Visited with a few friends and was very disappointed in my meal. I had a pie which was still frozen in the middle! My friend had a sandwich she was also not particularly impressed. Sent my food back, the lady who served us didn't seem to care like this was not unusual Such a shame as visited here for fish and chips and roast dinners on several occasions and it has been faultless, but it appears to have changed hands since. We left shortly after and chose to eat at the stores instead which was delicious! Definitely will not be rushing back that's for sure!!

We stopped on our way to the coast to have a quick drink but then decided to have Sunday lunch. I chose lamb and my husband went for the mixed meat (lamb, beef, gammon and turkey) it came with carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, roast potatoes, stuffing, sausage and the biggest Yorkshire pudding I have ever had. The serving of meat was huge and everything was well cooked and of good quality. The price was incredibly reasonable all that plus 2 large glasses of wine and a lemonade for £35.70. If we had had our grandchildren with us they could have been fed from our plates. Great value.

The staff, food and service at The Beehive could not have been better for my son's wedding reception in Aug 2020. Everyone had a separate table, food was served by very helpful and friendly staff, and they made the evening very special. The food was excellent, well cooked and presented with a good choice for everyone. Weddings have been hard this year but The Beehive made it a very special event, every bit as memorable as if there had been 200 guests, not the 30 who were allowed. They decorated the rooms, and made everyone feel Covid safe and welcomed. I would highly recommend this pub for the quality of the food and service to anyone.

Booked here for a late Sunday lunch after a long dog a walk. We were so impressed! They only sell roasts for Sunday lunch but you wouldn’t want anything else. Great selection of fresh vegetables and large portions. Kids loved their roast too. Good sized beer garden and dog friendly it was perfect!

Amazing place with an amazing atmosphere, very family friendly and great for everyone. The food is really good me and my family had the fish and chips (fish is super big and tasty) the battered sausage is crispy and full of flavour. My favourite would have too be the chips very fluffy and perfect portion size. The service was very lovely extremely friendly and very covid safe. No complaints here would recommend too anyone who wants some good food and good vibes.

The new owners launched their much anticipated new menu yesterday. We chose 3 dishes each from the extensive bar snacks selection and shared like tapas - chorizo in red wine and red onion chutney, deep fried Brie, ham and cheese croquettes, baby back ribs, cod goujons and the arancini balls. Every single dish was beautifully presented, generous portions and absolutely delicious...couldn’t fault it! And exceptional value for money too! Looking forward to sampling more from the main menu next time.

This visit to the Beehive was my third visit for a Sunday roast. On two previous occasions as a couple and this time in a family group of six. With an open fire to welcome you in the restaurant bar. The service was very friendly and quick. As on previous visits the choice of four meats were available and and the quality of the food was excellent with generous portions. They also offer a fair choice of deserts. I cannot understand why more people don’t use this pub as it offers great value for money and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s well worth a try. Come on you locals.

The new landlords Jay and Dan are the best thing that have happened to this pub for years and years. The place is busy with regulars and new customers, the garden is finally usable and a great suntrap, and families and dogs are all welcome. The food is amazing and great value - the cheesy chips and gravy are already on the way to becoming famous! I'm looking forward all the events they have planned and will definitely be back regularly!

We recently went to the Beehive which we saw while driving to have a nice hot cup of coffee. We had a lovely table next to a real fire and we had a steaming cup of coffee and decided to have something light to eat, we chose soup of the day which was cauliflower and apple, a large bowl with crusty bread came up and it was really tasty. We both enjoyed it and were so full we didn't order a dinner but had a dessert instead, sticky toffee pud and peach cobbler. Both lovely. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go there again. Its your proper good old fashioned wholesome pub.

My friend and I had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Beehive. The choice was beef or lamb for roast - or a bit of both which is what we chose. Great home made soup, yorkies and a fantastic bread and butter pudding ... The veggies were delicious (carrots/broccoli/baked beetroot and squash). Tasty, tasty, tasty! I rarely recommend, but felt I should share. Don't expect swift service, but if you like great food, a nice ambience in a rural setting you can't go wrong here. Nice wine too. Greene King IPA/Abbot. On Essex Way for walkers, interesting church.

Visited The Beehive for their Sunday Roast. The Menu offered 3 choices of 1, 2 ,or 3 courses. Meat on offer was either Roast Beef or Pork. Service was friendly enough but the food lacked flavour with hardly any seasoning at all. The meat was very thinly sliced but served with 2 Yorkshires with a selection of veggies served separately. Nice enough but not inspiring..

Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it. Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing). The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that. But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂) Definitely will come again! Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁

Popped in for Tea and cake on a lovely day, usually visit about 8 times a year on nice days and weekdays only, Parking is Free, but only about 7 spaces connected to the Tea Room, don't be confused by the field parking next door which is £5 and is not affiliated with the Tea room, register your vehicle number when ordering food, toilets available for Customers, so a Tea and cake and 1 Hour stroll along the river, always good service here,we have seen some demanding members of the public getting mixed up and thinking its all one thing then getting it all wrong and throwing toys out of their prams when they are clearly wrong but can't see it, So you can park free for limited time, pay for food and drinks and use the garden seating (or inside) and use their toilet facilitys, can't say fairer than that and if you want a cheap lunch go to Tesco for a meal deal at £3.50
