PAI in Leicester

The lunch I had was a big portion for one person at a very good price. Cosy atmosphere in a quiet corner of the city centre. I would definitely recommend it for a tasty meal at a reasonable price. Very good service and friendly staff.

Really disappointing after wanting to try Kai for so long queuing up and being told to go over to Pai where the menu is the same. Headed over to Pai the food looked great however, we sat for 35 minutes waiting for someone to take our order when we asked we were ignored whether or not they heard us I don’t know. We ended up walking out, I appreciate places can be busy however not being acknowledged for that long I wouldn’t want to spend my money there.

Absolutely delicious food. Generous portions of brunch menu. Pizza dough perfect.

I love pizza. Its my favourite food. I also love fried chicken. Pai sell a Pizza topped with Southern Fried Chicken and Fries. Amazing. The coffee is also fantastic and gave me a buzz.

Great cafe, lovely food, wonderful staff. Wanted a carb-free lunch and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Slow service. Staff stood around behind the bar area chatting away. Had to go up to ask for our order to be taken after waiting for 15 mins and was told someone would be over then took orders from customers that were seated after us first. From being seated to being served our food took an hour. Others around us complained of the time as well. Food was average. Much better places around.

I went for the £8 lunch meal deal. Outstanding! Food was delicious, ample portion and I've never seen a more industrious waiter. The pizza was as good here as any you would get in all of Italy! Brilliant!

I had a vege lover pizza here a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Plenty of toppings as well so no complaints.

The manager/main chef went out of his way to disrespect one of his employees/managing partner and it was absolutely horrible Besides that food was great

We ate here today and had 2 pizzas. 'The spicy one'. Was very greasy. The harissa chicken was bland. The dough was nice but that's about it. The beer was over £6 and flat. Service was good and the atmosphere is great, but based on the food, I wouldn't be returning.

Good place kai was to busy so gave us the options to eat here and not have to wait. Portions were great deserts brilliant they did take forever to bring the food and had to ask multiple times even though inside was not busy!

I had known of this place for a while but had never been. I should have done it much sooner! Went with my dad for lunch today and we were both shell shocked at the food. First of all, we were not expecting the portion sizes to be as generous as they were. I also wasn’t expecting much in terms of flavour, as I find that in most places the seafood pasta is quite mild-tasting and pretty unimpressive, but I was amazed when I took that first bite. So much flavour! I haven’t had seafood pasta that good in many years. We both loved the bruschetta and my dad loved his seafood pizza. The service was also outstanding, they were soooo lovely. I will definitely be coming back.

Great pizza, generous toppings, cheap prices

Been here many times and I love it, food portions are always generous and foods delicious. Would suggest that staff check on how the food is just in case anything’s wrong, but there never has been for me! Make sure to ask for garlic mayo dip when you have pizza it’s delish

Food was very tasty and quick. We booked the previous week (6-7pm Saturday) when we were in Leicester, then saw they barely had a customer. Put us off a little bit... But we still went the following Saturday, however, didn't realise they had an upstairs so actually could've had customers. I'd recommend them not asking where you'd want to sit, sit people downstairs! It makes you look dead otherwise. Service was strange and not very attentive, we ordered some things and they didn't arrive until we notified the staff. 1 drink and again another side... Pizza was lovely. I'm sure it was just a hiccup.

Found this place by chance and glad we did . The food was to a very high standard and the portion sizes were very generous.

First time but definitely not the last. When the Margherita is good I'm sure the rest of the options are even better.

Food was good but the service was not. Initially forgotten about after being sat down and had to flag them down to have our order taken. Then when we did order they take payment first and then you wait a long time again for food. Drinks were also forgotten about and we only received them halfway through our food when asked about them. Improve the service and this would be a good place.

Really brilliant service from both Pai and Kai restaurants accomodating us with our ND child who was struggling. Nothing was too much trouble. Frequently checked in with us. Food was lovely, nice big portions. Well looked after.

Nice place, partner of Kai so if there’s no space there they send you to pai. Food is aesthetic but almost looks better than it tastes.Drinks are bad though, hot chocolate tasted like water with a bit of cocoa powder. Chai latte was also watery with a bit of foam on top

Horrendous experience Had to send fried back as they were burnt, they ran out of ice, cocktails took 20-30 minutes to come and at the end they weren’t able to produce a receipt for the bill ! and stated they only show you what you order so essentially they can charge what they wanted to without proof Strange as the restaurant used to be very good

The pizzas were so good, unfortunately we were the only 4 people within the restaurant

Firstly they don’t take cash! After ordering food everyone on my table received their orders I had to wait and in the end a member of my party had to ask where mine was. I didn’t really enjoy it when it did arrive however that’s on me I’m sure other people enjoyed it. I won’t be returning.

The food was so delicious, pizza we enjoyed it so much. We didn’t know they’re doing 2 4 1 only till we went paying the bills, which was a bonus 🥰

Mushroom pizza is to die for. The sourdough base is delightful and the fries are beautifully crispy.

Very nice pizzas, we had the sea food pizza and the pesto one. Both were good but I wouldn't order the seafood again, it was good to try once and that's it. I could see there was only one chef handling everything and all orders so by 8pm he wouldn't accept any more people which is understandable but I imagine it would be disappointing to get to Pai and you can't get a table not because of availability but due to being short staffed. Anyway, i would go again and look forward to trying different dishes

My fav and the most generous avocado on toast with (ot without for the vegans) poached eggs. And for the non-veggies with a side of bacon 🥓. Heavenly.

We went for Lunch on a weekend and sat outside. The menu is simple and the chap who served us was really polite and friendly. My partner had the pancakes and they are impressive with generous toppings. I had the bbq chicken pizza and it was a little underwhelming, still nice but not much topping which was frustrating when compared to all the amazing dishes coming out. Pricing is right for the product but again, just based on my pizza, it was overpriced a little. I’d deffo go back but will likely try something else.

Had a really lovely breakfast here. Much more space upstairs than you'd expect. Good choice of food for vegetarians.

Great Brunch concept from its sister restaurant Kai, I had the vegan benedict it was banging very tasty and filling, cool vibe to with nineties hip hop in the back round. This would kill in london

We ordered from the KAI @ PAI menu as I’d been fantasising about the beautifully oozy Red Leicester pancakes since I first had them at KAI a few months ago but both menus were mouth watering. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the decor is lovely, downstairs is a great spot to sit and people watch

Went for brunch at Kai at Pai. Very interesting selection of breakfast like chese onion and bacon on a pizza base. Best American style pancakes I've had outside of America. Had pancakes with Bacon and maple syrup. Very nice.

We arranged a last min family gathering here. The staff were so accommodating & patient. And then the delicious food… would most definitely recommend this place. Try the chilli sauce - it’s awesome!

We regularly go to Pai's for lunch and have never been disappointed with any of the food we have tried. The staff are really accommodating and polite. I wouldn't go anywhere else for pizza!

Was passing through St Martins Square and saw this pizza place, absolutely cracking pizza!! Polite waitress, good food. Would recommend for sure.

Came by here on a quiet Wednesday to see what's up. The pizzas are all freshly made and cooked in a gigantic, authentic wood fired oven (you can see the split logs used to feed it in the kitchen!), and only took a few minutes to come out. If it was busier I assume it'd take longer but I'd barely sipped my drink and the pizza was already out. A really well made pizza, with an excellent base and most importantly, a good tomato sauce full of flavour. Get the garlic oil to finish off the crusts.

Spotted this little gem as we were walking through Leicester. Food was great, staff were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

We just stumbled across this place over the weekend and decided to try it out. They had great availability, lovely service, and we will be visiting again. The food really is incredible over there. The menu isn't massive, but thats obviously so that they can concentrate on the meals they do offer. The pizzas were perfect. I ordered the arrabiata for my kids, which was a bit too spicy for them (staff did advice us of this when bringing our meals), but I just swapped with them and had it for myself. Normally I'm used to arrabiatas not actually being spicy, so it was so flavoursome for an adult. It would be good if they did cater for children and have a childrens menu, and maybe some desserts, but otherwise for us it was perfect.

Great little restaurant in St Martins. Lovely friendly welcome from the staff and shown to a table. Good menu with a great selection of pizzas, a pasta and a couple of salads. They have a real pizza oven so we chose to have 2 pizzas. They were the best pizzas we have had anywhere. Lovely and light with tasty toppings. Good selection of drinks including beers and coffees. Outside seating as well. Definitely worth a visit especially for the pizzas. We will be going again.

Called in for lunch while passing and discovered a treasure! This was the best pizza we've had in a long time - excellent tomato base, thin, crispy dough just as it should be ( the sourdough starter came in from Italy) and the toppings just right; everything so flavoursome and served with friendly, helpful efficiency. So much better than the chains, a lovely spot in St Martins. We will be back!

I've dined in and ordered takeout about five times since this place has opened and it has been consistently delicious. Good range of vegetarian pizzas but the standout is the paneer pizza; amazing combination of flavours. The pasta is simple but done well and flavourful, generous portions too. Service and welcome from the owner is always warm.

This place is the worst. My daughter and her two friends who are aged 16 chose this place to celebrate their party. First of all they sat upstairs, they were forgotten about completely, told to pay up front which was miscalculated they tried to rip the youngsters off but luckily they are switched on. They asked for a receipt they said we don't give do that here! They ordered drinks and asked for a jug of water they only bought two glasses of water no jug. The pizza was awful no cheese just soggy tomato base. Never asked them if meal was OK. Disgusted!

Short menu but good food and excellent service.

Been twice now, food is good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Both times I've been the drinks haven't been served until after the food and we had to ask for them again. I think a little training could go a long way. If this was sorted, this place would be great

Basic food, pasta was good, pizza was fine, but avoid their salad.

Liked their pizzas and the location is very nice. Not necessarily a traditional pizza but there are interesting options including those for vegetarians and vegan.

Really nice pizza. Served by Jack (I think - said he’d only been there two weeks) who was so lovely and was really personable; a credit to the team! Chatted to me like I was an old friend and not just a customer. Clean environment and just good vibes all round.

The food was brilliant. We were served by Jack and he made our visit extremely pleasant, being super quick and accommodating. Will come back again!

such a lovely friendly independent place, The outdoor seats catch the sun all afternoon so perfect for an outdoor lunch. pizza menu had a vegan option of artichoke and courgette with vegan cheese and pesto, really tasty, great value too, will defo be back

The food was amazing and the customer service was even better. Our server Lucy made us feel comfortable, she was kind, lovely and patient. Very good first impression, will be definitely coming back.

The place is fantastic..the dough is ok but for me the pizza was a bit undercooked.

Had a couple of their pizzas takeaway. Delicious and reasonably priced.
