Appalling behaviour from the landlady

The only people in this establishment who really care about their jobs and show any levels of professionalism are the landlady's polite and kind daughter and the hard working glass collector chap, (he would benefit from a glass basket, so that he can do his job properly. Why would you make him carry around dirty glasses squashed against his chest)? The landlady is more concerned about getting blind drunk "whilst so called working" and disgracefully flirting with her male bar staff, rather than paying attention and serving her customers. It was embarrassing and sickening to witness. She would even stoop as low to even drink from your glass whilst serving you. She clearly has little, almost, no respect towards her paying customers. The toilets were an upmost discrace, filthy and uncleaned. A total unhygienic, disgraceful and disgusting place to visit. I would NOT recommend going there unless you want to be repulsed and served in such an unprofessional way and expect to be insulted as the landlady walks around the bar screaming and disrespecting her customers. These standards are why the hospitality industry is suffering and on a serious decline. A very disappointing and unpleasant experience.

George was the most amazing landlord and was so funny, this brewery would be silly not to keep him as a permanent operator, such a great achievement for craft union,George has already got a great repetoire with the customers. I have been drinking here 40 years and he is a good choice to run the pub.

The current operator is a great contribution to the community and is such a great young chap, so glad that this pub is finally on the right track

Great local, was travelling through on karaoke night. Some very talented people, great service, regulars are friendly. Overall, a very good evening.

Lovely pub been in here for years …. Staff lovely….. lovely refurbished…. Just please please need air con that works it is soooo hot in here and no windows to open I’m asthmatic and struggle to breathe…. Elderly people who use the pub have the same issues …. Thankyou

Staff absolutely fantastic all the locals made us very welcome I'm a Manchester United supporter and to be welcomed like that in a pub on away day was fantastic to the lovely lady behind the bar and the barman to the chap in the red t shirt and the cobs are to die for beer good price keep up the great work and once again thanks for your hospitality.

It's a flipping pub. Is it high class, trendy or family friendly no! It's a pub good and simple. Whats it got going for it a dame good digital jukebox loads of rock and metal.... well I like it. Beers cheep what more do you need.

A bit of a drinkers pub this one, it was right over the road to the hotel we were stopping in so became the local so to speak. The racing was on and the bookie was just over the road. The beer selection suited everybody and it has a jukebox which was well used. All in all a good place for the locals and us weekenders.
