Fast and freshly cooked, great chips!

We’ve been going here for 7 years, it’s been our go to place for an amazing curry. However I don’t know what’s happened over the past 6 months, whether they’ve had a change in chef or something, but all the curry’s we’ve had have been awful. Butter Chicken used to be my favourite and now it closer resembles a tomato soup. So sad as it was our easy choice for a take away when we fancied one but will not anymore. I’ve messaged them about it and their replies have also been non existent. Not good enough when their prices have shot though the roof too.

what can l say dont think the Staff understood why we walked out when tables that came in after us got there breakfasts way before us long wait watching them too much talking going on in the kitchen not enough work will not be back

We had been meaning to visit this village pub after a friend had recommended it. The 'Eat Out' discounted scheme gave us the main reason to give it a go. The starter of tomato and basil soup was steaming hot and delicious,served with crusty bread. I was offered mackerel salad and was not disappointed; delicious served with a bowl of new potatoes. Hubby was served a rather large beef burger and cheese with a side of chips. He has a hearty appetite and it was more than enough for him. The service was warm and friendly, without being intrusive. Had we had paid the full non- discounted bill, we would have been very happy at the price. Listening to the staff taking bookings this is a popular pub You can sit outside or indoors for meals I could see the walled garden, which looked very inviting. I think this is well worth another visit .

Lovely place to refuel after walking up to Kinder Scout. Very friendly staff. We had a very tasty Bakewell cake , brownie washed down with good coffee and tea. Well worth a visit.

Wow! Ordered delivery to calverton and it was so so so good! Best fried chicken I’ve had so juicy and the peri peri chicken was insane ! And the cherry soda, seriously best chicken shop in Nottingham

We haven't tried the food but i just wanted to say the service was terrible, we asked for the price and they weren't even bothered, on the photos there have put the price. Please improve the service and add the price on the menu, Thank you

The food is very good and it's a lovely place to eat nice and clean and the landlady is a very nice

The service was awesome, the food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the place was clean, atmospheric and had nice decor. We had the burger and the lamb shank and they were absolutely delicious! 😋 The owner of the bar was very attentive and friendly and we really appreciated chatting with him. Really nicely decorated, just like a traditional sports bar in the US 🇺🇸 Highly recommend a visit if only for the food! 😊

The food is ok….the service is embarrassing…overly familiar ,patronising and intrusive and what’s more they charge for it !

During our mini break at Church Farm Escapes, we visited the Chequers three times, the first time just for drinks, the second time for lunch, the third time for an evening meal. We were treated really warmly, as were our dogs. The pub is a traditional old pub serving proper pub grub, really good and varied menu and all food was enjoyed by us all. Very reasonably priced also. It is dog friendly, half of the pub allows dogs, the other half doesn’t so it caters for all. Great outside space also and some undercover space. Highly recommend and will definitely return in the future. Huge thanks to all the staff we encountered, we were looked after so well.

Brilliant village pub with friendly staff and regulars seem friendly. Lexi and didn't catch the blokes name behind the bar both friendly and would definitely visit again soon whether in the area or just a random day out. Thanks from Chris from Birmingham
