Charcoal Grill Steak House in Great Yarmouth

We had lunch at the Charcoal Grill and Steakhouse in Yarmouth yesterday (opposite Joyland). The service was excellent. It was spotlessly clean inside. There is a huge menu to choose from. My grandaughter is 7 and she received a lot of lovely attention, meeting her needs. Our food was excellent - I thought my grandaughter might eat the plate! My brother really enjoyed pork chops and I had steak diane - both meals were hot and very tasty. Did not have to wait too long for the food. Would go there again and thoroughly recomend it to anyone visiting Yarmouth. Very pleasant staff. A really lovely lunch.

Asked if we booked and told us to move seats as theyl b busy, no one sat in our original place where we sat and no more than 6 people were in the restaurant all the time we were there. Ordered desert only we were asked did we want a meal we said no just desert is that ok, she said not really but ok. Management seem picky maybe our faces didnt fit in light of this when visiting we wont be back.

Absolutely amazing meal great for the price, had a excellent cooked steak was delicious mouthwatering I will definitely be going back again to have this for definite and my partner had the pork roast which they adapted for her and that was served amazingly too. The dessert was splendid too we had the chocolate fudge cake was go nice and gooey. The owers and waitress was so nice and welcoming very attentive at all times checking making sure everything was good. Thanks so much for having us cannot wait to come back again.

we turned up just as they was closing but they invited us in and made us feel very welcoming we have been here many times before with family the food is fresh and very tasty i had fried haddock and chips my partner had spam fritters and chips both were fantastic highly recommend will be back very soon!!

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. the food was served hot and taisted fantastic. minestrone soup. followed by a large rump steak came as I ordered. we will be back for sure and would recommend it.

Food service and price fabulous. Wife had a prawn cocktail stater. 2 mains and 2 deserts 🏜 just over £50 but food and staff were fabulous.

Had a lovely meal tonight. great food and lovely friendly staff.we came here 4 years ago and had a great meal and as we were up this way again we returned and once again we were not dissapointed.The next time we are here again will deffinately be back.

As always, good old fashioned home cooked style food, never had a bad meal in here. stay are always accommodating and helpful, we frequent this restaurant regularly and always look forward to going back. all our friends we have taken there always want to go back. keep up the good work, and we will see you soon.

Visited this restaurant with my husband whilst staying in Great Yarmouth for a few days and had a lovely dining experience. The staff were very attentive, nothing was too much much trouble and the food was cooked and served fresh to our table. I ordered the roast chicken, Yorkshire Pudding and vegetables and hubby ordered omelette, chips and peas, along with a carafe of wine. Both meals were superb and tasted delicious. This restaurant is located along the sea front, so is very centrally located. Overall, we had a wonderful time, loved the food and will visit again when next In Great Yarmouth.

Apon arriving we were greeted at the door by a very friendly and cheerful waitress. Seated quickly, drinks were ordered within minutes of being in the door. Service was fantastic and the fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Onion rings were also cooked amazingly. Very crispy and fresh, cut lovely and I would certainly give complaments to the chief. Apon paying and leaving we were greeted by the chief who was a lovely man, very formal and was pleased to hear positivity reguarding the meal. Overall I belive the experience given with the meal is defiantly worth the money you spend. Tip left

This restaurant is amazing found it by chance this weekend what a find. Food is superb and the staff are excellent so welcoming . Chefs are brilliant all food is cooked to your taste . I would advise anyone to go but book beforehand.

This restaurant is the finest along the sea front in g yarmouth, it is most welcoming, reasonable ,the chefs are fantastic delivering delicious meals, whatever you have,don't take my word go there, you won't regret it.

Ordered some porkchops, and it had no taste, tasted like it was microwaved and not cooked fresh, my husband had fish and chips, and the fish had no taste as well. My daughter had chicken nuggets and was very greasy. Don't recommend this restaurant. And the prices are not worth it for the food we got very expensive for how it came out.

Dreadful service, booked for 8am party of 6. table not even set when we arrived. orderd a beer waited 20 mins. Waited 1 hour for starter, another hour for mains. pieces of hair in food. complained to management, all he could do was blame the supplier. We waited nearly an hour for starters. When the food did come it was very nice but the service is poor. The girls we’re working had but appeared very unorganised. Probably wouldn’t go again

Where to begin. Took 50 minutes for 2 starters (Squid & Halloumi Fries) Lasagne was not great quality, rather dry. Then there was the incredibly loud arguments in the kitchen between wait staff and kitchen staff that was making all in earshot uncomfortable. Very unprofessional.

The fired calamari was very chewy and not had no batter on them. The roast dinner we have the meat was very thin. Vegetables was very small portion and not worth the money. The knickerbocker glory was a fruit salad. Very disappointed with it as we will not be eating there again. 😕

The waitress was very rude and treated my wife and myself like children talking down to us I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Food was good but the staff were the ones that made the difference the daughter of the owner was so accommodating to us it made us feel so comfortable. The waitress we had was very polite and attentive. Could not fault the service.

The only thing I was disappointed in as being along term customer, that no onion rings come with the steak now, but price had not dropped. Bit disappointed .

Went here for my birthday and was amazing! Had Scallops, Plaice and Lobster. The service and food was outstanding! Highly recommend!

Traditional style place, huge menu and amazingly very tasty food. Kept everyone happy in our big family group who all have different tastes.

We've visited this restaurant many times over the years, it's one of the reasons we return to the area often. Great service, good food, value for money and that relaxed, at home feel. We'll see you in a couple of weeks.

I found the service slow and the food over priced. I had high expectations for mains with such high price tags and those expectations weren’t met.

Im a regular visitor in great yarmouth, unfortunately a lot of places i liked to eat in have changed owners and gone massively downhill. A friend said give the charcoal grill a try, im glad i gave it a try they use very nice ingredients. Not your average get the cheapest stuff possible like many seaside establishments, was greeted as soon as we got too the door. And all staff we dealt with were very professional and friendly, food was very nice and the key part it was all fresh to order. Not fast food but good food this is something becomming harder to find now days. Also very reasonably priced. Keep up the good work and we will definately be comming back.

Got a table for two straight away but should have booked, we waited ages for service and eventually came up to us took our order for drinks and dinner we again waited ages even for the drinks a family of four came in and they got their drinks before us fuming by now and it was so hot in here dinner and drinks came at the same time and to be fair food was perfect we probably arrived at the busiest time but had our food and left full

A mixed bag of 10 persons eating, there was some dissatisfied and some were good worth a visit though!

Shame came a long way meal great before but arrived at 01:35 and told they were not opening till 17:00 really disappointed had to eat elsewhere.

If i could give this restaurant 0 stars i would. Do not eat here, the food is overpriced and mediocre. The treatment of the staff is appalling and the owner is beyond unprofessional. The atmosphere is unpleasant due to this as arguments often occur directly in front of customers. There are many pleasant restaurants to visit along Great Yarmouth seafront and the charcoal grill is not one of them.

Be aware of curry .You’ll get a rice straight from the bag and ready made curry sauce absolutely vile !

Great food and Andrew is an excellent host with a good team. My steak was cooked to perfection and there were plenty of accompaniments. Like many local people we come here reasonably often and are never disappointed.

Really lovely restaurant with big portions. The food was fresh and the curry was homemade It's very friendly and a great atmosphere. Loads of food options. There's curry, fresh fish and pasta on the menu so don't think it's a kebab shop by the name. Location was on the seafront main road.

Went there twice in May holiday, warm welcome by host and staff. Meals excellent had roast dinner twice , Martin had roast and fish and chips. Value for money x

The restaurant was clean ..service quick .waitress lovely..unfortunately I had lamb which I was really looking forward to but it was quite chewy and I couldn't eat it ..The rest of the meal was lovely and the owner took the meal off the bill straight away..for this reason and for their reaction I would definately return on another occasion.

Frontside restaurant with outdated decor, needs a bit of light inside. Think price are a bit over rated for food quality. When asked for natural juice i was served with bottled juice.

When we entered the restaurant we were ignored for about 5 minutes, despite staff wondering around. When someone did acknowledge us we were asked to wait about 5/10 minutes as we hadn't booked and they weren't sure if a booking they had were going to...

First restaurant that we tried on our Easter holiday break. Restaurant is on main street next to beachfront, so easy to find. Food menu is nice mix of gril and sea food. Unfortunately price of seafood is not best communicated on front and after ordering it took personal 10 min to come and ask if we are happy with additional £12 on top of seafood player that we ordered. Overall good experience.

We booked this restaurant as we had been there in August in August it was excellent we went there 3 times in the week there so it was a no brainer we entered the premise greeted by the manager this booking was made 2 days...

Service: Poor. Some reviews mentioned its famuly run restaurant and the service is good hence we decided to give it a go despite cheap look from outside. But was per service all around. We were offered rsble and ordered food, then owner comes and asks that we don't have reservation as if he would kick us out. A black man was rudely told to go 2 blocks away. Waiter tried to sell very expensive whole lobster (already cooked and being touched by waiter with bare hands) to table next to us and when they declined, other parts of their order suddenly became unavailable. Waited for our food for long, brought wrong order and insisted it was for table 2 when he himself had taken our order, waited for cutlery while food sat on table (eventually they got the order right) and getting cold, even had to ask for bill thrice. Food: Very mediocre. Takeaway kebab shop will do a better Chicken kebab. Seemed was cooked from frozen. Not worth the price. Atmosphere: messy service, rude owner, dated decore, all gave a bad vibe. We ate quickly and left immediately.

We are from Canada and were at the seaside haven for 4 days and we had passed by this restaurant and booked a table. The outside is very colorful and inviting, and we love steak so it was a spot we wanted to try out....

The food was a bit pricey for food that tasted mediocre. But the Gaelic Coffee was soooo good. I never knew I would havr a new favorite coffee. I would come back just for the coffee. Other than that I would probably go elsewhere for food.
