I usually enjoy every meal at Gannets for its freshness and the friendly staff. However yesterday I had a feta quiche and for some reason had cubes of beetroot in it which were tasteless and spoiled the taste and texture of the quiche. Might I suggest to not use the beetroot in future.
“Had an excellent breakfast at baobab! The food was delicious, the coffee was perfect, and the customer service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend for a great start to the day!”
The restaurant itself is accessible, providing you don’t need to use any facilities (toilets). If you’re in a wheelchair then you can forget it. After a lovely meal I needed to use the toilet before we left as we had a 40 min drive back home. But there was no disabled/accessible toilet. My partner highlighted this to the staff and the manager came. She asked me if I wanted to use the gents! She said she would block it off for me. For context I am a young women. It’s unsafe for me without using grabrails. I ended up having to travel half a mile away and use some dark and dingy disabled toilets up the road!
Seems to have changed lately. It was a faff getting a table. The menu was small and kind of unhealthy / fried. Seemed expensive. Toilets were pretty grim which always makes me think about the general hygiene. Will tried somewhere different next time.
Back again to enjoy superb tasty food with excellent service once again.
We were warm and cosy next to the log burner on a cold wet evening.
Have booked to return again with family very soon.
Although you can eat in this bustling restaurant, I am reviewing this on a takeaway basis. This is a great take away option.
Lots of choice, gluten free options are a plenty.
The food is really well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The portions are huge.
This is definitely one of my favourite take away options and I highly recommend it!
I ordered 1 chicken phal.
Lemon rice.
Onion bhajis.
Chapatis.
Chips.
It was not a phal that I asked for and very very watery.
Rice was normal pilau with a bit of pickled lemon added.
Onion bhajis were so salty I only had 1 bite.
Chapatis were nice.
Fries were nice.
Lady on the phone that took my order was lovely.
Very very disappointed as I've ordered from zaika for the last 4 years and never really had a problem apart from a couple of occasions when the curry was a little watery but this time round it was horrendous.
Do I order from them again.? I don't know, I won't waste my money on sub standard food, it's as simple as that..
Come on zaika, I know you are better than this. !!!
