The best restaurants in East Midlands

We enjoyed the lunch menu and impressed with the experience. Apologies for leaving in a hurry, but we want to extend our sincere thanks to the waiter who was friendly, attentive and welcoming. Every dish from starter to dessert was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We’ll definitely come back! Thanks very much!

Booked for a Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day, I’d never heard of the place before and really wasn’t sure what to expect. I called up a few day before and they managed to squeeze us in. The food was so tasty, the beef and chicken were delicious and the cauliflower cheese amazing. We all had desserts too, I highly recommend the Bailey’s bread and butter pudding. We will definitely come back again, the staff were really friendly, especially towards to old Dad who kept telling them his rubbish jokes. Proper home cooked in a warm and welcoming place.

Ordered takeout. Enjoyed the chicken curry and nan and was happy to find suitable and decent halal option. Was not keen on the daal and the dips for the poppadoms were missing which was slightly annoying.

Drinks pretty average and overly sweet. Food okay. Nice looking place though.

My wife and I have just unfortunately purchased meals from this establishment only to discover once home the chips were warmed up, dry, tasteless offerings, to be quite honest will not be visiting again after being charged full price for something that should've been introduced to the bin at dinner time! Would not recommend 😕

Lovely staff and brilliant quality food.

You might think from this review I'm the owners dad, but when a restaurant goes the extra 50 miles, they are worth gushing over. The food delicious 😋 The staff, genuinly delightful! The atmosphere - exemplary! The chef is a brilliant example of a human being. Eat here, you will not regret it at all.

Popped in on my way back from the Staff of Life. Really helpful staff to sever the food. When I got the food then food was piping hot and it was very tasty food. I will return here for food when I next pass. I think this is the best and I am normally right handed

My roast dinner was absolutely delicious. My daughter had sausage and chips from the child's menu, which was eagerly wolfed down. Both were perfect for a lazy Sunday when I couldn't be bothered to cook.

A genuine Italian restaurant, the two hosts were very genial, and the food was excellent

Not a great service, ordered food for 24 people and eventually the last 4 people got their food 2 hours later.

Food was very late, and very dry. Been ordered for few years now never use to have any problems, however the past handful of times the food has been very late and dry due to being left in the hot holding for far too long. Not nice at all

The Plough is a cozy, welcoming pub with a fantastic selection of drinks and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Perfect for gatherings or a quiet pint, it offers a true local feel with attentive service and a great variety of ales and spirits.

Best chippy by far in Gainsborough

Looking for somewhere different for breakfast, and we were not disappointed. A little gem of a place, even though it’s the most expensive breakfast we’ve had. We go out every Saturday and have usually paid around £10, coffee was good. Food came very quickly, and staff were very efficient and very friendly. Will try coffee and cake on our next visit.
