Changes have been made here in what was a brilliant place to visit..shame.... I feel for those who enjoyed their coffee and meet up we are now stranded outside with takeaway cups and limited pastries etc....I still attend and loyal and will continue to as long as top barister Shaka is there to make coffee....wish u well Su Ling with your new concept and dreams but was so so good before x

Such a shame this venue has changed. Not sure why it cant be a 'community hub' and the lovely cafe it was. As a regular changes don't seem to make business sense or value customers. Seriously sitting squashed on a hard bench with no shelter from elements and a paper cup! On the look for a new place unfortunately. Will miss the lovely staff and sense of community from talking to other regulars. In fact there was naturally a sense of community.

How sad that this perfect little gem of a French cafe is now no longer open for its regular customers but has become an arts venue and “community hub”. Surely the “community” is best served by being open and welcoming to everyone (including their dogs!) and serving delicious food and drinks. Surely there must be a way that the cafe could be open during the day while accommodating clubs in the evening?? A take away coffee in a paper cup and a scone in a cardboard box is absolutely no substitute for what went before.

My first visit to The Greenroom since the format has changed slightly, I'm very happy to report that it's still just as wonderful with the same special atmosphere. So lucky to have this in our neighborhood! Looking forward to trying some of the workshops, got my eye on the Basket weaving.

Great little cafe we would visit regularly. Sadly the owner is now making changes and it will be a takeaway only with the main room being used for art/craft workshops. It was a little gem in Ipswich and a loss for the many of us who frequented it. However good luck to the owner in your new venture but takeaway is just not the same!

I used to like going to this cafe regularly brilliant flat white friendly staff. I won't be going anymore after the recent changes. Takeaway only. The only seating that was there on a hard bench was in the takeaway part which was full and a very small area. The owner looked miserable with her coat on. Sharka very friendly always good to see her. Customers had coats on. Where is the enjoyment in that. It's a great use of space having the seating area closed. I can't see you getting much business when it's cold and wet if your still takeaway. The outside needs a coat of paint.

Absolutely beautiful place! The best French onion soup we have ever had, including those in France. Stepping into this place feels like a French cafe on the streets of Paris. We discovered it by being stuck in traffic on this road and saw it looked lovely. After reading the reviews we thought we’d pop in and we were far from disappointed. Stunning selection of cakes and very reasonably priced for the quality. An absolute gem in Suffolk.

Delightful café with a lovely atmosphere. The coffee is far superior to any of the national brands and there is an array of pastries and cakes of exceptional quality. There is also a small selection of wines and beers alongside soft drinks in the fridge. Comfortable bohemian style café just a few metres from Christchurch Park and the town centre. A real little gem.

Delightful and fully deserving of its 5 star rating! Had a delicious Camembert and apple baguette made with a lovely rustic whole meal baguette accompanied by cornichons and a crisp grated carrot salad washed down by an interesting ginger beer with chilli. Couldn’t resist a slice of apple cake, also delicious. Quick service, very pleasant decor and ambience, all with a subtle French twist.

I visited this cafe today for the first time with my daughter. The coffee was the best I have had. It’s tricky making a good, smooth coffee with oat milk but they achieved it to a superb standard. I had the lime & pistachio cake & it was incredible. I highly recommend! Really lovely staff too.

What a fabulous place to rest in Ipswich!! We went for a lovely bracing walk in the beautiful Christ Church park, and so then to find ourselves in such a warm and friendly French cafe (which was pleasantly crowded but there was room enough for us) was just icing on the cake. The staff were cheerful and friendly. The decor is amazing and the coffee is definitely top quality and rivals the best we have in London. This is the go-to place in Ipswich and I would recommend it to anyone.

I visited the green room after a walk with my wife, cousin, her husband and our collective three toddlers. The place was bustling but the large table was available and given the chilly temperatures we were more than happy to deposit ourselves in the warm side room. The adults had coffees of various sorts and the children had delicious hot chocolates. I also ordered a croissant with butter and jam that arrived warm and flaky, just the way it should be. The service was friendly and given the reasonably large order was brought out to us when everything was ready. The space the green room occupy's has been beautifully renovated and given so much character. It is such a wonderful change from the usual drab, monochromatic chain coffee shops. I hope to get a chance to try the Friday wine night at some point in the future as well. Definitely give this spot a visit if you are in Ipswich or the surrounding area.

Friends and I spent a fabulous evening here. Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are lovely and so knowledgeable about the food which is predominantly locally sourced. But the star of the show for me is the wine….all imported from France not widely available in the UK and delicious!! Friday nights at the Green Room are my go to weekend treat now!

Our first time here. Excellent food and good wine list. Only had Sunday lunch but couldn’t fault the beef short ribs and sea bass dishes. Service could have been better had to prompt the waitress for my wine order, she was pleasant but a bit absent perhaps a late night the night before. Friendly team overall but a bit off putting having the fires lit and maintained whilst we were sat close by. Perhaps get the restaurant ready before guests arrive. Overall the food made up for minor shortcomings so would definitely recommend and will revisit.

I’ve been meaning to visit here for a while now, as always hear good things & it’s always busy when I walk past. I wasn’t disappointed! Mu friend and I visited on a Sunday morning in November, around 11.30. Luckily we got the last available table! Which was outside, with a lovely view. It was a warm morning, but there were blankets just incase. I went for Smoked salmon Pan De Cristal & added a poached egg. Really generous portion size and a generous amount of tasty salmon, fresh rocket etc. I really liked the dill oil on my bread, absolutely lovely! 😋 To drink I had a tea ☕️ (Pictured) My friend had Chicken Pan De Cristal and a smoothie. I’ve added a photo. Really nice atmosphere, you’re not rushed at all. Friendly staff, especially the owner, who has a great sense of humour. He made me laugh when he told my Spanish friend how to order 😊 An absolute Gem! I can see why it’s always packed! See you again soon 😊

There were 4 real ales on, and this pub tonight was packed there. There were people even in the outdoor drinking areas The pub was a magnet for real ale drinkers tonight.
