Seems to have changed lately. It was a faff getting a table. The menu was small and kind of unhealthy / fried. Seemed expensive. Toilets were pretty grim which always makes me think about the general hygiene. Will tried somewhere different next time.

My partner and I have been going here for more than 10 years. Last week we took our friend’s children. We were 3 adults and 2 teenagers. We had 5 different burgers from the menu. Food was as always delicious, piping hot and the chicken in the burgers was deliciously crispy! This place has always been exceptional in every way. Great food, lovely staff and warm and inviting ambience. Will certainly continue to return:-)

Came here with our friends and their children. We all had coffee’s and the kids had milkshakes. The coffee’s were very good and the kids enjoyed their ‘epic’ milkshakes! It’s lovely and cosy in here and very Christmassy.

St Martin's Coffee Shop in Leicester is just a gem. I can't express how much I love it, but I'm still going to try for the sake of this review. I've eaten here for breakfast and brunch many times, and whenever I am in town, I have to go. By a country mile, this place offers the best tasting food in Leicester. The breakfast and brunch menu is amazing, there is such a good range of delicious food on offer, and everything comes out quickly and piping hot. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the space is cosy and comfortable. There are a range of chairs available which is great for accessibility purposes, and the staff are very helpful in swapping out chairs with arms for chairs without, if anyone has any access needs. There are two floors in the venue, with stairs to the top floor. However, the ground floor is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and has lots of tables to choose from. The food here is truly unreal. I would recommend trying the smashed avocado toast, with additional sides of bacon, eggs and hash brows. The toast is cooked to perfection, the avocado is seasoned with lime, the feta and tomatoes are juicy and liberally included. The eggs are always runny but not too runny, and the hash brows are big, with a crispiness to their outsides, but a soft, fluffy potato inside. Even the ketchup that comes with the hash browns is tangy and delicious. The bacon is streaky, smoky and crispy, and comes in vast slices. The coffee is excellent, and I've eaten and drank other choices from the menu before which are equally as amazing. In the evenings for a few days a week, this place becomes Crafty Burger, the home of the best burger in the U.K. Search it on here, because it's so worth a visit. The only request I would have is that the milkshakes all sound unbelievable, but there aren't any dairy-free options for lactose-sensitive people like myself. Overall, 11/10. If this place ever closes, I am moving away, because I could never walk past or look at the venue again if it was no longer serving the same food and drinks. I could not live in a city where all my hopes and dreams died. Try this place, you won't be disappointed!

We had breakfast here on our recent trip. From the moment we entered we were made feel very welcome by the staff. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful and at present I have a few allergies but I was well catered for here. Lovely environment in a beautiful part of the city Great coffee too

Fantastic burger and great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. I xl my burger, and it was epic. I'd recommend the xl everyday.

I visited St Martins for brunch and ordered a fruit waffle with coffee. The coffee was good as it always is at St Martins. However, the waffle was terrible, it was pre cooked and left on the side, and when people order it, it is reheated and served. It tastes bland and dry, and lacked sauces. Definitely will not be visiting again for brunch.

Spectacular! Always 10/10 service, amazing quality fresh food and are always happy to be accommodating. Although known for the great coffee of course, the tea and hot choc is excellent too.

Amazing service and quick lunch stop, we had a Cuban sandwich which was SO GOOOOOOOD!! A must visit if you’re in town and fancy food/a quick drink or both!

Still the best value for money coffee shop/ burger joint in Lesta. Always service with a smile and plates of joy served here, just wish I had time to visit more often, looking forward to my next visit.

Not my usual or 1st choice for a breakfast but as in the area on a late start we decided to stop here before our lunch meeting. The staff are exceptionally friendly and served us with a warm smile. The good was as expected and served us well.

There’s a reason that this place is my favourite breakfast spot! The avocado toast is bloody gorgeous, the yoghurt and granola is up there too! The atmosphere is always chilled and relaxed.

Now you don't have to carry your coffee upstairs - the table service is great. The coffee's still lovely. But they used to do skin-on fries that were excellent. The French fries now taste like McDonalds - overpriced at £3.50.

Great take away lunch yesterday with delicious Cuban sandwiches and bacon cobs. Great coffee and very tasty mulled wine. Really good place to call into and delighted that they are still working in these times. Please support they.

Used to come here for really good coffee but visited yesterday and we were really disappointed to say the least.They have changed coffee suppliers and we were told that although they are still called St Martins the coffee does not come from this local roasters...

Great atmosphere, the staff is always lovely. I usually come for meetings, but also great for studying or working. Its really big with plenty of tables, I prefer to be upstairs. My favourite is the oat chai latte, I love that they have oat milk!...

I popped in here when wandering through the city centre after a visit to De Montfort University. The cafe is much bigger than it seems from the outside and they offer a varied menu including bagels, toasties and various cakes and tray bakes. My americano was perfect and the cafe had a lovely laid-back feel. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We were here for a wedding- we had the entire up stairs. I'm guessing maybe 60-70 guests? This was THE BEST wedding meal I've ever had! It was 'family service'- platters of food put on the table to share, which was a wonderful idea. The food was terrific- chicken, chips, salads...desserts were pavlovas but I was by then almost too full to take even a bite but I couldn't resist. The hors d'oeuvres were creatively delicious. Everything was well served- staff were terrific! The play area for the children was a brilliant idea. Our family live in Leicester and we when we are in the city again we will be coming to St. Martins Tea...

Its my fav coffee place in Leicester. Always great coffee, fresh food menu. Only downside is that they close after lunch. Its very laid back and staff are very friendly. Pancakes are great.

They do amazing coffee here, we all had different types and thought they were all great. My family had the curry wraps they do with chicken or cauliflower inside and they both enjoyed them. I had the chicken leg with salad and I really enjoyed it but I think there were too many chickpeas, maybe they could add another element instead of so many chickpeas. I will be back here again!

I don't know what they do to their coffee but it is highly addictive. I try my best to savour it slowly but it disappears way too fast - sometimes I have to go back for another hit. Love the people who work here too, they have character and you feel that they genuinely want you to enjoy their hospitality compared with what you find in the insincere faceless chains.

Best coffee shop in Leicester, stunning coffee and a great fresh food menu also, great atmosphere to go and enjoy a coffee and the additional seating upstairs also offers a quieter space to enjoy a coffee and bite to eat, excellent customer service and always friendly helpful staff, never once left disappointed.

I love the atmosphere in here, I could sit here for hours and just people watch. The staff are friendly, the coffee is fresh and the food is tasty. A happy regular!

Our favourite place in Leicester (and that’s saying something), on our last visit enjoyed a beautiful Chai Latte and a chicken sandwich which left me speechless. Great value, delicious food, cool place. Make sure you visit. Ideal for a little drink and cake or something more substantial.

Popped in for a breakfast bit and was surprised how I hadn't found this place sooner. It's very cozy, comfortable and offers a great selection of food. I am already looking forwards to a return visit, keen to try out there lunch menu.

St Martins has been one of my top coffee places to over the past year, but lately it’s started to go a bit downhill. The staff used to be friendly, but most of these staff seem to have left now and been replaced by, I’m sorry to say, monotonous staff. However, I understand that most people don’t go to a cafe for a chat so I put that to one side. The food is my main issue, the previous menu catered to vegans and vegetarians so well which is why I used to visit, but now the menu is mostly chicken-based and uninspired.

Went here for a coffee, which was very nice. Wandered around Leicester for a while and decided to come back here for lunch. I had the triple cheese sourdough. It was awful and I could only manage a couple of mouthfuls. I didn’t realise that the cheese was not only inside but also coated the outside of the bread, on both sides of the bread. This made it incredibly greasy and in all honesty, stodgy and gloopy. Such a shame. My sister had the chickpea salad which she found bland and uninspiring.

Had the best experience in St Martin's, as being coeliac have big difficulty on finding the right place to enjoy my time with friends and eat safely. Had Sophie to help me,had the best explanation and support. She introduce me the sandwich which she made for me with chicken, vegetables and pesto. I would like to thank her a lot and St Martin's is very lucky to have such person with them. Definitely recommend it

Visited here with a work colleague and loved it. We shared the chicken naan as it was huge and also a side of chips. For £10 between us, you can't beat it. The food was delicious and really tasty. Lots of sauces which I love. The venue itself is "quirky" but well placed in the city centre with lots of places to sit upstairs and down. Also loved the chocolate on top of the cappuccino. The staff were delightful and we will definitely be back.

I had a voucher to use and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I went with a friend and do frequently come here when it is Crafty Burger (best burgers in town). The seating is very nicely laid out with a great atmosphere. Food was fantastic with large portion sizes. Outstanding selection of teas and coffees. Strongly recommended.

Highly recommend a visit to St Martins Tea And Coffee for breakfast. Service was brilliant as well as the food, I’ve lived in Leicester all my life and this place is serving one of the best breakfasts in town. A must have is the bacon naan, a taste sensation.

I visited with my parents - staff were very pleasant, and we enjoyed excellent coffees, which were very reasonably priced for the quality. The decor is quirky, and the whole cafe has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

It's a great cafe. Took one star off because I was asked if I wanted brown or white bread, and when I asked if the brown was wholemeal, the man on the till said yes, it's granary. I said granary isn't necessarily wholemeal. The chef was right next to the till, so I asked him. He said yes, it's granary. Another man then said the same thing! Then the woman doing the coffee came over and said that the brown bread wasn't wholemeal. So I had the white. (Brown bread is white plus colouring.) When I went to get my coffee, I said to the woman, "At least you know about wholemeal". I was being friendly. I meant it as a compliment. She was very defensive, saying that the second man didn't speak good English. She said I had an "attitude". I said I was just trying to get information. I said, "Shouldn't people in catering know about wholemeal and wholefood?" She got more defensive - rude, actually. I asked for the manager. She said she was the manager. Oh well...

Really great place to go. Never have to wait long. Staff friendly, Atmosphere and music always good. Always tidy.

I have been to St Martin’s many times. The coffee, cake and food is always excellent and served promptly. They are very child friendly with a great upstairs area to entertain a toddler and there are high chairs, potty’s etc.

I went here twice. Once alone for the lunch (sandwich) and I didn't like so much that one, but i did like the drink :).. and once for the dinner with a friend. The dinner was great... I loved Mexican style fries, yummyyyy... and the burger was delicious... In the evening, place is full of people, lively, ideal for friends... while during lunchtime it is more quite, you can relax, read book, have your own space... I would go again :)

We have been using this coffee shop for a while it is always great with good coffee (especially the cortado). I would like to thank them for bringing back the pancakes and streaky bacon with maple syrup which is a favourite of mine.

Visited on a whim with my partner. I’ve been coming up to Leicester to see family for the past 2 and 1/2 years and I have been looking for a cafe just like this! Chilled out, music not too loud but not too quiet, incredible food with good vegan options, lovely staff AND you can bring your dog! I mean what more can you want. I’m from London so the prices to me were good as I’m used to paying a premium. I’ve been told St Martin’s is a little pricey. Even so, it’s well worth a visit. I’ll be sure to go again, but this time with my furry friend :).

I visited here for breakfast before work. I had the salmon, got loads of salmon for what I paid. I will be definitely returning.

This is a really pleasant, relaxed place for excellent coffee (their own roast) and a huge variety of teas. The food menu also looked interesting with vegetarian and vegan choices and a kids’ menu.

Love this place it’s been one of my favourite coffee shops for a while BUT (wish there wasn’t a but) I was bit gutted on our last visit I ordered the rotisserie chicken with smokey beans on the side and it was really bland! The coffee was still good but the menu seems to have been reduced a lot the nice beans on toast are gone ☹️ and what I had was disappointing. Also during my visit the toilets seemed to need a deep clean and tarting up. Hopefully they’ve just had a long season and all will be sorted.

If you want to enjoy a nice coffee in a place that’s not too noisy, not too posh, and doesn’t take itself too seriously then this is a good choice. It’s a friendly service, the coffee is good and the food is simple and tasty.

We came for a quick bite for breakfast and coffee on a Saturday morning and loved our experience. We came with my toddler who was entertained by one of the books off the book shelf. High chairs available and baby changing facilities in the downstairs toilet. I had the avocado with feta and chilli flakes on a bagel which tasted amazing!! It was really busy but really friendly staff! Thank you

The coffee shop decor is rather more shabby than shabby chic. Wooden "school" chairs which were not very comfortable. Toilets cramped and not very clean. No lift obviously obvious and customers who choose to sit upstairs have to carry their drinks up. There didn't appear to be any table service for drinks. However, the date flapjack was delicious and, judging how full the cafe was, popular.

Always try my best to come here when caffeine and food is required when in town. (Support local business and all that jazz.)

Good place if you want decent teas and coffees and food is reliable. Shabby chic look is ok, be good if had more choice of dairy free milk.

Stopped here for coffee and a bacon butty. Very clean and friendly place. Coffee was excellent and the bacon butties were generous. Very fresh bread, although the bacon could have been crisper, but maybe that is just personal taste.

We have been coming to st. Martin's for a couple of years now. Everytime we always enjoy the wonderful service and even more perfect drinks. This place is an asset to Leicester and we are alway a happy to to visit!

Lovely atmosphere, great food, decent prices and friendly staff. It can get really busy here but the staff manage to keep up and still stay upbeat the whole time.

Lovely place to eat with lots of outdoors seating and inside. The staff are usually very nice and are consistent so you really get to know them. In a nice area of Leicester with nice customers. Food is very nice however some items are a bit too expensive for what they are. Other than that completely recommend.

Twee keer geweest naar dit leuke café. Maar.... de tweede keer bestelden wij o.a. een vers gemaakte icetea met peach. Al pratend dronk ik mijn glas snel leeg. Op de bodem van het glas lagen wat vaste stukjes. Bij nader onderzoek bleken dat dode mieren te zijn, zes stuks.... Meteen gemeld bij de dame achter de balie, haar reactie was veelzeggend: 'oh, dat gebeurt wel meer ze zullen wel in de siroop zitten'. Als je zo je producten durft te serveren aan je gasten... Bah!

I find this one weird.the good parts of it are the fact it's very well decorated, and the coffee is fantastic.

Leicester has a lot of coffee houses but not many put the effort into sourcing single origin coffee and having great selections of sweet and savoury. Great decor with a farmhouse style. Lots of seating. Great staff and more importantly, great coffee.

A great coffee and meal awaits. Bagels with bacon to mackerel salad await in this shabby chic diner. The food is well presented, cooked fresh and promptly served. The coffee is very goo and they also offer a broad range of silver and green teas for the more discerning diner.

My second visit here in a few weeks and I tend not to review on the first visit. I have had the Rotisserie Chicken again and it was superb, loads of chicken (the breast and wing). Came with terrific “skin on” fries and a tasty ‘slaw. Excellent value and washed down with a pint of Lawless. Will be back soon!

Locale piacevole su due piani.. servono dalla colazione al brunch alla cena..si ordina alla cassa ma poi almeno ti portano il piatto al tavolo.. i panini sono gustosi così come le patatine.. è bello anche solo per prendere una tazza di tè e lavorare al computer.. lo consiglio

Having just arrived in Leicester on our MU outing it seems that the vast majority of us desended on this lovely cafe. A warm welcome greeted us all and they coped well with the sudden influx. Good coffee. Excellent facilities too.

Lovely coffee shop with outdoor seating for those days when weather allows. Quite popular with university students which means everything is always fresh and atmosphere is fun and lively.

Over the years as an avid cafe crawling cyclist I’ve had the pleasure of exploring lots of different cafes and none of them do it quite like st martins they’re the pinnacle for me I love the place. Great service, really good food not an extensive menu but always done well and great coffee cafe 5* for me as it has been for a while.

We called in this morning for coffee and Mrs Bells brownies which were delicious, not sure about hygiene in this coffee shop didn't look the best, men serving coffee had hands in cups and hands in their hair behind the counter staff didn't look the best, don't think I would visit again

Second visit, just as good as the first. Amazing bacon sarnie, beautiful fresh cut bread. Very good sized tea, two big cups out of the pot. Rey yummy cakes, my fav I’d the salted caramel bubbles bar. Will be back again, and again.

A group of us who were new to Leicester sought out this cafe for lunch and were really glad that we did. The place was busy and buzzing though it seemed to be in a quiet area of town. Coffees were great and the food was tasty and filling and really set us up for the rest of the day. The service was informal, relaxed, but attentive. Well worth a visit!

This cafe is run by people who really know about coffee. They do delicious cakes and also excellent brunch/lunch dishes. The decor and furniture is delightfully quirky - and it's independent! Many restaurants and bars in the area serve their coffee.

Absolutely delicious coffee, which is a real highlight. However, I also ordered a croissant and was told it would be warmed through... unfortunately it wasn't and seemed stale. This let the whole visit down and I felt a little cheated. If you're offering great coffee, every bit of food offered should be equally as tasty and fresh.

The meal was lovely and the skin on fries were to die for. Great sandwich the bread was delicious. I just wish there was more on the menu. Also not to keen on the tomato sauce that was in the sandwich. I will visit this place again

Very nice lunch with roasted chicken and chips. Would have given 5 stars but found the children’s menu a bit limited. Challenging to find something for fussy 4 and 6 year olds.

A warm, cozy little place with great coffee. Just 2 minutes walk from King Richard III visitor center and 5 minutes from the Highcross Shopping centre. Good place to get some work done as well since they have wifi.

I might have visited the wrong place but I found their menu quite limited, since I was looking for something that resembles an english breakfast.

Always go here for coffee when in Leicester - great for brunch too. The Avacodo on toast is my personal favourite although to be fair that’s all I have ever had!!

Don't be fooled by the Name. As well as roasting their own coffee blends, they do an amazing rotisserie chicken too. I went at lunch, and for just £7 I got a quarter chicken with lightly charred skin and succulent meat with a pineapple sweet and sour sauce, fries (too good!) and American style slaw. Oh and a small salad.

Really great place in St Martins to chill out in a warm, modern, urban feel building with pricey but really nice food and coffee. Staff seem really friendly and liberal vibes. The avocado on sour dough is amazing! A small playarea upstairs for small kids to play, great for parents! Defintely return.

We stopped in here for coffee and cake. The staff were very pleasant; the coffee was great tasting and the Belgian Chocolate cake was excellent. We will be visiting again as the bacon doorstep sandwiches looked lovely.

My wife and I visited here for lunch in mid week. I had a very good triple cheese toasty and my wife had a good cheese sandwich. We both had standard coffees - very good. Not cheap - £15 for the above but friendly and very central. Worth a visit.

Honestly i just had a sandwitch and a cup of coffee here. The location is great and the atmosphere is chill. I was a bit upset they didin't have vegan dessert options, because my friend is vegan. The sandwitch was ok, coffee was good as well.
