Enjoyed s meal here with my Family. The food was a bit spicy, but good. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

Food is awesome but Girl staffs are so rude. Management should tech them how to speak with customers.

The service was a bit slow and their masala tea wasn't the best I've had. Snacks, eg. chaat and pav bhaji were quite authentic and tasty. The music could be a bit softer.

Good vegetarian food and huge selection of mithais. They also offer buffets lunches.

We came here for Mothers Day and were charged £11.95 per person for the buffet. The normal charge is around £6 per person for the buffet. At the time of booking we were told the increase was due to a special menu on the night for the buffet. When we arrived the place was very busy however there was not a special menu as we had previously been told. We asked where the special menu was and were told someone would come over to speak to us. Nobody came. The food in the buffet was cold and there were also empty trays where food should have been. There were hardly any staff and I overhead some other customers complaining as well. The restaurant seems to have gone downhill in my opinion and we won't be going there again. Not a great experience. We would have had a better experience and service going elsewhere.

The food was very nice and staff were really helpful, enjoyed an evening there on my mums birthday. The food was spot on, I don't normally eat fried but made an exception as the everything was drained out thoroughly and was really nice. My mum enjoyed herself and ate more then she usually does. I would recommend sharmilee and will be returning in the near future. Also a thank you to the staff who helped me with my dietary needs.

Good place for vegetarian food staff really friendly

Good place for sweets and they have a restaurant dine in area upstairs. I would recommend their spring rolls and savoury items. paneer options and the way they prepare them could be improved.

The takeaway at the ground floor and the restaurant on the first floor. The restaurant was closed when I visited. The delicious Gujarati snacks available from the takeaway counter.

I have been going to Sharmilee for decades and I'm so glad it is still going, and still as good as ever. Today we tried the lunchtime buffet as we didn't have a lot of time and couldn't wait for individual dishes to be prepared to order. It was very reasonably priced, good food, freshly made. It's very popular and I'm not surprised.

Ordered dahi puri, noodles, and had a buffet. Everything was served after 30 mins wait. Dahi puri was worst, soggy and not really sweet and tangy as you want a chat to be. Despite of instructions that noodles should be served medium spicy, they were still extreme spicy and served probably after an hours wait time. Not even near to authentic taste.

My favourite Indian restaurant and have been going for over 30 years. Menu offers a good selection of dishes and portions are generous. The Mix Chaat starter is a delight, offering an explosion of various flavours

We generally go to this restaurant for lunch when we go to Leicester for shopping or just for eating out and for sweets and confectionary, but this time we went for buffet dinner to participate in their celebration for 50 years in business. Despite a massive queue waiting to be seated, the service was very quick with extremely friendly and smiling staff as usual. The buffet lunch and/or dinner offers a very wide variety of different tasty items, to eat as much as you want, for a fixed price. This is definitely a value for money and would recommend it to anyone.

Had Dinner today. Amazing food. Dahi Puri & Panni Puri best in the town. Hakka Noodles were amazing……. Taste like wow ☺️….. Chilli Paneer was superb. Chole Bhature was also good.

The restaurant was freezing with no heating on, and the manager made excuses that the heating was broken even though it was working in the downstairs restaurant. It was too small of an area to move us downstairs. Bear in mind that it snowed that day with temperatures below 0!!! Some food came out cold and tasteless. I will not be returning to or recommending this place to anyone again. We kindly asked for a hot tea to warm ourselves up, but he said we would have to pay extra.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The food quality didn't meet my expectations; it wasn't up to par. The ambiance seemed outdated, contributing to a less-than-ideal dining atmosphere. Opting for unlimited food dishes, I found it to be an option I personally dislike. It didn't enhance my dining experience. Considering these aspects, I'm hesitant about revisiting. However, these views are subjective, and others may choose to try it for themselves. My overall impression leans towards not recommending it for those with a discerning palate and specific preferences.

We went all the way to Leicester to get sweets for Diwali the selection was poor and so was the quality very disappointed

We came with our family yesterday the food is rally amazing everything is fresh and service was on top Manager was really polite and served us food on table because buffet was really crowded and we couldn’t go in. Must visit this place I totally recommend.

Rudest manager ever. he was shouting and when we complained about that then he was telling to his staff that give them a free coke and tell them it's free from manager side. the one lady who served us was amazing and polite. very kind in nature. just because of her i am giving 5 star.

Food was lovely especially buffet on a Saturday, £10.50 very reasnoble price! Up to 5 different curry's and even to types of rice! Mango juice and salad! Would Reccomend to anyone

No one bothers if you need anything or not. Also, their so called sharmilee's best karahi was the worst of all. Everything was having sugar in it.. Although we informed them before that we don't want sugar in anything but still..

I want to complain because Sharmilee charge more for their Buffet in the weekend! The food is usually better in the week days. This time we visited in the weekend for dinner! The buffet was terrible! The curry was dry, the dhal was bland- no spice at all and the staff didn't care! It was ridiculously hot because of the recent heat wave and they didn't have the air con on, they refused to put it on! If Sharmilee are charging more, the food should be up to standard too!

I normally do a visit here from Newcastle to take a food parcel back home. I ordered my regular items then I wanted a few extra items but was confused with all the variety. The owner patiently explained things to me, let me sample a few items and never once rushed me. Once I had everything he carefully packed two parcels for me; one picnic for the car journey home and one parcel to be packed in my boot. I greatly appreciated the time and effort given especially considering that the place was busy.

We’ve loved going to this restaurant over the past 3 decades. Today I left disappointed and shamed to have taken family from out of town to a restaurant that served a dish that our guests said they would not take home but give to the homeless guy on the street. First sign they no longer have a license to serve alcohol. We should have left at this point because it was the food we had come for. Out of 3 starter dishes we got 2 and had to chase for the third which arrived after we had finished the ones we had received. Crispy Bhajia good. Pani puri tasteless. Dhai Vada were sweet and green chutney had no flavour. Pau bhaji was not seasoned well neither was the aloo paratha. Veggie rice was just rice you couldn’t find the vegetables and was just oily and no flavour Chole Bhatura - Bhatura we’re great but the chole no where near to what we have enjoyed time and time again in the past. This dish was the main reason for us bringing our guests to this restaurant. Urad again no flavour. Three main dishes did not get ordered so whilst the rest of us ate 3 people had to wait for their food. This was embarrassing for me. All in all £98 lighter and very disappointing. Sharmilee management please bring yourselves back to the excellent standards you used to have.

Been a while since I've had to buy Asian snacks. However it seemed a tad too expensive. We had to wait quite a while to be served, though no one else was in the shop.

Very helpful staff, food is very tasty. We have been to Sharmilee over 30 years and quality is still good. Upstairs restaurant is a lot better now. I forgot my wallet and they went through trouble of accepting PayPal. Take away food is always fresh. We love kachori.

Great food. Excellent service. All items ordered were delicious in taste and good sized portions. The buffet was outstanding and everything was made fresh. The service and management was really good. My entire family enjoyed the experience and would return back many times without hesitation.

Sorry I've been here 3 time and the last 2 the savouries and sweets have been very disappointing. No favours and plain and dull. Going to have to walk further up the mile to try the others.

This place is one of the best in Leicester, me and famiy are pure vegetarians and we always enjoy our food from here. It is clean, they have fresh food and the staff is great. I would highly recommend this shop.

Tried Kachori with chutneys. We bought & ate next day. It was as crispy as we bought it. Excellent! Perfectly authentic in taste. Mind blowing. Must try. If you are fond of the same Indian Dal Kachori, this is the place. Do try.

Wonderful food that's very tasty and well priced. The buffet option is good, with limited variety but it's regularly topped up. The snacks and takeaways are the best in the best around and excellent value. Staff are friendly, however service is quite slow at times. Parking is walking distance as the restaurant is on the highstreet, and the seating area is upstairs, so caution to people with mobility issues. 100% recommended!

Service friendly and quick. Samosas just ok… not very flavourful at all… which was a disappointment. Spring rolls were nice. The food was fresh… just not quite tasty!

I have recently moved to the UK. In search of a good Indian food I reached Sharmilee restaurant. I preferred buffet as I was starving. The food was awesome. The variety of items in the buffet was wholesome, right from started to main course to desserts. Since then it has been my go to place when I crave for Indian flavours. People working in the restaurant are also very polite and respectful. Thank you!

Buffet Meal with family , majority of the food was cold, so did not enjoy eating cold food, we had to keep waiting for refills , selection was not great for a buffet , chana dish was watery n lacked flavour n Patra dish not a fan , no dessert that I could see apart from jalebi and mango pulp not a dessert to me , won’t rush to go again

We went to Leicester space centre, returning from there we went to Sharmilee restaurant. We asked if they can offer us buffet, they had almost finished, but got gulabjamun , fried fresh puris and warmed up daal, kadhi. Best customer care, service with a smile and very pocket friendly. Good taste, good heart to offer fresh and warm foods is their Royalry

For me this is by far the best restaurant in Melton Road, service is excellent and the food is 10/10. Usually go with family, we order the starters and they come out pretty quick even tho is freshly made, staff knows whay they doing and the service is amazing. Then the mains come out after we finish the starters and everything just gets better, the food is punched with authentic indian taste, it's like you can't get enough out of it. The freshly made parathas are amazing. After going a few times I had to get food to be catered and i'm telling you it didn't disappoint me.

We went for the buffet at lunchtime and enjoyed it. On a Saturday it fills up pretty quicklyand it's not a large restauranat so get there early

The food here was great. Really good. Sadly it was the slow service that let us down. It took 7 mins for each one of the 5 dishes we ordered to be served. The rest of the party ordered a Thali. They were convinced to be served from communal pots - what a mistake. The food came slow, not all at once as a Thali normally is. One table got all the desserts the other all the dhal and rice. We asked the waiter for a drink, and were told he'll send over someone to take the order. The person arrived 10 min later, funnily enough though, this same person was a waiter. It was not busy at all during this time. Our party was 12 adults and 3 children. I doubt we'll return unless part of a family function. But the consensus of the family was the same, great food, awful service.

We went to Sharmilee yesterday evening (Saturday) with our two grown up children. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent buffet which was amazing value for money. My husband and I are both vegetarian but our children aren't and they too thought the food was fantastic. We are all big fans of paneer and we were certainly not disappointed with the mutter paneer curry. The variety of curries in the buffet was super as were the puri breads and everything else. The staff were lovely, super polite and very helpful. We don't have one bad word to say about our experience and we'd all like to say a massive thank you to all the lovely team at Sharmilee, we will definitely return.

Good gujurati thali at a great price

Great Indian satvik home cooked like food. The kind lady gave us buffet unlimited, she fried fresh puris and jalebi. We were a bit late, she also told us that buffet will shut take your last fill. Very kind and considerate with children. Gave a lot of tomato ketch up. Dhosa was ok, but chutney sambhar was not good. But I think if you want Gujarati food sharmilee is the best

Food is always fresh and tasty, punjab samosas are the best here, the lunch buffet is also a very good value for money. Very authentic vegetarian food 👍

Came here after a very long long time for a family meal tonight and had a great time and the food was amazing. A massive well done to Akshay and Mishwa for great customer service, your bosses should reward you well for the great work you do. Thali, chilli paneer, hakka noodles and chole batura were just divine and filling.

We have been here several times for buffet upstairs, at £8 per person, it's fantastic value. With such a varied selection of chutneys, bhajiyas, pooris, curries, daals and rice. Loved it!

I've been to pretty much all of the restaurants on melton/belgrave Road. Then went here and this is by far the worst in terms of food and service. Rude staff, late and tasteless food. We went once, but will not go ever again.

Excellent meal. A great menu selection comprising of vegetarian dishes which all tasted great (we shared 3x starters and 4x mains). Top service and staff.

What fantastic service! Went to the shop with my cousins from Bradford, the guy behind the counter was so helpful and gave us so many things to taste and try before buying. Cousins came away so happy and will be ordering from the website for deliveries to go Bradford. Great service with a smile 😃

Visited Sharmilee for lunch buffet it was for the best price so many options from sweets to different types of curries and Puris, staff was very friendly and cleanliness was maintained throughout, anyone looking for a good Gujarati meal should surely visit. Butter paneer was tremendous! Such a great dish. Good roti too. Sharmilee special aloo was a bit underseasoned and directionless though, but fine.

I have been ordering from Sharmilee for past 3 years. When ever I have anything from them it has always been excellent. My delivery is always on time. Very good service and food is out of this world

Came for the diwali mithais as i do every year... Good mixture of different sorts all tasting incredible, the kaju katri in particular was my favorite.... Really busy this time of year but fantastic friendly staff and food you know you will enjoy that waiting isn't a problem at all! If your looking for mithai recommendations, then the kaju katri is your best bet, You won't b disappointed!!
