Good food , music , kids friendly sorted hair chairs and we had a birthday meal was really nice .

Great place for food and drinks had a great time as there was a live band playing

Food was decent but don't expect to finish your food inside of 4 hours on a busy night. Appalling speed of service. This is a shame as the service is enough to overshadow the quality of food and if the staff were more attentive and food was leaving the kitchen faster then this would be one of the better Indian restaurants. In addition, we had live singing which on its own isn't bad but the high volume became very jarring after several hours.

Came here last night service is good but when handing out plates and glasses it was dirty and unhygienic i order a regular coke and it was sticky the food was okay but the way plates and glasses were served it put me off i wouldn’t recommend

Service was good but the beer was not poured correctly however get another but the problem lay with the pump as it had not been used often

We went for birthday party dinner, there was a live music which was too loud for small room, food came after an ages as there was an another event was going on other side, requested no spice noodles for child still came spicy which came after 2 hours, food quantity was low, needs to look for the staff for cutlery as not enough staff we could see to attend us, there's no menu for drinks so we can't see the price, after all very bad experience, won't recommend to anyone !

This was our first visit here on Saturday 6th April 2024 was recommended by a work colleague I would definitely recommend this place and I will definitely go back, Thank you to Rocky and all the staff too for looking after us

We came to this resturant with family the atmosphere was so good. Excellent service and the food was absolutely delicious. Rocky recommended us the food to order and great service from Dhaval. We enjoyed the live music!

We had fantastic time at the Royal Leicester bar and restaurant for our daughter's 21st Birthday party. The food was delicious, especially tandoori chicken, lamb curry and chicken dabah. Thank you to all the staff,DJ and Rocky for helping us making the party memorable.

Oh dear I used to love this place. The food is good but recently had a bad experience on a busy night. They had an event and 2 largish table which meant out service for ever! In total or meal took 3.5 hours! I think our order was pushed behind all the preordered food. Shame really as it almost ruined a birthday meal

First time eating here, the food was nice... but the service was slow and we were there for nearly 4 hours in total. Not sure what the issue was but I am sure they could have done better.

We went to this pub/Indian restaurant. Food was mouthwatering Judy like home made. There was a live music father and duo Raj and Damini there music was awesome they sang old and new songs. The duo should be in Indian idol fantastic singers. Rocky your place is fantastic keep up the good work.

We were looking for catering for our wedding party, I was a little unsure which caterer to go with however I had been to Royal Leicesters previously and really enjoyed the food there. I thought I’d ask the question to see if they could provide catering for us. Rocky was super helpful and provided good guidance on what to order etc. the food itself on the day was perfect! lamb bhuna and chicken tikka were the show stoppers and all our guests loved and complimented the food. All round great service from Rocky and his chef, most importantly thank you for all your efforts and thank you for providing amazing good quality food on our special day.

Best veggie food in Leicester I ever had, Had my daughters birthday party with 35 peoples, and children had so good authentic food including starters with unlimited drink and juice. Worth of money. Highly recommended for party and other events. Even owners nature is so good, feel like family.

Had a birthday party with friends - group of about 25 including children. Food quality and service was one of the best. Great atmosphere created by the live singers singing Bollywood numbers. The outdoor space was very cosy with a nice summer evening. Both veggies and non-veggies were praising the food when we were off the venue too! I will not be surprised if many of the group are found regularly at this place in future having Bollywood musical parties with beer n a bite 😋

A year ago I gave 5 stars. So let me explain why 1 now. Firstly very dishonest. They give 2 receipts when you pay the bill. But it is all added on 1 reciept. Some months ago they let us pay both which was over £100 extra. They did not correct us but took the money even though our group was regulars there. We let it go as a bad experience but they forget I can leave a new review. The last time we went was. Terrible. Sorry, the starters were good. Goat curry was tomato flavour. £45 a pot. Keema had no flavour. I did not try the chicken. Pan was great. They probably lost the chef. That's another restaurant in Leicester for us to avoid. When I worked out our food bill a few months ago I realised how we paid twice for drinks but the goat curry was still worth returning for. It was not Rocky but the other person who took the extra money and said nothing. We have probably been ripped off before. Now many years ago I worked in a restaurant ind I know a couple of extra drinks went on bills by the owner. But I have never been asked to let a customer pay twice for a bill. £10 a person blends in easily as it a large group. Never confronted them but we knew the bills had to be checked. No issue now as we won't go back as food not nice.

Goat curry special was very good! Other dishes were a little disappointing

Family was coming from up north, who know they Goat curry really well. I booked and preordered and deposit. The royal sizzler was excellent but the show stopper Goat Curry and simply heavenly, the flavours of the spices and meat was exhilarating to say the least. Cooked in a traditional clay pot was so rustic looking reminded me of India. If you love your food you can’t go wrong at Royals, it’s a bar grill keep that in mind but food up there with the best of Leicester’s Restaurants.

Royal Leicesters is a one of a kind restaurant. Party of 6 ordered a range of dishes - nothing disappoints. All food was delicious and fresh. Great atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. Came to this restaurant following a recommendation - I will be sure to recommend to many more people!...You must visit!.

The food here is lovely alongside the atmosphere and service you receive. Staff are very welcoming and polite. The menu suits everyone’s needs and it is a definitely great visit for families too. The food at Royal Leicester's is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. The ambiance is brilliant, I visited this place with my family so welcoming. We have now been to Royal Leicester a few times and it hasn’t disappointed us. The cleanliness, customer service and food is really really nice. It’s family friendly and service is with a smile. Rocky will make you feel at home. Would I recommend to family and friends, without a doubt.

Very nice clean and chilled place ideal for families. Excellent friendly service. 5 star rating as the food was absolutely first class starters boneless mix grill & main Dhaba chicken with garlic & keema naan. Can highly recommend.

Being going for at least 15 years and more to come , the food and the staff have ever been so good , the landlord is great a pleasure to know and does a fantastic job at the pub and for the community, I've never known a disappointed customer yet. The Royal Leicesters is the place to be nice friendly people and a laugh to go there. Just a shame you get a very sad person who is barred from the pub because he is a drug dealer and finds the need to slag the place of and my friend Hayley but hasn't got the balls to say it to there faces. So take your sad Post down!!!

Ladies, fellas, everyone... get down here and check out the amazing live Indian music, particularly on a Saturday night! Never experienced anything like it before and I've been to a fair few indian pub nights including many visits here. We had some food before in the pub area and then went down to the restaurant side to enjoy some great music and everyone was dancing their socks off!! Good old Leicester huh... Great food, great local! Only downsides are maybe the loos and they never have any "crispy bhajiya" in!! Sort it out!

It's not even worth 1 start I'd rate it in mins if the option was available. The environment Was dull, there was live music which was not audance relevant, and the seating also was disappointing.

The special fish starter was tasty. We had ours with garlic and chilli naan. The masala lamb mains was not upto expectations as the sauce was too thick and not served as we requested. Overall a pleasurable experience.
