The Sweet Lounge in Derby

Very good desserts. We visit there often. I sincerely recommend it

I went for a sundae, and I had a sundae. I had the salted caramel sundae with caramel brownie nuggets, salted caramel sauce, and a ùgenerous serving of ice cream and whipped cream ..omg.. it doesn't need to be good on service, it doesn't need atmosphere, it doesn't matter that everything else is w**k - the sweets are heaven. ***UPDATE***I paid another visit today, and despite a tasteful refurb, I'm afraid my scores have had to drop. I ordered a sausage & bacon roll with a large americano - I got a bacon roll with a large americano. Getting your order right has got to be number 1 .. Right? BUT there is definitely hope for this place - the management has got the right attitude, and with some proper training, the staff could 'do the place proud'. The bacon roll that I did get, which formed a part of my £8.15 bill, was small. I did enjoy how they'd presented it tho'. The roll had been slightly burned, and the sweet bacon was yummy - the coffee too was a delightful accompaniment. If it had been what I ordered, then this would have been a much better review. I feel bad about slicing a star off of their overall score and a star off the food score.. but it's noticeable that 'service' has remained at 2 stars or 'poor' - regular training would probably stir that up. Maybe organise staff training before ordering those soft chairs? I did notice, however, on a positive note that the atmosphere in the place had finally made it onto the runway - and gone up a star! Every table at some point during my visit had been occupied, and upon leaving, everybody got a resounding "cheerio" from the manager! Each table was talking about something different, and the patrons struck me as all being regulars - all good stuff. So, not a landslide victory by any means .. but not a failure either. Watch out, chaps! I will be back!

Short staffed! Every table was dirty with pots on and the staff members have no initiative. Wouldn't clean away our plates when they brought us drinks. Food wait time: Came on a Sunday which i understand is a busy day but waited an hour for our dessert! People who came after us got served before us.

The sweet lounge is so welcoming, good value for money and the staff are very friendly. It has been refurbished to a nice standard

Great place, good prices for great quality food and generous portions. Had the hot choc fudge cake, lots of hot choc sauce and ice cream with it. got my sweet sugar fix! hot chocolate was lush, nice to have one that's actually sweet, so many places it's just chalky but not here. Service top notch, lovely folk and attention to detail. looking forward to coming back and trying some of the savoury choices too.

Great desserts, great milkshakes, good mains too. The friendliest (and most child-tolerant) staff you'll ever meet. Would be nice have barista-made coffee instead of machine-made, but it's good for what it is

This is THE nicest place I have been to for desserts that I can remember. The staff are crazy friendly and incredibly helpful and the food is out of this world good for the value! I will definitely be back 👊

Very nice quiet little cafe. We went to take my grandma for her birthday. Service was friendly, the drinks all hot and tasted great. We had a selection of waffles and brownies which were excellent.

Think we end up here at least once a week now - great coffee, superb food, all fresh and very fairly priced. Service is always friendly and efficient and the place is always spotless. Well worth a visit!

Lovely, friendly place. Staff can't do enough to help and with a sense of humour.

This opened up round the corner from us. Much better than the pizza takeout that was there before. Good selection of desserts and ice cream. The guys run this really well and there's a great atmosphere.

Another great meal at the sweet Lounge. So nice to be able to have cocktail. I would recommend the expresso martini using their coffee blend.

The service is always fantastic and the deserts are amazing, I came here for breakfast recently, no fried eggs and mushrooms were boiled 🤦‍♂️ if you had fried eggs and fried mushrooms this would have been a 5 ⭐️ review

Lovely little place, glad we stumbled across it! We had waffles and milk shakes, which was delicious!! Then came back the next morning for breakfast. Breakfast was on point!! I had the builders breakfast, ans the sausages were spot on. Usually I'm fussy and can't eat many ,but I had mine then ate more 🤣🤣...highly recommend a visit 👌

Best dessert place in Derby! Lovely staff, Dieter is amazing! Milkshake was superb. Lotus cookie dough and big kid waffle were incredible. Would highly recommend and definitely visiting again ❤️

Great place with friendly staff. Coffee is great, food even better. Had the kids waffle which would be big enough for most adults and a jam roly poly. Normally I'd avoid these as they are more sponge than suet, but this was absolutely spot on. Will definitely be back!

We love the Sweet Lounge and will often come as it's so close to us. The food is really tasty, a large variety to choose from and good prices. Perfect for a quiet evening out too as they serve alcohol. Great selection of gins and cocktails. 100% reccomend trying!

I always build my own 👍 Been a customer for 5 years and never had a problem. Staff always call you if there's an issue with delivery or your order. Very polite and friendly place 💜

I believe 3 stars is a fair review. I oreded my delivery online and was given the estimated time of arrival of 10pm. I was like cool that's fine but the order actually turned up at 10.30pm which is taking the biscuit a little bit, if you know the eta is going to be later, you need to let the customer know. Saying around 10pm is normally a 10 minute leeway either side but half an hour is a bit merh On to the food, I ordered a cookie dough and it arrived pipping hot and smelled amazing. Part of the cookie dough was soft and amazing and the other half was solid like a brick. It was almost biscuit like as I ended up dunking it in my tea. So good on some fronts not so good on others, I may try again in the future but not anytime soon

First visit and good experience. Nice that the service went beyond to assist. Great portions. Lovely presentation. Breakfast omelette bap was great.

Had the hot chocolate and it is honestly the best I've tried anywhere. Better than Costa etc. Also had a galaxy browny which was delicious and surprisingly it was all fairly priced. Really nice place and I will definitely go again... looking forward to trying the hot food which looked delicious.

We ordered from here through Uber Eats and it was really good. Portion sizes are good, cookie dough/waffles arrived nice and hot/warm, ice cream nice and cold and not melted. I'd definitely use this place again.

Excellent service.. even when I had to contact them to amend the delivery time to an hour later due to me forgetting to amend delivery time. Waffles arrived warm and soft, best waffles I've ever had they melt in your mouth! Will definitely be ordering again.

Beautiful coffee (oat milk available) and tasty food. Child friendly with toys and small play area. Opens out into a quiet suburban square with parking and al fresco seating, south-facing. A tad noisy inside if you want somewhere quiet to work or relax.

Child friendly cafe with selection of cakes, milkshakes and coffee. Staff very friendly and very informative about their opening times, they do delivery and are open til 11pm. Its our first time here and looking forward to going back to work through the different milkshake mixes. Parking outside is ok. Definitely a place to try for yourself. They have a couple of gluten free choices on the menu as well.
