Excellent Food, Service was worthy of a tip. Only one issue that was quickly resolved was that the initial table was right next to the exit to the outdoor seating area. Raised this straight away and was placed at a far better table.

A Memorable Birthday Lunch at The Pepperpot We recently visited The Pepperpot for a friend’s birthday, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We both opted for two courses from this week’s lunch menu, and every bite was a delight. The goat cheese starter was phenomenal – the textures, the flavors, the sheer creativity of the dish truly stood out. It was a perfect balance of richness and freshness, leaving a lasting impression. For the main, the lamb trio – belly, liver, and shank – was an absolute standout. Each cut was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. It was a masterclass in elevating comfort food with refined technique. A special shoutout to Benjamin, who provided exceptional service, even taking a moment to compliment my makeup, adding a personal touch to the experience. Thank you to the team for making this celebration truly memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Visited for our post engagement celebration, the staff are so friendly and helpful, as always. The food was hot and tasty, as always. We've been here a few times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Love this restaurant and wish I could eat there more often. Our waitress Jess, was really friendly and congratulated us on our engagement too.

We visited for breakfast before the Derby game and the food was exceptional as was Lexi who looked after us. I would highly recommend Pepperpot.

Superb food uniquely prepared and exquisite environment

We had a wonderful anniversary meal and were impressed and touched by our waitress Jess remembering our names and organising a card and Prosecco for us. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. We loved the interior, it felt stylish and modern. The tableware were all of a high quality and everything felt elegant and luxurious. We will definitely return!

We had a lovely birthday brunch here today. Food was very nice with just enough of a 'twist' on the classics (chilli avocado with eggs royal, black pudding as a black eggs benedict). The staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough for us, without being pushy. Izzy remembered everything we'd had and it was no trouble for her to redo the bills separately for us. Mike rushed out to take photos for us outside the beautiful building. A special and lovely end to our weekend in Derby. Would highly recommend for a special treat

My friends and I had a lovely afternoon dining at The Pepper Pots. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service.

The whole atmosphere was lovely as was the food. Only one thing is that the young waiter’s uniform is a bit short and didn’t think it was appropriate for such a classy restaurant.

We went to celebrate a 60th birthday and they made the occasion so special, with a glass of Prosecco, a birthday card and cake with a candle. The food looked and tasted amazing and good value for money. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

The place itself is stunning. Beautifully presented food and Staff very attentive.

I had the full English breakfast which was delicious but couyld have done with some toast on the side. Coffeee very good.

Excellent food, great service, the staff could not do enough for you. Not overly busy but was quite early for an evening meal (6.30 pm). Quite expensive but the quality is fantastic.

Not a great meal from the outset. Having made a booking for 7:30pm I was contacted about a week before to say the latest time for a table was 4:30. As an apology they offered a free bottle of wine, which I thought was very generous. The restaurant was almost empty, so not much atmosphere, but I wasn’t bothered by this. When we were ready to order, an item that was listed as gluten free turned out not to be so left very little choice for my wife. My son and I went for the roast beef dinner. The beef was very stringy and as tough as old boots. Both of us left quite a bit of this. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and hard. Must have been made hours before and kept warm. Most of the veg was ok, but the mange tout was a bit stringy. My other son went for the pork loin which he didn’t like very much either. I had the brownie for dessert, but it was dry and rock hard. I could have done with a knife to cut it. When we paid the bill I noticed the beef dinner had been over charged by £7.50 each according to the menu prices so to had to ask for a refund. I would have complained at the time about the food but it was supposed to be a special treat for my son and didn’t want to cause a scene in front of him. I think a Toby carvery would have been better.

The restaurant itself is nicely furnished and done up. Then the food is even better. Cannot wait to go back and try again.

4 of us went to celebrate my fellas birthday. The staff were very accommodating and he got a free glass of prosecco and a birthday card from the team. The food was very well presented, tasty and just the right sized portions to enable us to have a dessert. The service was friendly and I would highly recommend it. We would definitely return for a special night out.

Fantastic experience. Visited for my friends birthday and were completely spoilt with attentive, warm and welcoming hospitality. The food we enjoyed was nothing short of perfect, each dish expertly executed to boast fantastic produce and refined cookery.

We booked for a family birthday meal, everything was really nicely presented from the sourdough with butter and mini sorbet which was not expected made the whole experience fantastic highly recommended. The food was exactly as advertised and perfect

Top quality dining experience in Derby. Each menu choice was better than expected. Could not believe that potato soup could be that good! Service was proper service as we know it in high class venues. Drinks brought to the table on a silver tray for example. Coats taken and put on hangers. Really nice all round.

We were the only table for a while which is why the lower score for atmosphere but very beautifully fitted out. Staff were so efficient and friendly, food was delicious, filling and good value for the quality of ingredients. We will definitely return.

Lovely tasty food in a very calm & relaxed setting .The waitresses were all very attentive & polite .

Family breakfast food was a little cold, people said they would of preferred the sausages to be browner although they were cooked through they were all very pale justa grey colour. Also states sauted potatoes but they were just cut up cold boiled new potatoes. Service was good food was a bit of a let down this time, although very nice people did have a few complaints this time regarding temperature of the food, also the aforementioned preference with sausages and potatoes. 2 people sent breakfasts back to be warmed up, others also wanted it doing but we felt rude sending 6 dishes back.

Great Team. Very well organised. Ambiente was super. The food is amazing (just dessert a bit less great that the starters/mains).

Me and my mum came here for breakfast yesterday as a birthday treat. We were greeted with a mimosa and a birthday card as a surprise for my Mum's birthday which was a lovely touch. The food and the setting were both incredible and amazing value for money. A thoroughly lovely start to the day with attentive, kind staff members. We will certainly be back :) x

Approaching the Pepperpot from London Road felt like a scene from a famous boxing film, made me smile. Once inside the decor was modern industrial, I like that look. Service and hosting was excellent, the two individuals who looked after us were professional, attentive and not intrusive, a very good balance. The food was lovely, a great breakfast treat. Looking forward to coming back for dinner

Had a really special evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is simply wonderful. Great menu and the meal was beautifully presented. However, a special shout out to the staff, who are super friendly and welcoming. They laid on some special touches to make our night memorable which was so lovely. Great cocktails too! We will definitely be returning soon.

Went for a birthday lunch and had a lovely experience. Service was excellent (particularly Alissa - hope I’ve remembered her name correctly) and food was very good. Have been before and will most definitely return.

I came here with a friend to both celebrate my birthday and our retirement. We were both made to feel welcome AND spoiled by the lovely staff (thank you for the champagne 🍾 and the birthday cake 🎂). We'll be back....cos you guys ROCK 👍🏾 ❤️

What a lovely venue and atmosphere.. we only popped in for a dinner as was meet by some lovely staff. The food was small but delicious. Will definitely be returning. Either for a bunch which is actually really well priced. Or to sample their evening meal menu for a date night. Highly recommended 👌

Lovely Roast dinner here at the Pepperpot. We had the latest booking time of 1600 on the Sunday and we're running a bit late but we rang up and they were very helpful and still allowed is to have a very enjoyable roast in a lovely environment. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!

The service was flawless, with the staff being attentive and welcoming throughout our meal. The setting was equally impressive, with a perfect blend of old and new decor that makes this place unforgettable. Highly recommended – we can't wait to return!

Fabulous meal again and wonderful service at a beautiful venue. If I was to be really picky then my only suggestion would be to have vertical blinds at the windows so the blinding sunshine can be tempered (and perhaps some of the flats attempts at window dressing would be obscured as an added benefit😂)

Went for a 2 course brunch and it was all brilliant. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Really friendly service without it being too much. Definitely recommend.

What a little gem of a place. Well worth a visit. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the blackberry and sage creme bruleé. Only one slight criticism, which I can't mark them down for, was the food came very quickly as I think they were quiet. When you're out for a special meal you want a little pause between courses to enjoy the ambience.

After having an excellent Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago, I returned yesterday with a large group for a celebration. We were seated upstairs in the Nightingale room which was fabulous, as we were able to mingle much easier than if we’d been in the main restaurant area. The room also has a separate toilet area close by which was a bonus. From the moment I made the booking the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly & patient (as I made several changes to the pre-order). The food was amazing, the cocktails were delicious (with lots of choice) and the decor is stunning. As soon as we arrived they made us feel so welcome. We weren’t rushed and we were allowed to linger as long as we wanted. Thanks to the wonderful staff it was a very special afternoon and one I will remember for a long time. I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you so much Joanne.☺️

We enjoyed our lunch, the food was tasty, we were served with a smile. My only problem was the accessibility, parking in particular and guidance on the Pepperpot's website can be improved for wheelchair users.

A lovely Mother's Day afternoon spent at The Pepperpot. The service was impeccable and our waiter was extremely attentive. My daughter was being shy (which was a new one for me), but he was able to bring her out of her shell quick enough. We chose 3 roast dinners and my daughter had the kids beef burger. The beef burger looked great! The roast dinners were OK. Mine was a little cool and some of the veg was a little hard, but the beef was cooked to perfection. My sister eats a gluten free diet and although she advised of this, she ordered a gluten free roast, however a Yorkshire pudding was put onto the plate. After checking, it wasn't gluten free. Thankfully she just has an intolerance and not an allergy so wasn't a huge problem. Maybe something to think about plating these moving forward. All in all, we loved our experience. The decor is great, it's comfortable, the music was spot on and we didn't feel rushed. There was a photographer going around taking mother's day Polaroids for us as a keepsake which was a lovely edition to the day 🥰 Recommended, also for breakfast!

Three of us from different parts of the country had dinner here March 25th. The young ladies serving were excellent from the smiles we received as we entered and throughout. The food, service and atmosphere were first class. One of them ordered us a taxi which arrived quickly. We chose the Pepperpot as it’s the perfect place for a special occasion, it feels like you could be anywhere when eating here, old school service which I adore. The food was sublime and the extra touches from the goats cheese & pea canapé to the strawberry, champagne sorbet were exceptional. Our meal was a delight from start to finish, thank you for making our wedding anniversary so memorable.

Had the most amazing dining experience at the Pepper Pot. Made a reservation for a large group and emailed in advanced to say I was planning a birthday surprise and the team there went above and beyond to make the birthday feel really special. Everything from the food to the service was amazing! They even prepared a card for the birthday boy which was such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend!

We were there early evening midweek, so it was quiet. It was getting busy as we left. The service was pretty near perfect, and the food the same.

Was really lovely, from the food to the aesthetics. Had been given a lot of complimentary foods. Food was well cooked, workers were really kind and the waiting time wasn’t long at all. 10/10 for me!

8 of us went to the pepperpot just by chance and what a find. Excellent food service and atmosphere. The staff, particularly Jess, were probably the best I have experienced in years. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make our evening di enjoyably. We'll done and when next in Derby a visit to the Pepperpot will be a must.

Had a truly excellent experience last night as a group of 8. From the moment we entered, we were looked after by friendly, knowledgeable & highly trained staff. Under Jess's direction the whole evening was made so enjoyable & we all felt very 'treated'. Thank you all so much for a wonderful evening. So happy there’s a nice restaurant in Derby now, overall the food was amazing cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed all the dishes except slightly disappointed in the honeycomb dessert (not very honeycomb), will try another dessert next time but everything else was solid. The staff could be more familiar with the dishes but considering it’s still quite new it’s understandable. Oh, and I have to say your sour dough was INCREDIBLE!

I booked a table for two on valentines day. I opted for a lunch time. As an added extra for my partner I asked the staff at the restaurant if then could put some heart shaped balloons, a bottle of champagne, some rose petals and flowers on the table on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and they didn't let me down. Amazing work to by all the staff. The food was absolutely amazing. My partner was absolutely blown away and as an added surprise they brought the flowers at the end which was brilliant. I'd definitely book again. A fantastic place. Thank you G & A

Stunning venue use of the old hospital, which brought back some nostalgia. The decor & interior was beautiful and the brunch selection was delicious. It’s a must visit!

However The Pepperpot was fabulous - creative cocktails ,beautifully presented delicious food and a team who got it ' just right' not over attentive but professional and knew their products well. Great place to eat and drink. Lovely decor inside and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the lunchtime menu and we really enjoyed our meals, with great drinks available too. The lady who looked after us throughout our visit was spot on and made the experience special. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Great location, with a well-balanced and varied menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

One to remember! I brought my girlfriend for the first time and we had such a nice time and meal - to top it off I proposed to her upstairs in the private function room and the team had set up the room with rose petals and gave us a card and some champagne too (a great touch) - she said yes! We’ll be coming back! Thank you so much team Food was great and my only even better if was finding a good place to park but other than that it was spot on!

We went to The Pepperpot for Christmas Day Lunch and it was fabulous! The Beef Wellington was the best I've ever had anywhere.

Great experience right from the start with excellent cocktails especially the Gingerbread Old Fashioned. The meal itself chosen from the Christmas menu was a real treat with all three courses thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. The team serving the food and drinks were all so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, we will be visiting again soon.
