Lacking in customer service and friendliness- and that was before the poor quality food. Visited today - the only food on offer were toasted sandwiches. At £6-95 each I thought there would at least be some kind of salad garnish but no - it was a toasted ham cheese and onion sandwich- unadorned by any garnish . The ham was the cheapest wafer thin variety ( 1 slice only) but the onion was plentiful and in huge uncooked chunks In order for onion to be an ingredient in a toasted sandwich it has to sliced so thinly that it will be cooked . This was indigestible . The bar person told me abruptly that I couldn’t put the drinks and food on a tab , thus necessitating getting up and paying separately for each item . We were only there because the Adam and Eve was closed for redecorating and the cafe staff next door informed me that they closed at ‘1-25’ !!!!! What ?!?! What an unwelcoming place Wragby is for food and drink Their hospitality staff need training in what hospitality actually means and lessons in making an edible toasted sandwich.

Stayed at The Ivy after going to the races at Market Rasen. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful, sharing local knowledge and recommendations. Check-in was easy. Parking is across the road in a free car park. Rooms were neat clean and comfortable. Food isn't served at the pub however they do toasties if your after a quick snack. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to bring in takeaway from the local Chinese when we couldn't get a table at the only local restaurant (Adam & Eve). Good selection of drinks and great service, drank there all night. Would definitely recommend it, though if you intend to go to the races, be sure to prebook taxis.

Arrived late on a Saturday night for one nights stay to break up a journey to see family. Can’t praise the lad behind the bar enough and wish I had caught his name. We’ll stocked traditional bar that’s had a gorgeous make over (updated pics needed it’s so good) extremely clean and spacious room upstairs. It’s a very old pub so low beams and creaking floors but I loved this. Tea and coffee provided, big bath, king bed which was very comfy and the quietest fan ever! Yes there’s noise till 12 but it’s a pub not a hotel and we expected but had the best sleep in the deluxe double room. Thank you The Ivy, we will be back. X

My husband and myself visited The Ivy for lunch in February. I phoned a few weeks in advance to make a reservation and requested the table infront of the window in the dining room and the member of staff confirmed this. Upon arrival we were not welcomed and were shown to the dining room but the table we requested was not reserved and almost offered to other diners. So things did not get off to a good start. Our food and drinks order was taken but: 1 - The Coke was served flat and we had to request replacements. 2 - The glass of water I'd ordered was forgotten and I had to ask for it again. We both ordered the Ivy Burger which was very nice. But after we finished eating the waitress did not clear our plates away for ages and we had to make a point of requesting the bill. We have visited the Ivy during each of our annual holidays to Lincolnshire for the past few years (see my previous reviews), however, this felt like a different experience. We both did not enjoy our visit, we felt the service was no where near as good, the staff not as friendly or efficient as we have experienced before and left feeling disappointed. As a result we both said we will not visit The Ivy during our 2021 holiday which is a shame but this visit certainly made an impact.

We stopped here for lunch here last Friday on our way home to Sheffield. My husband and I ordered a fish finger butty and I assumed we would be getting cheap ones from a certain frozen food company. When our sandwiches arrived, our "fish fingers' were actually big pieces of fish and were beautiful. Our daughter had a chicken baguette and grand daughter had chicken chips and peas. The food took about half an hour to arrive but was well worth the wait. Staff were brilliant too. Hubby and I have been going to Horncastle for nearly 30 years and didn't realise this little gem in Wragby existed. Amazing.

Being gluten & dairy intolerant its difficult finding eating places that can offer much choice & virtually no choice when it comes to desserts, what a pleasant surprise to see such a varied main menu most of which is gluten free even the scampi and battered fish, my husband who isn't gluten free had the scampi and he couldn't tell the difference to ordinary scampi, I had the belly pork and apple sauce off the specials board both were top notch very tasty. We don't usually have a dessert as usually my only choice is sorbet but they not only had a gluten free chocolate fudge cake but also vegan ice-cream to go with it, how could I resist as it was such a treat for a change & hubby had the brownie & ordinary ice-cream both were lovely, will certainly be returning soon.

Chosen as it’s fairly local and couldn’t face the 20 minute slog to my normal watering hole. Deceptively quiet when we arrived - the four screens In the bar (seemingly showing different games of football) were unobtrusive in the restaurant, their audience definitely male making our female partners feel quite uneasy as they squeezed through to the cloakrooms and to finally leave. Service was polite but not overly attentive. Food was as expected and average although the veggie option was apparently very good. A pleasant change but we won’t rush back. In fact this week I returned to a favourite just a few miles away.

As we are moving to Wragby, we decided to have lunch at The Ivy. I had the Grimsby Haddock and Chips and my wife had the Scampi. I have had some good fish and chips but never as good as this. The crispiest batter and delicious fish server with superb hand cut chips. The only disappointment, I couldn't finish it all, the fish was massive more suited to a large evening meal for me. My wife said that she had never had such nice scampi, but again it was too much. The staff were excellent. Ilook forward to The Ivy becoming my local pub.

We have over the years enjoyed many visits to The Ivy for drinks and a meal and have never been disappointed, always served by a delightful team of friendly efficient staff in a clean and warm establishment. Something seems to have gone awry, as to why we can only guess but when a busy thriving family pub like The Ivy loses several of its wonderful long term staff within months, something has indeed gone wrong. On two recent visits we have had the misfortune to be there at the same time as a small group of drinkers (drinking a lot)who are loud, course, persistent users of disgusting language, with one particular female being exceptionally vile. I’ll not pass on here what we had to listen to from her but it was not pleasant. We put up with it the last time we encountered this group but on our most recent visit, it became unbearable. In the past we have always been greeted with a smile and asked if we are dining and then almost immediately had our table laid and menus handed to us with our drinks brought to the table, then our meal orders taken. The last time we were there the barman took no notice, we were not asked if we were dining and we picked up the menus ourselves. There appeared to be only one member of staff waiting on tables. We bought a drink, which was put on a tab then sat down at our usual table. We were there for about 45 minutes and no one came to serve us. A family came in with a young girl and sat on the table nearby - they moved after a while, whether to get away from the loud group of drinkers, one of whom isn’t able to speak or shout more than two words without using the F word, or to move somewhere where they stood more of a chance of actually being served. We heard the barman tell the group to stop the language etc., but they took not the slightest notice. All members of the group were in and out of the entrance door like a fiddler’s elbow in order to get their very regular doses of nicotine. The barman was as useless as a chocolate fire guard at stopping their disgusting behaviour, some of which was loudly and repeatedly aimed at the barman himself. We decided to leave after our drink and go elsewhere and just as we were doing so the said female in the group fell on the floor. On placing the menus back on the bar I said to the barman “And you served her ANOTHER drink!” As I walked out the drunk woman got up off the floor and followed me outside to hurl abuse at me. I ignored the creature and walked off, which upset her greatly. Unfortunately, my husband had to pay for the two drinks. He went to pay with his debit card and was told it is cash only under £10.00. As the bill came to £9.90 he said “Take £10 and keep the 10p!” The drunk woman then started giving abuse to my husband. He told her what he thought of her and walked out. What a disaster! On two occasions since the loss of all their lovely staff, when the same aforementioned barman has been on duty, he has allowed a customer (obviously a regular) to put his dog on the bar. How disgusting is that? We have spent many hundreds of pounds, either as a couple or family group, in The Ivy the £10 they got from us is the last and I will tell everyone I know to avoid the place like the plague.

We walked in with about 20 minutes before the restaurant closed at 3pm and were welcomed with a smile and shown the main meal menu . We were very pleased about that but wouldn't have been surprised if there had been sandwiches or cold food on offer at that time which would have been ok too. My husband had minced beef pie with peas and chips and it was delicious, hot, tasty and full of meat, the chips were the crispiest I had ever seen and were so good I had to steal one, the peas were tasty too. I had chicken curry with rice, mango chutney and poppadom. I have to admit I couldn't taste any curry at all unfortunately but didn't say anything as the sauce was good, good colour and creamy and we were so grateful that they served us at that time .The chicken was so tender and delicious, rice cooked perfectly and mango chutney was out of this world, I enjoyed scooping it up with the poppadom at the end. Good size portions and We would certainly go there again.

I just stumbled upon this pub when driving through and looking for some lunch. I went in with my partner and my mum and we were greeted straight away by a friendly member of staff who found us a seat straight away. Looking at the menu it was quickly apparent that my gluten intolerance was not going to be a problem. Every item had a note next to it stating that it was either GF or DF, this made ordering very simple for me, which was a relief as its usually a nightmare. The service was excellent, portions generous and good value. I had the Tuna salad and my mum and partner both had haddock and chips. We were all impressed with the quality of the food and even the dessert menu had lots of options for GF and DF, I had a hot chocolate fudge cake, which was absolutely divine, chocolate cake is normally off limits for me, and it can be dry but this was beautiful. Thank you so much for having great options, if only every pub and restaurant was this accommodating towards food allergies. Even though I am not local, I will definitely be back at the next opportunity!!

Grest atmosphere, great food, great staff - what's not to love? Even the loos are great - well decorated, great facilities always clean, taps you don't have to touch, and a brilliant hand dryer...some people may scoff at paying so much attention to the toilets - but I think you can tell an awful lot about an establishment by the condition of the loos - if staff can't be bothered to ensure that that end of their establishment is clean and well appointed who's to say they put any more effort into the kitchen? But with the Ivy you can see the attention to detail everywhere. It is a wonderful, cosy country inn with a warm welcome for locals and visitors alike - whether you want to watch the sports channels on one of several large screens whilst propping up the bar supping a pint, or relax in one of the comfy wing-back chairs with a cup of coffee - but I would strongly recommend you take the time to dine - you wont be disappointed (though you may end up feeling a bit full - they deliver both quality And quantity!) If there were more than 5 stars to give I would happily give them more!

Called in after weekend away at the coast. Very busy inside but we found a table in restaurant area round back of the bar. Both had Steak pie. All I can say is amazing food and look forward to calling again

Very nice meal at reasonable prices. A good choice from both the regular menu and a specials menu. Friendly, efficient staff and nice surroundings.

We visited The Ivy for gluten free fish and chips. Our reserved seating for my wife, our dog and myself was directly adjacent to a very loud television, which no one was watching. An early drinks crowd soon left, so the bar was virtually empty.

In our week away in Lincolnshire. By far the best pub food - and we have tried several highly rated and recommended ones - really tasty vegetarian curry and lovely pork steak. Friendly locals offered us their table as we had our greyhounds with us - the kindest gesture of our stay in this part of the country.
