Lovely Hadock and chips cooked to order, not the cheapest chippy around though

Great place for value for money fish and chips. They have a special of fish. Chips a side and roll for £7. Generous portions and a large cod is £7.40. Far cheaper than where I live.

First ever visit after many years living in and visiting the area. Lovely fish and chips (the haddock was the best I’ve had for a long time), friendly staff, very clean and tidy shop. Will definitely be back.

The prices your charging through Uber eats are ridiculous and scandalous. £6 quid for a large chips £3.50 for a large sausage 😂 Pure greed.

I purchased fish and chips on Thursday 16th may I walked into the shop to smell the most horrendous fat smell that should have been enough …. I spent 22.00 and when I got home I couldn’t eat them the smell of the fat was disgusting…. I don't know how often they change their fat but this seriously needs looking at … I have been a regular customer now for years and I’m sorry to say I won’t be going back I certainly can’t afford to waste that amount of money …. I had to throw my clothes straight in the wash the smell was that bad 😡

It's my opinion, formed over buying my dinner from here over many years, that this is the best Fish and Chip shop in Lincolnshire

Absolutely the worst fish and chips I’ve had for a long time Friday night 7:30 ordered on line collected it food already bagged up 10 minutes before due so guess what ! They clearly don’t give a sh&t large cod was wafer thin nearly £8! Planning to eat in car so nice and hot ! Asked for forks already in the bag they said NO they were not asked for salt and vinegar on the items NO salt and vinegar. So had to taken em home guess what stone cold quality was dreadful won’t be going back paid £23 for the privilege of being ripped off

A tiny unassuming chip shop on the corner of a street, with undoubtedly the best fish and chips in Gainsborough and a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Cod is flavourful and falls apart in your mouth, chips are great, and the staff are all incredibly friendly. 5/5 on all fronts.

Food is good, however the portion sizes are awful. £9 for chips and cheese and one sausage, tiny portions.

Usually lovely, but today the fish was overcooked. Hopefully just a blip.

Very disappointed, in July we ate from here and it was absolutely amazing, with happy looking staff and great batter Now complete opposite last night, no Haddock so was told it was only cod, which then order 2 small cod, won't be doing that again, didn't really taste like cod, hardly any batter on, fish just fell to pieces when trying to get out packaging and the batter that was there was full of over cooked bits of batter usually due to dirty fryer and oil, spam fritter with very minimal batter, think they need to look at the fryer, screaming and swearing at staff in front of customers, then thinks it will be fine to be polite to customers when they leave even though they have all heard him and his preferred way of communication, he wasn't frying all previous visits, girls clearly now don't want to be there now from the look on there sad faces I know food prices have gone up as I run a food business myself but on the 28th July we paid £24.60, last night (22nd September) we paid £37.40 for exactly the same order but yet there website prices say I should of paid £31.50 Tony needs to sort out his fryer before he has a customer/staff exodus

Food awful, tiny portions for a ridiculously expensive cost, bread roll was hilariously tiny could fit maybe 4 chips in it, avoid at all costs, cheaper and nicer just down the road.

Absolutely shockingly poor quality and portion size, very very greasy,£4.60 for a cupped hand of chips, fish swimming in grease and paper thin, sorry but no way worth £17+

Worst thing I have ever tasted but the burger was good

Best fish and chips in town for me, fish is pure white and flaky and the batter just melts in your mouth, I only get a small chips but there’s still enough. Food is always delivered quickly and is piping hot and fresh. Won’t get my chippy teas from anywhere else. Absolutely delicious, well done middies!!!

I can't say it's something wow ... I ate fish from several places in Gainsbhoro grimzby and I can say that this place would be the last one I would choose ... on the church street there is a good fishery, trinty fish, better than as they are, plus they are not very human with everyone .. 'other nationalities'

Being ex forces I have been all over the country. I've had a chippy from all over, south coast, Midlands to the Yorkshire coast and all in between. Including Wales. I'm a black country lad at heart (orange batterd chips) so Middies for me is the 2nd best I've ever had. I've recently learned they are beef dripping fried (only confirming what my taste buds told me). The fish is soft flakey and battered beautifully. No water inside so not been frozen. Portions are pretty big, enough to fill me! To top it off it's very low in price too!! Best to order ahead as its very busy.

Ordered on uber eats and took 50mins delivery to receive fish without any chips which was charged £8 for it £5 chips and cheese , £4 kids meal. Plus delivery charge ,disgusting prices especially when the fish wasn't sent with chips and the drink received was wrong . £22 is double the price paid at other chippies and not sending the entire order for that is unacceptable and when asked for refund on the fish was only refunded £2 for the missing chips. Never ordering here again

Raw chips , slow service , really disappointing

1 star as no stars doesn't seem to be an option. Ordered through UberEats, order cancelled after 2 minutes as the shop was "too busy". So why was I able to even order, surely that's not my problem. Shop tried to blame the app, charged me for food I never received, still to get a refund. All communication then deleted from Facebook overnight. Charming chip shop. AVOID.

Great chippy and the new booking app means there no queuing either. Just book the time you want to collect and be there to collect when you're number comes up.

Tried Middies for the first time in years last week, when my usual chippy was rammed. Their food was piping hot with crisp batter and very tasty chips. They also weren't too greasy like some I have found. I think you may have a convert - I will be using you again next time the family want fish and chips. Highly recommended by me.

My chicken nuggets taste like fish and they were pink ,they look over cooked but they were under cooked And they messed up the order because my sister is lactose intolerant and she order an un batter sausages and she got a batter sausages. I was very un happy with the service.

Excellent food, and the price is just as great. £5 for a fish supper comprising a choice of cod or haddock, chips, a side (curry sauce/peas etc) a drink, and a buttered bread roll. Great portion size too. If you haven't been there yet, then please go

Love this chip shop. One of the best around. Only opens a few hours on certain days (not open on Monday or Tues at all for example) but it's worth it. They cook the food when u get in so there will be a bit of a wait but it's worth it. As well as fish they do burgers and kebabs as well.

Absolutely superb, right up there with the top West & North Yorks chippies. Best chips I've had in years browned on the outside soft inside, superb large haddock both the fish & batter, and mushy peas were very good too. Will return next year if DARLO are playing Gainsborough Trinity
