Great pub, really lovely food hubby had cajun chicken sizzler, I had hunters chicken big portions and real chips.

Had a lovely lunch here chicken parma. Was delicious

Visit this little gem almost weekly as our son trains in the area. Always a warm welcome, child & dog friendly. Great selection of Alcohol free options too.

My husband and I had the standard carvery today and we really enjoyed it. We both had the roast beef which was cooked to perfection. There was a really good choice of vegetables too, cooked just right. All the staff were really nice. They we're friendly snd professional. We will definitely go again.

My two friends and I came here for an evening meal as we are camping close by and the food was absolutely delicious! The prices for both food and drinks is super affordable considering the quality. The staff were friendly and another bonus is they are dog friendly inside and out- would recommend a visit if you’re close by!

We came across this pub on a bike ride and didn't know what to expect as it's out in the sticks and it was a Thursday lunch time. A nice outside seating area with lots of cover.. inside it's large with plenty of seating, mostly dog friendly. Bar staff were really friendly and the food was super AND reasonably priced with proper home cooked chips.. Definitely a pub to visit again..

This is a lovely village pub serving basic meals which are thoroughly enjoyable.

On holiday in the area and had three meals here. Two evening meals and Sunday lunch. Staff friendly and attentive as always. Food excellent, as usual. What ever meal you order it is always so tasty and the quality is exceptional. Had the small Sunday lunch and still struggled to finish it. Home made yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, tender meat and a lovely selection of vegetables. Look forward to when back in the area to eat here again. Highly recommend the chicken sizzler special. Only had it twice!!!

Absolutely obsessed ! You’ll never not catch me in here - dog friendly, so my pup loves it too! The food is incredible, bar staff are fab, and love the atmosphere. Absolutely recommend the cajun battered chicken - TO DIE FOR !!!

What a fantastic pub. Our friend lives inthe villagr so we visited him and sat in the garden for a meal. We were made to feel so welcome by the landlady and the menu was great. I had Katsu Chicken Sizzler wich was something special. You could smell it cooking (It made the people sitting opposite feel hungry) and when it arrived sizzling on my plate, the chicken was so tender and the chips were out of this world. 100% recommend. Thank you staff for a great evening.

Enjoyed our visit . Food was generous and tasty and the girl behind the bar was very welcoming and helpful. Will return at a later date as we are on the river and will be back this way soon.

Was there bank Holiday Monday we both had mushroom and onion and Stilton with cheesey chips It was lovely be warned you do get lots of chips value for money.

We sat on the quieter side of the bar. Nice village pub with links to Laurel and Hardy. The bunket seating, although not worn, could really do with a refill as not very comfy to sit on. Very little padding. Staff were nice and friendly and drinks were reasonably priced. The bar area could do with a tidy up, if being really picky. The counter behind the till looked like a dumping ground and the bottles could do with a good dusting. Were the staff friendly, yes. Could you hear yourself speak, yes, Was there an atmosphere, yes, it was nice and relaxing. Would I visit again, yes. Didn't have food on this visit.

Had lovely meal for six of us at lunchtime on a Friday, food was delicious and all left empty plates. Real home cooked food, even the salad looked freshly prepared, waitress was lovely, would definitely return. Having visited two places recently when we had to wait an hour from ordering to being served this was definitely not an issue, served promptly although it was not particularly busy. Plenty of choice on the menu, can definitely recommend visiting, well done to all involved and thank you.

This lovely pub in the Lincolnshire village of Bardney has a traditional look and feel to it, outside and inside. Although no beers were had ( i was there for the veteran's brekky), there was a good selection of ales and lagers.

Really nice food. Great service. However if you take your dog then you're outside

Lovely local with a great menu!

Only stopped briefly on a long car journey. Nicely decorated. Shame all the windows were broken. Not sure what happened there (likely not any fault of theirs). Only saw one staff member and she was great. The placement of the baby changing facilities was weird and very dark. Had to use the light on my phone to see and hope no one walked into the toilets and hit me with the door. It was empty on a sunny Saturday which struck us as odd as we couldn't see why as it seemed like a nice place. They had art with price tags on the walls, I assume local artists maybe. I don't know much about art but i liked them so good art imo. Plus I like that they support the artists that way. Yeah would go again.

Nicely cooked burger and chicken, chips good too. Service slightly slow but served with a smile. Some reviews said the beers were excellent but I wonder if they were thinking of another pub as there weren't many real ales at all. I counted 2.

Have driven past many times and thought about trying the food….we finally stopped by and found it a pleasant surprise. Food well presented and clearly fresh cooked…chips are ace, definitely not out of a freezer bag. Great selection of well kept beers and other drinks. Staff very friendly and helpful…reasonable pricing too…other pubs in the area could learn a lesson in how to provide a good service. Will be back

This is a great pub to visit with seating in and out. All the staff are friendly and good food with decent prices together with kids menu. Good selection of beers and ample parking. Weekends can be busy especially Sunday Carvery but worth sampling and perhaps booking.. Band night is worth keeping an eye out for, so I'm told😜 The only down side guys, is that if you want a quick 'in and out lunch' be it with four or five us, with a pint IMHO you'll finish the pint before it arrives. However, well worth the stop 😁

Perfect for visiting all year. Cosy fire in the winter 🥶 and great outdoor seating in the summer 😎 great selection of drinks and food is always cooked to perfection and plenty of choice. Monthly music events and if you like pool or darts then it’s available here. Regular visitor and can see why. Well done to the whole team 🍻

Great food. Pizza cooked to perfection. Staff very helpful and polite. Nice beer garden and good location. Dessert beautiful. A very pleasant experience.

Good food but the specials are best value for money with biggest portion sizes. Other menu items are good and tasty but more modestly sized.

Had another great lunch when out walking at the Old Angel. The food is always fresh and well-cooked and much better value than pub lunches in Lincoln. The pub itself is clean despite its size and the staff are so helpful.

Great pub, good music venue and really week run Jam night

Some while since we ate at the Old Angel - but had a terrific fish supper there and will certainly be back. A warm welcome, good service and I had a large "piece of cod which passeth all understanding". Even the waiter who brought it was surprised and said something like "It looks like a whale!"

We came here for a work meal and it was disappointing. The pub was freezing so most of us kept our coats on. We asked if they could put some Christmas music on as the atmosphere was as cold as the temperature, they said no unless we wanted to pay for the jukebox! The food was ok but desserts were average. Overall, I wouldn’t go back.

Was ok..... isnt worth 10 pound for a beef burger though.... 4.10 for a pint is adequate in todays ranging.... but to place a seating area outside an tell smokers they cant smoke while consuming isnt what i call a good pub.... smokers are outside it shouldnt be conditioned! (Edit; an the reply 👀🤣 wow.... chips were done like they were re cooked.... an still stands.... 10.00 pounds for a burger with a small bit of potato).... instead of keeping you profits high you could stay humble and embrace it for your consumer 👍 wont be back probably wont last that long soon 🥱...

Excellent venue which we used for a wake. Very good buffet provided and very good value.

5 of us from a walking group booked a table for after the walk. We were able to pre book our meals at 0945 for our return after 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Food was excellent as was the service. We have always been well looked after every time we use The Old Angel as a start point.

Fabulous meal. Sat outside. Great service . Friendly staff owner served food and she is making a great job of the business. Superb food. Was the top of the bill at £20.50 each but the steaks were superb. Good covered area for owners with dogs - the dogs cannot go into the pub itself which is tricky if you are on your own. Immaculate toilets. This was a spontaneous celebration for a personal major achievement. Great beer too.

Great pub, has really improved under the new Landlady. Food is excellent and good value. Can see why the Lincoln Food Monster (food critic) rated amongst the top 7 pub grub establishments in Lincoln area. Credit to the chef manager at only 22 has a great future ahead of him. Oh and the beer is good to!!! 16 April: Still a great place to eat.

Awful service! Not once was we asked if everything was okay do we need anything? Plenty of staff on to accommodate everyone, food very average not worth the price!

Always a nice friendly atmosphere. Only 2 downsides are the main access door has a small step which makes it difficult for wheelchair users and the female toilet main entry doors are very tight for getting a wheelchair in and out off. If these 2 things were more suitable for wheelchair users then I would happily visit more often.

Good for beer, lagers, food, spirits and great company and conversation. Always have the best bands too!

This is a great place. Open 7 days. Food good but menu limited. I had dirty burger with a special sauce, very tasty. Handy place to eat if you are walking the Viking Way or cycling the Water Rail Way. Staff very helpful when needing to thaw out after a cold April cycle ride.

I visited on a Friday evening and there seemed to be a lot of mum's and dad's there with children, parents slow getting hammered (one of which tried picking a fight with one of our group) and children running around generally very excited and incharge of taking their "tipsy" parents home... Staff were friendly and the food was good, as for the general atmosphere, would be a different experience on a week night, probably...?? Won't be returning to funded out

Everything was fantastic and will return

My husband and myself have stayed in Lincolnshire many times and have driven past this pub loads but never dined there. As we were staying just up the road we decided to try it - and it didn't disappoint. We were warmly greeted on arrival, told the specials and advised we could choose our table. There was lots to choose from on the menu, our order was taken quickly and we did not have to wait long for our food. We enjoyed our meals so much we came back again for lunch another day. Our first visit meals were: - Lasagne with chips and salad - Dirty Pulled Pork Burger and chips - 2 x sticky toffee pudding with custard Second visit meals: - Scampi and chips with salad - Pulled pork panini - Cheesy chips - Sticky toffee pudding with custard - Brownie and custard The food was really nice, my husband really liked the pulled pork and we both thought the chips were superb. If we lived closer this would a great local pub / restaurant. The interior of the pub and beer garden are nicely decorated too. I highly recommend a visit and a meal here :-)

It was OK for a bear and burger after a 12hr shift . The burger was a little dry but it was a homemade patte. Chips are nice and homemade . Beer was cold

Such a friendly and accommodating atmosphere here. Sometimes you get the "if you're not local you're not welcome" vibe in places like this but not here! It's well priced and such delicious food! The battered onion rings are some of the best I've ever tried! Crisp, light and not greasy at all! Would definitely return here and happily try more that the menu has to offer!

What can I say. The food was as tasty and fresh as usual. Excellent portion size, one day I will finish my meal! Ate here twice during our holiday in the area, once in the week and the other on Sunday. Both times super friendly welcome, and good service and food. The chicken sizzler and chicken with bacon and leek sauce options were so good. Have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend.

Came to visit while on holiday, went once and had to go back, the food was amazing, and the staff are brilliant and a must visit if you will be in the area - I recommend the battered cajun chicken.

Visited here recently as was staying in the area, called ahead to book a table as it was the weekend but unsure if bookings needed. Had great food and was freshly cooked so there was a wait but its worth it. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend trying this place. And if I was ever close by again I'd return.
