Gary and Heather are excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Not sure about the party drinks, but the effort is appreciated. 10 out of 10

Love this pub! It’s a quintessential village pub; great beer garden for the summer months and a fabulous hearty Sunday dinner for the winter months. The staff are welcoming, the menu is cracking and there’s plenty of choice in beer and wine.

Absolutely love this place. The best meals I've ever had hands down. If I'm ever in the area I can't drive by without stopping for lunch and a pint. Love the choice of ales!!! Food is proper home cooked and always fab for portions sizes. Had an amazing mothers day meal with 9 of us and it was amazing for the price. Highly recommended to everyone to go, if you haven't been already.

Food very good but , too quiet, nice layout but the price of Pedigree beer a little over the top. I know better value locally. Poor disabled access. 13 stairs from car park.

Had a first meal out in months following lockdown and the first since the new owners took over the local. We were in the garden and despite it being quite chilly the food was well cooked and served piping hot. We ate scampi and fish and chips from the simple ‘garden menu’. Good service and tasty pub food. The beer was also very good. Thank you and we will definitely be back to try again when the full menu is in place and we can go inside.

Managed to get out for a Sunday lunch at the pub today, which was a great treat. They are currently offering both eat in (outside) and take-away Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and I highly recommend stopping by for food or just a drink in the large rear garden.

Mother and I came here for lunch mid week, during covid restrictions, and we couldn't have been more welcomed! The landlord chattered to us and we felt really welcome. The food was homemade and delicious, we had beef lasagne and mushroom and leek lasange with garlic bread and salad, it was absolutely fantastic!I highly recommend this place, and a beautiful position overlooking a walking route.Wonderful! I am very pleased to say that the Navi is our local. Having said that I would travel to be there. The food from Dave the chef and his trusty team is consistently first class. There is always a friendly welcome from Gaynor and the front of house team and a great selection of well kept beverages too!Dog friendly inside and out with tables outside next to the old canal path - can be busy on warm days! All in all a great venue, with good COVID measures in place.

It's 05/08/2020 and me and my wife have just been to have a meal at the Navigation Inn at Risley Lane, Breaston, WOW! I had their homemade chicken & leek pie. The broccoli and carrots were cooked just right, not too hard not too soft. The homemade pie was also perfect, the crust just the right thickness and the chicken and leek filling just melted in your mouth. I don't write reviews normally, but this meal, even though it would just be classed as a standard meal to many, just had to be written about. Thanks Rob & Kathy

A very welcoming pub with great knowledgeable staff serving good beers & wine and with really excellent 3 choice roast dinners with fresh veg and great Yorkshires, small portions for the children and a quick service. The facilities are clean and the building well maintained. Fascinating history & future canal renovation. Well worth another visit.

This was my 3rd time eating at The Navigation in the last few months & my second Sunday lunch. I can’t fault the food or service here & the new owners have improved the pub inside & out no end - still dog friendly in the bar area which is brilliant. Well worth a visit.

We have visited the navigation for Sunday lunch several times now and we love it. We sit in the restaurant side and generally book to ensure we eat at the time that suits us. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming, the ambiance is cosy and the room always calm and friendly. The Prosecco is always perfectly cold, which is always a priority for me ..Today we had beef, chicken and pork dinner and all meals were scrumptious . We find the normal small plate sufficient to in portion size, the veg broccoli, cauliflower and carrots were aldente which is how we like it. Gravy was tasty and thick, more available if we wanted it. I’m only saddened to not try the puddings as we were so full we couldn’t manage it.Thank you for a lovely meal, I hope you will be doing Christmas Day lunch as we would definitely be there if you are

Much better environment than last visited approximately 18 months ago. Friendly service. Lunch average: ciabatta with Brie and cranberry sauce (asked for that instead of bacon) and chips. Presentation would be improved with some salad items.

We have eaten here a few times now and have always had a fantastic, home cooked meal. My father in law was very impressed with the steak and my fussy 12yr old loves the vegetarian lasagne. My father who is very hard to please also thoroughly enjoyed the beef pie when we took him. The landlady is also very helpful because every time I request in advance for a pizza for my fussy 8yr old who won't enjoy a smaller portion of anything from the main menu, she always obliges and has one waiting for us. Bonus is they take dogs so we also enjoy visiting for a couple of drinks with our pooch in tow, although he sometimes likes to think the pub is his and shouts at other dogs who arrive after him- my apologies

Came here for Mother's Day Lunch. Very limited menu, a choice of roast beef, chicken or pork. Vegetables were soggy and tasteless. Mash potato tasteless, roast potato overcooked, stuffing ball overcooked and hard. Food was not enjoyable to eat and felt like a chore. Next time I'll invite my mum home and do the roast myself with a much better taste.

A nice refurb and the staff are pleasant but when we visited it was death by brown beer - when asked if they had something pale they offered an IPA. like going back in time. Shame when pubs are run by people who know nothing about beer.

Went for a coffee and a cake, and I was very surprised. Coffee was excellent and a good size, the cake was lovely, staff very good. Will definitely go again, I'll take a book next time it's so relaxing. I've tried windmill and bottle kiln. This is so much better. Give the project a visit you will be blessentily surprised .yes, I will go again and again. Forgot to mention is run by Arean Church and it has cloths and furniture for sale too. It is very well laid out and excellent quality
