Fabulous bar for beer enthusiasts. A great range of styles on draught, and an emphasis on Belgians on bottle - with seasonal specials too, not just standard lines. Carried 2 cask lines - nothing special but eminently drinkable, and much better than you'll find nearby. Best bar for beer in Ipswich, by a margin!

Came in for a drink twice today so cant judge the food. Like the impressive craft beer range and also happy to see decent 0% options from Big Drop. Despite being busy got served nicely- Thank you A.T. Team

Never done a review before. I’ve been a regular to the bar, but had a really disappointing experience with them recently. I booked a table for me and my mum to celebrate her 50th. This was booked 3 weeks in advance and requested indoors. Soon as we got there the bar staff said there was no booking. When the manager came over (who I knew from his voice as the person I dealt with on the phone to make the booking) he said there was no booking. I wasn’t particularly confident on the phone, but I confirmed multiple times that a booking had been made. I have never written a review before because I’m very much of the opinion that ‘sh*t happens’ and sometimes things mess up - which is absolutely fine. However, I’m writing this because of the really cold, unapologetic persona of the manager infront of my mum on her 50th birthday - simply wanting to have some drinks at her favourite bar in Ipswich. No effort was made to solve the problem, no offer of a free drink to make up for the mistake, and we both agreed his entire persona indicating that we should leave and find somewhere else. The bar was busy so it’s our opinion that that he simply didn’t need our custom. It’s a shame, because it’s been our place to meet regularly for years now. We’re not angry, but have agreed that we don’t really want to go back again. I guess it’s more about how you treat customers when you have an abundance of them; anyone can be nice to a customer they really need. Happy to speak again to the management if they are wanting to reach out.

I contacted the "Two Ross's" to organise our work Christmas do and they couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We had a fantastic evening of buffet food, drinks and comedy (supplied by The Big Cheese, but organised by Arcade Tavern) and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all of my colleagues. Super friendly team, efficient in taking drinks orders for large groups and very well organised. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming and fun. Will certainly return!

Lovely little place with several rooms you can sit in with a 2nd bar that i guess is used on busy nights. Has a covered outside area as well on the street. Also has free WiFi and I had a good connection so no complaints there. Music was a nice level so i could make calls easy. Pity they don't do food other than bar snacks and sausage rolls but not every where can I know.

Been popping in here recently on a Saturday for a couple of drinks, good choice of wine and beer and a lovely sausage roll to snack on too. Staff very nice and polite - would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I wanted somewhere to have a quick drink and snack before the theatre. They didn't do food but suggested it was fine to bring my own. They reserved a table for us too.

Hidden Gem for the Ale Lover! Great and varied selecrion of local and narional ales. Friendly staff. Bar areas are staggered and there is a covered external area so an atmospheric area for everyone.

I can't praise this pub enough. It's beautifully kept and has an amazing selection of ales, lagers, stouts, runs, whiskeys, etc. There were 15 beers on when we attended. Made the trip from Colchester just to go to this one pub. Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. An absolute must-visit. Well done.

Great pub with a well designed range of rooms, amazing ale and spirits selection. They really seem to work hard on offering an engaging experience with lots of different nights. However, if you want a quiet drink served by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, this pub can still accommodate you. Did I mention the amazing ale and spirits selection! Good rotation too.

A lovely place, expensive.......but lovely. The beer choice is top drawer and so is the Gin selection. Street food under the archway on a Friend night I believe and the bars tastefully furnished. A nice place to sit and spend an evening or a Saturday.....just don't look at your bank balance in the morning 🙈

Not the cheapest admittedly, but if you love exceptionally good Belgian beers like the ones you’ll find here you wouldn’t expect cheap. It gets very busy at peak times but the atmosphere is always cheerful.

Nice place to have a drink, either in a group or solo. It can get quite busy inside, luckily this is the weather for outdoor seating, there were tables under the arch.

Fantastic venue. Nestled away just off the main shopping area this pub has an excellent selection of beers. There are many keg offerings, a couple of cask beers and fridges full of wonderful Belgian bottles (each with their own matching glass, so done properly). Ample outside seating and plenty of room inside too. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. There is a food offer but as we didn’t order any we can’t really comment. Would highly recommend a visit, we didn’t want to leave and would have happily stayed for the entire day.

A busy environment, so they're clearly getting something right. Venue broadly clean, although toilets were in quite a state. However, plenty of staff, they were efficient and there's a wide range of drinks. It's the first time in a long while though I've seen a venue listed on Untappd selling beer at £12 a pint which isn't available in thirds. However, they probably don't need to given how busy they are, and the craft beer selection was well curated for what doesn't appear to be a beer led pub. Venue opening hours are also unclear, but the ones on Untappd appear wrong.

Every time I decide on here for a drink it's far too cramped. That on top of a terrible attitude from the people who work there/own it it's gives you a feeling they look down their nose at you. I/we don't ever feel this way anywhere else so I find it really an odd one. I think I'll make a bigger effort to remember this next time and give it a miss from now on.

The bartender, even though it was her first day was great, fun and chatty. A great selection of draft beers. I don't visit many pubs in Ipswich but will definitely be back.

Very good drink selection and service. Staff are interactive and friendly which makes life much more positive! Good seating selection too and according to the blackboards in the establishment, they have events on throughout the month. Well worth a visit.

Great place with 16 beers (2 cask, 14 keg) and a crowler machine for takeaways. A large selection of gin, rum and whisky with tasting nights.

First visit several weeks ago and ordered a New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Visited again on Thursday and Ross behind the bar, remembered what wine I like! Felt like a regular! Amazing! All staff are very friendly and it's a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We visited 3rd September. The pop-up catering 'Stacked Out' was fantastic and a great selection of beers and other drinks to accompany from the Tavern. Stacked Out are back 17 September from 5pm.

Great Bar, great Staff & always a great atmosphere. The biggest selection of Gins & Beers you could wish for and the staff are super knowledgeable so can talk you through some selections. Make sure you give them a visit when heading to Ipswich. Always a 10 out of 10 every visit x
