Delightful pub/ bar/ restaurant! We arrived early for a booking and so sat in the bar area. We were then taken through to the stylish dining room. Attentive staff took our order and remained on hand throughout the evening. We had the mussels and croquettes to start, followed by the chicken supreme and burger (emperor chips added) for mains. All were delicious and generously portioned. If we return to the area, we will certainly visit again!

Dear oh dear oh dear ..... took friends having recommended it. What a mistake. A once great 'pub with food' has lost it's way chasing a Michelin star .... for whose benefit? Certainly not the punter's. Having visited regularly since it first opened and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere it's now inflexible, a poncy menu choice, deadly dull and too expensive. Requested they drop the mash on the pie dish, not a fan, and replace with chips .... 'I don't think we can do that'. Why not, does it upset the Chef's sensibilities? They didn't. Had to order chips as well. Friend asked for a soft-boiled egg, for some protein, to add to his Salad .... 'I don't think we have any eggs, if it's not on the menu we won't have any in stock'. They didn't have an egg they could soft-boil. A Michelin star chasing restaurant that didn't have an egg on the premises. Made it seem like the dishes were poly-bagged and flown in .... couldn't be adapted. 'Open-kitchen' doesn't work .... we had 90 minutes watching 4 staff looking miserable. Totally inappropriate music for a restaurant .... we weren't in River Isalnd. Dessert .... 'Honey cake, poached plums, crème fraiche sorbet' .... looked like it was out of a box from Waitrose's dessert section. 'Cake' was hard, assumed it would ooze honey .... couldn't finish it, indigestible. Cheapest wine .... £30 Most expensive .... £190 Very, very disappointing. Walk in the area regularly and it's always been a post-walk treat .... taken friends and family many times, Christmas and New Years Day visits too. Never again.

Absolutely amazing in every single way. Such a friendly welcome, so felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. It was a Saturday night and very busy, but waiting staff took orders quickly enough, with a genuine smile, and were all very lovely. The whole restaurant has a great vibe, spotlessly clean and beautiful decor/lighting. And the food - WOW!!! I literally can't remember the last time I tasted food with this depth of flavour. And the chef came over for a quick chat at the end of our meal to apologise for us not getting the full experience as it was such a busy night. There's more?! We were happy enough with everything as it was, so can't wait to return! The perfect restaurant. Adored it!

I loved the decor the 1930/40s music . Fabulous service , clean and politeness from the minute you walk through the door till you leave . Home made food and cooked superbly. Opposite the Theatre Royal so a good place to eat before show or after show when a matinee is on. Totally a no 1 place for food and drink

We had our wedding day at beauvale priory and I can honestly say it was our best day ever. The attention to detail and staff were second to none. We had lasagne and salad and pizza for our meal and freshly made on site. In the evening we had chip cobs and freshly homemade artisan doughnuts everything made by Cameron on site. Thanks Tony for wearing your kilt, thanks Ann for telling me to slow down and take every minute in, thanks Lauren and Troy for all your advice when we made the booking and changing a few things last minute. Highly recommended ❤️ thank you so much and we wish we could do it all again x
