The best restaurants in East Midlands

Popped in for Taco night and was very impressed with the food and staff.

Friendly and welcoming staff and the best coffee in the area.

The first time I came here I was impressed … and the second time. Yesterday I arranged to meet two sets of friends and two different times. This was to see if there might be an improvement on my last experience of dry and unrecognisable as cake, lemon cake. Sadly this will have been my last visit. I had some of the worst food I have been served in a very long time. Dry pancakes which tasted so badly of baking powder, and which had barely a dribble of honey on them. All I can say is the fruit was edible. Then later a lunch of chicken and halloumi wraps which may as well have been wrapped in cardboard. The fact that food was not eaten on both occasions didn’t prompt a question if all was ok, I was then asked if I wanted a loyalty card which I took for the irony, and as my lunch companion said, there wasn’t even any eye contact. My last visit as I have no idea what had happened to this place over the past few months!

Food was lovely. Lollipop chicken for starters highly recommended and value for money 👌

Delighted to find this place - it was just what we wanted. We both had decaf capuccinos. My husband had tiffin, I had Bakewell slice. Both just right and prepared us for our walk back to Matlock.

1 star Really disappointed with my recent visit to Franky’s Fish Bar. I ordered cheesy chips and found a hair mixed in with the food (photo attached). It’s completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of hygiene. I won’t be coming back unless standards improve. Please take better care when preparing food!

i came the other day to have lunch and the service was a 10/10 there was so many lovely staff who were more than happy to accommodate us to a seating area that fitted us best, very lovely staff and the food was top class, thank you very much

By far one of the best if not the best place to eat in Alford and the surrounding areas , great service , great food , portion size.is huge and it's all top quality you couldn't ask for anything more

When ever am passing through Nottingham with my family for a visit, this is my go to for the best breakfast in town. The staff are so polite i can not moan, take it from a moana.

Not the same as normal, I wonder if it's new management? Pizzas looked smaller and not as well cooked. Not the same branded packaging as before. Didn't get as many wings as usual and not as much sauce on them either. Don't think I'll bother again.

Great village club with very friendly and welcoming staff. Good selection of drinks available including some well kept real ales. Regular live music there, too. Definitely worth a visit.

Ordered sunday dinners from hear and they was amazing . The best sunday dinners ... would highly recommend will deffo be ordering again

Booked here for my friends Birthday 🎁 We took our dogs. The staff are very welcoming & friendly, great food, great service! Lovely atmosphere too. Clean & tastefully decorated. The lamb Sunday roast was absolutely delicious 😋. My friend enjoyed their Sausage Roast too ☺️
