon receiving my order and returning to my vehicle, I discovered that the fish was excessively oily, causing the oil to spill onto the interior of my car. The batter was dripping and had an unpleasant taste. The chips were saturated with oil, and the curry sauce lacked flavor and consistency. The overall experience was deeply disappointing, and we discarded the majority of the food. Regrettably, I experienced severe nausea that evening, which I attribute to the meal consumed at the establishment. Consequently, I will not be patronizing this establishment again.

As far as I know, this is the only fish n chip shop to offer a GLUTEN FREE option on the menu in the area, cooked to order, and OMG, it was the crispiest piece off battered fish I have ever had, lovely chips and the curry sauce, also GF Free was fantastic. The staff were very helpful, polite, and efficient. It was our first time using this takeaway, but it won't be our last. They are now at the top of my list of places I must visit at Great Yarmouth on my next visit!!!!.

Young Waiting staff were running around like blue arse flies bless them. Mixed up orders, wrong orders, things dropped on the floor. Que backed along the road with only one cook, who was a trainee. Although the Waiting time for fish and chips was a short while and all 3 dishes cane out at once. My Cod came out under cooked and watery. I had to wait an extra 10/15mins before I got reserved a better Cod. Thank goodness my 32 week pregnant wife didn't have raw fish. I understood they were extremely busy yesterday. Regardless, they huffed and puffed and sulked mumbling under his breath: 'they don't deserve a refund', when we asked the waitress. £60.70 for 3 fish and chips, 1 large under cooked fish and 2 medium with 2 lemonades and 1 Pepsi bloody nora lol. Never again!! No apology or reduced price for the inconvenience.

Fish and Grill was recommended to us by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. We were not disappointed, the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Well worth visiting.

Came here on holiday, my wife is coeliac and has to avoid gluten and wheat. This was the only chip shop in GT Yarmouth who offered a gluten free menu. Was it good, it was amazing and probably the best gluten free batter we've ever tasted.

Fantastic Food all cooked fresh, by far the best fish and chips I have had in Great Yarmouth, bit on the pricey side , but worth it, I absolutely highly recommend the fish and grill. I had the gluten-free option. They cater for all diets.

After reading reviews was expecting some nice food but that's not what we got. Partner had chicken surf and turf and was swimming in oil and I had cod which was abit slimy. Chips were nice. Very expensive tbough

We ate in the restaurant Friday evening the staff were very welcoming we ordered the cocktail's which were both lovely and both ordered the fillet steak and all that was included, fillet was cooked as ordered one medium/rare and one medium the chips were substantial the onion rings were huge only one grumble would be the flat mushroom didn't need garlic inside it, personally I love the mushroom just to eat with my fillet. On Saturday we tried there take away and had loaded chips with cheese and bacon, which were also superb, as we visit Great Yarmouth about 6 times a year we will definitely be back and congatulate the staff for a very friendly, happy atmosphere

Absolutely divine! Probably the nicest and most welcoming place to eat in Great Yarmouth! The service is impeccable and the food was just incredible! I was a bit hesitant at first regarding the prices, but you really do get what you pay for! I went for a chicken kebab with halloumi dirty fries and a pina colda. And wow it was the best meal I had eaten that weekend! Couldn’t fault it! Thank you to the wonderful ladies who were absolutely brilliant aswell. If you are visiting Great Yarmouth I recommend this place 100%!!!!

If I could leave 10 stars I would... the best fish and chips I've ever had. The cod was grilled to perfection. The cocktails were perfect. Staff are ace.

Considering it’s primarily a takeaway this place serves great food in its restaurant next door. Good service and varied menu. The proprietor, Chris, oversees everything and is passionate about the restaurants quality and ensures everyone’s meal is hot. I had the salmon in garlic and white wine….. £19 but worth every penny! I last visited two years ago and the standard hasn’t dropped. Perhaps offering new potatoes would be a popular edition. Either way I thoroughly recommend this seafront restaurant.

Great atmosphere, polite friendly staff. Feels clean and tidy. Food was fresh and delicious! Quite pricey but i suppose that is to be expected on the beach.

Wonderful fish and chips. Batter to die for, succulent chips, good service and lovely people all at a reasonable rate. What more could you ask for.

Beautiful tasting fish which was cooked to perfection

We visited Fish and Grill as we were looking for a halal friendly place to eat. The fish was lovely and fresh, along with the crispy homemade onion rings. We were pleasantly surprised to hear that the chicken was also halal! What made our visit special was Poppy's (our waitress) brilliant customer service! She answered all my questions with a smile and was very patient with us. Would definitely recommend and visit again if we come down to Great Yarmouth.

Can't place a order over the phone have to do it via just eat is the only down side as the prices are higher and when you order at shop you have to wait about 15/20 min but tastes good

I ate an excellent fish and chips accompanied by a good pint of Peroni. I chose the medium portion which was truly huge. Friendly staff and very fast service, there are several places to eat fish and chips but this one immediately intrigued me due to its cleanliness and good music and the informal environment full of families.

Local to myself, this is an absolute diamond place to get get fed. Always cheerful, helpful, patient when ordering. Cooked fresh. Tastes great.

There was a group of 10 of us. We stopped off for food and the customer service was great from the young lad. Ordered burger for my child and it was pink in the middle and cold also my friend Ordered the same and theirs was just as bad. They binned them, no point going back as we had Ordered food on the go and we had walked away. Chips and the fish was OK

Fantastic customer service we visited fish and grill on our seaside day trip with our service users who has autism. Younger lady gave us a table in quite place to sit away from our customers and offer to turn the music down for our service user. Fantastic service from the younger lady she made our service user feel really welcome and safe. We wanted say a big thank you for making him feel welcomed. Fantastic food too.

Me and al took a drive over to Gt Yarmouth al had been to fish&grill before . This was my first I had cod chips and curry sauce Al had the haddock and chips and Baked beans we both ordered large portions of fish I would have expected the fish to be hanging of the plate but when It arrived it was a normal size what I expect to get every time i have cod and chips and at nearly £19.00 I thought it was expensive yes the fish tasted good but if i paying For large I expect it to be large Chips were good The curry sauce was tasty staff were very efficient

Takeaway order. Scampi and chips, very overpriced for average food, chips portion very small. Garlic bread with cheese, £5 for 3 small slices which tasted strange. If you're looking for a traditional beachfront fish and chip shop, this isn't it.

First and last time we shall use this Fish & Chip shop, having just moved here.. Firstly, their prices are far in excess to those in London and Essex, a large Cod there onlt costs £10. Secondly, it is clear that the oil in which the fish was cooked was far too hot. The fish had curled up, an obvious sign and the batter was burt and much too crispy. The chips were also like eating paper they were so dry. Sorry but have to comment as we find.

Usually my favourite place in Yarmouth for fish and chips but the last few orders I got were disgusting chips weren’t cooked so it was a waste of my money. Was like eating raw potato’s! Sometimes the food tastes fresh sometimes it doesn’t. The food portions aren’t massive they’re ok-ish for the price depending on the dish. My most recent order I had was loaded chorizo chips and small sausage has put me off a bit ordering/buying from here at the moment due to the chips that just weren’t cooked :(

We came here as it was the first fish and chip restaurant we found. Was the perfect choice! Lovely atmosphere inside, the staff were fast to seat us. Fish and chips were hot and fresh, chips were definitely a highlight! :)

I really wished we lived closer because we want to go back! We had lunch there today. Quite simply the best chippy meal we've had in god knows how long. And dog friendly too! Brilliant. I had the mushroom and halloumi stack, and some curry sauce for my chips. Delicious. The only issue I had with the whole meal is that mine was served on a wooden tray thing, with the chips in a wee basket. I hate that nonsense. Just give me a plate for Christ's sake! My wife had the battered halloumi and chips. They were incredible. The lightest, crispiest battery I've ever tasted. She also ordered the onion rings. These were beautiful. Thinly cut, light, tasty batter, and big old onion rings. And plenty of them. Do not leave this place without trying them

A bit of a joke, chips were alright. Waited fifteen minutes for warmish savaloy and chips without being informed of a delay and to top it off they sold me a bottle of vinegar that was two months out of date... instead of apologising, refunding or replacing I was told , 'Its a best before end of date' quote from staff member 'I could use it for ten years and there would be no problem'. How rude!

Stopped just to ask if they were still serving ( we're not local so were unsure of closing times) they said yes but only takeaway which was fine by us aftera long drive. Ordered 3 fish, chips and a portion of onion rings. The grease was pouring out of the boxes, thank goodness it was in a plastic bag, therefore the fish was soggy and everything was flavourless. Wish they'd just said they weren't serving. Really disappointed 😞
