Lovely food and good service, unfortunately the room was quite cold so the plates didn’t stay warm and we were quite cold. Would certainly go again but would enquire if they had lit the fires or turned up the heating when we booked. Doesn’t sound like a big thing but it spoiled the ambience

This restaurant is excellent in every way. I have been many times and there are many other regular clients. The food is some of the best, if not the best, in the area. There are regular changes to the menu, but not the whole of it at once, which I find is a big advantage. The ambience of the restaurant is comfortable and attractive. The manageress of the restaurant has been there several years and is very efficient. It would be difficult to find a more efficient or more pleasant a person.

Christmas Day Our family of 13 (including children and babies) dined here Christmas Day 2023 and had a wonderful experience. We do eat here regularly and that is due to Agi and his staff's attention to detail both in the kitchen and service. So we decided to reserve our table for the "big day" and we were not disappointed. For those wondering, do we take the step to dine out on Christmas Day....when it's as good as we experienced it, it's absolutely a no brainer!!!! What a chilled out day we had and the food was top notch! Could not have asked for a more brilliant afternoon. Let me tell you next year we shall do it all again!!!!! Thank you Agi and all your fab staff 😁

I've I've been to many restaurants where a gratuity charge is automatically added to your bill. It's usually a good indicator you are about to receive excellent service. The Livesy Arms is a beautiful gastro pub in an idyllic Lincolnshire village. It has a fine reputation for offering outstanding food in a cosy environment. All was going well with my birthday meal until we asked to pay. The food was everything I hoped for, and the service was satisfactory to this point. However, when we requested to split the bill between families, we were met with what can only be described as the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I quote verbatim “It is not my job to calculate how much each of you owe. I have other customers to serve.” I believe this person to be the manageress, but when we asked, we were told “It is none of your business.” By this point, I thought we were being filmed for some sort of fly-on-the-wall comedy sketch. Things got more comical when she gave us a calculator, pen and paper and told us to calculate how much each of us owed. It's important to stress that we only wanted to split the bill between individual families and were not disputing the total of the bill. This seems a fairly reasonable request in 2024 and in a restaurant that charges a 10% gratuity fee. Alas, we were told not to visit again. No one in our party was confrontational and this was a disappointing end to what should have been the perfect meal. The younger waitresses and waiters were attentive and deserved the 10% gratuity. Unfortunately, the manageress might consider working at a Karen’s diner.

We came today to celebrate my son’s birthday. The food was exceptional , however I can honestly say I have never experienced such rudeness from who I believe was the Manageress. All we asked was for help breaking the bill down between the family , and we was told it isn’t her job to do that. We had to pay £15.99 for a child’s meal. When we queried the cost, we were told not to come back. We are all in shock!

We had the most fantastic Christmas Lunch at the Livesey Arms! We were a party of 12 with children and were seated in the main restaurant area. As we were the last sitting, there was a short wait for our table, so we all had a drink in the main bar, which was bustling and full of atmosphere. The lunch itself was outstanding. The majority of us had the Turkey and it was cooked to perfection and delicious 😋 We all went away stuffed including a 6’3 Professional Rugby Player in our party….and he takes some filling! Thank you so much for looking after us and for giving me a ‘year off’ the cooking and washing up.

At £85 a head we expected better. Starter was a solid soufflé, the Turkey resembled a pre-packed sandwich slice from a supermarket. Cranberry sauce smeared round the plate, fine if you like it, I don’t and my husband would like to have put it on his plate himself. Only just enough vegetables to go round. My husband had crème brûlée, which was nothing to right home about. Coffee wasn’t included in the price and you didn’t even receive a mint after paying the bill, very poor and felt ripped off.

Went for a Sunday Lunch with a couple of friends. Food and service was very good. Roasts were presented on big plates and not overloaded so was the right amount and veg and potatoes were excellent. My only couple of things which were slightly annoying was that a lot of the soft seats on the tables in the bar area didn’t have backs to them and were therefore extremely uncomfortable and for certain age groups really aren’t suitable at all for a nice dining experience. Also small car park which is always full by 12 or just after so have to park down the road

Always a busy restaurant, we have been coming to the Livesey over a few years now and it goes from strength to strength. We called with friends on a Thursday evening, the bar was busy with good humoured banter and the restaurant was warm and friendly. Served by Jo, I had the chilli prawns starter followed by sirloin steak, others had the venison which I was informed was to ‘die for’ and I was assured the filet steak was delicious. We are blessed in having such a great pub in the area, without doubt, it is one of the best.

So, it is some time since we last visited the Livesey Arms and we were delighted to return to find it on such good form. Our table had been booked for 6.30pm and we had wondered if we might be dining alone,,, But no, the car park was almost full as was the venue and, for good reason, the food was excellent (as my Timothy Taylor's Landlord), Such a tasty main (venison) with a delightful sauce and a taste Tatin that struck the right balance of sweetness and freshness. The only slight note of disappointment was that it was only just warm enough in the dining rooms. However, based on our experience on Saturday 21st we will certainly visit again and will encourage others to visit too

Went for Sunday lunch as we are trying all of the local eateries to see which one serves great food, and where possible the service is good. Greeted and shown to our table but were asked what we wanted to drink before we had even the opportunity to sit down !! The food options appeared to be comprehensive and the price point is towards the top end of what is being charged locally. Being totally honest l did not realise there was a non negotiable 10% service charge until we had ordered. I would not have ordered if l had known as it’s virtually unheard of in Lincolnshire. The service we received did not reflect this charge !! The starters were competent however the main course roast was decidedly average. Some vegetables were very undercooked. My main beef was sliced so thinly l am not sure how the kitchen managed it ! Staff were slightly intrusive trying to get additional drink sales, and glasses and plates were whipped away as soon as possible. In short we felt rushed and not relaxed. Was any one niggle enough to complain about, not really. Put them all together and the answer is we won’t be rushing back.

Really beautiful environment to eat drink and relax. Lovely friendly staff. Great food ... I don’t eat meat, can’t eat gluten or lactose and they very kindly accommodated my dietary needs with style. Lovely place an I would recommend you try... well worth the journey.

Went for a business meal with clients one evening and was impressed by the relaxed but smart feel about the place. Turned up and was met by one client who set up a drinks tab. No problem it seemed. Others turned up and ordered drinks...

Well thought out menus, with something to suit all tastes. Very reasonably priced. Friendly and efficient service, relaxing atmosphere. In my opinion the restaurant is more suited to adults which is great, so lovely to enjoy a superb meal with just mature conversation

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.

Nice and cheerful and excepts dogs. Food is OK and reasonably priced. Great family environment. Great and pleasant staff. Can get crowded at busy times but still a great time. Nice and clean, close to the beach to walk the meal off :). Recommended :)

Lovely fish and chips hot and fresh cooked to order . Few seats outside or you can sit inside at extra cost . Only reason I've not given 5 stars is cause they charge for a carton to take away what you can't eat which I thought was a bit mean as we'd spent over £30
