DO NOT GO!
Me and my friends went for dinner here on a Saturday evening after seeing it had won the curry award for 2024. We have been to a few other bar/grill Indian restaurants and thought this would become our new favourite but boy was I wrong.
When we first arrived we were put in a separate area to the other diners and our table was a plastic picnic table covered with a very thin green tablecloth. The waiter was a lovely man, very happy and tended to our needs. I cannot fault the service.
The food however was a different story, we had ordered a variety of dishes including a royal sizzler, chilli paneer, chicken lollipops and a Lamb machuzi curry.
The Royal sizzler was big and you did get a lot of food however the sizzler itself wasn’t like the photos online. It was very saucy but all you could taste were raw and bitter spices. The chicken was overcooked and there was hardly any lamb on the chops but overall it just tasted bad.
The chilli paneer was dreadful, the paneer itself was very small chunks that tasted boiled and it was served in a very dark tamarind colour sauce and it just wasn’t nice.
The chicken lollipops were the best thing we ate that night but even they were very underwhelming. There wasn’t any flavour at all, wasn’t spicy or sweet or salty; They were very bland.
The lamb Machuzi curry was a massive let down, the colour was so dark and it was just full of big pieces of star anise l. Really wasn’t a good flavour. The only saving grace was the texture of the lamb, it was soft and very nice but put it in a dark bland sauce; not good.
In conclusion me and my friends really didn’t enjoy any single piece of food that left the kitchen. Considering they won this award for the best curry I was shocked. The food was very expensive compared to similar restaurants around the area. To pay that amount of money for the bad quality of food was really upsetting. To anyone reading this review, I would recommend either Three kilns or The Broadway. Either of them are in a different realm to the food that I was served here and very cheap in comparison to Royals Leicester. Will not be returning in this eternity.

Brilliant village pub with friendly staff and regulars seem friendly. Lexi and didn't catch the blokes name behind the bar both friendly and would definitely visit again soon whether in the area or just a random day out. Thanks from Chris from Birmingham

My room was comfortable and clean. It had plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Had a smart tv and a decent shower. The ladies in the bar were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast the next morning was tasty and good value at £7.95 for a small, including a hot drink.
A couple of minor negatives are. The hireable venue opposite may keep people awake for a while. It depends on how much of a light sleeper you are. Also, the room was really bright early in the morning.

The food and service is outstanding, and the staff very trust worthy. I mistaken left my wallet with a significant amount of cash, credit and debit and my tacho/licence cards, the staff had found it stored it safely and saved me from not being able to work with out my tacho card, you are all a credit to your company Thank you so much. We had a great Sunday lunch at Barringtons a couple of days ago. The roast beef and also the nutless roast were great. The service was good and the staff friendly. The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. The cocktails were good, as was the cheesecake. Thank
You! We would definitely return and might look at staying when we are next in the area.

Great little place, the lady on the bar is a true barman very friendly and professional. Good atmosphere, lots of space to move round the tables without bumping into neighbouring players.
£9.50 for 1 small and dry piece of breaded chicken on a small seeded bun. That's dearer than KFC?! The chicken wrap was £3 cheaper and twice as large but had equally bad chicken. Almost as if it had been reheated multiple times it was that rubbery.

Called in for a quick drink between trains. So welcoming and lovely staff. Really reasonable prices too. Meeting Harry Canine was an added bonus. Thank you.
There's a new chef in town!
Incredible food, the Fish and chips were amazing but the star of the show was the marmalade bread and butter pudding!
I'm coming back for more!

This restaurant appears to be closed down. The telephone number is not recognised. My husband has just driven down there and there is no-one there and no lights on. It is closed.
