Had a fabulous night at wing it Wednesday. Our waitress Maisie Wes excellent and kept us toped up of wings all night. Nothing was to much trouble for her came wait to go back again

My family and I had a wonderful meal and the staff with fantastic. Highly recommended if you are in the area. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Burger was ok. Pre frozen chips. Ketchup or sauces is extra £2. Daughters meatballs and pasta was clearly microwaved or re heated. My 3 year old couldn’t drink her drink, i sipped it, it tasted like warm tap water with zero flavour in it. Only giving a few stars as service was good. Wouldn’t recommend it though, tbh.

We had a really lovely meal, couldn’t fault anything. The service was quick and the staff were friendly and efficient. I wish we lived closer to visit more often. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Had a brilliant meal out at the Zaks Yankee Traveller in Yarmouth, Chargrilled Chicken breast, Potato wedges 🌽 corn cob, my friend had hot dog and fries 🍟 and we shared some onion rings, plus pint of Budweiser each. The food was absolutely delicious, will definitely go again. And all reasonably priced. It is great American Experience. and really friendly staff creating the perfect atmosphere.

Good service, good food with great portion sizes. A lot of food establishments have fooled customers by increasing prices a lot and also shrinking portion sizes but it seems as though Zak's are still doing good portions, which is great 👍. Was just like old times going out for food rather than some places where you have to get more food on the way home

Absolutely disappointing visit and would never return until they treat customers with respect and provide actual customer service! This experience is beyond what I’ve ever received in a restaurant before for mistakes of the staff. There is 6 people in our party. We arrived at 8:10pm and were told when walking in that last orders for food was 9:00pm. And again told this when being seated at the table. Once seated, a waitress then took our drink order quickly and then said that we need to order food as last orders were 8:30pm. This wasn’t what we were expecting and didn’t really have chance to browse the menu. We then felt rushed so started to place our food orders. Not once did anyone ask us if we have been before or needed any help, just more hurry up as we don’t want you here it felt more like. With this, we started to order our food quickly. Unsure of what comes with our meals, we asked numerous times what comes with our hotdogs or burgers to be told “Sweet Potato Fries, Wedges or Normal Fries”. 4 out of 6 of us chose Sweet Potato Fries as these were an option give and told come with the meal. I was last to order and as feeling rushed, I couldn’t decide on the burger so asked if they did chicken which I was told yes and then I asked about what comes with it to be told clearly “Sweet Potato Fries, Wedges or Normal Fries”. I said is there anything else like Tator Tots which they said wasn’t an option so I went for Sweet Potato Fries. Clearly confirming this was an option that comes with the meal. After this, we got our food and not once did anyone ask us how our food was until we had finished and asked “Are we finished and how was the food?” I didn’t eat my Sweet Potato Fries. We then asked for the bill and when receiving the bill, I was shocked to find that 4 meals had a surplus charge of £2.50 each because of Sweet Potato Fries. I asked why we had been charged an extra £10 when they told us they came with the meals and the waitress just couldn’t answer so walked off to get someone else. They never returned and were greeted by a manager Annie. This is when I am completely shocked. They did not come listen to our issue and continuously interrupted us to say that we had eaten the fries and had to pay. We weren’t disputing paying, we were disputing the extra charges. We told Annie that we had been told numerous times that the Sweet Potato Fries came with the food. She said well the menu clearly says there is a charge of £2.50 for them. I asked them to show us and I said we have never been before and were rushed so asked for advice from your staff to tell us what comes with our meals. She just said well you’ve ate the fries and you have to pay. I said that’s not the issue, why should we have to pay for something that we were told was included with the meal when clearly it wasn’t. She just went on the menu says it and you’ve ate it so you have to pay. I said you would rather argue with us than admit any mistakes and told we can speak with HR. Never heard this before in a restaurant. The manager Annie also said that no other customers have complained about the issue with Sweet Potato Fries so must be us. Yet reading the reviews, I can see this has happened before so complete nonsense from the restaurant. We gave the manager the benefit of the doubt that our complaint would be passed to HR who will contact us to resolve the issue. But 3 days later, I received an email saying that they believe their menu is fair pricing but no mention of the rude customer service from the manager nor the issue we had with being charged extra. For me, it’s the principal that we were charged extra for a mistake the restaurant made and to refer back to a menu when we was rushed and asked numerous times what comes with our meal to then say we ate the fries so we have to pay is beyond a joke. Absolutely poor customer service. I think staff need retraining on extra charges for items, to be welcoming to guests and to ensure that when taking orders they ensure guests are aware what options are available. I would like my refund!

Great place to have a family meal or celebration. The food is great and plentiful, portion sizes are enormous. Heartily recommend and will be going back soon.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, attentive staff, overall great aesthetic. Very speedy service considering it was a sharer starter and two mains on a Saturday night. Huge portions and Tennessee sauce was incredible. Be wary of doubling up the burger, as that is a hefty portions (we now have meat sweats and to go boxes with our scraps) Extensive drinks menu with a drink for everyone. And shake selection, even though it wasn’t touched, looked amazing.

Steak was superb; loved the venue too!

Was so excited for date night but have been left disappointed. The burgers were ok, we asked for MJ cheese on one of the chips and they came with grated cheddar and another with beef dripping gravy, it tasted just like Bisto and was full of chunks!! Most of the staff were friendly. The decor is lovely and exactly what we expected but the place definitely needs a good clean. Don’t think will be visiting again.

Came here for a works night out and had a really good time.Had a burger which was OK and you got plenty of chips, but the main selling point was the relishes which have always been good here. Tried the chilli which I thought was delicious and nicely spiced, and the chicken wings although a bit greasy were very enjoyable. My only gripe would be the portion size of the cheesecake which didn't warrant me to knock a star off my review as again very delicious. I have been here a few times in the past and never had a bad experience and would recommend highly 👌

We visited at the end of July on a Saturday night. We were served mainly by Sienna and she was such a joy, helpful, friendly and accommodating. We were a couple trying to tag onto a group already there. We ended up swapping our table 3 times and she was joking about it. The best service I’ve had and a great atmosphere and gorgeous food. It took me a while to review, but I said to her o would.

Pretty good American food, lots of meat options! Do wish they told you mayo comes on the burgers by default but the staff is fantastic

We had a great time, the server was brilliant she was so nice and friendly made my first experience enjoyable. The food was incredible, chicken very juicy the loved the chips portion and really nice coldslaw. My friend was gluten free and has a whole menu for her and her food tasted incredible she said too. The price wasn't bad, and the restaurant had such a cool theme. Can't wait to return.

Really nice restaurant with a great selection. Service was really good and friendly. Couple of us are vegetarians and the selection was huge, not something you usually get. Nacho starter was mint as well.

To be fair I’m happy coming here to just have the corn dogs starter 😂 as they are so nice my main course was also great choosing a C+B burger with a fried egg and chilli and cheese loaded wedges absolutely great combo the chilli has definitely changed recently and is so nice ! Service impeccable as always berried treasure desert was lovely struggled to walk across the road to my car mission accomplished

The waitress was great. They didn't have the steak I wanted unfortunately but the waitress straight away made a recommendation as an alternative to have the baby back ribs. They were so nice and tender. The portion sizes are so big... It's nice to see places that still offer that kind of value for money.

Changed our original booking for a birthday celebration to this restaurant and what a master move. Nice friendly welcome and table set out ready. Very quick service despite the restaurant being fairly busy. Most had a variation of starters which arrived quickly and we're delicious. Once again the main courses were variation from steaks, ribs and burgers. The amount of food you get is the difference between this great restaurant like this and your standard restaurant. Portions are fabulous you certainly won't go home hungry. The food is delicious you won't go away disappointed. Well worth hunting this gem of a restaurant out. 👌

Been coming to Great Yarmouth for years, and this is the first time visiting this establishment and got to say wow. Everything was perfect, from the service to the food don't know why we haven't been here before. Will definitely be back here again 5⭐️

We have been coming to Zaks for over 30 years with our family, during our holidays to Norfolk, and it is one of our absolute favourite restaurants! So many special memories. We always have a great experience there - fantastic food and service. Never lets us down. The staff are sweet and friendly, and we recommend it to everyone. Thanks Yankee Traveller!

A large group of 20 attended as a work meal out. This place was recommended by a number of our staff as a firm local favourite but this was my first experience. Food/ drinks/ service and atmosphere all exceptional. We did not have to preorder and the kitchen did a great job of getting 20 different meals out in a very short space of time. Personal favourites were the fried pickles, lime/tequila wings with blue cheese sauce and the short rib in maple glaze was exceptional. I will definitely be back and have already encouraged others to visit too. Top notch.

Last minute decision to stop for food.. Unfortunately the calamari wasn't great, the veggie chilli was so spicy I couldn't eat it.. And mostly consisted of tomatoes. The chicken salad was a miss.. Shame what we had wasn't good but Maybe other things on the menu are better..

I would never recommend this place!!!!! I had a cheeseburger on adults menu and the bun was dry and there was and over load of chips!! I asked for 2 ketchup pots but they gave us 1 so we had to asked again but they gave us 2 in the end!! IT DOESN'T END THERE!! We asked a worker if the sweet potato fries were extra but he said they were NOT u get to pick between normal or sweet potato fries, wen we got the bill it said it was extra we he said they weren't HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO FOR DINNER!!!

I would have given a 5 star for the service but it depends on who serves you. Some of the staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs and others it seems as if they need further training or just not cut out for the job. With regards, the food - since being taken over by zack the quality of the food has dipped. I have been going to yanks traveller for over 30 years and always considered them to be the best for burgers and would never hesitate scoring them a five but now I feel generous scoring them a three!!!

Had an amazing hot chicken wings with fries and they were very good! Tasty, juicy and good spicy! Fries were also amazing, my friends had burgers, steak and ribs and were all big sizes and also really good! Also the service was fantastic the lady was really kind, engaging and made us feel welcome! shame that I live really far as I would come back all the time!

I booked my daughters birthday here We were a party of 6 and we were all really disappointed with the food mine and my partners burgers came out and they were cold in the middle and so thin they sent them back and we had to wait for them to re cook it every one had nearly finished their food even the chips were luke warm at best we were offered two free drink but only received one of them can’t believe the price of the burger meal and the burger was just like a economy thin burger which was quite tasteless my daughters steak was meant to be medium/well but there was still blood in the middle what a massive disappointment after spending £130 we were even charged for two extra desserts that we should have gotten in the juniors meal

Found this place while looking for vegan food on google maps. They have a whole seperate vegan menu with plenty of options, and the food is delicious with very generous portions. Our waitress Jenna was lovely, chatty, welcoming and attentive. Would definitely eat here again!

Now this place had great beer , amazing food best blue cheese burger I have ever had, everything was spot on. Now this is a kinda complaint about atmosphere/tables they have them old metal table where on some you can find a foot rest thing and they squeak like hell and therr was this mum and child doing that for 20 mins it was awful, But all that sed defo go best food great prices good beer best service too so yeah go for it

Been using this restaurant on and off the past 25 years always happy with the food. we went this Thursday party of seven everyone was happy with their food apart from myself, I had a double burger and asked for no cheese, but it arrived with cheese on so I asked the waitress to return it and a few minutes returned the burger after inspecting it somebody had scraped the cheese off and turned the burger upside down to hide it so sent it back and said that I wasn't happy, its a good job I didn't have a allergy as this could have turned out with an illness. When I eventually received a new meal everyone else had nearly finished their meals.

We used to always stop at a Zaks in Thetford and was gutted when it was closed. So to hear about this restaurant we were uber excited to try it out. Firstly, it has the most epic vegan menu, starters, mains, and desert!!! And it was all yum! Everybody enjoyed their meals, none of us finished it all as the portions are generous. The decor is cool, the staff are friendly and helpful and it's good value for money.

Can't get a simple order right!!! Asked for no onions yet my meal came overloaded with them, when told all they did was scrape them off,so I am still left with onion flavouring on my meal :( so looked good too

Great meal and service as always everyone’s food was spot on my Big un was perfect I love the fact you can add loads of toppings onto your fries or jacket spud 🥔 so the options are endless. The corn dog starter is awesome and a great addition to the menu. My friends wife had the new Frenchy burger and it looked unreal ! Looking forward to my next visit

Me and my family came here for my sister's birthday and I was rather disappointed to say the least. I ordered a simple burger and chips but was dissatisfied with everything. My chips were cold and had clearly been waiting on a counter for a long time. My burger meat was extremely dry, had no flavour and also cold. My burger bun was very very dry and almost felt slightly stale as the bread was hard and chewy. My dad and I shared some onion rings which were also freezing cold. I appreciate it was a busy evening but there's no need for food to be delivered like this. It was not just my food that was cold, dry and stale but the rest of the table's were too. The good service has upped my rating, lots of respect for the lovely girls working that evening. Also we were seated in the corner which was fine, however they had decided to sit a large party right next to our table and they were so very loud I couldn't even hear myself think, and none of us could hear each other talk so this ruined the night just that bit more. Definitely will not be returning, this place used to be good but has gone dramatically downhill over the last few years.

Unlimited chicken wings what a joke, had a couple off my boyfriend plate and actually got told off for doing so by a staff member making me feel very uncomfortable, got told he couldn’t have anymore if she’s eating them !!!!

Great quality food, lovely attentive staff, pretty quiet and easy to get a seat on a Saturday (in April). Zaks is always a go-to option for reliability at any of their locations in Norfolk, especially when you're surrounded by seaside tourist traps.

Found Zaks by chance and so glad we did food was amazing never had deep fried pickles before and boy will have those again.its a hidden gem in Yarmouth well worth looking for

It has not got the atmosphere it used to have probably because Yarmouth is a dump. You take your life in your hands walking along King Street. Staff were not helpful and good just average.

I really wanted to love this place, it was a birthday treat meal from my partner but unfortunately apart from a lovely lady that served us and fun Americana style decor everything else was a disaster. First l would like to say that we came in, chefs were sitting at one of the tables in the main dining room scrolling trough their phones, yawning and ignoring us completely, after some minutes a lovely lady popped her head and showed us to a table. We ordered the food and observed the lady asking if the two afromentioned chefs could go and cook it for us, they both looked extremely unamused and l didn't like the attitude of neither. Food came out very quickly and apart from the quality of meat and frozen fries which was decent everything else was disgusting, bun was cold and stale, cheese on the cheeseburger was cold and solid, coleslaw was just fatty and had no flavour, onion rings reeked of old oil and were inedible. Both of the chefs came back and continued to yawn into their phones in the main dining room which completly killed any residual atmosphere this place could have had. It was a very bad experience that gave me indigestion and made me feel uncomfortable. I understand that working in restaurant buisness can be tough but honestly, l don't want to pay £60 to look at bored staff frustrated to be at work serving substandard food without any love nor attention to detail. This is not a place where cooks take any pride in what they are doing, they just want you to eat and go asap, as l mentioned above the food made me unwell, this was my first and simultaneously last ever visit to this place. Extremely Dissapointed.

Very poor, nothing like our Norwich branches. All 3 of us were disappointed with the cremated burgers, the baked potato and wedges were still hard in the middle. We were in a rush and starving so ate it and appreciated having had something. It wasn't good though. I would have raised with staff if asked , but that never happened as they were too busy dealing with the next table who told them "If I grilled that after 12 beers I'd be ashamed of myself" That said, it's a nice atmosphere, friendly staff but definitely more expertise needed in food prep.

Fantastic food great atmosphere

Quick visit after watching a movie and managed to get a table. Food as always spot on Surf and Turf burger cooked medium was lovely wife had a Caesar salad for the first time and throughly enjoyed it. Service is always good here nice meal overall

This was mine and my other halves second visit here, and yet again, it was fantastic. Our waitress Abbie, was wonderful! Happy, smiley and nothing was too much trouble for her. Food was wonderful and I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

My favourite restraunt, amazing prices and service and you cant beat the 2for1 offer on the burgers especially with the price of cost of living going up I am able to afford to treat me and my children for a reasonable price the portions are amazing and the they go above and beyond to help you, the atmosphere is absolutely amazing for anyone even if you go alone ornin a group or as a family it's the perfect place for a decent meal.

Food was of poor quality no taste just all fried rubbish!! Such a shame given it two visits but second was awful! Bring back the old menu and it might be worth a visit! If you like greasy fried food this could be the place for you!

Hi Chris/Ian, visited on the eve of 9th Jan as a party of 6 and whilst the staff were fantastic and looked after us as always, I must say the food was not as good as usual. I had Surf and Turf and whilst a notable reduction in portion size, unfortunately the quality has suffered also. Burger very dry and a hint of garlic?? Bun very very dry and to be honest along with the prawns, pretty much tasteless. No onion or gherkin in the salad. Very poor for £15. (I remember £8.95 juicy, tasteful and large portion) In addition please look at the condiments set up as everything now has to be requested and when delivered to the table the portion sizes are not enough for one person let alone six. Must be more economical to have bottles on the tables so people can help themselves as the amount of times the waitress spent keep bringing us more must be false economy. Always loved Zak’s and been a patron for 40+ years. Dont want this post to be taken as too much of a negative but more for you guys to look at areas of improvement as I know you are trying hard in a difficult climate and we normally love what you do……👍

I came in on a Sunday afternoon. They were only 1 table in at the time but I understand coming here out of season. The food was delicious. I ordered Chicago Frank's hotdog and fries topped with blue cheese TO DIE FOR! Very filling but worth the money. Definitely coming back again!!

Unbelievably for an American-themed restaurant the burgers were awful, the hot dogs were awful and the starters were greasy. No attention to flavour or presentation. There was however, an incredible amount of unseasoned cheap fries. I must admit I feel sorry for the waiting staff who were excellent. We have just spent £130 for a meal that none of us could eat but felt we had to be polite. Please don’t believe the menu, it looks great but over promises and the food certainly under delivers. I’d strongly recommend missing this and walking to Burger King if you want your burger to taste of anything. I hate to do a review like this but they apparently have multiple sites and should be better.

Chicken fillet was raw inside with blood.Then replaced with a beef burger that was raw inside with blood.Returned it and showed chief who said it’s a medium rare burger.Frozen burger being served medium rare that’s raw no thanks didn’t eat and spoilt my night.

Went to Zaks at the Yankee Traveller yesterday. Very pleasant waiter but I was very disappointed with my food. Veggie burger was dry and bun bog standard. My weggies were undercooked and not at all crispy. Other members of the party said their burgers were OK but fries bit undercooked. Not a great experience so won't return.

Nice place, good food, large portions, cheerful staff

First visited this restaurant in the mid 70s, when it was brilliant. Since then it's had it's ups and downs, but now it's back to its best. The food was excellent ( okay one meal came with fries not wedges but we didn't mind), burgers can be tweaked without being made to feel a nuisance, atmosphere was good and the music at the right level and era. Staff were busy but helpful. Had a really good lunch (main course only) and was in and out in an hour.

We came here on Sunday for lunch, and it was amazing! The 2 waitresses couldn't of been anymore helpful, the food selection, especially the vegetarian menu, was so vast! The food was delicious as well. If I'm ever back in great yarmouth, I'll definitely be going here again!

BRILLIANT!! I had my 25th birthday meal here at the yankee. 16 of us enjoyed the very decent portion sizes from burgers, to tuna steak to club sandwiches all cooked to perfection! The desserts were lovely too. And can’t forget the the waiting staff they were absolutely fantastic, so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Never had a bad meal here, menu has been refined to cater for most options.

Enjoyed a lot. Massive portions and a choice of 3 different vegetarian burger patties with the various options on top.

We came here back in July this year, and it was really nice, good quality food and a good amount. Unfortunately, when we came back here this week (October) the menu had drastically changed and the quality and quantity of the food had dropped significantly. The staff were friendly and understanding, but told us that it had been changed to be more like the Norwich branch, which was clearly a big mistake, and the person who decided to do that wants sacking. The new menu also featured lots of sections with red text on a yellow background which was difficult for my elderly parents to read.

After trying here for the first time, I would recommend to all! The atmosphere was great, service was good and the food was amazing! The portion sizes are huge so this is great value for money and the food is cooked to perfection! We will definitely be returning when we are here next.

The best food I've had in ages. Similar to smith and western food but so much nicer. Restaurants set out wonderfully a really good atmosphere. Only downside is the street it's in, but once inside it's a totally different atmosphere. It's on some back roads so away from the parade but we saw this as a positive. We tried going again on our break but unfortunately ran out of time

What a wonderful place.! Found it on Google, figured we'd give it a try, and I'm very glad we did.! Very accommodating, we tried our luck by turning up without booking, managed to get us a table very quickly, staff were polite, knowledgeable, and very friendly, I had the texas combo with a fatboy, and damn.! It was amazing.! The wedges were huge and perfect, the fatboy just melted in the mouth, and the chicken was fantastic.! Also, hands down the best garlic bread I've had in a very long time.! Now, I know I've given it 4 stars, but there were a couple of small issues, that prevent me from giving a full 5. I had a coffee milkshake, and whilst it was extremely good, I believe it to be overpriced for the amount you get, and the chairs for the table needed to be more comfortable. Otherwise, a definite 4.8 out of 5, and would happily return and spend more time feeling fat and very happy.!

Late last minute child free meal led us to Zak’s Yankee traveller Great Yarmouth. Having not been here in quite some time we thought we would give it a go. I’m the worst fussiest eater and never like change but looking at their new menu there was a few things that I really wanted to try. We decided to have the big un burger and the The cheese un hot dog and have half each. You are asked how you’d like your burger cooked and it was cooked to perfection for me. The hot dog was the most tastiest hotdog I think I have ever tasted in fact I can’t wait to go back and have the same all over again! The service was super fast and very welcoming and was an all round perfect meal for us. 5* all round and will be back very soon with our family. Also saw that with adult meals purchased (which are very reasonably priced and huge portions) you can get a child’s meal free in august. Thank you Yankee traveller see you again soon!

Just reading reviews to see if we were going to come for a meal. Not been for a long time. But must say I was impressed by what I read and the response from the manager on the negative reviews. Clearly cares about the business and reputation not just the money. Will visit soon.
