Kathleen Rose Tea Room in Derby

Today 14th April 2025, served by a very obnoxious person who was obviously in a bad mood, she greeted me with a grunt, what do you want, told her beans on toast and a cup of tea because the last time her food was cold so thought i would make it easy for her, she gave me 3 slices of burnt toast stacked on top of each other with cold beans on the side of the plate, she slammed the tea down on the table, a few minutes later whilst i was deciding whether to eat the food she said do you want to pay which i did, whilst she slammed the change down on the counter and whilst walking away from me towards the kitchen she was calling me a weirdo which was very insulting and her bad attitude is disgusting and she as ruined my 3 times a week venue (she only served me twice) both times with an attitude. her customer service skills are very lacking in the skills part ?

Just had the best Jamaican food from Cool Running’s,excellent food.Will be back again really enjoyed all of it thank you

Visited here with my elderly sister. Level access which was a must as my sister's mobility is poor. Plenty of room between tables. It was nice and clean including toilets. Good choice of food for lunch and good sized portions. Nice chatty lady served us and prepared food. Only 4 stars for atmosphere as it was very quiet, but would visit again

I've visited this tea room on numerous occasions , breakfast and afternoon tea specifically. The food has always been great, there's always a friendly smile from the staff and a good standard of cleanliness as well. If you haven't yet been ,I would definitely recommend you do.

Popped in for a cuppa with my elderly parents. Hadn't been before. Lovely bright tea room with well spaced tables. Served by a lovely lady that chatted with us. Didn't sample any food ourselves this time but there was a good array of handmade cakes on show. Will definitely return.

The owner is very friendly, place is cosy and warm, food is delicious and all home made. Loved it. Went for a morning coffee in the weekend and couldn't resist their coffee cake

Visited for the first time the other day. I had my arm in a sling after a recent op. She was very attentive to my disposition! The food was excellent sausage and egg cob bacon and egg cob! Food perfectly cooked and very fresh cobs. Washed down with a lovely cup of tea! Also superb prices too! I will visit again!

Cash only!!!? In this day and age? We don't carry cash. HMRC should take a look. Wasted 30 minutes to get there.

Lovely food, good prices, friendly staff

I visited here for the first time on Friday. The sun was out and shining brightly into the front window of this lovely, airy tearoom. It is comfortable and cosy inside, with whimsical decorations. The menu has choices for breakfast, dinner and tea, with lots of hot and cold drinks. The lady who looked after us was friendly and welcoming. I shall definitely come again.

Ordered sausage cobs and pasties for a funeral. Food was delicious and all the team were very helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend. Thank you 😊

Lovely little coffee shop or tea room. We had the quiche with salad and it was beautifully cooked with excellent pastry. Will definitely be going again.

Had a nice lunch here, although part of my jacket potato was hard. Plenty of tea in the pot for two. The staff member was friendly. We sat at the window and had to keep our coats on as it was a bit cold but overall the visit was good

This is a really special place with an exceptional person serving. The welcome and politeness we received was great. There was an honesty and integrity displayed. The quality of food provided was impressive. The café is on the outskirts of Derby in a more residential area which is a bonus for parking.

Nice place good cuppa food yummy. Small but cosy and friendly. Prices reasonable.
