Loveliest staff, most delicious food, and a fun and lively atmosphere. 10/10, THE place to eat in Northampton :) GET THE GOLDEN MILK!!!!!!

We had a delightful meal here. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our food was full of flavour and beautifully presented, with some original and unusual treats that are well worth experiencing.

Had gone vegan for a while, for ethical and health optimisation reasons, but had been really uninspired by the food from a taste and choice perspective. Tried Karmana on a whim. The food was excellent. Really flavoursome and satisfying. Didn't miss the meat at all. There's even decent vegan wine available. Went back for a takeaway, but sadly the service wasn't quite as good... no cards taken, had to go to a machine round the corner to get cash out, went back to be told she then had no change, so had go back out to a shop to get change. Apart from this, well worth a visit otherwise.

Had been wanting to try this place for ages. I emailed in advance to make them aware of my dietary need’s gluten free on 10th January, we went on the 25th January. I eat curry at home, so did not wish to have the thali option which was suggested to me. The alternative was a herby mushroom and salad. They kindly put tofu on the salad. My husband had the tofu burger with avocado, chips and salad, which he thoroughly enjoyed. When I was asked about my salad, I did reply it was ok. Such a shame you no longer offer gluten free buns (which you need to take off the menu, as it is misleading) Bring cash, as they do not accept card. Was not made aware of this at time of booking. Had to go to cash machine, which charges £1.50 to use. The lady that served us was really lovely. I also chatted with Shivali (the manager on the phone, due to what I could eat, which was appreciated.

Bring cash! No card machine and cash machine a few doors down charges. Food was ok, If you choose the Calzone try the tofu option, the vegan cheese option wasn't great. Veg sizzler was lovely but a little over done with some burnt vegs, and the tofu jack ramen was a little too sweet for our taste. We will go back and try some of the other options though.

From the moment we walked in the lovely lady who greeted us and the beautiful aroma was just the start of a fabulous evening ,,the food was delicious,the service charming and the music was perfect ,. I would recommend this restaurant very highly to all of my friends and family .

So disappointed. They used to serve really wholesome and delicious food, and always generous servings. It was my go-to vegan place in Northampton. However the meal we had tonight was atrocious. We ordered the mushroom and spinach risotto and this was what we got.. dry, tiny portions. Not by any means a risotto. And worst of all this portion alone cost £14. Not sure if there’s new management here or what’s happened but we definitely won’t be eating here again.

Although they were late getting there to open on time today(Sunday 1st October) the host was really lovely and apologetic. On entering felt a lovely feelibg of calm energy and good vibes. The menu was so varied and that's very refreshing to see being Vegan. The lovely Host/Server was very thorough and informative about allergies and out sourced items they have, she was very honest and super friendly. We ordered the Ramen and Curry the Tight Tacos my partner ordered spring rolls which were to die for. The Ramen could have had a little more flavour was a bit mild for me,, but a really good size portion was still very very tasty. The Berry Good and Jolly Good desserts were absolutely out of this world amazing gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Overall felt very welcomed, was very cosy, yet spacious and lovely feel good atmosphere.with a cool musical themed decor good music playing too. All four of us loved it and will definitely be returning again.🥰

Fabulous place for a meal. I'm not vegan but wanted to take my vegan family out for a special meal. All of us loved our food and the friendly atmosphere. Generous portions for all our mains and sone sweet tasting desserts. We highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. We will be back on our next visit to Northampton.

Afternoon Tea was amazing!! The owners welcomed us with open arms and made us feel very comfortable and content throughout our visit. Very nice restaurant owner lady that was keen to get us drinks that we are wanting 🥰 I personally find there’s lots of choices to choose from. We ordered a sizzler plate, a ramen, a burger and a risotto. All fusion cuisines on a table! Lovely garden that we visited at the end which we regret we didn’t choose to sit there. The tables and chairs look like hand painted with cute colours overall it’s such a nicely decorated restaurant😍 about £20 per person with appetisers mains and drinks. Definitively will come back for this experience

Fantastic establishment moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm, inviting , charming decor and cozy that made ease throughout. Food simply out standing! array of vegan treats presented not only visually stunning but incredibly delicious, What impressed further was the attention to detail every bite was a symphony of tastes. Ordered afternoon tea for 4 but was disappointed. Not ready for collection despite prearranging time and importance. Owner kept stating delay was because everything was being freshly prepared but they clearly hadn’t prepped it early enough. Packed up to take away in 2 pizza boxes which meant cake was squashed to the top of the lids. No stand as the website states. No scones or jam whatsoever as stated - how was this an afternoon tea? Sandwiches, stale crisps, grapes and crushed desserts- for. +£55.

A plant-based oasis! Fabulous food prepared freshly using the best quality ingredients and no meat substitutes. A great menu for vegans, vegetarians and anyone interested in eating delicious, sustainably-sourced, and healthy food.

Fabulous vegan food. What a delight to have a whole menu of freshly cooked food to chose from. All delicious and beautifully presented. 6 of us. 3 not usually vegetarian and well all had a great meal. The tacos were crispy and fresh, the burgers scrumptious. My sizzling veg was super tasty. Had almost all the starters between us. All great. Home made humus so good we had it twice. Will be back

I visited to see an annual music event thrown by the owner - who played high quality djembe rhythms in support. A wonderful event, in the back of a charming vegan restaurant. I saw the menu and will definitely be returning to try the fayre.

Food was absolutely AMAZING. I'm a meat eater and was dubious about coming here (my daughter is vegetarian), but wow the samosas to start were delicious, u had the mushroom risotto which was out of this world. Only complaint was not enough on my plate.

First visit here and was not disappointed. Excellent food and service. They serve vegan wine but you can bring your own wine and pay £2.50pp corkage. Maybe a bit steep if you're a group of four??

Had a takeaway from karmana and loved to food, decided to dine in this time and have afternoon tea, the food the service Tue atmosphere did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I visited for the first time last night. I wish I lived closer. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. We wanted to try several of the desserts, however we were too full. However they kindly boxed us some up to take away. I'm just eating some of the trillion slice and I can confirm it is the best vegan dessert I've ever tasted!

This is truly wonderful place, super tasty and healthy food, best vegan pizza I ever tried. Monthly music jam nights are absolutely awesome. Owners are super friendly people!

I really can't rate this place highly enough. We were made to feel welcome from the instant we stepped through the door. The owners were friendly and talked to us about their food, and just wanted to do anything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Please try this place.

Lovely. Sandeep and the team have created a wonderful atmosphere which feels like coming home. The team clearly have their whole heart in what they do. Delicious plant based food made with love and attention to detail by vegan people who care. We absolutely loved our visit today and will be recommending Karmana to our friends and family. They do an innovative take-away afternoon tea, but I'd recommend dining in, for the conversation and atmosphere.

Excellent service and the food is simply amazing. My go to spot for Vegan food in the area. Would definitely recommend the lasagna ( it’s unbelievably good). I have taken my Non vegan family and friends here several times and they’ve all enjoyed it

Food made with love, and health in mind. Even as a non-vegan, this will satisfy you. Nutritious, comforting and satisfying options which are delightful and delicious. Fantastic and unique feel to the interior, making you feel like you’ve unearthed a hidden gem. Check out the garden (when it’s not too cold) and come on the music nights! Highly recommend

Delicious vegan cuisine and a warm reception can be found here. We arrived for dinner, and sampled the vegan sushi and mixed vegetable calzone, as well as many other delicious mains and sides. The owner and staff were friendly throughout, and also catered for our Father’s 70th Birthday, cooking the most delicious rice dish with a flavoursome dhal to serve to our vegetarian and vegan guests. A real star in the culinary landscape of Northampton. Edit: I think it's about 4 years since I wrote the above and this wonderful restaurant still creates absolutely smashing food. 5 of us celebrating a special occasion on a Wednesday evening and every single dish was delectable. A must visit.

Greeted by friendly waitress. Service was spot on, I really like not waiting. Partner had vegetable skewers and I had tofu and avocado burger, hands down the best burger I’ve ever eaten, meat or not meat. Partner loved the vegetable skewers. The portion of fries with my burger was very generous. We had chocolate cake and ice cream dessert, incredible. What really made the experience great was a combination of excellent food AND service. Chatted to the owners and waitress about the food, local events, Russel Brand. If you want a cosy, friendly and chilled out meal, this is the place to go. I didn’t take a photograph of my burger but I’m glad because it’s a nice surprise when you see it. I don’t really like tofu too much but whatever they cooked it in made it delicious. Can’t wait to eat here again, flavour combinations that I haven’t had before. The small extra price for the eco friendly cutlery and crockery is clearly stated on the menu and we had no issue with this as the idea behind it is great. Highly recommend.

I was bought an afternoon tea voucher for my birthday. I ordered it for take away and it did not disappoint! From the moment I called and enquired the staff were so lovely and accommodating. When I arrived, I was invited to take a seat as I was slightly early. The whole restaurant has a beautiful vibe. When I received my afternoon tea, it was beautifully presented. It tasted amazing, and had some tasty additions that aren’t on your traditional afternoon tea. Would definitely recommend !!

Four of us had a meal at Karmana yesterday. Every one of us had a different dish and they were all delicious. Mine was chilli tilly tofu and naan bread, my family had tacos, raw food salad and dahl, and a burger. All were tasty and beautifully prepared. Highly recommended!

Recently had afternoon tea. When they first opened the afternoon teas were amazing. Unfortunately not half as good this time. Far too many beetroot filled sandwiches and not alot else. Cakes ok . Seems very expensive for what you get. 😐 I asked for gluten free and that was fine also nothing against having the gluten free cakes as I said on the day .As said before far too many beetroot filled sandwiches, no variety and overpriced. Not sure on the mysterious £2.50 premium per person 🤔

Two of us ate here on Friday evening. When we arrived there was some confusion about who we were despite booking and ordering in advance and there being no one else dining. It was a little pricier than I expected, £60 for one adult, one child and no alcohol, including a mysterious £5 dining in premium that we weren't aware of. The garlic bread starter was tasty but tiny. I wasn't very impressed with the vegan sushi, unidentifiable mush in tough leaves with lots of salad. However, the risotto main was delicious. The pizza was not quite what my daughter expected as there was no description of the toppings and she wasn't expecting olives. The desserts were tasty but mush in a paper bowl. I'm not sure what the obsession is with compostable crockery and cutlery. It is nicer and more environmentally friendly to use a proper plate and wash it up. I had a sit down meal not a take away. I really want this restaurant to be a success, but there were only eight diners on a Friday night. The menu needs to be shorter and more focused, less mains, more choice of dessert as there were only three available. The waiting staff were young and in training so they hovered and paced about a bit until they were told to ask if everything was OK. I want to support small ethical companies like this but they haven't got it quite right.

Tasty, home cooked, vegan and vegetarian food. Have been coming here since it opened. Owners can’t do enough to please their customers. Staff are happy in their work. Everything on the menu is amazing, you won’t be disappointed.

First visit to Karmana, absolutely brilliant. Lovely greeting, food really, really good. Out of Town centre, easy enough to find. We came across Karmana, as a recommendation, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Nestled in, amongst a small parade of shops on Broadmead Avenue, you’d possibly over look it… but don’t! warm greeting, great selection on the menu, also try The Cannabia Beer… which is surprisingly good. They are also committed to sustainable produce. Definitely will visit again soon. Best wishes

We were a family of 9 having a pre-Christmas get together (while these are still allowed under Covid rules). One of us is vegan, one vegetarian and for me it was the first time we'd been to a fully vegan outlet. The food was interesting, although one of the "sharing" starters wasn't really for sharing, but at least it was enough for one person. Service was a little slow, music just a tad too loud so we couldn't hear the waitress all that well. Unfortunately, when it came to pay it turned out that their card machine wasn't working, so, we had to Scrabble around finding enough cash...

We've been going for many years but sadly hadn't been in awhile. It didn't disappoint food was fantastic and the member of staff who served us was brilliant. These guys have been paving the way for vegan food in Northampton long before the big chains got on board! If you're veggie/vegan it's definitely a must, if you just love great fresh tasty food cooked to order then give it a try!

Very good food, great personal service. The only thing that I DIDEN"T LIKE was the use of the PLASTIC cutlery and glass. We have a big problem to solve as a community....."how to protect the environment". Each one of us has a duty to do something. LESS PLASTIC !!!!

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The food did take some time to come despite having to preorder but when it did come, we were not disappointed! If you dine here, definitely try the calzone. I had the vegetarian one with vegan cheese and it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back to have another ☺️☺️

Excellent food, great personal service. Well balanced, flavoursome vegan (and veggie) food with options that would appeal to most people. Will definitely visit again. If you want to try out vegan food with options that feel familiar then this is a great place to go.

I've been to Karmana a few times since writing a previous 3 star review of it on 9 September 2016, and it's much, much better than it was back then. The last few times I've been it's been great - the food has been lovely, generous portions, and at the table in a reasonable amount of time. Northampton has needed a decent vegan restaurant (and take away) for some time, and now it has one. Top marks to everyone at Karmana. Over the last few years it's gone from being a bit hit-and-miss to reliably excellent.

A lovely relaxed place, good food freshly cooked with local ingredients. They do a lovely vegan cream tea that you can do as a takeaway. Along with all there food. They are very community based. 🌱💚

Its next door to the best barbers in town im sure there food is lovely as the restaurant is really well furnished and have heard good thing but not yet been.

Quite a disappointing experience. We ordered the spinach curry with the 'rainbow rice' and the falafelmezze. the curry was bland and more like a paste and the rice was just plain boiled rice, not cooked in onion and spices like it said on the menu. The falafel plate was okay, both items seemed very overpriced and small though. Also be aware that on the dessert menu where it says you can add ice cream or custard that it will be double the price which isn't clear.

So, a beautifully quant restaurant hidden away in a residential estate in Northampton. I'm so blessed to have been introduced to this place. The staff were so welcoming, the food was incredibly tasty and perfectly flavoured and the atmosphere was amazing. Keep doing what you do! Also take-away the dessert if you don't have room in your stomach after the mains. Their vegan rocky road is to die for.

My husband took me here for my birthday as I’d been wanting to try it for quite a while.The ambiance was different and pleasant. We were taken to a table but even though it wasn’t busy it took a while for our drinks order to be taken. Our food order was duly given, my choice being luscious sweet potatoes ‘a mix of sweet potatoes, apple and banana’ (£5.95) to be followed by spinach curry meal ‘choice of potatoes,tofu or paneer with nan or rice’ (£14.95). I was asked if I’d like to mix and match in the curry rather than select only one to which I said yes. The starter was mainly chopped apple and banana with a smaller portion of sweet potato, tasty but overall a little disappointing. Our plates were taken away and the mains brought straight to the table with no break, in fact so quickly even the waitress commented! My spinach curry was very similar to one I make at home, including in presentation, served as it was in the same bowl in which my husbands soup had been served. We then moved onto desert, a selection of various cakes. The menu states ‘can be served warm with optional vegan ice-cream or vegan custard’ . After checking the menu for costs, I could find none, and we both selected a cake warmed with ice-cream. Both were delicious. Once finished the service again failed as we were left feeling forgotten and overlooked. We were then rather taken aback on presentation of the check. We had £1.95 added for choosing the ‘mix & match’ offered with the curry and £5.50 for the addition of ice-cream to the deserts. We didn’t raise this as not only was it my birthday (so didn’t want to spoil it with an argument) but it had taken so long to get the bill there was, by then, a jazz duet playing. Glad we went but won’t be returning.

Visited for the first time yesterday. I'm on a Daniel fast and wanted to eat out but still keep my fast going. The food was tasty and wholesome and I really enjoyed it. My son who was with me had the greedy burger and also thoroughly enjoyed that. Lovely, quaint little place. Warm and engaging hostess. Will definitely be going back.

We went here for Valentine's Day and we were pleasently surprised. The food was excellent, the service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was great. The music they played in the restaurant was just right.

A pleasant meal in quiet surroundings at an independent vegan/veggie restaurant. I had the Aubergine Curry and my wife had a Vegan Sizzler. Both meals were well presented, tasty and hot. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. All in all an enjoyable evening.

The food was adequate. Every dish on our table of four had raw onions which upset our stomachs. Not as good as we could have cooked at home or bought from a supermarket. The music and vibe was great. Would go back only if the menu improved.
