Great breakfast, at a great price. Seemed like a vibrant venue, albeit a little quiet in the morning, which was also very pleasant.

Had a Mother’s Day meal with my daughter and grandson, they even provided a highchair, the Mother’s Day meal was delicious and the price was really good, To the chief and landlady made us feel very welcome I can honestly say we will be back

i went here to eat and the food i ask for they didn't have, and option 2 they didn't have either! the young girl at the bar looks like a trainee and was not getting any help from the other girl there, she was to busy doing nothing!

We had excellent service. Both had Sunday lunch which was chicken. Loads of different veg, roast potatoes and two small Yorkshire puds. A jug of rich gravy. £5 each person. We were even offered free puddings but we’re already full. Well worth the visit. Our 2nd time and will visit again soon.

This rating is out of frustration. I wanted to visit for lunch so looked at 'menus' on website - but no food is mentioned - it goes straight to drinks. I sent email to Marstons but have had no reply. I rang to book table and ask about food - no one answered so listened to message - it is talking about being full for England - Italy match [football] which must have been over a year ago- so I asked for a 'ring-back' - so far nothing has happened. Does this pub still exist??-

We hired the Grand Union for a private function and couldn’t recommend it enough. Kathy and the whole team were on hand and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They helped with setting up and tidying down, and even helped bring everything to&from the car. They also washed our trays etc and stored the cake for us until the next day. The door staff were amazing & helped to make sure the function stayed private using their stamp system. Our night couldn’t have gone any better & it was hugely down to the staff. The venue looked great & was clean, tables were moved to accommodate the food etc., and staff checked the toilets often to ensure they were clean and had toilet roll. We had many people commenting that the drinks prices were really good and that the place was a lovely venue. Thank you guys for helping make our night memorable! We will definitely be back!

I met up with a couple of friends to go for some drinks for the Tigers match. We decided to pop into the Grand Union beforehand. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a couple of pints of Hobgoblin IPA and whilst I was chatting, I noticed just how busy it was. It got to the point where we were almost out of standing space. But the staff were friendly and more importantly they were on the ball. Thankfully, we had a table, where we noticed the menu, so I ordered the Grand Union stack. It was cooked beautifully and was very filling. After the match, we came back for another couple of drinks, and it’s safe to say my friends and I will be coming back.

I highly recommend this pub, their customer service is second to none. The quality of food and drink here is outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time, great value for money too. I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service, and the ambiance here was inviting and comfortable. The bar tender was very knowledgeable on the product he sells too, patiently explaining the nuances of each drink we were interested in, and went above and beyond in making sure our dietary requirements were met. All in all 10/10, and will definitely be coming in again. We also met the landlady's cute little dog, it was so cute. Found out the pub was dog friendly, and we will be coming back for the Sunday dinners.

Fantastic food great choice of drinks too they have a vegan option too I had the grand Union stack burger which was delicious to say the least I highly recommend this place the staff were all fantastic very polite and was very helpful would definitely come again x

A fantastic bar in the heart of Leicester. Always a warm welcome from staff and locals; the food and drinks are great, not too pricy either. Something going on all the time, whether you're popping in for lunch or partying mad as a student! No better place on New Walk for all your needs!

We had a pint that we shared with our friends, it was some good time

Used to be great food but today it was perhaps the worst meal of my life chicken burger was frozen and about 5mm thick it would have struggled to fill up baby, bun was wet and chips where greasy, not only that ran out of beer again when it was not busy overall a massive disappointment to what used to be a great pub and food. Also toilets where wet through as pipes had been pulled off the wall

Popped in had a cuppa tea whilst waiting for my daughter to finish work, sadly we were not able to have food as the kitchen shut at 4pm. But the lady that was behind the bar was friendly and brought my tea over to me. Nice little pub

Called in on the way to football match. No fancy coffee, paid £1.95 for weak, half a cup of coffee. Wasn't impressed.

If you're disabled forget this place. There's stairs to the bar no disabled toilet only toilets are up stairs. I had to leave my drink that was 10p more than advised outside. I had to go to another bar so I could have a pee. 🤬

Came across the Grand Union by chance with my daughter and was greeted with a lovely atmosphere and friendly service. We ordered the Nachos with pulled pork and chilli both of which tasted delicious. The slice of free cake was a nice touch. Would recommend x

Went I later on one Saturday night. Not busy but the staff were fab asked us our music preference and got the dj to change it for us oldies. We're offered free shots but declined. Will return next time we are in Leicester.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Good drink deals and brilliant food, my personal favourite being the vegan burger and their beautiful Sunday dinner. A perfect place for match days. They often host karaoke, tribute acts and other live entertainment often. Always a delight being here.

We took the kids there on Easter Sunday, a great find. Excellent value on Sunday Lunch 2 for 1. Welcoming staff. And the kids left with a free chocolate rabbit each. Definite for a return visit.

Prices are good san Miguel 5.10 Night was not busy even on Friday night 🥲 Atmosphere is really amazing, loud and live music 🎶 🎼 There’s two doors private in and private out, I don’t know what’s it about will explore next time 😅 Team seems friendly. Didn’t try their food but will update if I visit again.

The menu was affordable and the food was very tasty ! I had the steak and cheese sandwich with a side of freshly cooked chips which was delicious. The atmosphere is really cosy and chilled in the day but great for a laugh on the night as they do karaoke on a Wednesday, Staff are really friendly too so you will be well looked after! They do a great range of drinks my favourite from what I’ve tried would probably be the colada spritz cocktail as it’s nice and refreshing. Can’t recommend enough !

I ordered a sundae which was very nice and had a vegan option, It came with sprinkles and choclate sauce and flake. I had three different flavours in my sundae. 10/10 would defo recommend. Loved the staff!
