A party of us went along on Sunday 22nd December for our annual Christmas catch-up. Catering for 17 isn't an easy task and over the years we've found that Christmas meals are usually a little disappointing. However I've received nothing but compliments about the food we had and we were all genuinely blown away by the quality and standard of our meals. All of the staff were warm and friendly and we were made to feel really welcome.Thank you for a thoroughly lovely afternoon. We cant wait to come back to try the standard menu.

The change of owners did not adversely affect King Richard. And even, it managed to sense a note of extravagance. The service was very pleasant, it was felt that each of the girls has their own charm. Food in the right size, tasty, filled the taste buds on the tongue. Great place for a getaway to the city center (where there is only commercial and soulless places). We recommend and we will definitely be back for a bit of extravagance.Kind RegardsRenata Piętoń i Ireneusz Grzywna

A group of us visited the King Richard pub for a Sunday lunch birthday celebration. The dining room was cosy and decorated in dark colours and historical prints of Richard Third with hints of contemporary/chic wallpaper. The staff were extremely attentive and provided everything we asked for - the only thing they didn’t have was a coat stand/hooks for our coats and I suggested that they perhaps needed one...The Food was excellent, it was hot and the roast chicken was the best I had tasted for a long time. We all had our own little gravy jug and provided even more gravy when we asked! The puddings were divine too...It didn’t feel like we were in the middle of Leicester and had an old house/pub vibe. We will definitely return.

We came for a mid week lunch. We both had a ploughman’s, or should I say two small pieces of cheese, little bread and a small salad for a large amount of money. We were the only people in the place so I’m not sure the poor portion size was a consequence of them running out of food. We thought we would give the new owners a try, having been a number of times when previously open, sorry to say we were disappointed. Hope things improve, we won’t be rushing back.

Just been to the King Richard III pub/restaurant to celebrate my nieces 30th birthday. I had the Barnsley Lamb chop, with beef dripping chips, corn on the cob and broccoli and I have to say the food was absolutely fantastic and the lamb was probably the best I have ever tasted. My fellow diners had the salmon, burger, sirloin and pork chop and they all raved at how nice it it was. The staff were also very attentive and I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

A newly decorated restaurant which feels more opulent and cosy. Went for the Sunday lunch menu and wasn’t disappointed. Came with seasonally vegetables, and individual pots of gravy. All food sourced locally. Staff were attentive and polite. Would recommend a visit. Bill came with complimentary tickets for the Richard 111 visitors centre which was a nice surprise.

Its had another revamp. There is now a better "pub" feel going on. Decor is tidy and some history on the walls to cover what is after all an historic pub. Food is of standard steak affair. Drinks menu is on point. Staff are all happy enough. It might last a bit longer than the last attempt.

Lovely sunday lunch almost perfect. Small criticism - please make sure your plates are very hot as food cools quickly. Food plentiful, service attentive but not overbearing. We will be back!!

Visited the other day after hearing good reviews from work colleagues. Was not disappointed, the food was amazing and the service by the assistant manager Ellis and the other team members was excellent. After seeing pictures of their Sunday roasts I'll definitely be back to try that too!

Dropped into here for a drink and decided to eat here too. A variety of lagers and ales available. The back “Chop House” Restaurant is lovely and clean with a unique decor, the menus is varied for all courses and the food we ordered was absolutely delicious, the staff were very chatty and friendly and always on hand, definitely worth a visit.

First time we came was for a quick drink and to check out the place after the refurb. The place looks fantastic and after seeing the menu we had to visit again and this time no driving. When we came for dinner we ordered the duck, the lamb and extra greens and fries. Both dishes were beautifully presented and just as beautiful to eat! We also had an amazing bottle of wine to go with it. Definitely recommend to visit and experience the lovely atmosphere, the great staff and the amazing food!

Visited with my wife for my birthday. Food was really good and the service was excellent. Its a small restaurant which makes it very intimate. Would really recommend this place, especially the veal chop and double pork chop.

Meet a friend for lunch and had a nice meal. The staff are really nice too! It's in a handy part of town so you can nip off to do a spot of shopping afterwards.

My husband cooks a great steak.... but this steak sandwich was just as good as his. The steak was perfectly medium rare with a delicious beef dripping sauce and well seasoned chips. The salad was even good. £8.50 seemed like a reasonable price for a fantastic work lunch. We will be back!

Yes,Ask, Winking Willy's and Golden Grid are fine but try King Richard 111 for a varied and excellent choice of meals. The giant Yorkshire pudding with roast beef is superb as is the service.

We had been to the King Richard III pub / restaurant prior to its refurb and takeover by posh pubs and really enjoyed it. But dinner in the renewed KR III pub & chophouse was fantastic to say the least.

Went here for a business lunch and was blown away. The steak sandwich was epic. The steak itself was well cooked and so tender. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. The chips were perfect. Even the salad was good. All for £8.50. Nice touches in terms of outside decor. Great staff. I will be back... a lot!!

From the photo taken it is clear to see that this premium chop house is anything but. The steak in the photo was priced at £22 but was unfortunately inedible. Firstly there was no steak knife offered which may have made it easier to eat. As you can see from the photo the steak is bowed with the bone sitting above the rest of the meat. This happens when the steak is cold or has been frozen and not being cooked at room temperature or it is not turned enough on the grill both result in an inedible piece of meat especially with sirloin. Get your act together be more like you sister pubs.
