Servicio: buenarelación calidad-precio:comida normal: Malapeor comida india que he probado.

This Resturant is hidden away , out of the normal bustling busy locations of leicester , it's located at memory lane , next to the empire banqueting of Belgrave road , we thought let's visit this place as owners have changed from few years back . SET in a 50 seater Resturant , plenty room and very lovely set , Excellent service from waiters , the owner is constantly checking to ensure service is 10/10 We ordered our menu , first the poppadoms with various pickles , drinks , starters then mains , the Flavour is unique to only this Resturant , also the presentation , I can assure you this can only be seen here , you will not see this again anywhere , the styling of food appears to be on a level of central london . I advise everyone looking for a NON ALCOHOLIC atmosphere to visit here also 100% halal . I also noticed few people there that came to order for weddings , so outdoor catering for events also provided . Please do try this friendly Resturant and see what you have missed out .

Found this little restaurant down a side street, about a mile from the City Centre, just outside the Inner Ring road. Very pleasant welcome and some advice about their specials. We plumped for Chicken Niblets for starters, chicken legs smothered in a dark & spicy sauce. Well worth a try. After that we both had the chicken jalfreezi with pilau rice and a garlic naan, also very good. Service was fast and efficient. Be warned that there is no alcohol served, not that that worried us. Would recommend you give it a try.

It was bank holiday in march on monday weather was pleasant and parking was copious the restaurant is located in an area more industrial to me. However i did check a few reviews prior.. Went in there was some indian music playing im guessing it was hindi love sove songs however the waiter was prompt probably cause there was only one sitting of 4, people who were just finishing up n leaving.. The restaurant could seat no more than 100 people the decor wS contemporary sith a multi colour led lights flashhing giving it a b jt of a techno feel T the non alcohol inhic bar.. We ordered some. poppadoms 3 in tifal tbey were fresh but the sauce palettes they came were very small mini palettes so didnt really have too much to dip into.. This was my first negative nevertheless ordered drinks all the time we were there we were waited promptly. My mother wanted a mix grill well done we asked it was nearly well done one.. But boy was it a feast it was fit enough fir a lion to be happy we ordered a butter chicken plus a lamb recommended by the waiter boy were they amazing and fit for prince there wS so mich but it came in a rather unusual setting dont want ti spoil it fir you quality of food was 86/100 quality is definitely there have not been to many restaurants in Leicester due to the lack of quality and choice boy is this a definite contender.. Overall good to excellent but toilets were clean but in a weird set up. Can't explain.. If the owners went on a restaurant course in presenting and restaurant skills tbey has the potential to be award willing in my opinion its a new restaurant still in its early stages food is sublime price is fair Z G Suleman

Went to Indian Kohinoor the Saturday just gone in the evening with a friend finally after months of hearing rave reviews from friends and family. Did not book a table but went quiet early and thankfully they had a table. Managed to find parking outside as well, the last space. The restaurant is located not too far from the city centre. We sat down and looked through the menu. The food options sounded real nice and prices seemed pretty standardBear in mind, the restaurant is a very small room so very loud as all you can hear are the other tables which are closely near you. Not ideal for wanting to sit down and have a relaxed meal.Decided to share a mixed grill (£11.50) and masala chips (£1.75) for starter. Did not have to wait too long. The mixed grill came was very disappointing. No exaggeration, two lamb chops had no meat at all, first time I have complained in a restaurant during the meal, I showed the waitress she took it away and apologied and returned with replacement chops - one with meat one without. We didn't say anything. The rest of the mixed grill was lacking of flavour and not very nice. The sheesh kebab tasted awful. Masala chips were nice! The wait was not too long for the mains, we were looking forward to them as the waiter suggested the Chinese dish was very tasty. Main course we ordered the hot garlic chicken (£6.50) egg fried rice (£1.95) chicken saag (£6.50) and garlic naan (£1.95) the hot garlic chicken was not hot at all, tasted bland and simply fried chicken in a tomato sauce with a bit of burnt garlic. No taste to it. The chicken saag tasted very bland with hardly any chicken at all, no spices or salt. Looked very fancy but tasted cheap and no better than a warmed up curry from a supermarket! The mango lassi jug (£5.95) was nice. No idea why they serve the salad plates, yes it looks good but that is it. No sauce or chutneys. Was very disappointed, people have exaggerated on here or the reviews must be fake, would never recommend this place or go again, far better options in Leicester for nice tasting food. Me and my friend both said it was poor and one of the worst meals we have had in a while. Toilets were dirty too.Bill came to £36ish for the both of us which wasn't too bad or would have given it a 1 star. They need to concentrate on the taste of the food instead of concentrating on serving tacky looking dishes.

Ok so we'd had a tough day and decided to try this place after all the hype. It was a birthday meal out so wanted to go somewhere nice.We were advised that it was "best to book", as they're incredibly busy - which we did. Unfortunately we were running late and the boss man rang to ask where we were .... We were on our way!!And all because we were late - we were given the worst ever customer service. The restaurant was proper cramped... Literally back-to-back with the person at the table behind. We were pointed - not accompanied - to our table. Menus were not provided so we didn't even know at this point what to order!! We simply waited, and waited.....and waited....aaaaand waited. We're ignored a number of times, mind.25 minutes later the waitress comes and delivers her spiel. She takes our orders... We ask for water....and ask a further 3 times before we're passed a bottle. Then we wait patiently for a further 25 minutes before the food arrives... Tasty but what's with the presentation??? Overly OTT... Each dish had food tumbling out onto another dish.... So when all our food came to the table - there just wasn't enough space for it all!! It meant we had to eat fast and move dishes around. Plus it makes the dish go cold quicker. And the salad? Pointless - more for decor purposes than eating. The entire time we felt ignored and stared at and all because we were late!! OMG what a crime... We'd already rung to inform them that we were running late - can't be helped. You're hardly the 'Pied a Terre'.In the end we felt so darn uncomfortable that we paid and left. The only good point was the bill itself!!Indian Kohinoor... You suck!!!

I visited this restaurant with my family and ordered some curries and a biriyani dish. The biriyani dish did not arrive with the rest of the meal and when we politely (and quite reasonably) enquired about its whereabouts we were told by a very rude and patronising waiter that the rice dish always arrives after the rest of the meal. It was clear to us that this was not the case and the kitchen had simply forgotten about this part of the order. However, instead of owning up to the mistake and apologising, the waiter made us feel as if it was somehow our fault because we were uneducated simpletons who didnt conform to eating our meal in the order that the rest of the civilised world is accustomed to. He insisted that we pay for and take the biriyani as a takeaway even though it materialised just as we asked for the bill, which of course we refused to do.Needless to say, this will be my last visit here and i would advise management of this restaurant to be honest and upfront and to stop patronising their customers.

It's a nice small place that was recommended for its tasty food. And yes the food is really nice, but the service is poor. They kept us waiting ages for our starters, when it arrived they didn't bring the chips that was to go with the chicken. then after a long wait when I asked, I was told the chef had forgotten about this. I was disappointed, and advised I wasn't planning on paying £70 for a meal that was coming in dribs and drabs , after alll I wanted chips with my chicken not after!!! Once this was resolved the food came promptly and was very tasty. Having eaten in many restaurants I have to say food was really nice, but very poor service and small portions, and they really need to employ proper waiting stFf. The girls that were waiting were great, but we're struggling to keep up, and an older man who was waiting tables really didn't know what he was doing. I also noticed the owner was made aware of my annoyance, and instead of apologising, just looked at our table and sneaked away ( not great PR for a business owner.)

As my title, the food is of a very high standard! The service is extremely good too. I wouldn't change either. Prices were reasonable too. Few changes I would recommend would be to make the lassi glasses slightly bigger, maybe having a stronger extractor in the restaurant as I found the smoke niggling my throat and eyes and possibly investing in a car park. As I said though, food quality and service is spot on! It's a shame this place is kind of hidden away, highly recommend them to move to a more prominent area of Leicester! Thank you Indian Kohinoor!

I tried the vindaloo and it wasn't spicy at all, the food was very bland, I tried other dishes instead I felt the food was microwaved not cooked fresh. I expressed my disapointment when it came to paying the bill, I was expecting a discount, but the person wouldn't budge, I eventually called the chef and gave him the feedback.I spent approx £23 on the bill. We arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday and were the only ones in the restaurant and it was really cold. The restaurant is just a big room without a carpet and without heat was uncomfortable. We were told the heating had broken but in such circumstances a good restaurateur you would have tried to warm the place up. There is a real problem in that the front door leads straight onto the street. This needs sorting as in the depths of winter sitting anywhere near the door would be a problem. The food was good. A wide range was available and when it arrived it was well presented, so full marks there. Would I go back again? Probably, but I’d steer away from cold weather.

All dishes are presented well and does come as a surprise as many Indian restaurants rather just serve something in a Karahi. The place itself is small, but with a modern decor, the table arrangements can be made to accommodate large groups. Have been here a few times and only suggestion is that the food needs to be a bit more spicy and that grilled food needs to upped a level in terms of flavour and being more 'Grilled', However the currys do make up for the loss. Overall you wont be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I dying for a curry on the Friday night decided to check online for Indian restaurants not too far away . We came across this place and saw the reviews and became a little skeptical since all the reviews gave the place 5 stars( thought it may have been members of the restaurant themselves writing the review)Anyway, we arrived from Melton Mowbray and find this little restaurant quote isolated from all the other Indian places on the high road ..from the outside we really thought "is this really it?!" As it seemed quite modest for the reviews it recieved. We were seated anyway by friendly and courteous staff who remained that way all that evening .We ordered a lahori and a chicken Malaya which when they arrived were taken by surprise even though the reviews did mention how good the presentation would be...The food itself was absolutely delicious bring one of , if not the best Indian I've eaten in the UK .The mango lassi was amazing, fresh and high quality and the cheese and garlic naan was lovely .We both ate plenty and left full with Michelin quality food , in larger portions but for very modest prices ..our bill came to £26 for 2 of us.All in all a great place to eat at ...and definitely eat at again :)

Food 10/10, presentation 10/10, service 10/10. What more can I say. I am an Indian and have been resident in Leicester 40 years and have now found authentic HMC approved Indian food at last. Decor is mild and understated, chairs and tables of higher quality than anywhere else I have been, The waiters and waitresses are polite, smart and efficient, Service was exceptionally speedy even though we went on a Saturday night with a full restaurant. Food was top drawer all round, could not fault anything. The toilets are clean (always a good sign!). Even the manager came across to ask once if everything was satisfactory. The only minor downside is parking may be tricky especially if there is a function at the Empire Hall next door.

Amazing food, atmosphere and great service. A little gem of a place. If you haven't been here yet then don't delay....you will not be disappointed. Extensive menu and some very interested combinations and dishes which you wont find in your regular Indian. Riyaz the owner and his staff are a real asset. 10/10

In Leicester on business & dining alone on a dull Tuesday eveing, fancied an uncomplicated 'Indian' and certainly dropped lucky with the Kohinoor. This is as close as I've had to the 'real thing' outside Asia - which is remarkable. Had Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer, and superb Naan bread that was so light. £14 including drinks, poppadums, pickles etc. You cant get much better than that especially for such high quality. Impressed that the chef came out of the kitchen to ask how I enjoyed the meal. Will definitely go back this evening for another go at the menu.

Thought of trying a new place and read reviews about this place - having been to many a place in Leicester (and there's plenty) - Kohinoor comes out on top - the service was excellent very eager to please staff - food second to none, tasty, very well presented and really well done - they try, they very much try in an honest way without being pretentious and they come out on top - I don't write reviews - but Indian Kohinoor deserve one and as all the others have said before me ''I will be back'' Well done IK

Four of us ate here, including a two-year old. We initially thought we'd made a mistake - it wasn't the restaurant we expected, having recently been taken into new ownership. Therefore, it wasn't the menu we'd 'googled' and provisionally chosen from earlier in the day. Neither did they sell alcohol. However, having arrived, we decided to stay. The first impression was that the staff were very friendly. One waiter came to the table and asked if we wanted him to recommend any dishes. This was a nice touch. We decided against starters other than poppadoms and pickles, although the choice was plentiful, especially fish dishes. However, as a previous reviewer has stated, the main courses were a delight. The presentation was outstanding, lots of colours, e.g. peppers and radish, all delightfully crafted, in the accompanying salads. One of us had the Prawn dish, which looked amazing and came with a huge salad within a coconut shell. Another had a sizzling chicken shashlik platter, which came with chargrilled vegetables. I had Chicken Rogan Josh, which got more and more tastier with every mouthful. The chef then came to the table to ask how we were enjoying the meal. Again, a nice touch. We had a mild curry for the 2 y.o. for which they charged only a nominal fee. All in all we paid just over £40 - excellent value-for-money. The real irony is that we started the evening chatting amongst ourselves about never feeling the need to return to a curry house twice, but being lucky living in Leicester to be able to try a different one each time, but by the end of the meal we were all agreed that we would be back ... and soon ... and with others. Pretty faultless, we'd say.

New addition to leicester, decided to give it a try after some recommendation. New modern restaurant, with a fresh feel, and decor is minimal but elegant. Was seated instantly by friendly and attentive staff. Well presented menu and good selection of choice. Ordered a variety of starters between us, all were presented and cooked to perfection. The real surprise were the mains, the presentation caught me completely off guard. The main curries were presented well on a large plate with a very clever salad and leaf arrangement to accompany the dish. First impression immediately appease, and add to the experience. The mains were delicious! Ordered both chicken and lamb dishes, both just as amazing and meat cooked to perfection. Ask for the lamb lahori, a spicy lamb dish, which upon recommendation from the chef, hit the spot in terms of spice and heat. All in all, great new addition to leicester, and will be visiting again!
