Clock House in West Lindsey

First visit to this wonderful place full of surprises! Very well presented establishment throughout with a surprise upstairs and a secret cupboard dining experience! Our three lunch dishes were fabulous. My Rump Cap & Brisket Burger kicked every other burger I have had, out of the park! Affogato coffee ice cream was divine. Mojitos to kill for! And a special mention of Stacey who was an absolute star behind the bar; serving the meals; giving us the guided tour and discussing future music and dining opportunities with us. Can't wait for our next visit. Doug, Angela and Josie XXX Third visit - at last managed to get to the steak! Chateaubriand did not disappoint. Scored 100 out of 10! I took the offer of a Crocodile-Dundee-sized steak knife but didn't really need it, a butter knife would have been perfectly adequate. Argentinian Merlot went perfectly with it. Another delightful visit. Next mission will be the Bottomless Brunch .... just need to book a room somewhere.....

Excellent food, service and atmosphere

Went for a monday lunch meal with my mum and partner and we loved it. We all had starters and mains, everything was great very tasty. My main I had an easter special lamb shank with mash and gravy, my mum had the pork chop and my boyfriend the tacos. Everyone's meals came well presented and tasted great. For dessert my mum had the biscoff cheesecake which was lovely and I had an affogato. The serving was a good size for everything and reasonably priced. Our server was a young girl so friendly and nice, I think her name was Stacey (name printed on bill) Would love to come back and try the afternoon tea.

We had a lovely with in fact it was exceptional as were the staff. They really made you feel like a valued customer and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will return, just sorry it is not on our doorstep.

Wow I had good service breakfast time.Stacey looked after us and gave us good service the hashbrowns and coffee was put of this world.

The breakfast was fabulous, and the staff were very friendly but also super efficient. Really relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.

Visited this restaurant 3 times so far this year. The food is nothing short of amazing (especially the Sunday roast!!) but above all the service is absolutely fantastic. As the mum of a toddler it can be a challenge trying to keep my son entertained just long enough for us all to enjoy a meal (along with the anxiety of him making a mess) but every time we have visited the Clockhouse all the staff have made an exceptional fuss of my little one. Everyone is so welcoming and smiley, you can sense such a lovely working atmosphere amongst them all! Will absolutely be returning again soon, I can’t praise everyone enough.

Went for an anniversary lunch !! The bar man / waiter was really pleasant and helpful!! When it came to the food , what can I say , my husband had burger which was fine . I went for the fish and chips ! , the picture speaks for itself !! Terrible batter and chips well to bad to describe,

Came for Sunday Lunch. Absolutely amazing. I chose Clock House Roast and it was absolutely loaded with meat and fresh vegetables. Parsnip crisps sprinkled on the Yorkshire Pud are a nice touch and the side of cauliflower cheese was almost to die for. I’d never die for a dish but this is certainly an almost lol. 😂 All washed down with a couple of pints of Asahi lager and my better half was on the Hendricks. Friendly and efficient service by the lovely Emily. Well worth coming from surrounding towns to experience the food. We live twenty miles away ourselves

Oh what an afternoon tea it was amazing, A beautiful selection of sandwiches freshly baked sausage rolls beef pies still warm from the oven, cakes galore, chocolate dipped strawberries. So much doggy boxes were needed and unlimited coffee and tea. Everything was freshly cooked and prepared I can see why 24 hour notice is needed for booking. Great friendly service.

We've just finished our Clockhouse breakfast and it was delicious. The service is excellent as usual. One of the few great places in Gainsborough.

Visited on my own on a Friday night, staff REALLY nice and welcoming, had duck parfait and chicken balotine, well cooked such a shame no sauce in the chicken. Peroni tell cold and well gassed. Made to feel welcome .

This restaurant is great for meals which are first class and also accommodates you if you just want to call for a drink or even coffee and cake or breakfast. i have always been more than happy with the service and food. Steaks are especially yummy too! If your wanting something different this is the place to come.

We had two Yorkshire wraps. One was beef, the other lamb. The beef was great but the lamb was tough. We were offered the option of replacing the lamb without hesitation. Good service throughout.

Saxophone playing was a little loud. Beef on Sunday lunch was a little over cooked ( personal opinion). And would of preferred some mash potato. But overall very nice.

Was utterly impressed by the overall experience, from the moment we arrived at the Clock House, we were greeted warmly by a member of staff (Stacey), seated and asked for our drinks order, the steaks were fantastic and tasted delicious, value for money, prompt service and a warm atmosphere, I cannot recommend this place highly enough, if you want a high quality steak? The Cloch House is definitely the place to go to in Gainsborough.

Met up with a couple of NHS colleagues for our annual get together. My daughter kindly offered to review all the eating places in Gainsborough and following her research of best reviews recommended that we should consider booking a table for 3 at Clock House Gastrobar, Gainsborough. We were not disappointed as we received a very warm welcome and we were shown to our table. The menu was comprehensive and we decided to accept the waitress suggestions and we were not disappointed. Our Fillet Steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable, hence our 5* rating.

Visited here on 10th January.Party of 9 and nothings was too much trouble Amazing steaks. Brilliant friendly and helpful staff. Service was perfect. Couldn’t fault the team or the venue.

My wife me a friend there for a tea time drink at 4-30 and rang me at 7-30 saying should I join them for a bite to eat and I'm so glad I did as what a hidden gem , the girls had a series of starters to share as a main course and I opted for the T bone steak which was superb . Great food great service and a great atmosphere see you again soon .

it was such a lovely evening. me and my mum came here for the first time this evening and the atmosphere and service as soon and we entered could not be better - it was second to none, especially the vibes from stacey. she was lovely and nothing was too much. she even stopped by our table after her shift to say goodbye and wish us a lovely evening. she made our night!! the gin teapots were incredible and the food was outstanding. thank you for a wonderful night! photos are of the pork starter, fish main and the sticky toffee pudding

took my partner for his bday , service is lovely & attentive, food is just perfect , nice selection , didnt try deserts , cocktails lovely & they do mocktails for us drivers, east to find & a car park just across the road , will def go again , would like to try sunday lunch 😊

We had a fabulous works Christmas meal out here. All 12 of us agreed our food was superb. The waitresses were attentive, friendly and very efficient. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Smart well laid out pub deserving of the description of a gastro pub. We turned up without a booking but the staff worked out a table for us and we're very helpful. Menu gave us a choose of breakfast which then turned into a dinner menu 15 mins after we sat down so we had the best of both worlds. Lots of choice we settled for the breakfast. Steak and eggs for me, veggie for one of our group and two breakfast s one full blown and one slightly smaller. Food was good portions a little smaller than expected but still reasonable. Good atmosphere with groups eating or taking in cocktails from the broad choice in the drinks menu. Will use again as overall great venue.

Came yesterday only complaint was wait for meal 45 mins

Went for Black Friday steak offer, as usual food was amazing, was so yummy we didn't want it to end. They were fully booked which was hardly surprising, staff were very busy but still friendly and attentive. I love this place ❤️

Food was lovely only fault frozen grapes on the cheese board. But the service very poor the staff were pleasant but not enough of them so service was painfully slow. Table wasn’t ready when we arrived for our festive dinner ( yes it’s Nov but only chance we have to be together) few festive napkins and a cracker didn’t make it special. Sort out your staffing Issues Clockhouse it’s letting you down.

We popped into this establishment whilst we were visiting the Old town house that's close by. It is a lovely place with warm welcoming staff. We had a Sunday roast dinner that was excellent, high quality, well presented and good value for money. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful evening! We had our Mum over to visit so we took our first opportunity at dining out at the Clock House. We expect this will be our local first choice after moving to Gainsborough quite recently. For the Kitchen, the food was mostly beautiful. I did however leave feedback on the deserts being a bit too ambitious, in particular the croissant cheesecake - the texture, visual appearance and taste wasn't a great pairing for me. I also raised that perhaps a few more vegetables on the mains too, but overall satisfied on the mains and starters. For the Front of House, the three ladies on that night created a wonderful atmosphere, even with the other tables which greatly increased the comfort of the Gastrobar. The service was absolutely incredible and I could not rate them highly enough, the ladies were Stacey, Emily and Lora (The Scottish One 😂😅). Absolutely loved the Nutella Martini (may of had two 🤭), incredible cocktail skills. The £60-70 marked above did include wine and drinks, reason for the higher price.

Wow just wow we had an afternoon tea and it's the nicest one I've ever had. There was three of us and there was absolutely loads .The sandwiches were just beautiful followed by amazing savouries and absolutely fabulous sweets and cakes. We then had a lovely cup of tea. Everything was served in lovely plates and cups. There was that much they even put what we couldn't manage to eat in takeaway boxes for us. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and a big shout out to Stacey whom served us and was so attentive and pleasant. Definitely recommend to everyone and so worthy of 5 stars.

Went to The Clockhouse this evening with my husband for my birthday . We both had the Wagyu steak. It was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Compliments to the chef! The place was full, great relaxed atmosphere. Our starters were very tasty too (Brie and Beef Koftas). Our waitress was great, very attentive and the food and drinks arrived quickly. Thank you, we had a lovely evening. Will definitely return.

Absolutely delicious Sunday roasts and steak! Would highly recommend! We decided to go after seeing reviews and it absolutely didn’t disappoint!

We came for our wedding anniversary. I'm so surprised I only stumbled across this restaurant a few weeks ago. The staff were great, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. As for the food, I had the fillet steak (med rare) and my husband had the ribeye steak (med rare). We added sauces too and I had the creamy mushroom sauce and my husband had the peppercorn sauce. They came with triple cooked chips, mushroom, tomato and sweetcorn. We also shared an 'onion rose' which was battered onion opened up in the shape of a rose. All were cooked to perfection. The steaks were cooked to our liking perfectly. We stayed after our meal to try a couple of cocktails too. We'll definitely be back and thank you to the staff for making it a lovely evening.

We had a family party of 11 and we booked afternoon tea. Quite simply the best afternoon tea experience and food choices we’ve ever eaten . A special thanks for also being able to cater for gluten free /other dietary requirements within our party booking . We will be recommending this to everyone.

Strawberry daiquiri is to die for!

Called in on an early evening trip and indulged in the salt and pepper hanging chicken kebab with mushroom rice. Very flavoursome and well presented. Finished off with apple strudel which was also very tasty. Service was excellent and I found the staff to be very attentive. Would certainly recommend and look forward to a future visit.

We went to the clock house for our birthday, my sister and I. We had a wonderful time, and the staff were so lovely and friendly 😊 And the food was great!! and we will go back. I give the clock house. 5 out of five highly recommend it!! 👌

Service was okay. Too slow to say the restaurant wasn’t incredibly busy - it took a while for first lots of drinks. Others who came in after us got their food first which is never nice considering we waited about 45 mins for our food. And the table service was slow. Unfortunately the food wasn’t hot. It was Luke warm at best and I had requested extra gravy to give it some heat. But quantity was great and apart from the temperature it was cooked lovey. The desserts were average, I sent mine back as it was bitter, dense and over cooked. The truffle was runny and not set but still had a nice taste. Possibly just a bad day. We will visit again as we feel it had great potential and some good menu items. Although on first impression this was 3/5 especially considering for 2 drinks each and food it came to £90+

The steak burger was absolutely great, such a great taste to it. Shall try the steaks next time as they looked amazing. Love the different beers on tap too. Service was great

A little gem in gainsborough, the food is always of a good standard here, especially the steaks as they have their own butchery. if I was being picky it is a little on the expensive side for gainsborough. well worth a visit!

A family gathering.. Travelling from Dorset we arrived late as did other members of our 12 strong party. The staff took it in their stride and really made us feel welcome and not under pressure. We were seated upstairs. Our food arrived, was well prepared hot and tasty. We all felt that the staff really put themselves out to look after us. We were the last to leave but again felt under no pressure. Thank you to all the staff for making what was a difficult time so easy.

Lovely afternoon tea, service was superb, offered a drink as soon as we sat down. Food was lovely, there was a good selection of sandwiches and savouries, but the scones were particularly good. We were checked on for drinks throughout our visit. Look forward to returning.

Food was good, service was excellent. Very attentive. Lovely lady serving us chased after us quite a distance away to hand back my daughters sunglasses (sorry didn’t catch her name) but she went above and beyond and it needs acknowledging. Very slim lady dark hair, thank you.

Hadn't been for several years when only having coffee and cake but recently visited for a light lunch which was excellent and prompted us to book an evening meal a few days later. Some parts of that meal were excellent others not quite so. Service was very good, polite friendly and efficient.

Staff were helpful and friendly, and service was very quick. I had 10oz ribeye with chips and mushy peas, and all were excellent. I will definitely visit again.

Had an amazing lunch here, starters and mains were excellent, steak cooked perfectly, the service matched the food, after a bad meal at another restaurant a few days previous it’s great to find a place doing it right, highly recommend.
