Excellent food. All homemade nothing disappoints working my way through the menu .. liver and bacon is my favourite. The gammon is divine and mixed grill is awesome make sure your hungry.. exceptional value for money ... Lovely friendly staff. My favourite place to eat by far five star ⭐.

Delicious cooked breakfast after a comfortable night in a spacious, spotless, well appointed smart room. Very happy with our stay. So nice to get an all inclusive price and good value at that.

Absolutely phenomenal quality!! We aren’t local, but visited during our stay in the area. This pubs atmosphere is unmatched. The food quality was exceptional, the staff were all so kind. It was great to see that when an old lady was complaining about her seating arrangements as she “visits all the time”, the manageress stood her ground and sided with her bar maid rather than just meeting this ridiculous ladies demands. Showed true leadership skills and it was great to see her supporting her staff as unfortunately this isn’t common practice anymore. We called in to see if they where cooking they said yes and we had I had 3 course my friends and wife all had 2 course & they where lovely. AA++++

It's ok. It's a pub I just had a drink and left.

Stayed for B&B for Saturday night. Great value, large room, with modern kitchenette and table to eat at. Bed was large and comfortable and bathroom had large walk in shower. Couple of minor improvements could be made, it would be good to have a full length mirror and the blind could be darker to block out more light but other than that couldn't fault it. We were there for a party somewhere else, so didn't try the food other than the cooked breakfast which was really good quality. Pub was busy when we went out but as we came back after 12 there was no issue for us from noise from the pub.

S recent visit for a meeting meant I could enjoy the tiramisu again and it never fails to bring joy. Others had the scampi which looked good and the chips shared around were tasty. Would always recommend to visitors to town.

Came in for glass of wine. Asked waitress with lots of tattoos on hands which wine is dry which is sweet. She showed me a bottle and said i don’t know. Had to try the one she showed me, and it’s not i was expecting. So had to buy another glass. No communication at all. Looks i came in wrong day as she’s not in the mood.

We have been going for food for years. We travel to enjoy the delicious, beautifully presented tasty food all at a very reasonable price. We even order a Sunday Lunch if not able to sit in and colllect and bring home, yummy! Have had all meal on offer except the vegetarian options. Cannot sing the chef’s praises enough. Long may we continue to enjoy this beautiful pub.

This place is a hidden gem. Clean rooms, hot showers and comfortable beds. The food was amazing and the drinks cold. All the staff were lovely and there were plenty of locals up for a chat. Absolutely worth the detour.

The kind staff fitted us in last minute for a lovely home cooked Sunday lunch for 2 adults, (with our dog), lovely food and atmosphere & appreciated Tv wasn't turned up loud.

Just had a meal here and both of them were fantastic, hot, hearty, delicious. Lasagna with garlic bread and salad, Steak and ale pie with veg and mash.

Definitely recommend for food had a mix grill very nice 😋😁

This the best BnB room facilities I have experienced, spacious room with kitchenette and microwave and an excellent shower which makes a huge difference. The pub had an awesome atmosphere and stunning food, the breakfast was freshly cooked served with premium coffee. Highly recommended, other hosts should take note, this place is exceptional in all areas of hospitality.

Even on a Monday night, it was fairly busy. I like this pub!

Went for a combined birthday meal. We were five minutes late because we couldn't get parked in the pub's small car park. When the lady came to take our order we asked for five more minutes and she rudely informed us that she had other people waiting after we'd finished. This was only ten minutes after the time we had booked the table and when i pointed this out to her she sighed and said that the place was fully booked and people were coming to the table after us. I've never ever been told to hurry up choosing especially so when we were late because the car park was full. The lady then went away and was talking about this exchange to a colleague. The food was passable but not worth the price. It was an unpleasant experience because of the atmosphere created by this staff member, we won't be back.

Lovely food, we ll cooked and very quick too. Lovely halpful landlady host. The pub is small so bookings really are needed if theres more than a couple of you.

Lovely rooms, bar staff wonderful. DO NOT stay here on Friday or Saturday night if you like a quite night. It turns into a karaoke bar. the management are disinterested in b&b guests and cater to bar takings only. We spent 1000s staying here for work and were rebuffed by the landlady when politely suggesting the duke box be turned off at a reasonable hour. Sunday to Thursday perfect establishment. 🙂

We called in for lunch. Very welcoming, dog friendly, hand-pulled real ale is obviously well looked after and the food was amazing. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍

We had Christmas dinner today 14 Dec 2023. All I can say it was one of the BEST Christmas dinners I have ever tasted all served by the gorgeous Anthea and her Daughter.. A great place a great atmosphere and food to die for Very good value too. A place not to be passed by or overlooked..

Went tonight for a birthday meal having never been before. A good selection of beers and some less available spirits on sale. We had the fish and chips, steak and ale pie and Ribeye steak. All arrived quickly and piping hot. Clearly all homemade and excellent quality. The portions were more than adequate and we are big eaters. There is a great wine list from the local vintners Sandham's of Caistor...so good that we went and bought a couple of bottles of the Rioja Reserva that we had drank with our meal (still open 'til 19:30 on a Saturday) the wine list is comprehensive and inexpensive, covering all options. My son and I had the Tiramisu for desert and my wife the treacle sponge and custard. Again all brought out in a reasonable time. The quality of all was really good and clearly made to order...no microwave or defrost and serve here. We did book our table and were seated immediately on arrival. I have seen a few reviews suggesting that they were not accommodated and that this was a very locals only pub. Our welcome was warm but...this is the only pub in Caistor, it will be busy and there will be locals having a drink!!! There was some language but it was not insufferable and nothing compared to our local pubs! Pubs are for adults after all. We will certainly be going back, that menu needs working through! The front of house team tonight were young, but attentive and friendly, I bought them all a drink. If you can book, do so. This place punches above it's weight on food quality! You will not go hungry!

Popped into this pub for evening meal while in the area at random. What a fantastic find. Traditional old pub with a nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. I ordered a steak pie and my wife had the carbonara. Both plates were full and excellent quality. Proper home cooked food as you’d expect. A good choice of beers and ales available too. I would definitely recommend.

Great little pub, working in Caistor for 4 weeks. Lovely beers, comfy and cosy and foods great had 2 meals so far.

Decided to give The White Hart another try, following a poor review recently. What a great surprise! They have gone back to the top of the class as before! First-class service from Anthea and great food served quickly, piping hot and tasting fabulous. Will definitely return for more of this! Well done to the management. Amazing food and smaller portions

Great little dog friendly pub! The food was great value for money and very tasty, and the service was very good. It is a 'working man's' pub so don't take your kids if you don't want them to learn some colourful language! Still highly recommended though - I would definitely go back again.

A thoroughly disappointing experience! Having waxed lyrical about The White Hart, I am really disappointed to say that again today, the food was not good. Lukewarm and barely edible, the plates had obviously been standing around for a while! Anthea behind the bar, was obviously distressed for us and could not apologise enough but this is not the first time. She does not have the authority to allow a deduction for the poor offering. When cooking was carried out by the owner, never a problem but now, definitely second-rate. Again, Anthea was welcoming but had no time, she was run off her feet! Such a shame to see a great pub going downhill so badly. Time to go elsewhere!!

Had the good luck to stay here for 3 nights with family. The owners and staff could not be nicer or more helpful. The rooms were so comfortable and clean it was fantastic. The food is amazing best breakfast ever lovely snacks and first class evening meals . The locals were very friendly and good crack . We can't wait to go back

Great pub, friendly staff, Sunday Lunch was good, nice size portion and went out of their way to cater for my wife’s allergy.

Our family was staying for a few days in a terrace house in the old part of Caistor - that's another story. Instead of my having to be the designated driver as had been the majority of our time, in this case we had the opportunity to walk to Caistor's only pub. We went on a Sunday evening, and it was packed with locals - a good sign. The pub website states that they're freehold, and their online menu promised good food. We were encouraged - if the chef is independent, potential customers such as your truly might be treated to some outstanding food. We were proven correct. I chose the Seafood Pie, and it was excellent. If I visited again, I might have the Sausage and Mash (my wife's chosen meal), since they use local Lincolnshire sausages. OTOH, we already had eaten locally-made Lincolnshire sausages from the town market earlier that day, so I'd already had my fix!

Wonderful food - Special mention for the light and crispy batter and the lovely fresh salad and coleslaw.

Possibly the best burger in Lincolnshire for the price, which is around a tenner. This is highly polished and consistent food for the price most pubs slap on their basic offerings. We pop in occasionally for a work lunch when we fancy some hot food instead of sandwiches. Never had a bad meal, bad pint, or bad service. The interior is cosy in the winter and good outside seating for the summer. Can't recommend enough, worth a trip to csistor if close by and a no brainer if you're already in the town.

Walked in to a very unwelcoming welcome, asked if we could have a table for food, accommodated us after a sigh and a roll of eyes as we hadn’t booked. Food was nice even though it took forever to arrive. Language coming from the bar was colourful to say the least….hope the guy who didn’t get taken home by the girl he was trying his luck with last night got over his disappointment (not something I really wanted to hear about while eating my food). Clearly a pub for locals and regulars who drink all day every day. Not a place for families, couples or visitors. Wouldn’t come back

Lively pub on this Saturday night. Everyone very friendly. Food was excellent. Beer kept well. Had my favourite wine too.. Chenin Blanc😋 Notes for the disabled...Mind the small step at the entrance! Toilets are up some stairs at the back of the pub. There are hand rails. No disabled toilets though..Well the pub is 200 years old, so I guess I can forgive that!😉. Will definitely go again.

Found this place when looking for a halfway point to meet friends for a bite to eat. Read the reviews and glad I booked. The place certainly lived up to the expectations. Phoned up to book, friendly staff member who managed to squeeze is in despite being already busy. Busy place on a Saturday night, must be popular with the locals. Friendly atmospy no issues with the few heavily intoxicated people enjoying themselves. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food delicious and typical pub grub. Just what we were after. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes. Would visit again.

Just stayed here for bank holiday weekend. Proper pub with proper Owners, customers, food and drink. Proper values. Could not find any fault. Looking forward to returning soon.

Nice pub, good atmosphere decent prices

Spent a couple of nights at the White Hart as the location was ideal for our trip. It’s what I’d describe as a good old fashioned locals’ pub with a friendly atmosphere, a couple of good ales and some tasty pub fayre. Our room was surprisingly large (with a huge and very comfortable bed), a kitchenette with fridge and microwave and a good size en-suite with a powerful shower. All nice and clean too. Only downside was a little noise from the back bar below but tbh this didn’t really disturb us and didn’t go on too late. In the pub it would have perhaps been nice to see a fire/log burner as personally we found it a little chilly. And just suggestion - maybe candles (even the battery operated ones) on the tables would just enhance the atmosphere a little and give it warmer, cosier feel. Food was good, well presented and tasty. As a vegetarian there was certainly enough choice on the menu for me, however my other half is vegan and the options were rather limited. (tbf we probably should have mentioned this on booking as the proprietor said they would have provided more choice.) Breakfast was good and once it was established we were ‘veggies’ they kindly got in some vegetarian sausages and soya milk! All the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Booked a table for 4 and a well behaved cockapoo when my son and his girlfriend came for the weekend. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals (as usual).2 had burgers,1 had battered chicken burger and 1 had lasagne. Brilliant.

Proper pub with exceptional home cooked food, great beer . Fabulous, friendly service and spotless toilets. The food was faultless, from the crunchy airy suet-crusted steak pie to the fluffy spotted dick. Excellent value for money and a world apart from any identikit high street pub.

We visited today as a large party of walkers. The pub catered for our group of 22 all having Sunday Lunches with ease and efficiency. The food was fantastic and the customer service was brilliant! The delightful chef even brought out some Roast Lamb for our dog! A really welcoming pub and will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for your hospitality 😀

Called in to this pub for sunday lunch. Hadnt booked sat at a table that did nt say reserved,waited in queue to order at the bar,was asked where we are sitting to be told those seats are reserved,directed us to back room(colder in temperature) then had to requeue and then told you’ll be waiting awhile as we have to serve reseved guests first.most inhospitable pub we have every been in Karen and Ian Dickinson

A traditional pub serving a range of beers and lagers including the real ales. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff are always happy to serve and answer queries. There are three main areas one of which is set out as more of dining area. The food is good quality 'Pub grubs and freshly prepared to order.

Food was excellent (2 × special haddock 'n chips, w/really super mushy peas. Plus delicious sausage and mash, w/great onion gravy). VG service, food delivered promptly, well cooked and hot. Steep incline of rear car park a little difficult for older persons, and rear entrance out of question: (first thing 8inch step to negotiate, then 4 more once inside)- better to walk round to front entrance, but if you need to use a 'walker', forget it. No room in dining room to stow one, especially if they are full, so better to leave it in car..., can't do that..., figure it out for yourself. Oh. Try not to go on a darts night as public bar opens direct into dining room and is also very noisy. But do try it..... recommended for food.

Booked a long weekend with a view to seeing the area and a visit to York. Top class pub and bedroom. All the facilities you expect plus a kitchenette as a bonus. Fantastic food, portions were huge. Staff and owners couldn't do more for you....

Visited Caistor with friends and to spend time with my sister. Booked into the White Hart. The accommodation was outstanding. Excellent value for money. Food fabulous and staff so friendly. Breakfast was included in the amazing price. Will definately return for a longer visit.

Small local pub with a good selection of drinks and excellent food, good size outdoor seating area, the bar area is quite small and can get easily crowded but always a good pint and friendly service!

Had many meals here, never had a bad one yet. Always delicious and great value. My favourite local go-to pub dining.
