I use this cafe for both working and relaxing, several times a week - it’s an absolute treat - friendly, welcoming, inclusive and with great food & drinks. Two thirds of the space is for drinks/ dining / chilling and the other third given over to kids and their parents for play/ food fights, so seeing a couple of bad reviews for cleanliness made me think these ‘reviewers’ are just ridiculous - the cafe is spotless, unless you join the multitude of toddlers launching drinks and food at each other. Why don’t people support excellent small businesses instead of being so pointlessly negative? Or even speak to the staff like an adult, instead of being snide behind a keyboard.

Had a fantastic lunch and cake with friends at un cafe today super friendly staff Hollie is fantastic, lunch was gorgeous and banoffee and biscoff brownie was fantastic thanks so much 🙏 for a wonderful afternoon

It was O.K. the portion size is good, the food was nice, but the middle of my (and two other guests) lasagna was very tough, as if it had been in the microwave too long. Service was slow too.

We have been visiting Taste of Aveley ‘rays’ for years. A family run business which has stood the test of time in a struggling industry. Tonight’s food was exceptional, the lamb rogan Josh meat just melted and was so tasty, the chicken madras was the right side of warm with a lovely thick sauce. Our 2 year old ate all of his chicken purée and rice: the waiters are attentive and staff go above and beyond to make your meal enjoyable. Thanks Ray & Co.

Shocked and disgusted by this restaurant... The portion size was shocking for the amount paid and the staff did not care... Food is below average and customer service falls far below that also.

A lovely little café with a nice atmosphere and good vibes. They have some good vegan options, so I'll be back! Lovely place to sit and journal/read for a bit.

Only had a drink but made very welcome

Visited this cafe for a quiet coffee while my other half had her hair at the salon across the road. This is a typical 'greasy spoon cafe', and I mean that in a good way. It is a clean, simply presented establishment, providing traditional no thrills food, served by helpful friendly staff. The real indicator to the quality of the food, is the continuous stream of patrons coming in for breakfast, construction workers, locals who from conversations going on are regular visitors. On this first visit I only had coffee, 2 excellent espressos, breakfast nexttime. If you are in the area it is worth a visit.
