Cherry Tree Inn in West Lindsey

We LOVED our stay at Cherry Tree!! We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect. Staff was very nice! Room was AMAZING & very clean. There was a snack/bar area that was open 24/7. Breakfast was top notch!!! The cook was lovely & very helpful!!! I would 100% recommend this place. We'll def be returning

We booked this place for a quick trip and it did not disappoint!! The complimentary breakfast was extensive with fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffle maker, fresh OJ, yogurt, danishes etc. The 24 hour coffee & tea station was fantastic as it was very chilly & rainy during our stay, perfect to warm up. Rose our concierge was very sweet & witty and Laura who runs the dining area was so friendly. Indoor pool was warm, hot tub was hot. Room was very clean and view was wonderful. Could not have asked for a better hotel!

Waste of money. Over priced and not cleaned. Notified staff of our room and they said they would fix it. No one addressed it or even followed up.

Poped in on the off chance as they had carvery advertised The staff were so welcoming and gave great advise about the area. The food was amazing, really homemade. One of the best pub carvery both taste and price. We will be back that's for sure.

Nice experience at this traverse city hotel. Pools are real nice here compared to other hotels with an indoor salt water pool. Hot breakfast is free every day and room service comes daily. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. A plus side is that Blue Sky boat rental is located right on property on the right side of the beach, giving easy access to rentable jet skis, pontoon boats, and kayaks. We didn’t check out the outside pool but it looks really clean.

So relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful place to stay. Has 2 pools.. indoors and outdoors. The staff was there whe. We needed them. The breakfast was great. Many items to choose from. Overall, this was an amazing experience.

Stayed the night here at the end if May. Service was great but the hotel itself needs some.TLC. The floor to the main walkway to the elevators has a very large.section of flooring that is very buckled, I am assuming from the pool area. The wallpaper and walls throughout are in need of repairs and wall paper and our room needed to be cleaned better as it smelled like dog and out tub was dirty. It was disappointing because it looked like a nice hotel.

The staff was so welcoming, friendly, informative and helpful. The rooms were clean, modern and the beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff, Ben, Sheila, Chris and a lovely young women who's name escapes me, were so wonderful. Very helpful with restaurant recommendations and even let me store my fish catch in the hotels freezer. Laura that works in the continental breakfast area, was so friendly and happy. The shuttle drivers, Bruce & Ken were great. And our driver on our last night, Susie, she was amazing, so much fun! Great work Cherry Tree Inn & Suites

Well worth a visit for Sunday lunch, excellent carvery with a large selection of fresh vegetables....... best gravy I have ever tasted. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Don't leave without trying the apple crumble and custard 😋 👌

Very nice hotel, great breakfast and the swimming pool and spa are magnificent, close to the lake. Simple but effective gym, children's playroom and free parking

Delightful accommodation with a great view of the bay. My only complaint is all the road construction going on right now around the main drag in Traverse City. But it should be all cleaned up by the time the tourist season really gets going.

Update: I saw the breakfast lady Laura again and she remembered me from a year ago! She's just so pleasant and it's a treat to start my day to her smiling face. Give that woman a raise! The breakfast is still the best around with a full spread of hot and ready options including meats, pancakes, danishes, fruits, yogurts, and more. Overall friendly customer service from staff including receptionists and maintenance men, but the quality of the rooms has gone downhill in the last few years. Broken window blinds, malfunctioning heater, and the cleanliness isn't what it used to be. Hopefully they can get housekeeping and room repairs back on track so I can give them 5 stars again. Original review April 2023: Very clean and impeccable customer service. Always a great place to stay!

Great big room. Jacuzzi tub, walk in shower, fireplace, 2 tvs, 2 back doors right out to the beach. Only complaint is housekeeping did a rush job before we arrived, floor crumbs and sand. Would definitely come back though!!

The family suite was nice and spacious. It had a full kitchen which was very nice. The pool was great and not too cold. My only complaint was that our bed had a large stain under the mattress protector. Our 4 year old slept with us and had a tiny accident that woke him up so I pulled up the protector to make sure it was cleaned before the next guest. It was great overall. I would recommend it even without my complaint. I only knew it was there because I pulled the sheets off the bed.

Stayed for 3 nights 3/11-3/14. Wonderful staff. Room was nice with Jacuzzi. Bay view with a balcony. Close to downtown TC. Will stay here again next time we visit TC.

I came to traverse city with my husband for business and We stayed in this hotel in February it happened to be really nice weather & they started painting & fixing things in the rooms. And the day we were checking out they started to push us out, so they could start working. one of the maintenance men even walked in my room when I said I'll be right there..... I didn't appreciate that at all.

We stayed her for memorial day weekend an loved it. Can't wait for our next stay this year!

We were promised an outside view room, but got a poolside view room which at check in time did not seem bad until the morning when all of the screaming children and sounds of an indoor pool woke me and my fiancé up at 9am sharp. I’m sorry but I want to sleep in on my vacation. The time of check in at night, we were warned of a “family party” that happened to be taken place in the banquet room located directly next to our room and consisted of very loud screaming adults at 10:30 pm. They told us quiet time was at 10-12 for the pool, but did complaining do anything-no. When I asked about moving rooms, before I could finish my sentence the receptionist cut me off by saying “we have zero availability” like we were the issue. My friends were staying in a suite paying similar prices and had a beautiful beachside view. On top of this our toilet was not working properly and the seat was busted before we even used it. Me and my fiancé got in at around 11pm so we noticed the issue the next day-but of course the hotel couldn’t hold accountability because of it. The breakfast lady was very nice but I will definitely choose another hotel next time I travel to travers city.

My partner and four girls loved our time here! The room was accommodating, the pool was pleasantly warm, and a huge shout out to Laura, the hospitality attendedant who made the experience all the better! Will look to coming back in the future on her accord alone

Am staying here now my 1st of 2 days. The staff seem friendly and the amenities are nice, but a crowd of drunks in the next room over or hallway sounds like a party in our room at 1am. Not a good first night experience at all.

We are currently here for our 10 year wedding anniversary! This hotel is a grand slam! The room is gorgeous, very spacious, the patio and views are amazing! I'm a little disappointed the patio has no furniture on it, yes it may be winter and cold but I booked a patio room to sit and enjoy the views. The staff recommended a great restaurant to my husband, Harrington's by the Bay! Which I also highly recommend!!!! The staff are very sweet and the manager is top notch! She went out of her way to accommodate a special room service delivery and helped add that special touch to an already amazing trip! We knew within the first hour we will be back! The beds are very comfortable, the 24 hour pool is almost unheard of at a hotel, and the 24 hour outdoor hot tub is unbelievable!!!! Not to mention, we are in a studio room, not a suite and have a two burner stove with table settings for 4 plus all the cooking utensils that's needed!

Clean and cozy, great amenities, plus a friendly and accommodating staff! Would recommend to anyone

I'd stay longer if I could, such a nice hotel. We came for a quick valentines day trip, and we were so pleased once we got to our room. Friendly staff, 24hr pool, a beautiful view of the water, especially at night, and the beds were very comfortable. Will be coming back the next time we need to take a trip here!

Our first time staying at the Cherry Tree. We had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious. We stayed in the suite. The bay view was beautiful. The staff were friendly and accomadating. The lobby was cute and cozy. My only complaint, which is very minor, wish they would change their coffee machine in the room. But all good. Will be back!

Loved everything about the Cherry Tree Inn @ Suites! Highly recommend this hotel for it’s friendly staff, location to everything, and cleanliness of our suite! Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and very accommodating! The Family Suite was like an apartment - so much room!! Loved having a pantry and full size refrigerator/freezer. We have stayed in several hotels along the Bay over the past several years and this one was the best for the money. Location was great and we enjoyed breakfast every morning (both hot and cold foods) and loved the 4 choices of coffee always available in the lobby and hot chocolate & varieties of tea! There is a nice indoor pool and hot tub as well. Parking lot was very full every day. Can’t wait until next year’s visit!!!

We highly recommend Cherry Tree Inn. The staff were all very friendly, and accommodating. The studio had a Wonderful view of the bay, and was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.

Highly recommend this inn! If the perfect bay view, location, amenities, and clean modern rooms are not enough for you, the tireless efforts of staff to be overly accommodating will bring you back here! Here’s just a small taste of my 4night stay: 5:20a I looked to see if there was coffee in the lobby. The desk attendant was behind me before I could even ask about it, apologizing for coffee that isn’t supposed to be available until 6a was still being brewed and he ran into the kitchen area to bring it out as fast as he could (less than 3 minutes later). Three separate occasions staff have opened conversation to get a feel for why we’re here, offering helpful information to enhance our outings. Also, so nice to have such attention to details and cleanliness in a pandemic. We will see you next year!

We loved our to stay at this hotel! Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and outgoing! Dan who works at managing the kitchen did a phenomenal job and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! He made us feel very at home! We highly recommend this hotel! Make sure you try Dan‘s homemade cherry topping for the waffles! It’s a homemade recipe which is delicious :-)

Was good but not as polished as was expected. Needs better upkeep on the outside and beach area. Breakfast definitely was disappointing.

I deliver for uber eats and I had a delivery for a guest here. When I came in and spoke to the older guy at the desk to ask where this room was he was VERY RUDE and spoke to me in a very CONDESCENDING way. For the kind of money people pay to stay here I would suggest having much more professional staff.

Room was very dirty, bedsheets had stains, had to change them, then saw dried up blood on the very old, uncomfortable mattress. Pools and hottest were disgusting, our whirlpool tub had old dirt in it, stay here alot but I have never seen it like this, balcony dirty filled with cobwebs, nice view but beach isn't cared for either

Our suite was spacious and we had a gorgeous view of the lake. Breakfast included Belgian waffles but they often ran out of food by 9:30 so go early. The pool area was often without towels but overall the suites were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Honestly, it is hard to find a place to start this review. I am tempted not to review because of the old saying about not having anything nice to say…but I really don't want anyone else wasting their money at this terrible location in such a wonderful city. We recently stayed at this property with our family of 4. 2 adults and 2 kids. We love T.C. and read through many reviews before selecting this location. We are shocked at how well this place is reviewed compared to our own experience. Many people talk about cleanliness at this location, but that could not be any farther from the truth. Everything seemed to feel and appear dirty and dingy and run down. Especially the common spaces. Luckily the rooms seemed to be only slightly more attended to with regard to cleanliness, but still far from great. We also were okay in paying the relatively high price that is required here, because we were hopeful that the amenities would be worth it. However, the pools were not well maintained, the hot tubs seemed dirty with a hint of yellow/brown color to the water, the poolside bathroom was very, very dirty and uncomfortable to be in, there was a mouse running around the outside pool, the beach never seemed attended to, the seating areas in the lobby were dull and uninviting, the hotel shop was underwhelming to say the least, the lobby and staircases reeked of smoke, the breakfast was not good (we left for breakfast even though it was included), the staff did not act welcoming and did not seem eager to help the customers with anything. The fridge in our room died in the middle of the night causing all of our food to spoil and have to be thrown out. They were very difficult in acknowledging this and made it difficult to get reimbursed for the lost food. We felt like prisoners in this hotel. This made it very hard to enjoy a family trip. The general staff including the GM, Arrow, seemed uninterested and rude. Nothing was good. It is sad that this place is so expensive and so well reviewed (it seems that many of these reviews are fake/planted) PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Check in is at 3pm but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. View was beautiful from the balcony but the suite needs updating and deep cleaned. I don’t feel like it’s worth the amount of money we spent unfortunately. Won’t return.

$300+/night for a motel experience really was beyond disappointing. We had the "mountain studio" room with a view of their air conditioning units. There were many small issues, including peeling paint, missing carpet strips, non-functioning safe, and terrible lighting. The AC blows directly onto the bed, leaving few options for comfortable sleep. The "full, hot breakfast" was also disappointing, consisting of biscuit and gravy, and packaged continental breakfast staples. We did not enjoy our stay, and will look elsewhere for future visits.

This place is very nice , I am really enjoying my self here. Our Suite is nice and cozy. The best part is the huge Jaccuzi tub and fireplace in the room. Oh and I mention the view. They offer breakfast every morning. The rooms are very clean and the staff is top notch. I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s not a stretch to say that the staff here makes the real difference! They are genuine and really want guests here to have a great stay. We had a very nice suite on the bay side that featured very nice modern bathroom and plenty of space to relax. Linens were fresh only the pillows were a bit flat for my comfort but there were plenty of them. Breakfast is classic hotel fare with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle grill, a variety of cereals and sides. We were there for a wedding can’t wait to come back with our family!

Their Customer service is above and beyond. The room had an amazing view and I enjoyed the 24 hr pool, it was so nice to relax in the hot tub with just my friend and I super late! The coffee station had a lot of hot tea selections which I love

Our suite was really nice. Super clean. The front desk and staff are extremely kind, helpful and friendly. There were a few minor issues that we noticed in the room but they didn't bother us. The wrap-around balcony provides absolutely stunning views of Grand Traverse Bay and its gorgeous waters.

Cherry Tree Inn was a very nice place to stay! Had Bayview side, enjoyed outdoor Hot tub and being able to see bay. The rooms were nice and clean! Staff was excellent! Thank you to Chaz for all his help!

Everyone was very welcoming (even the guests) throughout the whole trip which was amazing. If you do stay here, I highly recommend getting the bay view rooms as the view is great, especially at night.

Where do I begin with this place.. First our room wasn't ready and it was already 6:30pm, check-out is 11am, check-in is 3pm. How does it take 4 hours to clean a room?? Next after getting a little discount for the "inconvenience", no late check-out the front desk called not once but TWICE saying we we're being "too loud".. It's spring break and we have 4 kids who are just laying here watching tv are you serious??? We're on the 4th floor with ONE other room on the entire floor that also has several kids stomping around, yelling and screaming at all hours. Definitely my first and LAST stay at this place because what I freaking joke it's been since the beginning!!

Staff is wonderful, location is perfect. 35 minutes or less if your visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes. The bed is super comfortable and the rooms are spotless. Appreciate the updated bathroom, nice little area for a microwave, refrigerator, and sink. The cherry coffee in the lobby is delicious.

A little over-priced, but overall an average experience. The lighting in the rooms due to the CFM bulbs is very bad. The facility is impeccably clean (except the elevators (see below)). The breakfast is no great shakes, and there are never open seats...thus, everyone carries food back to the room and sloshes in the elevators and right outside of them, leaving everything sticky. Pool hours are generous, and kids love not getting kicked out at 10PM.

Smelled like weed in every hallway not there fault however the rooms rooms could use better cleaning as well had stains of something white on bedding parking was also way to tight and barely had one spot open first night

It was sold out so we went next door. But they were friendly hopefully next time.

When I opened the dresser drawer there was half eaten bag of sunflower seeds and Chex mix. Lots of stains on carpet, head board and shower. Staff did not wear a mask when they came to remove the half eaten food. Just really gross room.
