Durham Ox in Leicester

I had ordered 2 tandoori roti and 1 naan. But I only received 1 of each. When I called the restaurant and informed them that I ordered 2 roti and only received 1. Was informed to come and collect it. And than he cut the call. Called them few times but went on voicemail. Received a called back and was informed that there is no one to deliver the roti and was told to complain. Customer service was really bad and the person who I spoke to was very rude and not helpful.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Durham Ox in Leicester. The food was exceptionally delicious – fresh, fragrant, and so flavorful that it left me wanting more with every bite. Visited last night has a group of four. Had a few drinks. And decided we would have a takeaway. What a fantastic choice we made, food was exceptional quality and portions were very good. All served by very polite staff. We are giving our visit five 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and will definitely be calling again.

Good food and drink at reasonable and competitive prices

Nice food, good beers on tap, but the restaurant is not well managed. They take bookings over the phone but don't have tables so obviously they're not serious. Need to be careful with portion sizes and always check your bill. Parking is a problem.

A pub which is begging for a good refurbishment to modernise. On the positive the food was really good and the service was fast and attentive with good value for money. We ordered the soya keema, aubergine stir-fry and paneer shashlik. We would definitely return.

Food quality is one of the best in Leicester. Affordable drinks too. Get your bottom down here and sample a local delight!

The food was good. Service was really poor, and I had to ask 4 times to take the order. Had to ask 3 times for the table to be cleared even though it wasn't cleared properly. not great atmosphere for families very male oriented.

As a customer of the Durham ox for many years...I am happy to see what the newer owners have done with the place...very good food and very friendly, accommodating staff. Even let me bring my scooter in while I had food from the beer garden. Will be back.

This is my first experience eating and drinking in the Durham Ox. I found the food from start to finish to be superb and trying nepalese curry for the first time to be excellent. The staff and customer service (Jot) were very welcoming and genuinely appreciated the positive reviews. I was able to meet the owner who was a lovely gentleman. I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family. Thanks to everybody at the Durham Ox.

Great food, classic work mens club but the Indian version. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Food is 10/10.

Read your bill carefully, they added a fillet steak to ours and we stupidly paid it without checking.

It's a good pub that feels welcoming to the asian community. The food is well made and has a good amount of spice and flavour. The drinks are well priced too. Decently priced, and a good place for a night out for food and drinks.

This is my favourite place to go for food and drink. Have been so many times and the food has always been consistent. Taken friends and family also to this pub and never had any complaints with the food. Also the drink prices are very reasonable compared to other places.

Even though we were not dressed for occasion! We were pleasantly welcomed, beautiful place, friendly, cosy, relaxing place. Food was amazing would highly recommend!!

What can I say about UK pub food. We had an amazing dinner here whilst visiting Leicester. The food was full flavour and if I lived in Leicester I would come back to try more dishes. Come and see for yourself.

Good service, good food, staff are friendly... You can park on the street, quite busy on weekends, plan your visit on week days

Had heard great things about the menu and visited with a family that had dined here before. However, the lamb in the lamb on the bone curry was full of gristle in each piece and tough. Needed a slower longer cook. Chicken on the bone curry was lovely The mixed grill selection had a majority of dry pieces. Fish starter was beautiful. And the veggie noodles were great. The staff were helpful but at the same time little slow with attentiveness. Unfortunately, we won't be dining in here again. Maybe a takeaway in the future.

It is absolutely delicious when it comes to food and service. Portion sizes are reasonable for the cost, and taste is always above expectations! From a venue perspective, car parking is limited and can take a while to locate a spot. Inside ambience is general pub style (loud). This would be massively improved with some investment to create a more 'cosy' environment. Nonetheless, great drinks and unmatched food quality. Comfortable for friends, family, and groups.

Looks like a dive pub from the outside but the food and service is amazing. Went with a group of friends and everything was cooked well. Shame about the few in the pub that unfortunately was intimidating and taking drugs outside of the doors to the pub.

Service was a bit slow, we had to ask for the bill about three times, Bar and Grill do run smoothly although when it gets busy a bit chaotic. The food was well worth it. Good portion size and well priced. My party of 3 made a request for an extra lamb chop on our special sizzler as it only came with two which the chef catered for. Drinks are extremely cheap here and taste is not compromised.

Really good food and great prices.

I came after a few recommendations from a business that does marketing for restaurants around the UK, and the service was terrible. We waited for a good 10 minutes. Server Kalan offered a table which was not wiped for a good 15mins and then came with used tissue and wiped and left the bottles there. It may have just been one off but totally put me off and the attitude of the server was terrible too.

Excellent place, highly recommended. Good selection of drinks at a very low price. Food is brilliant and atmosphere is great. Definitely the best Indian pub in Leicester

The Currys were absolutely banging and the naan bread light and was very good I tend to eat out alot n this is one the favs going forward

Great food and plenty of drinks selections. I love a good beer from the tap and this place has plenty of selection from Cobra, madri, Morretti, Heineken to name a few and all at a very good price. Food was really good. I recommend the salt and pepper chicken

Fabulous food, great service, and friendly staff. It's a shame that a very noisy, four mouth and inconsiderate crowd were in. I could hardly hear myself think, let alone have a conversation. They also thought rules about vaping didn't apply to them. This may have been a one-off incident as it was my first evening visit?

Amazing service from manisha, om and janak its one of the best restaurants in leicester. I am sure i am gonna visit it again.

Atmosphere was great, food was nice. Only thing after receiving our mane meal after 10 mins the rice dish came out, we all had finished the curry. Other than that the Durham Ox was good.

The food was actually decent. Felt it was a bit of an inconvenience to get all drinks at the bar, as it made the evening much more physically challenging. I'd say more music and down lighting. Good price though and huge variety of food

Been here a couple of times over the last month as it was recommended by a friend, got to admit I really like it! Food is generally a really good standard! The sizzlers are spot on, as is the aubergine starter. I found some of the other starters not so good, but that's down to taste I suppose. The chicken on the bone was very bland, which was surprising as the starters were so good! Relaxed atmosphere, great for a few casual drinks, does get quite busy so parking can be an issue, and can be quite noisy also, as it's just one big space.

Had a reunion here and it was a fantastic night, great atmosphere and the staff were amazing. Didn't eat but the food looked great. Would highly recommend a visit.

Bad customer service, nothing on menu available... cheap drinks but wouldn't eat there.... the chef is a waste of time... came to my table to tell me I cant have anything I want to eat, ended up somewhere else, glad we did.

Never has anything that's on the menu.. everything we wanted to eat, not available. Might as well close shop. Had to leave and go to a better place to eat. No wonder booze is cheap. Worst place to eat.

Excellent service and atmosphere. Tried poppadoms and pickles, a few starters and was left very impressed. Will be back for some mains soon. Drinks prices are amongst the cheapest you'll find anywhere!! The Durham Ox is back in business!
