We loved the roast and liver and bacon. What a shame one of the staff was so rude. Asked for more gravy, felt like I’d committed murder! When my husband paid the bill, she tried to charge us for a round of drinks he’d already paid for. We both found she lacked hospitality skills. In the other hand, the girl with auburn hair was lovely.

Great village pub. Really friendly and polite staff. Dating back to 1700's the place has oodles of charm and history, with inglenook fire place and style too. The top bar is dog friendly, as is the beer garden to the rear. Food is very good, well priced and varied too. Great atmosphere in an historic inn. Loads of beers and ales to choose from Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again. Plenty of parking space as well. Thanks to the whole team at the pub. Great place 😁

Spent a cracking afternoon at The White Hart for a late lunch on New Year's Day. Excellent welcome in the restaurant and really made to feel at home. Great selection of drinks, and a couple of excellent Everards ales to boot. Menu is extensive with something for everyone, cooked fresh and high quality. Simple added touches like an extra jug of custard with pudding made all the difference. Very relaxed service, really friendly and fun staff, always worth a short ride up the Bedford Road from town. Can't wait to go back, thank you for looking after us with such kindness and excellent food👍

Spent an hour walking to the White Hart, only to find the whole pub was closed for a private party. They could have kept the bar open for the public. It is after all supposed to be a pub. Complained in writing, but didn't receive any response. I guess this speaks volumes. It's no wonder that so many pubs are closing down, if this is how much some value their customers! It may also be why the other pub in the village is more popular, despite them charging a lot more for their food and drinks. I suggest anyone planning to go to this pub, especially if this involves a long walk, phone first to check if they are open to the public. Also watch out for early closing if they are quiet. Update after the response by the owner: Nice to eventually get a reply. A pity & rude that my email was ignored. My point is that the whole pub was closed to the public. You are supposed to be running a PUB. The bar could have been left open, and private party in the lounge/restaurant. I don't need be phone in future to check, because I won't be coming back!

Unfriendly. We were asked to sit in the back room, aka “the sports bar” That was the first thing the bar staff said to us on arrival. We arrived at the front door to see a placard ,it says “no dogs”, so we went to the left side of the building thinking this was the way into the garden and a lady told us to go round to the car park, which is on the right side of the building, up the hill, which isn’t clear at all there’s no signage to tell you. We walked into the bar via the main door as we didn’t know how to get into the “dog entrance” Immediately a local customer said to his friend “it’s says no dogs” Not very welcoming at all. We won’t be returning to here. Much rather go to the cherry tree around the corner. The staff are a different league. On the plus side, the food was good value. And the lovely lady who made it, and made a fuss of our dogs..should be the welcoming committee… she was engaging and professional. Doesn’t get the buddy seal of approval. Definitely not a rovers return Not recommended. Nice village. Just of off the a428 Not impressed at all.

On a hot summer's night, it was impossible to sit in the pub gardens as the landlord allowed children from one table to run round shouting, screaming and kicking a football all over the garden. We moved tables to finish our drinks and when we left, having said nothing to the family involved, we were goaded with sarcastic comments by them when we walked past. The landlord did nothing. Really unpleasant and unprovoked. Had a pleasant drink instead at the Four Pears up the road. With this clientele, we will not be returning and would not recommend this pub to anyone else. More like a Wacky Warehouse.

We had a great meal here on Saturday. The staff were friendly when we arrived and ordered, and the food was fantastic. The chef was very knowledgeable and accommodating of my gluten-free diet. The gluten-free bread was also good quality, which is quite rare when eating out. Have come here a few times and it's normal really nice! Came on a Sunday however, waited 15 mins before being asked for drinks. Waited half an hour for food, before asking politely how much longer the wait was, told it was being plated up. 15 minutes later we asked again as it was getting on for the 45 minute mark with no one apologising or letting us know the wait - the staff member was so rude to us, walked away whilst we were still trying to talk to her. Asked for the manager, who was so unhelpful and defensive, simply said she was the only one in the kitchen (which is fine, but none of this was communicated when we arrived) and just that she would have a word with the rude staff member. The food was lovely to be fair, but it was by no means worth the wait nor the attitude we received from the staff. Do yourselves a favour and don't come on a Sunday, come during the week.

We were a group of 20 struggling to find a pub in Northampton who would welcome and host us before a football match at Sixfields. We are a mixed group from 20 to 70 and travel to many away games together. After contacting Traci at the White Hart she booked us in without any hesitation and provided details in advance for us, re menu, ordering, parking etc. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and given our own space in the pub. The staff coped incredibly well with having to take table service only orders for both food and drink and then serving that number of people, particularly given nobody had bothered to order in advance and all the Covid restrictions. Whilst there was some natural delays because of this it did not cause any issues and we all really enjoyed our food and drinks, and above all really appreciated how we were looked after and welcomed. A huge thanks to all at the White Hart and as we won the match, it must be a lucky omen.

The range of Ales is impressive and I enjoyed my 'Tiger' which took me back to the late seventies in Loughborough. OK place if you want to listen to the swearing in there, plenty of the F Words used by staff member called Sharon and man she was sitting with, there was children in there too. This is my 2nd visit to the daily grind first experience was ok just lacking the welcoming . So I decided to give them another go . I asked for a menu and they showed me the board but being short sighted I forgot my glasses . So they gave me a menu . After a little hassle found out it was an old menu not a the new one it did get sorted as I think the young lad whom sorted was the manager and gave me 10% off which was lovley of him . I know it's hard getting staff up to speed on a new set menu . Only suggestion I can make is make a little menu for bagels and toastie etc . Other than that second time was a good experience . The food is excellent and it has a cosy atmosphere to the place . Also had a yamyam delivery of these guys 4 stars again . Little room for improvement that's all
