Your Plaice in Erewash

My wife and I have just unfortunately purchased meals from this establishment only to discover once home the chips were warmed up, dry, tasteless offerings, to be quite honest will not be visiting again after being charged full price for something that should've been introduced to the bin at dinner time! Would not recommend 😕

Delivery was one of the fastest I’ve had. Food was piping hot. Lovely haddock, generous portion of chips. Mushy peas also good and hot. Only minor fault was fish batter stuck to paper and tricky to unwrap. But that’s a tiny thing and I’m glad food was hot and delicious. Would recommend!

Had a meal,last week take away. It cost £20 I had plaice it was covered in thick grease there was a small fish in side not properly cooked we had a small fish as well covered in grease. We had awful warmed up chips as well it was really disgusting it went in the bin will never go again to this place for plaice they need to learn how to cook regards colin brown

Little greasy but very fresh and tasty.

The measure of any food place is how good the food is during their busiest times. Your Plaice gets a full 5/5 here. The fish was tender and full of flavour and the chips done just right. 2nd order in 2 days. Both Excellent!

Ordered my son a mixed Kebab, on Thursday night about 9.30. He said that it was barely warm and tasted undercooked. He is still poorly on Sunday. I paid for it to be delivered, just so he can have a touch of food poisoning. Never using these again!!

Thier only problem is Thier chips, I haven't had a portion where I have had to throw half of them away. Bad potatoes from whoever supplies them.

Pie and sausage great. But sorry the chips were awful tonight. Undercooked and soggy normally spot on so disappointing. The peas were also very watery.

I asked for “Peri Peri Chips” but when they came they turned out to be those horrid cheap French fries, which is weird at a chip shop and wasn’t clear from the menu. I asked for them to change them for normal chips (as you’d expect in a chip shop) and to be fair on them they did. However, the replacement food was vile. The saveloy was cold and tasted weirdly of chlorine and the beans were disgusting. Ended up putting it in the bin after two mouthfuls. Waste of money.

Great fish and chips and excellent value for money,the mini fish has be broken to fit in the box. If the mini is the size it is god knows what the large looks like. Highly recommend but go and order at the shop as even ordering from them online or elsewhere is quite a bit more expensive and they dont have the meal deals online either.

Popped in for a quick meal deal, chips, mushy peas and a battered sausage. Let me tell ya something pal these guys do a spanking battered sausage it was devine perfectly cooked and tasted exquisite 👌 😋 The chips weren't bad either and to be fair they gave me a reet big portion. The mushy peas were good but my aiming was bad. I didn't realise I had dropped peas on my trousers and ended up walking round for the rest of the day with what can only be described as slimey snot dripping down my leg 🤮

Lived in the area for 15yrs and forgot this place was there, won't forget again! Had a Donner meat and chips, 3 x Mixed meat and chips and 2 pickled eggs. Absolutely bangin. Great chips, the Donner meat wasn't grease soaked or covered in fat, great flavour. Entire meal was great and fantastic portion. 10/10 will eat again.

Best chippy about, kebabs are perfect. Never any complaints for this place

Ordered a large but was pretty small and Luke warm. Asked for no salad on kebab, came covered in salad. Chips nice.

One of the worst I ever had. They cannot even roll the simple wrap. Cold tortilla, no salt on chips. Very poor level. I wouldnt recomend to anyone.

Fish was anemic looking, chips weren't much better. Overpriced and shop looked dirty In reply to the below It was overpriced for the mediocre food you served, had it been decent I wouldn't have had a problem with the price. It has nothing to do with paying cash, I paid cash happily. As far as the complaint of cleanliness being "nonsense", it's nice to see you take complaints as seriously as you do cleanliness, obviously not at all. You're reply goes to show how unprofessional you are and the further previous 1 star reviews and 3 star food hygiene rating only solidify my opinion.

Very pleasant girl behind the counter but the fish and chips were the worst we have ever had. Greasy chips, soggy, very thin so called large fish. Sorry, very disappointing.

Food was soggy and peas were watery

It’s a truth not universally acknowledged that chips from ANY chippy on a Monday - Weds are not the best and often reheated because of low customer turnover. Due to an oven failure we had no choice but to try Monday chips from the nearest chippie open. Happy to say they were hot, freshly cooked and ready at time given.

Absolutely.lovely family owners. Arrived shortly before closing time and nothing was too much trouble, giving us a free range of food to choose for them to cook freshly, including chips. Once home, it was piping hot and absolutely delicious! 💯 out of 💯 and will.most certainly return. Highly recommended.

From first visit the fish and chips were great. Fish was in fantastic condition and chips cooked perfectly. Since then, now going regularly.

The food wasn't great, cold, the cod was full of bones, the batter was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The chips were cold and sloppy from the peas. Pickled egg didn't taste right. The delivery driver was lovely but that's the only positive, Hoping for a refund as ended up in the bin.

The fish had a faint ammonia taste to it, Chips were not very nice. Kebab meet wasn't too good either, in fact the donner meat was more like Spam than lamb and the chicken had a metallic chemical-ish flavour. Rare for me, but everything went in the bin.
